Hi everyone !
I got a small problem with my Galaxy S i9000,sometime when im on some apps he instantly reboot or restart. It could be a software problem or phone problem?I have 2.3.6 XXJVU rooted version from the last man that i bought from him . I want to downgrade my software from rooted to official update. Can anyone help me pls? :d
THX !
no problems
nothin to worry . its just a software problem . follow these steps to get a stable official firmware :
1) download Odin v1.3 to your PC
2) go to samfirmware.com>galaxys>official roms>download the one for your region
3)extract the zip file to a location
4)open Odin and load the PDA , phone ,Csc from what you extracted
5) SELECT THE REPARTITION CHECK BOX
6) switch off the galaxy s and hold down volume down + home button + power button . you will see a downloading screen
7)connect to the PC via USB cable
8)Odin will have a yellow code now under the white boxes
9)start and let it finish (10mins)
10) when phone boots you have official Sam firmware without root
hit thanks if I helped you
So its that a problem if i replace PDA I9000XXJVU with I9000XXJW4 or i need to have like XXJVU and CSC I9000OXAJVU with I9000OXAJW5 ( Im from Romania so the latest update is from UK,can i update with that ? ) and in odin need to select Auto Reboot and F.Reset time right?
No, no and yes they are ticked already.u turn on Odin find the files on your pc .use 3button combo to get into download mode Then connect phone to PC and wait for Odin to recognize your phone and press go.wait for it to reboot.this can take from 5-10 min
Ok ok i done it without selecting re-partition is that a problem? :d
Now how can i delete the others datas from rooted version cuz i dont want to have lag in my phone and stuff like this or it was deleted when i was updated ?
THX EVERYONE ! >< IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW CUZ I HAVE A OFFICIAL VERSION ! :d and its not gonna restart anymore
Yes you have to do repartition. After that kies should recognize your phone again and you are back on stock. PS. Don't forget the pit file
Peter
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9000 mit Tapatalk 2
so now i need to reinstall the software and select re.partition right?
its better you do!
its better flashing with repartition
your phone is factory reset once you boot so don't worry about software already on it
if u want to get rid of Sammy apps root the phone with cf-root (jw4) and get rid of it . I use titanium backup
and I forgot to mention on my previous post ! add a pit file (usually .512) u get it with the stock rom archive you downloaded. if u didn't download that seperately !
rooting doesn't upset stability and there aren't gonna be any more official updates so I reccomend cf root and semaphore kernel . don't worry . don't over clock and the phone will be as stable as a rock !
I done with the 512 pit and i dont know why its rebooting its on that GALAXY S and no want to start the apps and stuff like this what can i do ?
try flashing cf root
set the cf root file as PDA. no pit needed and uncheck repartition
if that doesn't solve it reflash the stock rom again
Ok,its very important that u do these steps to the letter,Odin is very sensitive.
1.close kies
2.open Odin
3.set the files in Odin
4.turn of your phone.remove battery, put battery back in.use 3 button combo to get to download mode.
5.NOW connect phone to PC and wait for Odin to recognize your phone
6.flash
When done it reboot by itself,do not remove the cord.let the phone fully reboot it can take up to 10 min.
it's always best to flash roms and kernels with a fully charged battery.

Hey justsimple1
Dost rush through things if you are using odin for the first time.
Gather as much info as you can by reading through forum and clear all the doubts
Download firmware and 512.pit file from samfirmware.com and extract
Steps (Which I follow)
start Odin (if on vista/7 right click and start as administrator)
Tick Re-Partition
select 512.pit file
Put phone in download mode (VLm Down + home + power)
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start"
after some time Odin will display "Reset"
Wait until Odin indicates "Pass".
Plug out your phone, remove the battery, put it back in and put phone to download mode again.
Click "Reset" button in Odin and untick "Re-Partition" box.
DO NOT select PIT file again.
if you have ony one .tar file then click PDA and select file
if three files them
Click "PDA" and select CODE file.
Click "MODEM" and select MODEM file.
Click "CSC" and select CSC file.
Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button and wait until phone reboots with the new software version.
This method was originally posted by Richthofen (all credits to him), I have used it sucessfully over several flashes.
Which version of odin is bestv and is there an official site to download it from
Sent from my GT-I9000M using XDA App
hi XDA members ..
am kinda new on this stuff "noob".
i bought my sgs (GT I9000) from KSA with (and am not sure) I9000JPJG8 frimware.
the whole story is that i tried to upgrade to froyo but the process didn't when well and odin was stuck. so i ignorantly pulled the usb out, and had that phone->attention-> pc sign. but i was able to get to download mode. later i noticed that i used a I9000M froyo firmware.
anyway, i read through threads about semi-bricked sgs and found that i must reflash again my stock firmware, and that's what i did.
the odin flash is successful and the phone shows the galaxy s startup screen and then that loading sign and the loop starts ( loading sign appears - disappears -appear again ..etc) i pulled out the battery and powered it on to have a Galaxy s startup screen loop also.
i can't get to recovery mode, and here the names of the firmware i used to flash:
I9000JPJG8
I9000JPJPG
I9000JVJPF
I9000UGJH2
i need the firmware to have arabic support so that's why those above where my choices, but i wouldn't mind losing arabic for z sake of my new sgs
sorry if my english is bad
suggestions???!! and thanx in advance
have you been flashing these firmwares with PIT file ??
i think thats whats needed,
try to flash stock eclair 2.2 or froyo 2.2.1 with all 3 files and 512 pit.
i tried all .pit files to no avail...
and what do u mean by eclair 2.2 , isn't it 2.1 ??! and do u mean pit512 , 513 , 803 by the 3 files or what?
thx for replying
edit:
do u recommend certain odin version because i don't know which to use exactly ?
yea sorry i mean eclair 2.1
whenever i have trouble like you, i flash JM1 in all 3 files (phone pda csc ) and 512 pit, with the repartition box in odin checked.
works a treat everytime
i tried it but it stopped in z middle and odin said (FAIL)
have you made sure KIES is closed, even in the icon tray ??
Are you using odin 1.7 ??
also try to connect your phone direct to the motherboard
if it still fails, post me a screenshot of what odin looks like before you press start
oh my .. kies was closed in icon tray but there were some kies related stuff running when i opened the tasked manager. but unfortnately nothing happened , same things are still there.
here z pic , doing the method u mentioned before
h*tp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/696/odink.png/
right the problem is you are using a firmware compressed into 1 .tar file
remove the pit file - uncheck re partition
remove phone
remove CSC
all you want is OJP_JG9.tar loaded into PDA.
A MAJOR UPDATE ..
while waiting for replies i tried this method in this post using eugene froyo :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10498057&postcount=14
suprisingly my phone now changed to vibrant on start-up and has z following :
froyo 2.2
baseband T959UVJK2
kernel 2.6.32.9
now that it is alive .. can i shift to z froyo 2.2 with arabic support or do u suggest that i stick to it ?
i think i'll change since everything is messed up ..
vol. buttons are reversed .. music is not played through speaker unless head-phones are used .. numerous apps crashing ..
man am soo confused
you have flashed samsung vibrant on your samsung galaxy
that is why you have these problems !
did you download a GALAXY I9000 ROM ?? if not do so now.
Flash it in odin.
If it comes in 3 files (PDA, Phone, CSC) add 512 PIT and select re-partition
If it comes in 1 .tar file. Load it into PDA and DO NOT USE PIT OR REPARTITION
hit start and done, its so simple.
you really ought to read instructions before you go flashing ROMs.
i really did but it looks like i didn't pay attention to GT I9000/M thing ..
ok thanx for z help and i'll reply back when done with z ROM
i hate to be demanding but can u give me links cause am sick of downloading wrong files ((

so now my phone powers off when connected with usb ... what shall i do ????
can you boot into recovery ? if so do a full factory reset and try again. and try to flash a rom in recovery (if you have 2e)
i have no idea why the phone powers off with usb.
does it do this in download mode too ??
did you flash a stock rom ?? if so what rom did you choose
i flashed eugene froyo
should i use I9000 method or vibrant method for recovery ??
i got into recovery when i flshed the vibrant rom back then .. :s
edit: a question , have i lost z root thing when i flashed the vibrant or not ?
first of all enter download mode . Try this method ( press home and volume down and insert the usb conected at pc ) , and flash darky resurection 9.2 or ezrom 2.2.1 , i think both have bootloaders , I prefer ezrom ( saved my phone after CM7 or miui )
CM9 nice but not ready .... ok, because I'm a noob I have a big problem. I have my new SGS (i9000 3.2.3firmware) with cf-root 2.6 from here (*http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108*). Yesterday put CM9 on it from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363593) .. and this morning I do not like it..*so I open cwm and tap to restore from backup ... now my galaxy wont open again... what can i do now??
and odin can see my phone in download mode....
sorry for my bad english, i can speek only greek and german...
did you have a backup to begin with?
if odin can see your phone in download then just flash another rom
It doesn't work because the stock partitions are different to CM9. Flash a stock version of whatever you had before in odin with repartition, then a kernel. Then you should be able to restore your backup from CWM
As posted above. The partitions between CM & stock are different. I did exactly what you did. With the same result.
You can get a stock rom from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
Once you have a stock rom you need to use Odin to install it. You will need to have all three files & the pit file. (phone, modem, csc, pit - 512).
Make sure Kies is not running & open Odin. Click re-Partition. Click PIT & select your pit file, Click PDA & select file with PDA in name, click phone select file with phone in name, click CSS & select file with CSC in name.
Once you are ready with this start phone in download mode. Once in download mode attach phone to usb cable wait for top left corner to go green & click start.
This can take some time but once complete phone should restart. At this point my phone got stuck (either boot loop or black screen I can't remember)
If this happens don't panic just remove phone from USB & restart odin. Now make sure re-partition is unchecked & select the three previous files again, don't select pit file. Again put phone in download mode (you may need to pull battery first) wait for Odin to be ready & click start. This time when the phone reboots it should start although this can take a little longer than usual.
Once started I always like to reboot a couple times & clear cache & do factory reset in recovery.

4. Make sure you have the phone’s battery charged to at least 40-50%.
Now that you have everything now you need to go and set Odin.
1. On ODIN select the OPS button and load the Cooper_v1.0.ops file unto it. Ensure that the Auto-Reboot, Protect OPS and Reset Time is checked.
2. Unzip the firmware .Zip file in a folder If you get have the contents in .TAR (or .tar.md5), Check “One Package” option on the left side & skip PDA, Phone, CSC, BOOT options & directly go to ‘One Package’ option. Browse for the .tar (or .tar.md5) file & select it
3.enter into dwld mode
4.click on start
the whole process wud take arnd 5 mins.if it bootloops on restarting.enter into recovery(home + power button) n erase caches.

Help !!!
Please respond if possible.
I have a rom based on CM 7.2, where the system ext4, Data ext4 and cache to ext4, and I want to go back to the stock rom gingerbread 2.3.3 via Odin 4.38. Do I have previously converted to the RFS or they can just install it over the original rom.
I've tried all over this tutorial but after I Odin says he managed to install the phone reboots and the samsung logo and spins it repeatedly.
Help.
Thanks for your reply.
Hope you guys can help me.
Was updating my ICS (Criskelorom) to JB 4.1.2 XXLT6 ROM of Philz (PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5) via Odin 3.07. Initially had some issues but, managed to get to where Odin resulted in a PASS. On REBOOT I only get up to the Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 screen with a yellow ! triangle at the bottom. I was able to get to both Recovery and Download modes but would never get passed to homescreen and just stay on black screen.
Did it several times and got worried I'd brick my phone so I ran the ICS zip I had stored on my SD via Recovery mode and was able to get my phone running. Still want to pursue my JB upgrade though but, not sure if I was doing it right. Any help would be much appreciated guys.
Here is what I did...
MADE SURE OF THE FF.:
1) Install USB driver for Samsung Galaxy Note to transfer files between the phone and the computer using download of KIES from Samsung site
2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone to connect the Android device with the computer
3) created a back-up of my contacts only
4) charged to above 80% battery charge
5) The phone should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier - I had unlocked it during my ICS upgrade from the GB original OS
THEN FOLLOWED THE STEPS:
Step-1: Download PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 for Samsung Galaxy Note to the computer
Step-2: Download Odin 3.07 which will help to install the root package on the phone. Extract the Odin zip to get Odin3 v3.07.exe file with some other files
Step-3: Place the Galaxy Note into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot appears on the phone's screen. Now press the Volume Up button to continue to enter into Download Mode
Step-4: Run Odin3 v3.07.exe as an Administrator
Step-5: Connect the Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait for some time until Odin detects the phone. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn yellow with the COM port number. Also, the successful connection will be indicated by a message saying Added in Odin.
Note: If the Added message does not come then try another US port, try the one located at the back side of the computer. If Odin still fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver
Step-6: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 file
Step-7: Now configure the Odin settings. Ensure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. As for the Re-Partition, uncheck the option
Step-8: Once everything is set, click the Start button in Odin. The installation should begin now and would take about few minutes to complete
Step-9: When the installation process is completed the phone will restart automatically. And soon a PASS message with green background will appear in the Odin indicating successful installation. After the home screen appears on the phone, unplug the USB cable from the device to disconnect it from the computer
Was able to reach Step-9 but my phone would not get to home screen.
Please help me with any advise anyone can give me?
thanks.
By the way, saw another option for Steps 5-6:
Step-5: Connect your Note N7000 with your PC using a data cable. Once the device is successfully connected, you will see a notification in Odin in the bottom left saying Added!! - if for some reason, you do not see the said notification, try another USB port. Also, check for ID:COM port being depicted by a number in yellow to make sure that you have successfully added your device.
Select the following files in Odin at their respective tabs from extracted XXLT6 firmware folder:
Step-6:
Click the PDA button to select the .tar file extracted earlier.
Click the Phone button, and select file with *modem* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Next, click the CSC button, and select file with *csc* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Click the PIT button to select the .pit file. (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Ensure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options selected in Odin window. Also ensure to select Re-Partition checkbox only if you are using a .pit file.
Except since I only had the TAR file I ignored the rest so I assumed I was doing it right up to that point. Also, the YELLOW highlight in Odin 3.07, wasn't yellow but kind of light blue.
That was it. All I did. Still, not succesful.
Please help.
Thanks.
Phew! That's a lot to read.. The file you are trying to flash is just a kernel not a whole rom. That's why your phone after the flash has a JB kernel and ICS rom. That's why the phone does not boot. To upgrade to JB, download a stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin the same way just in PDA of Odin.

Sorry about the read. =)
Was thinking I'd rather be complete than have anyone helping need to ask more clarifications to help me. =D
Oh that's why. Thanks for the reply. I will do that.
So I need to get the WHOLE ROM from the site you mentioned. A ROM that is complete, Kernel and all. Actually I thought I did get a complete ROM. Did not realize it was just a Kernel. What would be the best way to determine if a ROM is complete? What is usually the size of the file itself? The one I downloaded was like 8MB so I thought that was pretty big. Kinda looked for awhile for that XXLT6 original JB ROM so didn't stop to think if it was just a Kernel. My bad.
By the way, are the ROMs on Sammobile rooted? Or do I need to root them?
thanks again!

They are just stock roms, to root again use the philz kernel but for jb this time. Also use the .zip this time instead of tar file, you can flash the zip file from stock recovery itself. You can raed more in philz kernel thread

Got it, thank you Sirs you've all been a very big help. I ran into some issues with TW right after completing the install of 4.1.2. Every darn thing was stopping even acore and TW. Was about to chicken out and go back to my safety ICS ROM when I got to read some stuff about needing to Clear/Reset on Recovery mode after any firmware flashing as well as Clearing the Cache so I did. And voila, it worked. I think I'll rest my worrying brain for now on the root. =P
I'll root it next week. I'll just have fun with it for now. Been up playing around with this for over 24hours now. Having too much fun but already drained.
Thank you again for you help!
same situation here...!!!
hello XDA ppl...
I had ICS 4.0.4 and attempted to use PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0.tar.md5.
That took me to the same situation I think... kernel for JB and ICS ROM...
I power on my phone and it gets to a GT-N7000 Note + Yellow Triangle screen and NO MORE!
I can get to PhilZ Recovery Mode or ODIN Download Mode.
That´s all...
I will attempt right now what you told the creator of this thread and update if it helped.
any help is welcome...
FIXED!!!
AWESOME!!!
My bot is back again!!!
Thanks a lot guys...
This thread worked as a charm. :victory:
1. Odin 3.0.X
2. Factory Firmware
3. Flash it as PDA.
4. No yellow triangle.
5. Removed battery and waited 5 seconds.
6. recovery mode.
7. clear data/factory reset.
Done!

Safest way to get to JB with wipe (that is formatting) is to get philz kernel for ICS and then reboot to recovery do factory reset and wipe /system /data /internal storage /cache and then reboot to download mode and flash JB from odin. Else if you dont want to loose data, just boot into download mode and flash JB using odin.

Yeah!! May be you want to start by not wiping on a stock ICS kernel.
