I have a strange problem i have had a few different roms on my note inlcuding starting with gb roms like checkrom etc and then i went to ics using the chinese repack when it first came out and when i install that repack before flash stunner and liquid i found that the whites on my screen had a purple tint to them i noticed it on the first boot screen with Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 it is slightly purple and the tint followed me through stunner, lquid and even cm9 when i was using ther kernal instead of LP5. But at any point if i do restore to gb using restore in cwm the tint is gone and my whites are white again, and so after restoring that backup and then rerooting and flashing abys kernal and then flashing offical update today with chainfire kernal using mobile odin pro guess what when i boot up the purple tint is back even WTF, i have just rooted my wifes Note 10 mins ago and then flashed the offical using mobile odin again and when it boots theres no tint to her whites WTF Please Help ???
Well i have tried everything including flashing stock gb rom and then not even rooting the phone and just flashing the offical ics update using both pc and mobile odin and as soon as i reboot when the boot image of the galaxy note N7000 half way through showing that the screen goes slightly purple. I have tried every which way and as soon as i go to any ics it does it but not if i go on stock gb or custom gb ??? Anyway ive rang o2 and blagged a new phone so will flash that as soon as i get it lol . I know for a fact that the chinese repack has changed something on my phone so everythime i go to any ics it goes purple maybe the boot loader ???

I decided today I was going to switch my ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S Captivate so I first tried to switch to Andromeda 3. It would not install so I restored my back up to the first back up I made that was the stock ROM after rooting and tried again to install Andromeda 3. So it finally installed but I didn't like it so I found a really cool ROM called Mosaic LINK-(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892973) which I installed. Now whenever I start up my phone I get a whole bunch of colored lines going across my screen but strangely enough it goes to the boot loader and works great but now I cannot get into recovery.
Every time I attempt to get into recovery I get the colorful lines across my screen and it freezes. I tried to flash the Clockworkmod recovery but it gives me only 4 model options to chose from (Galaxy S i9000, GalaxyS i9000 (MTD), Google Nexus S, and Nexus S 4G). I have tried flashing it to the Galaxy S i9000 but does not fix the problem.
I have looked on google trying to find a solution to my possibly corrupted recovery but cannot find anything similar and would love to hear some opinions on this because of right now I am stuck with the ROM forever.
Thank you

I don't have the same phone but since I root it I got those lines. Now, do you get in recovery by pressing vol-down and power at the same time?

OP there are instructions on post 2 of the mosaic thread that you did not follow you were supposed to flash stock I9000 gingerbread first to update your bootloaders THEN flash a kernel that has cwm with odin and THEN flash the rom, but since you've already flashed mosaic use this to update the bootloaders and it will solve your issues. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180807
Next time please post in the rom specific q&a thread to keep the forum from getting cluttered that's why they're there.
dalek823,
Did u flash the i9000 gingerbread bootloaders/ stock i9000 gb/ or xcal's reorient kernel ??

Thanks for the referral.
So I am going to try this fix you guys are suggesting with the i9000 boot loaders but I have a question. Will I need to reinstall boot loaders for I897 in the future then if I want to go back to the ROMs I used in the past and from now on do I have to use ROMs for i9000 only?
Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it
No they are backwards compatible but to down grade to froyo flash a froyo kernel with odin and then flash the rom in cwm.
DO NOT FLASH THE 3 BUTTON FIX WITH GINGERBREAD BOOTLOADERS. it will mix a gingerbread primary and a froyo secondary and will HARD BRICK you're phone.
What do you mean, I shouldnt flash the 3 button fix?, how do I avoid that?
They are a zip and a .tar package to fix broken button combos. they were made for eclair/froyo but flashing them on gingerbread will brick the phone.
So to avoid doing that just don't flash either of those...
Ok, I will avoid any flashes to fix buttons. Thank you for all your help and I am happy to say my phone now goes into recovery again.
THANK YOU!!!!!!
You're welcome
Enjoy mosaic it was made by a bunch of lunatics
I'm running CM9, before that CM7, and before that I had a problem with my 3-button recovery I believe I was on stock 2.2 I had used a fix somewhere in the forum for the 3 button fix and it worked. But now for example if I flash a different modem and or Google apps it does flash but then I get Power Reset or Unknown Upload Mode error screen. I have to pull the battery out and it will reboot. I think this may have something to due to the boot loaders? Any help would be helpful thanks.
I think it's a product of that 3 bottom fix, which you should never flash again. To be sure, you should probably just get on gingerbread bootloaders

Reminder, probably can't flash bootloaders while on cm/ics. I think the framework difference in that and Samsung causes problems. Also, try reformatting your internal memory sd card, just back everything you want to keep up first.
Lookup any Heimdall one click GB ROMs and enable bootloaders update. Apex ROM one of them.
is there a way i can just flash the boot loaders without going back to stock?

You technically can, but you won't be able to boot without flashing to stock from there. So don't do it

I was flashing ics roms from rocketrom, criseklo, some others, and i flashed 15 toggle theme for 4.04 but systemui kept crashing. I wiped in cwm ics kernel because someone mentioned not to use abyss for criskelo aroma install. I did some wipes couple more times before doing some more clean install but systemui kept crashing,
so I proceeeded to pc odin to flash gb rom.
and now my phone is stuck on samsung galaxy gt n7000 logo.
Please help!
I was on notecore kernel the last before this happened.
so far i can only go into download mode, and revert to gb on odin passes.
i thought they fixed the issue with wiping command for the latest kernels? is my phone bricked?
is there anyway to fix it? worst case scenario, how do i do the warranty step to get the motherboard replaced? i bought mine on amazon few months ago
Problem solved: Before I was trying to flash a pre rooted KJ1 gb rom, and so I gave a stock kka gb rom and it did the trick. So glad my 720 dollar phone didnt go to waste

As i was reading your post i thought this is superbrick because your wiping on ics kernel until i read your last input. Well im glad your just fine.
Just wondering if I'm the only one having these issues. I flashed the multi window hack to make it the Samsung mobile themed tab and in doing so got my phone stuck at boot. Tried re flashes of both ROM and mod but basically had to use Philz clean wipe or whatever it's called? The one where you do it for flashing a new ROM then i re flashed v5.1. Then last night I wanted to try the blue circle battery mod but again boot screen :/
Re flash of ROM sorted this one out, but I'm just curio is if this just me? I also had to re flash again this morning when I noticed the re flash had wiped s-note.
While I'm though I'd mention that I flashed my phone with odin back to stock a while back and then was showing a mate how to flash, accidently clicked cm9 ROM and without confirmation it flashed and worked? I lost root and it really confused me but is that possible? Seems like I should have been told no or have a bricked phone now.
Thanks all

Don't know why, but getting stuck at boot is a common issue in xxlsc/xxlsa..I too had to go through this 3 times atleast.. first 2 times I tried this way: taking a nandroid backup after getting stuck at boot & restore the same backup..today, i just wiped cache & dalvik it worked..not sure if it works with everyone & everytime..just thought of sharing my experience of getting stuck at boot logo..
I was on an ICS based MIUI, when I tried a stock JB ROM (Angry v3).
I have been pretty wary of the EMMC bug, hence I first installed a stock GB ROM and then rooted it through the zergrush method guide Dr Ketan has posted.
Post which I installed the JB ROM, all went well the phone was working for the night. However in the morning at work the phone froze and restarted and was stuck on the Samsung screen (not the boot logo). I did not want to try anything so I got home, the phone was booting in the download mode, so I tried installing the stock GB ROM again through ODIN. All went fine, I got the pass screen on ODIN and the phone rebooted but stuck again at Samsung screen.
Now I cannot even enter the recovery mode, So I am stuck with a paperweight ?
Try connecting the charger. Battery could be dead empty. And this is not Q & A Forum.

Battery was at 80% last checked. Will have the thread moved, and try charging the phone too.
By the way, if thou are on gingerbread firmware; it's safe to factory reset.
first switch off your phone then press the home+voluke up+power button in combination then you can bootup into the stock gb recovery from their format everything(presumed that you are on gb) and please dont post question in general thread..reported

Hmm, I tried installing another version of stock GB ROM through ODIN, was successful. I was able to to load into recovery, a wipe data and wipe cache allowed me to boot the GB ROm Am downloading the JB Jellybam ROM. A last question, should I be wary of stock leaked versions of JB? I quite liked TW

Its pretty safe as there are lots of roms using Leaked TW JB and has safe kernel Philz. till the time you are on a safe kernel.. nothing to worry about..
