[Q] HTC Sensation XL - Black screen - HTC Sensation XL

Hi
Sometimes when I call somebody, or someone call me, my screen turns black. I can still talk with the person, but afterwards I have to pull the battery out.
It's not always when I call somebody it happens.
Does anybody know how I can fix this?

I think maybe it's the proximity sensor. Have you tried to speak with loudspeaker and not to cover the sensor? That is a way to see what is causing the problem.

Hi. I'm to the forum. Mostly read but never replied anytime as most the issues are already replied before
Just want to share, i had the exact black screen problem in Samsung GS2, and it was the proximity sensor problem. Suggest to repair it in the HTC service center.

Actually, it doesn't happen so much anymore.
So at first i'll try to do it without the loud speaker, and if the screen turns black, i'll try to do it with loud speaker
The biggest problem right now is, that sometimes, it can be when im writing a text message, playing a game etc. The phone immediately shuts down, with no logo. I can turn it back on again, but then i loads slowly and shuts down when I have to write the PIN, it's first when I turn it on the third time it works again :/

[Q] Taiwan Region, HTC HD7. No Sound at all??

My HTC HD7 is randomly muting itself. It does this ALOT. Its beginning to become a nuisance to the point where its making me late for work. The only way to get the sound back is to remove the battery and restart the phone, but this is incredibly annoying. And even after i do this, it might lose sound (AGAIN) in a day or a few hours (its random).....
I dont know what is causing this but the volume is all the way up and it is not on vibrate. Still, there is no sound and when the alarm goes off it only vibrates and fails to wake me up for work.
My HTC HD7 is also constantly having a microphone issue. When I call people, they cannot hear what I am saying. Actually they cannot hear anything at all, not static but ZERO sound. Once again, the only way for me to temporarily fix this is to remove the battery and restart the phone.
TL/DR version:
1. Phone is randomly muting it's speakers, which causes the alarm clock function to fail and make me late for work.
2. Phone is randomly muting it's mic, which prevents whoever I am calling from hearing anything that I am saying at all.
3. The only method I know to fix either of these problems is to remove battery and restart phone.
Can anybody help me? Have any of you experienced the same problem?
I hate the same issue. Biggest drawback yet to this phone! I"ve pretty much been speakerless for over 2 months. Restating wont even fix my issue. Tha alarm ALWAYS froze my phone completely. I have resorted back to my HD2's G-Alarm and use that as my alarm.
and here i was thinking i was the only one with this problem.
i love the HTC HD7 but this nuissance is getting to my nerves...
i hope Microsoft fixes this in the infamous update that is scheduled for "sometime in january" i had high hopes for this wp7 os but this makes it just as bad as wm 6.1.. and was very disappointed to find out i can't use this device for internet tethering or remoting my pc at home and many other features that my old phone had the capability of doing.
in the meantime, there is no need to remove the battery, just hold the power button for about 4 seconds, phone shuts off then turn it back on, and get sound back.
thanks.

[Q] Audio clicking through headset.

Could someone please do a test for me. Plug in the headset, don't play any music. With the screen on, do you hear a series of repeating clicks after 5 seconds or so?
I get a series of 4 clicks, a pause, then it repeats and it's damn annoying. If nobody else gets this, then I need to swap my phone.

I don't even have my blarsted phone yet and I know this is a know fault.
Not gonna link you to where I learned this from cause I've had a few beers and i'd probably link you to a nice Redtube clip or something. LOL (jokez)
I have had some beers though haha. But i am genuinely serious, i think this is a proper fault dude.
Send that b!tch back for a replacement.
You never know, you might be lucky and get one with gaps in next time !
Do you use Beats audio? Does it happen when there is some bass? I have something similar in my old One S due to Beats.

I get this with beats and without. Even with no music playing at all. I'd be interested to read where thus has been reported before as I cannot find anything. I'm reluctant to swap the phone if this is a software thing that could be fixed.
After a bit more testing, I have found the clicking is not present when either the screen is off, or the screen is locked. unlocking the screen starts the clicking. This makes me think it may be a software issue? If nobody else reports a similar issue, I guess I'll have to return the phone.
If anyone else experiencences this, for me, the sound problem is caused by NFC. Turn it off, and the clicking stops. Phones 4u are going to swap it.

[SOLVED] Stereo sound issues

OK, I have an interesting issue going on with the way my stereo speakers are working.
Only the bottom speaker will work unless I plug in and unplug headphones, then they both will work. They will work in and out of any app, be it music, game, youtube, etc. BUT, once the screen is turned off and turned back on the top speaker stops working again. They both still work if they are playing while I turn the screen off, but if there is no sound and I turn the screen off, boom, only from the bottom speaker.
Now, notification sounds work from both speakers if the screen is off just fine.
I've tried 2 different roms and 2 different kernels (BadSeed and ElementalX) and nothing changes, so I'm pretty sure it's not ROM or kernel based, and the fact that it's consistent and I can "control" it tells me it's probably not hardware... so that means it has to do with root-accessible software.
Only thing that happens to me is one of the speakers will go out and then come back a sec later it's really noticeable since the volume gets really low but it doesn't happen enough to bother me

I got it. For some unknown, inexplicable reason it was a profile in Tasker causing it... I have one setup where if you put the phone face down it will shut the screen off. Well, that, for whatever reason, was causing audio to only come out of the bottom speaker. I flipped it on and off a dozen times and every time once I turn the screen off and back on audio returns to both speakers.

[Q] HTC One speaker problem - One speaker turning off / mono sound

My HTC One has started to develop this problem where it goes either mono or one speaker stops working or something along those lines. It happens for about 10 seconds then doesn't happen for another 30 minutes or so. It is not the audio coming from the phone as it even does it in games. And there is a subtle echo when audio of people talking is played and it gets really annoying when you are in a very quiet environment. Does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it? Or should I send it back? (I'm already trying to about the gaps and rough edges but HTC (Expansys) won't reply to my emails and just want to repair it.

[Q] Proximity sensor problem in call

I'm having issues with my z3 compact.like when i'm in a call, the screen gets activated randomly when i move the phone .if i hold it straight onto my ears it works all good. But if i move the phone even if very little around or take away the phone from my face and put it back, the screen gets activated and randomly touched.Anyone having the issue while in call?
my past phones are, Sony live with walkman,HTC desire X,Moto G,LG G3,Moto X.So i know how it should be.Never had that kind of behavious before with sensors.
Not that sort of problem... my problem is the proximity sensor often does not reactivate the screen when I take the phone away from my face to end a call.
Do you have a screen protector on the front?
no I don't use any protector.and I have the problem you mentioned as well.
if I put the phone on my face at certain angle, proximity sensor won't turn off the display.with other phones I never had this sort of weird problems.
According to Antutu, there is no proximity sensor in my phone. Very surprised to find that out. Using D5833.
its very annoying, sometimes its working and sometimes you have no access to the display. When you call somebody and are in the mailbox, there is no way of hanging up, you have to wait till the other site quits the call. How can sony produce something like that?! Is there no quality control?
I would really appreciate If somebody has/finds a workaround for this issue.
Thanks in advance!
Thorsten
I have the same issue and I've figured out that it's more likely to happen when I hold it to my left ear than my right. It's probably due to the position of the proximity sensor. I always use my phone on my left ear but fortunately I don't see this as a very big issue.
