Hi,
Every time i try to connect my "download mode" phone the odin didn't display yellow color in ID:COM so i can't flash CF-ROOT or SpeedMod Kernel at all , can any one tell me why? i already have kies recognize my sgs and i'm not XXJPY.
Thanks in advanced..
Is your phone in download mode when you connect it? If not, try to put it in download mode first and then connect it to your computer.
Also, try restarting both the phone and Odin and take care to connect the phone AFTER you have started Odin.
Yes I put my phone in Download Mode already.. I started Odin and then connect my phone to USB but still seem Odin not recognized my phone as the "Yellow text highligh" didn't appear in ID:COM box at all. it's only recognized when i put my phone in MTP application to connect to the kies..
I'd try another USB slot...
Yes, I did change the slot and now Odin recognized my phone.. But i flash CF-Root-XX_OXA_JPU-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1
for my SGS but it's failed..
My Phone detail is PCode:GT-I9000HKDDBT,
PDA:I9000XXJPY
PHONE:I9000XXJPY
CSC:I9000XAJPY
Can u recommend me which CF-Root file name should i use??
Thanks
looks to me like your using the wrong cf root.. your on JPY right ?? but using JPU cf root.
try this one.
You should always use the CF-Root that's "compatible" with your firmware. In your case, that would be the one that contains "JPY" somewhere in it's name.
Cos some1 in the forum gave me that link,...
Okay will try to flash with the JPY one
then will tell the result..
same problem
I've changed all the usb sockets ,and the same problem.
If i'm in normal mode , the Odin recognises me , but when i'll go in to download mode , it's ghost town .. it doesn't sees me. Why?
try to reboot phone/pc maybe you could reinstall the drivers... make sure you are using the original usb cable
u dont have the drivers installed

Put the tab in download mode, then connect to your pc. Windows 7 has the driver you need already. A box in Odin will turn yellow when you connect.
when I put it in recovery mode (power + vol up), I fail
the installation of a driver ....
and in download mode, does not recognize it ....
odin and also does not recognize it ...
with my netbook could flash ....
but in bootcamp mac does not recognize me
I also patched the bootloader jm6
thema and installed the version of luxury.
The tab works perfectly, the only problem that I can not flash because not recognized by window
just install this usb driver and retry:

Thank you all for assisting me
Hey guys, i've got a really persistent problem, odin isn't recognizing my new galaxy s (i've rooted it)
I've reinstalled the samsung USB drivers a few times now (64-bit) tried different orders of plugging the phone in, e.g. start odin, THEN plug it in, or plug it in then start odin. I've tried it on my old laptop which i used to use to flash back to stock for my vibrant, it doesn't recognize my galaxy s though :/
do any of u guys have any suggestions?

yeh, oh and it recognizes the phone wen its on normally, but not in download mode
1. Try Odin 1.85
2. Make sure If Kies is installed that it is not running in task manager
3. Search XDA for Samsung Drivers.exe and install then retry
You probe on all ports? On my notebook odin recognize phone only on 1 port of 4 Bu when use heimdall under linux, it's OK on any usb port.
One other trick is to hold 3 buttons for download mode and plug in usb cord to phone before you release 3 button's make sure odin is running first before trying this.
Would advise to Download drivers 64 bit from here [https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...s-x64.shtml&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13223281596262] and reinstall. Also, ensure Kies is not running in the background (Check in Task Manager).
thanks for your suggestions everyone, i'll try all of them and get back to you on how it works
sorry i didnt reply in awhile, to all the readers, i used a different computer for odin and it works
Hi There,
I am trying to use the general adopted approach for flashing CWM onto my Galaxy S, that is:
Download the correct CFRoot file, Download Odin, Boot the phone in Download Mode and run Odin..
I am unfortunately stuck at the last stage - I have booted in download mode only to find there is no USB connection and therefore Odin will not detect the phone.
My phone boots into Recovery Mode 3e
I have the following:
A Galaxy S running 2.3.6 Gingerbread XXJW4
A CF Root TAR File: CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS
(I believe I have the correct matching file please can someone confirm this for me??)
Odin v1.85
Odin v3.07
Samsung Kies Uninstalled
the Devguru Samsung galaxy S drivers for windows 7 x64
I have tried:
Running USB mode - Samsung Kies, Mass Storage
Enabling USB Debugging
Running Odin in Compatibility mode for windows xp
What am I doing wrong here?!

Try odin 1.3 and when you enter download mode and connect to PC .. if odin is not showing the phone being connected, make sure the drivers are properly installed by going to device manager of your windows..

Thank you both for replying
Unfortunately none of this has worked
I have now tried Odin 1.3, 1.85, 3.07 No joy.
I have tested the drivers I had and removed and reinstalled the link you gave me - on both occasions the phone does appear in device manager as 'SAMSUNG Android' but odin completely fails to detect the device until it's powered on and out of download mode.
Any idea?
Windows and Odin doesn't recognize phone in download mode
So I'm trying to flash my Galaxy mini using odin, but Windows doesn't recognize phone in download mode. I tried reinstalling drivers, but nothing changed. Please help me.
