Does anyone have the extended batter and also the docking station. If so does the d3 with extended battery installed fit in the docking station?

Yes. The extended battery + cover only adds like 1mm of thickness to the Droid 3.

It's sold by verizon wireless and is a motorola original extended battery:

yeah, that's the one I have. Works out great.
I have both and it works fine.
Yep, extended battery from Verizon/Moto fits quite well in the dock.
Those blue and purple snap on cases though? Not so much. The screen will barely slide and basically gets stuck if you have the extended battery. Doesn't matter though, my gf thought I might want one but turns out we gotta take it back since it doesn't fit.
Yes - and it also fits on the car dock.
People are using the the extended battery cover?
Mine fit just fine with the factory cover... it makes me wonder why they didn't just ship these phones with an extended battery in the first place.

I live in a very hot area. I use the cover just so the battery has room to expand from the heat.
Is it possible to order these outside USA?
I'd like to get the extended battery/cover, but being in Australia could be a problem...
You could consider a service like Borderlinx.
Okay, i'll consider it. Thank you.
I have the extended battery, the verizon case/holster, and the dock. While the verizon case DOES support the extended battery, its very difficult to fit the phone on the dock (with the insert removed) while in the verizon case with the extended battery. It says right on the box for the case that its compatible with the dock and the ext. battery but it took me several minutes to get it to fit, and even then, it felt really tight like it didn't want to sit properly in the cradle. This pisses me off.
I have both and it works. I will say that the docking station is a bit of a let down compared to the original docking station I used with the Droid1 and 2.
It's not weighted.
The phone doesn't slide in/out of it nearly as easily as the Droid 1 / 2 setup.
The USB port is for charging only, it's not a passthrough if connected to a computer.
Wouldn't buy it again.
Anyone have a feel for like the % improvement in average battery life with the extended battery?

I consider myself a heavy user and I went from my phone dying 1/3 of the day to the phone lasting all day. I'd say a good investment.
So factory cover is ok to use? If order, no need for new cover?
Oh i see. I need to do that as well.
I found this from Amazon,

2800mAh with back door
What's the deal with inductive charging on this baby? I know it supports it, but I don't see any accessories that do it. Is it just a generic thing to find and buy?
We'll have to wait for some kind of accessory that fits the Bionic with an inductive charging back, either from Motorola themselves, or from a third-party.
The inductive back is available through verizon online and in store for most stores form what i understand but the charger itself doesnt seem to be available yet.
Does anyone know if the Verizon inductive back will work with a power mat charger?

Yes, I spoke to a Verizon customer service rep and they confirmed the power mat does work with the bionic it just hasn't been updated on the website to reflect that. As a side note I ordered the inductive cover and the power mat yesterday online and received a 25% discount on both items.

The duracell charging mat works.
From my understanding you have to use a mat that is Qi enabled for the Inductive back to work. The only charger pads out with that currently are the Verizon one they sell on their site for $69 or the Energizer Inductive pad. Powermat and the Duracell pads are not Qi.

No IT DOES NOT. you have to use a Qi compatible charge pad like the ducacell one or the verizon one
Inductive Charger and Cover pictures
I just got the inductive charging mat and the cover from Verizon (when I ordered it last Friday it was all 25% off). Thought I would post the pictures for anyone interested. By the way I weighed the phone now and it weighs 168 grams, it definitely added a little weight but not much.

Hey, can you post some pictures of the cover by itself? Also, is there a battery that gets included with it? And how does it connect to the phone itself? Does it use the contacts next to the battery slot? Thanks.
I will post those pictures soon. The inductive cover doesn't come with a battery, just the cover. If you pop the cover off your Bionic you'll see a little connector about half way down on the right side of the battery. That's where it connects, again I'll post pictures in a little while. I do have to say, I've been using it for a few days now and it's awesome, a wire free lifestyle is where it's at!
Update: Picture of inductive cover added, let me know if you want any more pictures.

Do they have a inductive charger with extended battery plate our do we have to take it off the regular one and glue it to the extended cover? Ghetto

I love mine too! It will even charge through the shell case with the Kickstand! I really wish I could find a gel silicone case to go with the inductive charging cover though.
I don't use a case on mine but it's good to know that the induction works through a case, I'm actually pretty impressed with that fact since, prior to the Bionic my OG Droid and DX never were compatible with anything when they were in cases

Yeah I read your post yesterday... Very creative! But I was hoping to see if somebody had any luck with the Moto ext. And the moto wireless charger because I bought both hoping to rig it. Having trouble figuring out how to extend the power lead

Has anyone heard of any powered cases coming out for the Droid 4? Similar to this for the Kindle Fire?
It is a bit silly the battery isn't removable. You can see it, you're just not supposed to touch it
Given it has contact points for the induction charger, it should be doable with a battery that integrates as a replacement back cover.
Has anyone modded their Bionic Lapdocks or HD Docks to fit with the OEM extended battery and cover? If so, do you have any pics? I am considering buying a couple of the OEM extended batts (http://www.verizonwireless.com/extended-battery-w-cover.shtml) but want to see how difficult it would be to get them to fit in the Lapdock and HD dock, otherwise will just stick with the stock battery. From what I have seen of pictures/videos of the Bionic with the extended battery is that it really does not make it that much thicker. Hopefully, it will fit into docks/lapdock without any modding, but I doubt it. Any info, pics, would be helpful.
Note: Forum member csshih was able to mod an Atrix Lapdock with the Bionic w/Extended Battery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374743&highlight=lapdock&page=2)..see post#14. However, I was wondering if anyone has done the same with the specific Bionic Lapdock. Also, hopefully you have some pics. Well, thanks in advance.
I have the car dock (made FAR more useful by freezing the stupid car-dock app), it fits the extended battery/case perfectly (has an insert to address different sizes of phone...oddly, the insert has to be in there for the extended battery case) you have to take off whatever protective case you are using tho
Thank you for the information.
i have a droid 3, and to use an extended battery like that (goo.gl/6RJw1) i need to have a special case or i can just put it instead of the stock battery?

The Motorola official extended battery is physically thicker, and normally requires a special door -- and this extra door makes it not fit most cases, or into the car or multimedia dock very well.
That said, there is a very simple solution I have been using for ~13 months... I didn't use the modified door. I put the battery in, and I put my case on, without the battery door. The extra thickness of the battery itself is the same thickness as the door adds, so the official hardbody Motorola case fits perfectly. I have *never* had a problem with the battery falling out or losing contact. As a plus, the multimedia dock comes with a removable insert to accommodate the official hardbody case -- and since the case has a flat back, the car dock has no issues, either.

Anyone ever use one of those 2600mAh extended batteries that sell for about $6 on ebay??
I want to get an extended battery but I hate how it makes the phone loon and that hump it gives it,just feels weird. Those 3500mAh batteries wont work for me,so I was thinking maybe the 2600mAh versions would be ok...

I have a 1930mAh BFX6 battery and it only JUST fits. One of the edges can't close 100% so there's a 0.1mm gap. Might differ between droid 3 models, that small of a gap.
But if the battery would be any thicker than the 1930 one it won't fit the stock cover
any extended battery for honor holly suggestion ......thanks in advance
