Could attempt it on a test build on CM7, works there from what it looks like.
Just wanted to chime in here on the subject.
Did some searching today and it lead me to the threat linked above, downloaded and flashed through rom manager. First boot took a bit longer than it usually does, thought I got stuck in a boot loop. However, I can confirm this works on the lates pre-alpha cm build!
I had to create another google account to test it out, but low and behold it actually works!
I didn't see any other posts in the thunderbolt forum acknowledging this so I thought I would let you all know.
A family member of mine has a stock tbolt and I got the latest BAMF GB Tom on mine. She texted me today and by her info in the text I had the green video camera. I hit it, it called her and I could see and hear her. She doesn't live in a 4g area nor hooked up to wifi at the moment, but for whatever reason, like I said I could see her and hear just fine. So looks like it might work from 2.2 to 2.3 with better circumstances. Hopes this helps.

I finally got gtalk video and audio working for two way calls on gingerbread
The solution has been out, but I guess I just didn't do a good job of googling. Flash this Google Package File in recovery after wiping cache and davlik.
You can also just read the thread where I got it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793. The same file is listed under "to install" step#2, Alternate3.
After installing this, my Gmail app was missing so I installed it from the market. I had to install the thing twice before it finally worked b/c it force closed on me with the first install.
I haven't tested the calls on wifi yet, but it was clear on 3g. Only gripe I have is that the camera view is rotated.

Hey thanks
Did you have a look at BoardConfig.mk, there are a bunch of defines that are relevant to the gfx (or lack thereof). Maybe we could track within cm-7.0.3 where those defines are used. In addition I've PM'd arco on this very subject, hoping he replies soon.

I'm looking for a better ROM for my mom's Wildfire, being an Oxygen user myself I'm convinced an AOSP ROM is the way forward.. Video recording is no problem, so this looks like the perfect solution.
But I'm a bit confused, what exactly does this mean? What about it doesn't work...?

Sounds awesome. I'm just going to put a list of suggested ROMs together for my mom to choose from... So I may still include this one in that list anyway. Anyway, I'll refrain from hijacking this thread with stuff like this.
I was just curious as to what xanthrax meant in his post. xdbg, you seemed to follow what he said, what issue was it with the Gmail servers..? Unfortunately I don't own a Wildfire, so I can test it myself to see..
Hi,
Please do not use this rom. Use DevNull, it has more bugfixes and updates. Also uses less battery.

Yesssssss.......
downloading now, will flash
The needing to use trackball to navigate is due to this being from the SDK ROM as that doesn't have touchscreen support only mouse and keyboard. I wonder if pulling those relevant files from gingerbread would help.

I've found that in order for it to register "touches" with the trackpad, you need to move your finger a tiny bit while it's pressed down

As far as I know, no. However, when CM7 is finished, MIUI is easy to port. MIUI is actually why I'm most excited about CM7
So cm7 got updated very few things left to fix. Now that brings us back to miui is anyone going to try to port it now.

The cm7 build is directly related to miui afaik. Isn't miui basically built off cm? Maybe once cm is done a miui port will come out.

If it weren't for the poor customer service at bell I wouldn't have had this phone a week after I bought it. I'm considering bringing that up with one of their supervisors and pushing for a galaxy s2 since they're just so easy to mod. The hardware keyboard is more of a gag than anything else for me, I have a multi-touch screen and swype ...
so any new news on this i saw the dx2 got a miui port so that may help us(hopefull).

Works for me! I have the commute notification this morning too!
Seems to be stable and voice is working online and offline for local (phone) searching.
It does however think it takes 25 minutes to travel 12 miles, guess Google doesn't know I have a motorbike!

Works on ice cold dsandwich. My language is Danish which is not supported by voice search yet, so I will have to wait and see, if there are any real benefits.
I have to use the voice search widget. The normal (better looking) quick search widget or the Apex persistens search bar only works as before.
I had to turn on voice search to get it working, then turned it back off again. Seems to still work fine
The phone seems more sluggish now, but I will give it some time to settle in and see how it goes.
Anyone else have this experience?
Seems like it doesn't work that great on MIUI... Maybe the partition is a little small?
I have the same issues as everyone is having on MIUI, but I have over 100 MB free on my system partition, so I don't think that's the issue. I have posted the relevant logcat in the main thread, hopefully someone there can help
I have just removed it. Seemed to be using a fair bit more battery than I'm used too.
