Hi,
I've successfully rooted my NST but can't get a version of an app I'd like. I'm looking for a .apk for the gamechanger app. The new version will not run on V2.1that the simple touch has. Does anyone know where I can find a older version that will work on 2.1?
Thanks,

Does anyone have the actual app from the market on their phone? Could you post it here and see if it'll work on our 1.6 with Eclair bits? Or if there's someone out there who could hack it like they did with the 4.0.0 maps. I could really use this kind of search feature.
indeed, looking for this one too! could come in handy
I loaded it onto my ADP1 (more details on my setup in my sig) but sadly it won't even install, as it checks for 2.1 an will tell you, that you don't have 2.1.
So either you'll have to edit the apk or some system files.
The APK is available over in this thread, and I just tried editing it to reduce the version requirements but it still isn't working fully. See my post in that thread.
Google just put it out for 1.6. Woot!

Yeah noticed it this morning! Awesome.
I want to use the mint.com app that just came out, but I'm not finding it in the market. My phone is rooted, but I've been able to find every other app that's out. Thanks.
which rom are you in. in cm5 d/s it shows.
I'm running CSDI V4 por [email protected] Does anyone know where there's a good copy of the apk?
Might be Eclair only.
no, i have it on my C'15(? pre-eclair cyanogen). just search the market for 'mint', it's there.
I used to have a version of comixology that ran on Android 2.1 but it seems to have gone missing. Does anyone have a link to an APK? I think the version was 3.0.7.3.

You could try here. Not sure if that installs yet another app store or not, so do a backup first.
Edit: sorry, I should have said that the download link is the black text where it says "Download" (doesn't look like a link) below the image. At least that's what I tried. I've poked around in the apk file and don't see anything unusual so maybe....
On Kitkat I remember the andriod app installer had a tab that showed the current app version as well as the version of the app you are wanting to install. With Lollipop 5.1.1 that seems to be missing. Seems lame not to have that functionality. What am I missing?
Now on Marshmallow now and this still is an annoying issue. Does anyone know if there is a way to compare app versions when installing new apps? I do a lot of side loading and it just seems dumb that I can't see an app's current version compared against the version of the overwriting app.

Ah, cool, thx. Will give er a try. Sure seems like this is a no-brainer for built in functionality.
Hallo,
like mentioned in the topic ... dumb like i am - I sideloaded the mobile version of the Appstore and it overwrote my Appstore in General. Im now unable to get back. If i try installing the APK appstore from my Firetv 4K its telling me, that its an older version. Also im unable to uninstall the APK because its a system app. What can i do to fix this? Can i edit somehow the APK to spoof it to a newer version than it is? if so, how? Just an idea because i was able to install it before.
Not rooted FireTV - Latest OS.
App version i installed: release-32.51.1.0.204398.0_800900410
thanks in advance

You'll want to ask in the FireTV forums; this forum is for Fire tablets.
