Is there any solution to this problem?
touch buttons illuminated, screen back light on but screen wont wake up, stays black, so i have to remove the battery.
It is driving me mad, happens every other day 2/3 times a day.
Running temaseks rom and kernel on there... is there anything i can do to eradicate this problem?

Try to reflash rom. Shouldn't have such issues on Temasek at all.

it may occur in process downloading data in background (via WIFI) or if apps auto update is being
need to wait or pull out the battery

i think it's a rom problem,i face it when i'm on that build, but now i change to gueste.. and everything works, try to change kernel.. or rom..
I also had this problem on Parandroid CM10, no sign of life from the phone at all.
However, I reflashed the rom and now it works great.
Ok rom issue then. I will reflash it with a different one and kernel. Any kernel recomendations?

Happened to me on gueste2x v3.8 last night while I was USB tethering...and I was just pushing for a record time running made it to 160 hours and had to pull battery out to get it working again. As mentioned already, it's probably something to do about background data/wifi activity.
Nevertheless, I still recommend gueste2x v3.8  Give it a try

wow, i really wonder which settings you use and which usage type you have. hardly get 20 hours of life out of my battery. im using a jb rom which needs more juice, but nevertheless the difference is stunning. maybe i should start thinking about getting a new battery

Well i hope cm10 is gonna fix this issue forever, because this is making me wanna toss my o2x and whole android to the trashbin and buy a Windows Phone rather.. I Just cant keep a phone i cant rely on

Try to completely empty the battery by rebooting after your phone shuts down because of low battery. Keep rebooting it after it shuts down again till it doesn't want to boot anymore. Till the battery is completely empty.
Then Charge it again and leave it on the charger for more then 20 hours.
Don't know if it's gonna work but give it a try
EDIT: Q? are you using a custom ROM ??
Ok I'll give it a try, thank you. I have this problem since i flashed a modaco firmware and wiped my battery cache via cwm. Anyone else having those issues?

Sorry, should have given more detail. That 48 hours is with general browsing and social networking with a fair bit of video recording and camera use. No 3G though. All data was over WiFi.
Certainly not just stand-by though.

No full power use of the processor i understand
i thought i had the problem too with the MDC fear 5.3 but it just jumped from 98% to 100 after 10 minutes so its probably a mistake which solved itselve if you charge it long enough.

Didn't work for me, i did it exactly this way, charged it for about 10 hours, booted in recovery, wiped the battery stats and it stills shows 97% when i boot it. However, it's not a disastrous failure, i can live with it and hopefully it gets fixed sometime.
Finally, i found the solution for me. After i reflashed the stock rom, where this problem doesn't occur, i flashed a modaco rom again WITHOUT WIPING THE BATTERY STATS. Now it's all working fine, i charged my phone to 100% a few minutes ago. Hope it will help some of the people, who are still having problems.
Does kernel version has anything to do with this issue?
Don't think so, i tried the stock, Paul's kernel from FR12 and the EternityProject Kernels 1.3 and 1.4, it was all the same until i tried reflashing without wiping battery stats. For the record, i flashed the new TK-Rom V 0.6 with the EternityProject Kernel 1.4.
I'm rooted running cm7 with the tiamat 1.1.4 kernel and get quite good battery however nothing like I have seen some people talking about. I know my phone is going in to deep sleep
However is there any settings in cm7 I should be using to make the battery life longer?

Well I'm on cm7 and 1.1.5 (I've not noticed any difference between 1.1.4 and 1.1.5), and I get two days on a charge. I don't have facebook/e-mail or many other app syncing and I don't turn it off at night or anything like that.
I've seen people saying they get longer on a single charge but then you usually find out they're switching it off or putting it on airplane mode over night or something.

Just wipe everything in recovery. When I installed CM7 after a few minutes it automatically started downloading my apps I'd had previously installed. There were a large chunk it didn't work on but they showed up in My apps in the market so I could just click on to download again.

no. the key here will be the right amount of under volting. dont go berserk. just reduce it to a small amount and check. minus 25-50 seems fine.
Use incredicontrol to undervolt to -75 and change wifi sleep policy in advanced setting to never. Did this with cm7 and got great battery life. Now using miuiandroid im at 70% after 19 hours of medium usage. It's amazing. No lag what so ever. Don't use tiamat 1.1.5 though, use 1.1.4, way more optimized.

yes tiamat 1.1.4 performs better than 1.1.5.
however you can try lord clockan's cm7 kernel. some users have found it even better than tiamat.

Hey everyone,
I flashed ICS a few days ago and then a day or two later flashed rocket rom. I am not really sure if this problem happened before rocket or not.
My phone randomly "shuts off". Maybe it doesn't wake up, I don't know how to tell the difference. I have to either pull out the battery or do a hard reset sometimes.
Any suggestions as to what I should do? Go back to gingerbread? Or reinstall rocket? flash a different ROM (midnote, etc)?
Thanks everyone!

There is an app called Wake Lock or Keep Awake or something that won't let your phone get into deep sleep so it doesn't happen.
Had the same problem, I remembered from the HTC HD2 forums something about avoiding it by turning off auto-brightness.
After having 4 sleep of deaths in 3 hours, I had it once in 24 hours. Dunno if that's what affected it, but much better. Try it.
Kernel related. Flash a different one. Wipe cache and dalvik after kernel flash.
Some kernels are plagued by this problem because of kernel base used. Minor hardware changes in newer batches do not like the old kernel base.
Hi guys, I looked at forum but didn't find that anyone had the problem like me. When my Lg Optimus 2x is fully charged it blocks, shows only black screen, I can't unlock it, turn off or anything, so I must pull out the battery and put it back and only then I can turn on my phone.
Before flashing ParanoidAndroid I did full wipe. Anyone knows the reason and can I fix it somehow?

Why? The stay awake option is the perfect answer. A couple people have charging bsod problems with the cm stock kernel (like pastime himself hehe). With that option it won't happen anymore.

Thanks.
This problem started since i was in kdv7.4 and my kernel was glnote core forgot what version it was the last version before hydracore.. using oc version and my voltage group is B
Here is the bug
Some times when i use the phone something appears in my screen its like a black and white wave going down.. after that black and white wave i will soon lose my signal.. at the same time i notice that the gnote is very hot.
I upgraded my kernel to hydracore still the same issue happening( tried to report my prob in the hydracore forum if someone can help me there apparently none)
The above bug was not that irritating yet because the bug will only last for about 5-8seconds..
Now i change my rom to asylum aokp rom v2.0 the problem got worst
The phome usualy goes very hot radomly even without playing games.. then black and white wave going to occur and will shut my mobile signal this will last in a minute.. to solve the prob i need to plug in a charger... tried to ask in asylum forum if they had the same bug they said that their rom is fully stable. And also sometimes when this problem occurs my phone just automatically turn off.. (battery around 50-70 percent) when i try to turn it on again battery now 1 percent dont know why??? Can some one help me with this??? I always do a clean install of roms and kernels.. help please..
Here is the video showing that bug http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OMqXzJKeqo&feature=youtu.behttp://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OMqXzJKeqo&feature=youtu.be

+1 :good:
Once I had a real nasty battery drain, about 1%/min. Solved it with battery calibration. But never experienced such drain as you describe and don't know how to solve that yet. Does this happen even directly after clean rom installation, or could it be any app or tweaking settings you do afterwards? Do you have the time to check CPU+GPU speed when you notice your note suddenly start becoming hot, and also apps CPU usage, before it crash? Maybe you can get a hint there. Does the same thing happen if you start phone in Safe Mode? It's a good idea to backup rom before you boot into Safe Mode.

Not sure what u mean by 'Better', every kernel has its good and bad side.
Also try moving to Standard version instead of Overclocked. Some Note can not handle OC.

Hi Pierre.. I saw your video and I too am puzzled on what's causing your phone to just suddenly turn off.
just out of curiosity, you did not install some overclocking apps on your phone right? no tegrak mumbo jumbo stuffs to change or speed up your phone before right?
Now if your not using any overclocking apps... you can try using a different brand new battery on your phone and see if the issue still persist after.
Replace your battery.
I believe this is caused by your battery because i get that wave when i use a non original battery ( some cheap ****ty battery ) and that wave starts when im at low battery.
you can borrow from your friends to see whether im right or not

I mean, cleaning (not clearing..my apology :silly.. wipe clean the battery contacts at the back of your phone before you put in the replacement one.
go back to stock gb, clean install nothing custom, no root.
Test again, reproducible?
Yes, then Samsung service centre
No, incompatibility with what you had installed Dont go back, unless you install newest versions everything
Send it to samsung service .. they said that my battery port(at the back) was grounded that was the cause of it that also made my battery bloated.. they will change the whole motherboard for warranty.. Back to Scratch..
