Q2-Q3..................end of Q4
LG Germany still says Q2 but I don't trust them!
Google should lower the time manufacturer have, to upgrade their devices to the newest possible OS..
18 months are way too much... LG, I see what you did there.
@Flix123 I dont think that they can keep their promise =(
I think we should stick with this statement to LG.. "Whatever!!! Just deliver us your updates!!! :banghead:

LE: They don't have any information to be released soon ... so late September it will be
We can just wait for any of this phones to have ICS so we can steal the tegra binaries over.
"Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon, Samsung Galaxy R, Samsung Captivate Glide, Tesla Model S, ZTE Mimosa X, Micromax Superfone A85"
They are f*cker in LG. Q3 is too late but finally we will be happy if it will be done in 2012
as i said, the december anouncement means NOTHING and LG will always find an other Lie (Good?) to throw at you!

Well, it's LG and this news is expected Hope we could get ICS on LG O2X in 2012...
First of all, it certainly isn't OK from LG to delay ICS that much, but really, folks, who cares? CM7 and many other great custom ROMs are there for us, so I don't suffer that much waiting for ICS - just send many thanks to the great devs we have here!

These informations are in danish so here is a rough translate:
When will the P990 get updated to Android 2.3?
LG P990 will get the update to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) in June-July 2011. More information about the exact date will follow as we near the date.

Thanks for sharing the information.
A bit later than expected compared to others like Motorola, Samsung and HTC. But better late than never, I guess.

Yes, you can definitely count on it!
Cyanogen tweeted himself that his next phone will be the G2x (same device, different software)
now i already july, but still no info for gingerbread ..
You will never get Gingerbread update haha!
Eventually when other devices will be already on Ice Cream.
O2X is the biggest disappointment of the year!
Last indication was September. However they didn't specify what year

Depends on your point of view.
I bought it to use with CM7, not stock.
The newest 10c stock works great for me. It isn't slow and i got no problems.
I have tried most of the roms and stock is the best for me
I would have expected that most people should know by now that all dates given for any LG updates are FALSE, so please stop posting these messages and just wait.
Its done when its done and in this case its taking much too long (but thats the only thing lg is good at: keeping their customers waiting)

That's ok, we have some great Devs on board already (and more will come aboard), and I thank DG for what he has helped with on the Thrill. DG seems to be one of those that can't stay still too long and likes to work on the latest and greatest. (and has a thing for Samsungs).
DG is a POS. For the atrix he deodexed it before we had any roms (cool) and told everyone he was working on some great stuff (cool). Took everyones donations that were under the assumption he was still deving for the atrix (he wasn't) sold the atrix on Ebay then bought an inspire with the atrix donation money and said we were idiots to think we'd ever have an unlocked bootloader (it's currently unlocked).
DG did some cool stuff on the captivate but for the last year he's basically just accepting donations under false pretenses.

Keyword: donations... don't ever expect your donation to hold a particular dev to something... xda is a forum not freelancing site... that goes for everyone... no matter what the dev says... stuff changes things come up... usually best bet for donations is to build up a bounty or promise some donation after the dev releases a working version of what ever was being worked on... no sympathy

Lol, like everything else they come out with because they are so useless is that they have no idea, they wont know untill it is released so when we know they know if we don't know then neither do they.
Conclusion....useless company. Worthless customer service.

They are reviewing?
The sources are public more than 5 months now...
Is the next step that they actually decide whether to hire a programmer?
Remember the disaster of the rollout for Gingerbread?
So, why are you surprised that other companies are running ICS already and providing ICS-updates while the promised timeline of LG (2nd quarter 2012 = April,May, June) is running out of time.
Honestly: Are you surprised?
Why they can't set a fixed date for the update?
Really shame LG!
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
as i mentioned in other posts, they (LG) "might" start working (or in this case reviewing) on ICS and not as so many interpreted releasing the rom.
thats how big corporations handle such mathers, with sentences that can put any way "they" want to satisfy the customers and if need be (like most of the time) put them as they want it to be and tell the customer to shut up because they at no point mentioned what "YOU" expected.
They're not going to release ics on any lg device, before the official release of the 4X
They don't want their UI out, not like its good anyway...

Nah, that ain´t true. LG has at least one device available with ICS. It´s the LG L7 P700. It run´s with Android 4.0.3.
so the real question is when it will get JB .

I follow you, I think it's safe to say that JB will always be an acronym for jelly bean on android forums.
I think:
+ the skin isn't too heavy.
+ Googlora (googorola? how do people spell that?). Moto should hopefully do better than most with software updates.
+ No hardware buttons to reconfigure
+ Motorola desperately needs some good publicity. A little over a year ago, Moto was the company that released the first major dual core android device (not counting G2X), and was seen as innovative because of webtop. These days, Motorola hardly even enters the conversation.
but,
- The phone was JUST released. I bet we'll see an OTA update or two, or maybe even three, before JB comes around.
- I don't think this will be hugely popular. It COULD be, because it has amazing hardware, and for the subsidized crowd, $99 is a steal. But right now, with such little press, I sorta doubt it. The smaller the user base, the lower it will be on the list of priorities.
- Until bootloader is unlocked, we're can't do it ourselves.
If I had to guess, I would say October or November, but that's just a guess.
I think we can expect to see a JB update much earlier. It really isn't that much different from ICS. I've used CM9 and CM10, I know that they are not official, but the difference isn't too great.
You guys are guessing October/November to get a JB update?
I promise you this update will not come before next spring! Google will do itself a great injustice if it favors Motorola in the least and with such large clients as HTC and Samsung, that's the last thing Google wants to do as it will certainly strain relationships if not end them. Motorola hasn't even upgraded the Atrix 2 with ICS yet and it's been out for what, 9 months? Moto will not jump to the front of the line for updates now that Google owns it, trust that, they may still get JB on the AHD but it's gonna take some time.
Awesome?
Motorola “Unlock My Device” Website goes live
Go Ahead and search this on Google as I am not allowed to post links yet
Found this today. I believe it is good news for custom roms and we will not have to wait for official updates :good:

Whether true or false. Tomorrow or after six months, is further information. Company update announced via Facebook
"Everyone knows that LG was never a masterpiece when it comes to software update, but it seems that, although it took the update to the Jelly Bean for Optimus 4X HD, L7 and L9 is being finalized, which is was said on the official LG Hong Kong on Facebook.
All these smartphone are still with version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but the updates to the L7 and L9 only been confirmed for the P705 and P765 Asian versions, although the international versions (P700 and P760) should arrive shortly after.
The LG is showcasing the update time of launch of its new line of appliances for 2013, which will be announced at Mobile World Congress in late February.
