Hi everyone,
I have a bell htc raider (Canada).
Its S-OFF'd, rooted, and has clockwork recovery.
Can i Run one of the new ICS roms available such as :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585373
I read somewhere that i need to update something using a special file, however this file is only available for the ATT model and not the BELL version.
Thanks.

If you are S OFF then you can update your hboot and THEN install a custom ROM. Go to the same website you went to for S OFF. There is a downloads section with a bunch of files, download the "holiday ICS" one and follow the instructions. After that, you are set.
thanks for the info.
the only file i can find at htcdev.com for my phone is
holiday-2.6.36-crc.tar.gz
is this what you are referring to?

Are you s off or just bootloader unlocked? You need to go to the site you did s off at. Htcdev is not the site you did s off at.
Just go to the superguide in my signature. Start at the s off step, I have a link in there to the ics hboot.

Had to sign up to spread news. HTC have added salsa to unlocked bootloaders today. At last!!!. Van someone post this in development thread as I can't.
have you tried??? i cant update HBOOT, cant get identifier token either... im on RUU 1.12.720.3 (INDIA)
yes ive tried, failed several times. cannot update hboot, which requires and update on the rom too.
all i want is roms, sod the bootloader, mines already opened up
I originally was with 3 but switched recently to vodafone, worst mistake of my life but I recd the hboot update via update option on my phonesabout menu, sorry im a complete newb. I have succesfully unlocked hboot but still working on a custom recovery as it tells me the one recommended here is out of date. I updated rom as well via instuctions on unlock page. Hope this helps others. I acheived root via super one click v3.
On HTC site they also give list of RUU and HBOOT update needed with a link
Sorry for repeated posts. Not used to this. I apologise if I break any rules but after updating HBOOT via OTA I made sure by following instructions on HTC unlock site.
This is text I saw that was different to previous times I had attempted to do this.
BEFORE beginning the Unlock Bootloader process your product requires that you update the ROM to the version listed in the table below first, then download the RUU next to it to enable the unlocking capability.
To install the RUU, simply follow these instructions:
On your phone, enable USB debugging. (From the Home screen, MENU > Settings > Applications > Development > Check USB debugging)
Connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable that came with your phone. Wait a moment for your computer to identify your phone, this may take a few minutes.
If your computer cannot find your phone, you may need to install HTC Sync. You can download HTC Sync here.
After your computer has found your phone, double click on the RUU to start the process.
Follow the on screen instructions to finish flashing the RUU on your phone.
NOTE: If you encounter an error while flashing your phone, it’s possible that the connection to your phone was interrupted. Simply exit the program, disconnect your phone and start over.
Fully exit the RUU to ensure there is no conflict of multiple instances of the program running.
Disconnect the USB cable from both the phone and the computer.
After a few moments, reconnect the USB to the computer and phone. See above if your phone or computer cannot find each other.
Run the RUU.
Disclaimer: You may not be able to get further FOTA updates once the RUU was applied to your device.

hi BigBear,
i wonder if i can root my salsa, since i only unlock it from htcdev, but the security still on (S-ON), what difference does it make between locked bootloader and unlocked, since there's nothing different in my phone and i still cant root even with this instruction
edit:
hi, i want to confirm that i succeed rooting my phone with unlocked bootloader by htcdev, S-ON, using this method here

Yes, you need to do some research. One option you will have is to use the procedure that is documented in the HBOOT 1.16/2.00 Downgrade Tool thread to be able gain true S-OFF. The other option is to use the Unlock bootloader procedure at HTCDEV.com. In both cases you will need to get familiar with the Android SDK tools adb.exe and fastboot.exe, so I suggest you do some more research.
Let me share from the GURU of Android on XDA Senior Member, YOU DONT NEED TO DOWNGRADE TO HBOOT 1.13 to Install Costum Rom. And I've follow that instruction how to do that I have made for my Inc S hboot 1.16 S-On.
Yes,first thing you should go htcdev to unlock bootloader and flash with CWM or 4EXT witch one. And you can install any costum rom from the bigger chief. Before do that after flash e.g Clockwork, you should Nandroid Backup. Pls consider to Backup your htc orig.rom and then you wipe, factory reset.and install costum rom om your SDcard....

I tried unlocking the bootloader from htcdev. I followed the instructions and did everything that was supposed to. I got the success message as well.
I just started the mobile. It shows "Unlocked" in rose color on the top. Same time it shows S - ON on the next line.

With the bootloader in an UNLOCKED state, you can now install ClockworkMod recovery (CWM) and once you have CWM installed you can flash custom ROMs. Check the sticky posts in this forum for the steps you need to follow.

Is there a beats audio belt in, as in at&t build?
Question
Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm guessing this is the flashable zip by recovery same as any other ROM right?, has any one tested this already??
Thanks!
This file is the OTA update file you will get only when you have Bell's stock GB ROM already installed on the Raider. It is not a complete ROM, and if your CID is not BM___001 it will not let you update.
There is no Beat Audio in this ROM.
any luck getting this installed on a stocked rooted bell raider?
I don't really want to wipe again, buddy of mine tried by locking bootloader removing superuser but it failed.
If you are rooted, with unlocked bootloader, and SuperCID your phone, the update will not apply properly, it will even display a message saying your phone's software has been modified and stops right there.
You will probably have to start fresh again.
I managed to flash it on Roger's Raider (to use on Bell).
I was gonna write a tutorial but wasn't sure how many will actually need it the exact same way I do, here is the short version of what I did:
I was already using AT&T ICS (already have s-off, supercid, etc)
1) in fastboot, change CID to BM___001
2) in fastboot, relock bootloader
3) in fastboot, flash Bell GB RUU
4) boot into OS, update to ICS (right from "System Updates" in settings)
5) in fastboot, unlock bootloader (you will need a new unlock bin, the old one from GB didn't work for me, follow the steps at HTCDEV again)
6) in fastboot, flash custom recovery and change CID back to 11111111 if you want
7) boot into the custom recovery you just flashed, and flash supersu package
8) profit.
That's what I did anyway... let me know if anyone wants a longer version of this.
thanks but i have a stock Bell with S-ON and its just rooted. My buddie already got ICS by lock the bootloader and flashing the Bell GB RUU, but i'm looking for a way around itso i don't have to start over.
Nandroid ??

I definitely will. I'm actually ripping through it now. I think I will make a base Bell Rom with root busybox and de-odex first. then add tweaks and such. I don't get much time to "play" with it much as I work full time and have 3 young kids. but keep checking the dev forum for a new Rom ;-)

Hi, I have searched and I have tried, reaching out...
Desire C Cricket HBOOT 1.63 Radio 0.92.00.0903 Unlocked Bootloader S-On
I was trying to put a recovery on and root after unlocking bootloader and for whatever reason I cannot get into any recovery other than stock. Once in stock I cannot flash anything. Only thing I could tell was previous owner had a customer kernel on it but now I cannot get past the HTC red writing screen.
Normally in this situation I would go back to stock via PL01DIA.zip update in bootloader but I cannot find a viable one for this specific device.
OK, somehow got a working CWM Recovery. But I cannot get any roms to boot past the HTC red writting screen. Does anyone out there have a full CWM backup of a working Cricket rom?

Thanks guys! Sorry for bugging around this forum. Anyone with CDMA ping me, I'm not finding any friends I need a clean back up of any Cricket rom from CWM since it looks like the RUU was never made.
Or, if anyone knows how to change the CID on this phone without S-off. Just looking to make it an MP3 player.
