My phone is stuck in a bootloop, it cannot get past the initial HTC screen, every third time it tries to boot into recovery (CWM) but that only flashes up for less than a second before it goes back to a black screen.
I have been trying to get it to boot into bootloader so i can reflash the recovery but holding Power and Volume Up (and just holding Volume Up) doesn't seem to do it. It's worth noting that whenever I have tried to reboot the phone by just holding the Power button it does not work, the lights just blink forever.
I have also tried running the adb reboot-bootloader command continuously (as quick as my fingers will let me press up and enter) and I can't seem to catch it there.
The phone won't even stay off, it just keeps trying to boot.
Do you have any ideas of things I can try? At the moment I can only think to let the battery run out but it was well charged and has been on USB for a while. I do need this phone to work.
Thanks in advance.
Edit:
The problem occured when I tried reinstalling Android Revolution HD 10.2, I had done this earlier today but wanted to change one of the options in Aroma. Aroma crashed very near the end and the phone went into Recovery, I had some warning but I picked up my phone with the power button so I didn't read it properly.
You enter the bootloader by holding Power and Volume Down (not up).
Try to get into the recovery through the bootloader and restore your nandroid before trying to flash ARHD 10.2 again.
Thanks, I guess I panicked as I should have been asleep. All I had to do was go into fastboot and clear my cache with fastboot (command: fastboot clear cache) and go straight into Recovery and Recovery worked again for any people who encounter this problem.
I experience a similar problem with my HTC One. It recently powered off and I can't start it up again, it's just a black screen and it doesn't react when pressing the power button.
When I plug it into the charger (into a socket or to the computer) it starts booting after a short while. It vibrates, the HTC "quietly brilliant" logo shows up, but then it just goes black again. A few seconds pass and it does the same thing again. Over and over.
I manage to use the Volume Down to get into the HBOOT-screen and there I have 6 choices; Fastboot, Recovery, Factory Reset, Simlock, Image Crc and Show Barcode. I read that I can go into fastboot and clear cache and it might work but I cant even get into fastboot. When I try to press any buttons it doesn't react. If I constantly press volume up or down it sometimes moves the marker, but it seems that it is "pressing" the power button all the time, because when I move it reacts directly to that menu choice. And of course, it shuts itself down after only a second.
It's a stock HTC One, nothing done with it. Recently made a factory reset because the phone locked itself.
What can I do?
EDIT: I had to return it to the store I bought it from, and they sent it on repair to Poland (where HTC apparently has their european base) and they changed the battery. Got it back after 2 weeks and it works fine again!

I have the same problem as you right now but I still can't access recovery I go into hboot and clear the cache with fastboot (fastboot erase cache) but I still can't access recovery, everytime I go on it, it say's "entering recovery..." and the screen goes blank then it goes into boot loop again. Is there any help you can give me to fix this problem? This is my first android phone and I'm really scared that I screwed it up for good.

What if the PC won't recognize the phone while in fastboot? I'm on win 8.1 64. Uninstalled and reinstalled HTC drivers. All I get is a prompt that the device is not recognized. If I try 'fastboot erase cache', it jsut sits there, saying 'waiting for device'. I get nothing listed when I run 'fastboot devices'. Any ideas?

you just need to install HTC sync and it will install drivers for you , later uninstall the htc sync only nor drivers. second try windows 7 or 8 but 32bit version , all drivers will work perfectly. hope it will work.

Hi All,
Need help here as I received a official OTA Update for 4.2.2 today.
After download the OTA package, the phone start updating the system.
But I think it failed in the middle of updating because I saw the red triangle mark appear on screen.
Now, my phone is not able to boot up and keep on stuck in the white HTC Screen.
Anyone here would give some suggestion or solution to help me overcome this issues? :crying:
Thanks for all in advance.
** My phone is non-rooted devices
This issues has been solved by download the correct RUU for my phone. Thanks all for helping me.

Is it stuck at the white HTC splash screen that says quietly brilliant or the boot up animation screen that has the beats logo on it?
If stuck at the splash screen just hold power and both volume keys to force a reboot and see if it boots up then. If it is stuck during the boot animation you may have to try a factory reset.
You may still be able to do a factory reset depending on where the update failed.
Hold power and Vol down for until it boots into the bootloader. Then press the power button again to select bootloader. In the bootloader list you should see factory rest, use volume keys to highlight it and power to select it.
This will wipe all your data you had saved on the internal storage, but that would be better than a non booting phone.
Best of luck.

Yes, a proper RUU should be able to reset you to 100% stock if your weren't rooted or S-Off.

Crushalot I have a similar issue with my HTC one like xiang5377. Except my phone is stock no root nothing, actually it was given to me to root. It has been a long time since I have rooted a phone and im lost here. My friend got the phone online which might have been his first mistake, second I believe it was from China. In any case lt me explain what has gone on, I have been looking for instructions in unlocking bootloader in fastboot mode which is not an issue, I found it but I am unable to get to the bootloader by pressing power key and VOL down.....strange so I looked under settings to turn off fastboot and the option wasn't there at all. When I press VOl down and power key it goes to some strange looking menue in Chinese REALY! OK so I searched Google and fopund a post that suggested it might be a fake. So I tried VOL up and power key and it took me another strange looking screen. I actually had the option for "normal" "fastboot" and something else:fingers-crossed: Nothin stayed at that same screen for ever....so I pressed VOl down and power and it reset. I went back to that screen gain picked the one option should not have and now im stuck at htc quietly brilliant sceen:crying: I have tried all kinds of key options and still nothing NED HELP!! I am unsure if the phone is internal sprint T-Mobile etc... 100% stock.

Might need some screen shots. It sounds like it may be a fake HTC One. Can you look at the bootloader screen on this fake and see if yours is similar:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362301
Or look here:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/14/fake-htc-one-plastic-mt6589/
If it is one the fakes then I'm not sure what to advise other than trying to return it and get a genuine unit.
If it is real then we might be able to do something. Are you able to reboot it by holding both volumes (up and down) plus the power buttons for 15+ seconds? It should cause it to reboot.

NO joy on reboot. I looked at that video and it seems to be the fake one, might explain why I wasn't able to get to the bootloader normally. This sucks now I will have to explain to my lieutenant that he got a fake one and I might have bricked it lol! What would you try next if it were real, or will I have to wait till it dies and still run the risk of it not booting up normally again. I was never able to get to normal bootloader.
---------- Post added at 04:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 PM ----------
Also looking at the video, it had the same black menu not the white menu I have seen in other videos, indicating a newer OS. It also did not show fastboot option under settings/power option
http://imageupload.co.uk/files/36ha7p8hdv926l90b0l6.jpg
On the pic above I actually clicked on: [UART Boot] option and im stuck
If it was real, it would respond to the normal reboot commands and allow us to reboot the OS if working or boot to fastboot so we can use fastboot commands to see exactly what we were working with and decide the next move.
In you case, you may just have to wait until the battery dies and then perhaps it will boot normally, as it seems the clones don't have the same button commands to perform operations. You could try different combinations of button holding to see if it will reboot.
There may also be some more information on the Chinese forums, but could be hard for a English speaker to navigate and fin the info needed.
If the seller sold the device as a genuine HTC One then, obviously that is illegal and you could try to use that angle to force them to return it.
Best of luck.

i recently attempted to unroot my sprint HTC one by running an RUU.exe. it wiped the data on the device but could not restore it because it was an incompatible version. I'm supposed to be running 3.04.651.21. so i tired doing it manually from the command prompt and no the phone gets past the HTC logo screen but just keeps flashing a blank screen. how can I either fix this or remove the "tampered" and "relocked" dialogue at the top of the boot loader screen for warranty?
Well, first attempt to flash a recovery again so you can get into recovery and then see if you can Wipe Data/FDR through(Preferably) TWRP and see what happens
put it under strong light (may be the flash from another phone) and hold down the shutdown button for 20 seconds approx. After turn off, now you can enter hboot and flash recovery

I had a similar problem with my phone.
What I did was instead of trying to get into recovery, I just went to fastboot and flashed the recovery image again and it work.
You may want to try that. (Flash the custom recovery again).
He cant do that, dont try flash recovery, your bootloader is locked, it wont work.
Hold volume down and power button, you will see home and back flash at the bottom, just keep holding till your phone goes off, then hold then volume down only as the phone restarts, should take you into the bootloader.
What did you do to get it stuck in a boot loop ?

I seem to have a similar issue. The problem is that I do not have enough time to select recovery (nor any other option) from the bootloader menu. The phone reboots again before I can choose and confirm my selection. Any pointers?

You have bootloop in the bootloader? If yes then you have a serious problem, probably hard bricked.
My phone is completely unrooted, I just did a quick weak sauce root back on 4.4 which was patched with 5.0 I Uninstalled weaksauce2 and my phone has been unrooted and locked ever since. Suddenly I got a restart message in the middle of using my phone and my phone started looping yesterday.
When I try to enter the bootloader I can't do anything. The second I try to scroll down it splashes the HTC logo and then restarts.
Turning off the phone and turning it back on and attempting to enter bootloader doesn't fix anything, I can't access recovery. The closest I can come to operating the bootloader is mashing the power button to select fastboot, which just causes the screen to go black instead of splash the HTC logo before looping again.
Is there any way to fix this (or at least get the data off of it) or is my phone officially hard bricked?
Bump.

If your bootloader is unstable there not much you can do. Are you able to post the output of "fastboot getvar all"? Does "fastboot oem rebootRUU" brings you in RUU mode?
