Would appreciate help in finding a way of increasing the sound from the phone speaker. The sound from my Raider 4G speaker is very low. Even when volume is set at it's highest the sound from the speaker is mediocre at best. As a result I only play music or other media using the htc headphones only. Thanks.
I do have a solution that boosts the volume, it's an app and its called: Volume+ I tried the free version and noticed nothing, then got the paid version and noticed a mild difference. I'm not trying to sell the app as I've got nothing to do with the dev, just saying that it worked for me btw, I'm on a HTC velocity with Kozmikkernal and rooted ICS (stable, fast holiday ICS)
EDIT:
Oops, sorry, the Rom that I'm on has Dolby in it, I think I turned that on when I got Volume+, just played around with Volume+ settings, and turned it off and on and didn't notice anything (whilst Dolby was turned off..) So to answer your question, the Dolby apk that came with the Rom will increase the speaker volume and headphones (there are those two options)

Anyone know if there is an application on the market or something I can use to crank the volume on this thing? It is absurdly weak.
I assume you are referring to ring volume.. if so i would love something that would make it louder too

Well, that and headset volume. On the Eris, there was a hack called "turn it up to eleven" - I can't find that anymore, and this thing is ridiculous.
I put it at full volume, plug it into my computer input, and crank that to full volume and is like background noise.
This is what I did, and it worked great. I have PowerAMP pro, and while listening to some songs, I was playing with the EQ settings. I was able to boost the music playback to really loud levels by cranking up the preamp. Then, the other day while watching Netflix, I was getting pretty annoyed because it was hard to hear at full volume. I went to the home screen and loaded PowerAMP. I adjusted the EQ settings, then went into "Advanced Tweaks" and checked "Keep Service," then went back to my Netflix movie. The difference was night and day. Upping the preamp seems to have boosted all my audio.
Hope this works for you guys. PowerAMP is a payed app, but maybe another app with an EQ will work too.
Ive tried searching the forums and google and cant really find a similiar problem. When I plugged a headset in my music plays horrible and my in call volume is garbage.
If i go into settings and sound then volume there are 3 options. media, ringtones, and alarms. ringtone and alarms blow my ears out via the headset so i know it works but the media one is really low. It's as if something isn't turning on properly during calls. like its not in stereo.
im using android revolution 3.0.1 and it worked prior to this. im open to suggestions. ive tried DSP manager, and all my volumes are jacked. what am i missing to get this to work.

Still no luck. I've even gone back to an old back up from long before any of this happened and that back up has the same issue.

I know that there are audio issues. All working okay but - is anyone else having problems with the speakerphone?
Nothing happens when i select it. The calls stay in the headset speaker. Any help is appreciate.
mine switches speakers and is slightly louder, but almost no difference in volume. its part of the in call volume being low. just a kernel issue in JB
Kernel issue...effects all jb roms including in call volume

The speakers are way too loud even on lowest volume when I am alone in my room. I don't need the speaker to be blasting at me when im playing Angry Birds or something. Anything I can do about that?
Update: Trying out an app called Fine Volume Control 2. It was the only thing I could find that did what I want, unfortunately, it seems extremely inconsistent and buggy.
Update 2: Uninstalled Fine Volume Control 2, wayyy too inconsistent and buggy. Still looking for any suggestions.

Having the same problem. Feels a bit loud at the lowest volume

I cant guarantee this works as I am STILL waiting for my HTC One to arrive here in Australia but when I had my aweful Galaxy Nexus I used a app called Volume+ to turn the volume up as it was so low you couldn't hear it ring. I remember the app also allowed you to turn the volume down. Worth a try.
Volume+ doesn't work for JB so useless for me.
Volume Control+ seems to be just an app with all the volume control sliders in one place which is useless.
There's a update to fix the volume to make it lower don't know if it's out yet it is if you got a custom rom

Ugh... I wished they'd release their fixes already. There is this volume thing and also the 3 dot menu thing.
Bump. Still looking for a solution.
I remember reading about the Music Volume EQ app (on, I believe, Phandroid?) and people said they had some luck with messing with the equalizer settings on this app to turn the volume down for the One. Haven't tried it for myself though.
Yes, if you use the Music Volume EQ app and turn all the equalizer settings down to -15 and the volume down to 1, the speakers are much more quiet!
Yep, using Music Volume EQ for now. Still not as good as having a integrated option, but can live with it for now.
They should of made a slider volume instead of in steps!
So, I love my HTC oneX it's GREAT in every way except the incall volume is TERRIBLE. Does the HTC One have better levels?? I wan't to hear from someone who has had both...........Thanks!
Call volume on the ONE is loud and clear. I'll say a bit too loud.
Just be careful to not accidentally press the speaker phone while putting it against your ear. I was temporarily deaf!
Only problem is I wish the volume can be set lower cos it's too loud for others to hear at minimum
