Root my Galaxy S I9000. Help Needed.

Hi, I recently updated my SGS I9000 via kies to latest version. I want steps to root my device. I read previous topics but i didnt understand much because m a newbie in this field. Please provide me the step by step procedure with much details. It would be highly appreciated.
Details:-
Baseband : i9000DDJV5
Kernel : 2.6.35.7-I9000DDJV9-CL312456 [email protected] #2
Firmware Version : 2.3.3
Build Number : GINGERBREAD.DDJV9

Well, you'll need to download odin, and flash a rooted kernel, you'll find many thread explaining how to do that

That method isnt working now.

I rooted mu SGS with stock froyo fw yesterday. Judging from the official SOC thread, it should work with gingerbread as well.
Baseband : i9000XXJPY
Kernel : 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Firmware Version : 2.2.1
Build Number : FROYO.XFJS4

[Q] Help root samsung gingerbread 2.3.3 I9000XXJPK

I've been all over the internet but i got confused with all the different guides (im a newb) can you pleease tell me or direct me to how to root this phone:
Samsung galaxy S
model: GT-I9000
firmware: 2.3.3
baseband: I9000XXJPK
kernel version:
2.6.35.7-I9000BVJV8-CL284116 [email protected]
version number: GINGERBREAD.BVJV8
(i want to root it to be able to connect arabic letters(they are disconnected))

I recently got my gt i9000 updated from a service center to 2.3.6 and now the info under about phone tab is as follows..
kernel version: [email protected]#2
build number: GINGERBREAD.DDJVB
baseband : I9000DDJV7
well this version is actually a value pack along with touchwiz 4.0.
I wanted to root my phone but could not find anything on how to root for this kernel version.. neither on any of the threads..
so i would be grateful for any help..
P.S: well,this is my first post so please correct me if i'm wrong anywhere.

If it's a value pack fw, you *should* be able to root by flashing semaphore 2.7.4 through CWM. Saver should be a rooting toolkit(just search for it). Once you got it rooted, take a root explorer, open /system/build.prop and look for the build date. Post it here then.

Maybe its an Asian region firmware.

where do you live please?

Maybe you can take a look at this:
this will teach you to install CWM and then you can use rooted ROMs afterward

Looks like the firmware is for INDIA though I dont see it on Kies now.
You can try flashing Semaphore 2.7.4sc kernel in ODIN.
I will wait for leaked one from Sammobile.

this firmware is now seeded in kies, so you can try and experiment with any other firmware and then go back to it (using kies or odin)

[Q] Which CF-ROOT for GINGERBREAD.BVJVC

Hello everyone
I couldn't find my answer by search (i found one thread with exact problem but no answer.) Just updated from froyo to 2,3,5 gingerbread through samsung kies.
My question is which CF-ROOT file i should use (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 ) to root my sisters Galaxy S I9000. I know theres a hint in the thread but I still don't know which CF-ROOT. Maybe because my english is bad ;/
My current system info:

[Help] Flashing custom rom from Froyo 2.2.1? Help Me Please. (Confused!)

Hi devs, i am confused in flashing Custom Rom. I have rooted my phone and have cwm recovery installed. I want to update from Froyo to Gingerbread. Where to get the gingerbread rom that i can flash? Should i download any rom and just flash it in CWM directly? Or i need to do some thing special? Please help me. I followed the tutorial but i didn't found my build/baseband version in gingerbread section!! Any help will be appreciated Thanks in advance

i followed this tutorial and now i am using gingerbread
