[Q] Bootloop after flashing Gummy - Motorola Droid 3

Hi, guys,
I am recently rooted. I am experienced in rooting (Eris and Incredible), but you all know the Droid 3 is a little different. I am gaining CM recovery with the bootstrap app. I flashed gummy 1.2.0 but I keep getting stuck in the animation. I am wiping dalvik and data, and I know I am doing everything right.
I flashed Gummy 0.9 last night and it worked perfectly except I had no 3g, so I researched and discovered 1.2.0 was released which fixed the problem, so I tried it to no avail. I LOVED Gummy 0.9, and I would really love to have Gummy on my phone. Any suggestions would be great.
And yes, I have been searching the site since last night.

Try flashing Safestrap instead.

Temple Run for Android has finally been released! I think this link is right, I'm sending it from my phone so I'm not sure. If it's not, you can pick it up from the Facebook page as I can't find it in the market yet.

I've been getting force closes after almost every run.
I haven't... are you running ICS?
Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk
Yup. Haven't updated in a while though. What ROM are you on?
Sent from my XT862 using xda premium
AndroWiz, CM7 based rom.
Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk
Hm. Maybe it has to do with the HW Accelerated graphics not working on CM9. Can anyone else on CM9 confirm force closes?
Sent from my XT862 using xda premium
I don't think its ICS. Works fine for me running Gummy
Must be me then. I'll try flashing gummy and give it a shot.
EDIT: Flashed Gummy and I still got a force close. Didn't get a chance to test extensively because I have a Calc 2 test tomorrow morning, but it FC'd with the first 5 minutes.
I installed this on my MIUI rom based of Hashcodes's CM9 and it fc after first game/ when I click replay.

Now I'm really confused. When I installed Gummy, I did so after a clean wipe: /system, cache, delvik, data/factory reset and it still force closed. Hopefully the company that made it will release a patch soon.

[Q] flashed to page plus.... would custom rom mess up the flash?

I recently had my bionic flashed to page plus from verizon. I have it rooted and bootstrap installed. But before i downloaded a custom rom a bad thought crossed my mind and i definitely need a more experienced answer to the question. If I were to flash a custom rom could it adversely have an effect on the prl or any other changes made during the page plus flash? Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance

keep trying the 4 corners thing. just tonight I rooted my Bionic, installed Safestrap, and installed the IcarusHD rom. I had precisely the same issue as you when loading the new rom, but the 4 corners thing got me out of it. if you've never done it before check out the finger placement in this video:

Thank you so much i was finally able to bypass it. Turned out i was tapping too far below the bottom 2 corners. Thank you sooo much

Also, for stock based VXLR is the latest updated rom and has very good battery life. For what it's worth mine is on Liquid ICS because I don't use it very often anymore.

The first thing to do is make sure your recovery is up to date. You can do that with the Rom manager app. It probably is the latest version but, it is better to check first. Then you have to decide if you want to go back to stock and take all the updates. The last update was a month or two ago and had a few security things. It's still GB. If you do then you'll be on a version ending in .621. After that you'll have to find compatible roms. The Liquid linked above is the most up to date version compatible with .621.
Good luck.

Thanks! I too just came across my DX which I had since launch, since it was with my car dock, Im gonna try to see what I can use it for as a companion to my pc...like maybe a desk mounted fan controller or temp monitor would be cool since I love to overclock (computers). Although its likely wishful thinking aside from some bluetooth tools from msi afterburner and such, its amazing the phone got up to ICS.
Might try it out later this week, last rom I had was one of the liberty 2.2.1 builds which were one of my fav at the time. Having gone from the DX, to rezound, and now note2. The DX was probably one of the best rom developed phones out there in its time aside from the nexus.

I was originally going to sell my DX but within a few days i decided to keep mine. New(different) toy for me to play with for a min. I've had the D4 since 2 weeks after it launch date so im super spoiled with Safestrap. Before i got my D4 I was up to date with roms and builds but sadly its still 2.3.

Framaroot, yes, is an apk. install the apk, and choose the gimli option. it will tell you that root was sucessful, and to reboot your phone. after you reboot, install bootstrap from either dx, d2, or d3 (d3 is most up to date, no known updated recovery available?)
You are correct about the 605/621 sbf info. once you flash 621, you can't go back. there are ROMs for both versions. I don't have experience with 605, but yes, you can upgrade to ICS from 621. From what I've read, no one has successfully gotten a JB ROM (CM10, 10.1, or 10.2) to work. There are at least 2 ppl who are going to attempt a KK build. wether or not it boots and is functional, only time will tell.

Go to menu>settings>apps> allow unknown sources

Well, then. That's better than I got on my Bionic. CyanFox, CM11, or SlimKat(current) would not even breathe on slot 1.
Any other slot, and I was golden.
Yep, test, play, tweak, or wreck.....blow that slot up and go at it again.

roms
Its good to see people still flashing custom ROMs on their bionics. I still have my bionic and its going as strong as ever. My son uses it and he loves it.
I installed Slimkat and I can't get past the loading screen. It just keeps flashing the Slimkat logo over and over indefinitely.
Alright, I fixed the problem. I made the mistake of using the old bootstrap to install Slimkat, so I wound up with a bricked device. Even the recovery was wiped out so I thought I was screwed. I did some digging and figured it out over the course of a few hours...
I downloaded the latest firmware for the Bionic and tried installing them in the command line while the phone was in fastboot. The img files supposedly loaded successfully, but I still couldn't get into recovery to finalize the system installation. Luckily I discovered RSD 5.6. It worked except there were a few problems in the xml file within the firmware, so I had to take out both lines that had "oem" in them to get it to finish.
After that my Bionic was brought back to factory stock condition. I rooted using the Safe Root command line tool, installed Safestrap 3.73, and flashed Slimkat. It worked great!
If you're having similar issues and I didn't give enough info just let me know and I'll try to help.

You can try
