I just picked up 4.1 from the market on my G1. For some reason it kept force closing and saying I was 70000meters away from where I am. I even uninstalled it and rebooted. What I ended up doing was running RA recovery, entering the utility area and then using the experimental permissions fix.
Walla it runs smooth and seems to load up pretty fast. I'm on my phone and on the run. Just wanted to let others know that it does work despite all the rambling in the comments on the market.
It worked for me too, not much of an improvement if you ask me....
FC all the time and a lot slower than the old one (I'm using CM4.2.15.1)
It works great for me. I have no idea what everyone else is complaining about.
Agreed works well for me too i'm on CM 4.2.15.
It actually seems faster than before as far as scrolling around the map

Pulled off my phone after updating: Maps 4.1
Does this one have international navigation enabled or is it just the plain version?
plain ver. no international nav.
Shame
Don't suppose you know where there's a tutorial on how to edit the maps to add these features in like Brut does?
(Still looking for one but no luck yet)
just wait for brut to release it.

Thanks. Works fine on Dwang 1.17.1
Did anyone else get another update today? The Market said there was an update available, even though I already had 4.1.0 and the new version was also identified as 4.1.0. Strange.

yes I got this too, it crashes my phone
Yup, tried it 3-4 times and it completely resets the phone.
Had this too. Logcat said that the package manager crashed with an uncaught exception and the phone will therefore reboot.
I solved the problem by uninstalling + re-installing Maps instead of updating directly.
how do you reinstall it?
uninstall. install.
where do you go to install it?
sorry i'm new to this phone
It's officially out today!
HOWEVER... it's still listed as not available for my Xoom LTE. Not sure if they forgot to check the box for this model. If someone can get the new tablet friendly APK out there, I'd be obliged. I've already submitted a message to Hulu support.
i was able to install it on my xoom.

i have no clue how to do that.
It's good to know how to do it, programs like ASTRO File Manager or App Backup & Restore can backup the apps installed on your phone or tablet as APK files, which can be installed on any device. It doesn't back up app data (You need root and Titanium Backup for that), but it's great if you want to save old versions of apps in case someone releases a bad update, or if you want to copy them to a device that doesn't have the Android Market or something like that.
Then you stick 'em on some sort of site that lets people download 'em.
Installed fine, however getting DRM not supported error...
I'm running EOS ICS on my CDMA Verizon Xoom, and no dice. I installed it on my Transformer, no problem. Used Astro to backup the apk; however, it says its private and won't allow me to. I've tried to install from the device and the web based play store. No go.
I don't think it's compatible with ICS yet, because my Galaxy Nexus is also non-supported; however, I have ICS on my Nexus S and it installed just fine, so...idk
Runs on my xoom just fine.

You're not getting a "DRM Error"? Mine updated from the hacked version posted earlier once I removed that, but I'm getting "DRM Error 93“.

Nope, no errors.
That's the hacked version, we're talking about the official version with the tablet UI.

Im using market update version -
As of last night, my Xoom LTE could install the app off the Play Store. I could also start a video, but the connection wasn't great it seemed, and I got a network error after like fifteen seconds.
It seems like the only people who have gotten the official app to work on their Xoom, are people with the 4G LTE Xoom. Although, it does not say it will only work on 4G LTE in the Google Play app store, there seems to be a pattern. I wonder if a build.prop edit could fix the issue?

Huh. One of your builds, or an official build?
I've wiped data (thinking that the previous hacked version left something around), but still getting the DRM Error 93.

I can download and search for the apps fine but once it's actually installing, the package installer is stuck.
Download and install a previous version of Aptoide. The same problem you describe, appeared on me with the latest version of Aptoide.

For Aptoide, not. You must however, enable the "unknown packages" option in the Settings\Security panel.
i have the same problem
this problem is caused by aptoide , in the new versione the file downloaded havent .apk extension and the installer doesn't work
if rename the file EXAMPLE in EXAMPLE.apk the installer works correctly but u have to do this with all the application downloaded :/
i want to try to modify to rename the file with extension
Is there an app that's similar or better than aptoide?

blackmart are similar but i prefer aptoide :/
Aptoide is the best cydia-like app we have in Android. That's the end of it. If anyone else is experiencing installation problems with the latest versions of Aptoide, all he has to do is simply install an older version of Aptoide. It may be simpler in looks, but, most importantly, it WORKS!

I think its more like Installous or Appcake, not like Cydia, isn't it?

Do the apps update themselves when you use aptoide?
Had the same problem on aptoide 4... revert to 2.7.1 and it'll be fine

Do the apps update themselves on aptoide or do you have to install the latest one whenever it comes out?
Does anyone know where to install an old version of aptoide? Whenever I try, it always gives me 4.0
Works fine fir me, after upgrading to 4.0 just delete the .aptoide folder then stop the app and clear data in app settings.
Relaunch let it add the default repo and any updating onstalls fine...

Where can I find an older version of Aptoide? If you root 4X HD, will you still have the same problem with installation for Aptoide? It is very important for those who love applications....
Thanks

Exactly! Here's location of aptoide apps: "/sdcard/.aptoide/apks" They should be named with long, strange numbers

You could try here. Not sure if that installs yet another app store or not, so do a backup first.
Edit: sorry, I should have said that the download link is the black text where it says "Download" (doesn't look like a link) below the image. At least that's what I tried. I've poked around in the apk file and don't see anything unusual so maybe....
THIS IS FOR ANDROID 6.0+ ONLY!!!
This is mod I use on my LG V10.
Package was originally created as an add-on for Eliminater74's Rom.
I just ported it over as a flashable zip for my use but I figured I'd share.
Put zip on your external sd card and flash from twrp.
You will get a few "BlackBerry services not working " in the beginning but they will soon go away after some usage. These apps were on the BlackBerry Priv and are pretty useful especially the Hub. If there are some apps you don't like, just uninstall or freeze with titanium backup.
There is a launcher, contacts, calendar, bbhub, password keeper..... just a bunch of stuff.
Enjoy

Do you use titanium backup? If so, under preferences you can use market doctor to attach app links to play store and that should help. But, j700h is outside the U.S.? That might be the issue but I can't say for sure. Try market doctor and let me know please.
Thanks.

- Just looked it up. Didn't even know about that page. So did you use the BlackBerry manager as described?

Yes, installed the Blackberry Manager by Colbalt and it lets you install all the apps.
I prefer however downloading the folders from Colbalt (just check one of the previous posts on the thread) and install the apps I like (blackberry hub, calendar and keyboard) -the rest are just average (contacts on MM is way better than that of BB)
