i can't unlock bootloader - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

there's so many ROM that i can't falsh it on my phone due to kernel and i think to flash kernel u have to unlock bootloader. and manufacture of my phone doesn't support unlock coz will make a hard brick . for instance i want to flash prime hd8 i tried but it coz a soft brick>>>>>???? what to do

You can't do anything about it, unfortunately.
If your phones manufacturing date is newer than 11W29, then don't unlock your bootloader.
However, you can still use ROMs such as GingerDX, PrimeHD (Stock Kernel Version) and ROMs that work with Stock Kernel!
Search, and enjoy!

can people not read stickies these days??? I'm starting to miss my ZTE blade and modaco forums....

To what u Oc it???
If u OC it higher than 768
2d and 3d score decreases that with stock kernal
unlocking B.L improves performance
if u want to unlock it
see guides if forums and be careful with hard brick
see B.Jay thread concerning with that
If you want custom kernel or ROMs what need custom kernel then you must unlock bootloader, for better performance you need to unlock too so i think unlocking the bootloader brings our X8 in a better dimension.
You must understand this first: unlocking the bootloader will NOT increase your score, until you flash a custom kernel (ALFS is the best election for GDX).
Hehehe..I think no full working ics with stock kernel
Me want unlock too but i have 11w38

What was first chicken or egg?
To my mind your question is incorrecly stated.
First you should ask yourself why do you need it?
If you have no answer for this question. NO you don't need to unlock.
Otherwise, read a lot of threads, compare pro (e.g. increase of perfomance) and cons (you might get a brick) and then decide
Now i see i have 11w08 can i unlock it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481630
unlocking phones with production dates before 11W29 is safety (of course if S1tool doesn't confirm reverse.)
According to info from another forum 11W38 is also can be unlocked without any problems. actually, I successfully unlocked my 11W32.
PS. And for sure I am not responsible for possible bricking.

[Q] W8-X8 mods/cRoms/fixes etc.

Hello sony ericsson X8/W8 users! I not newbie here on xda, but is new on your X8 thread. I have a new SE W8 which was given to me by my mom.. Now i was looking for a w8 thread here on xda but only led me to X8. i know X8 and W8 are close to being perfectly the same though there are a few things inside the phone also a better sound system on W8 which i researched the day i got it.
Now for my question: can you flash X8 stock roms, croms, fix, mods etc? Or they have their own Just like my first phone sgs i9003. It may look exactly like the i9000 but they have diff. stuff inside them which would brick the phone if you tried flashing i9000 roms on i9003 (happened to me on the first week i got the phone ...)
if you're kind enough, please help me with links for roms/mods specifed for w8
I am pretty confused with the x8 and w8 stuff... they should make a separate thread.... Sorry for those who might get annoyed with this post or sumthing. and thanks in advance for those who could help me with this
U can flash all the croms of x8 to w8.... with no hesitation...m using w8 only n i hve flshed gdx v24 n it works smoothly....

Here are 2 types of bricks :
1.Soft Brick - Reparable , SEUS , Flashtool
2.Hard Brick - Nonreparable , phone dead .
If you want to flash a custom kernel u need first to unlock bootloader , very dangerous , it leads to hard brick.
The custom kernels have recovery buildin so from there u can flash ROMs.
About Root , use Superoneclick , use search button
Best Combos are , MiniCM7 +nAa Kernel and GingerDX + Alfs.

Thanks for the link man. Wow rooting and customizing here takes a little more time on w8/x8... With bootloaders to be unlocked.... On the galaxy s all you need is to flash a kernel using odin. The kernel automatically unlocks the bootloader and of course rooting the phone. also installs cwm superuser and other root stuff... Although rooting here on w8 is easier by using superoneclick right?
About the bricking thing, its ok ive experienced bricking before with i9003. Hard bricked twice, but got lucky that the customer service never suspected it was rooted. Soft bricked before when odin was not responding...
Thanks for your knowlege damir, now i am well prepared with your link so when my laptop arrives i can start instanly! +1 for you on your thanks meter!
Since im in a good mood im giving +1 for those who helped me lol.

If the simlock certificate specified is NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE, you can't unlock the bootloader of your phone. If you try, radio capability of your phone will be disabled!

Hi,
I am using W8 and i have unlocked my bootloader and currently running with custom kernel and custom ROM (ICS). Before you unlock your bootloader u please chk the number on the Phone just below the battery something like 11W27 ( this is mine) if it above 29 its not advisable to unlock the bootloader, your phone might be bricked. However you can use GingerDX on Stock kernel.. hope this helps
Thank you for the info....mine is 11w34 ...hard luck for me....

Yes. You are right. Ive done some searching about this and learned that sony noticed that there were lots of hard brickings occurring in this phone unit. So sony had some part of the phone that starts with "Q" (i forgot the name) that holds the security stuff to make this "security hole" (or the "security ****") where bricks the phone whenever someone tries to unlock the bootloader... Thats what i understood... It can still be unlocked though you'll need someone good in hacking, and modding that could bypass the security hole thing and stuff a in the end unlocking the bootloaders.. It'll be tough work...

What this guy mean is:are there any other way to know a date code beside look at under battery because for some reason, he just cant see it.
Btw,If ur phone dont die after u do it , i guest u have manage to unlocked ur bootloader.Use s1tool to make sure of it.

[Q] How to install cusom Kernel on 11w44

dont do it mate, you have 11w44 and upon flashing a custom kernel you need to have an unlocked bootloader which is very risky to do and it is not advisable to do so, stick with stock kernel and stock ROMs
Unlock your bootloader with setool. Do not ask how, setool requires special hardware, so this is a paid method. If you try to unlock your bootloader with the free method, the result will be a hard brick what also need setool to resurrect the phone, so do not try it.
Search for a service or a person who have setool in your city/country.

Ah... I guess I will stick with stock kernel. Thanks anyway . (Pressed thanks for all of you )
mine is 11w48 and i also searched and googled a lot but no satisfying result. it is very risky to do so. i am satisfied with my stock kernel. try to do the same as me . trying to unlock your bootloader may result in not having any x8 anymore of course as I know there are ways to un-brick it later but...
...it is expensive

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but my dad wants this phone, and it will more than likely be newer than 11w29( I think that was the last unlockable one) and I was wondering, what's a good rom that can be used on stock, that doesn't need to be for gaming, multitasking or whatever WE would do, but what a 47 year old man does, like making calls, text..really basic stuff, but I don't want to keep on Eclair, and as I read, ICS and JB can ONLy be flashed on unlocked bootloaders, right? Is there any hope to have this phone unlocked further than 11w29?
hopefully you get a phone with 11w28 and down date, but the chances are really small. since your dad is going to use it, i believe stability is the most important? if you don't want to stay on eclair (which is good if you're okay with no app2sd feature), i'd recommend a froyo rom. which one really is up to you. just check the ones on the dev threads.
Yeah, stability is the most important, it's not like he'll want to play games haha. Would a GB rom be okay? I saw there's a Gingerdx rom that seems stable enough. Thanks!

Infos about modding Xperia T

Hi to all.
I bought the Xperia T (lt30p) and i would say what is the best rom and the best kernel. Thank you!
Please use search, also there is no answer to this question so there is no point posting it. Especially add your have not said what you want from the Rom....
Is your phone's bootloader unlocked? You can only flash custom kernels if your bootloader is unlocked. Not all of our phones are able to have the bootloader unlocked. There are threads in the forum to show you how to check if your phone is allowed to have it unlocked. If it says "No", then right now there is no chance of having your bootloader unlocked. If it says "Yes", then you can unlock it through Sony's dev website.
There are some great ROMs for the XPeria T that use the stock kernel. Right now, I am using XPerimenT ROM v2.9 on my LT30a. It's a little old, but I really like it. It is based the official 141 firmware.
