I have tried to flash arco's recovery to install ICS but it shows the main menu ( reboot, install zop, wipe, etc) and I can't enter in any of the setting, trying to do a backup before installing ics. I flashed it via FeaMod with zip version, and recovery.img from wiki via SGS+ quick flasher. Both said success but the problem is the same. When clicking menu button or power all text is hidden and backgound image is brigther. What I'm doing wrong ?
Feamod use option to enter into menu
Arco's CWM only home button

If you want advanced options i suggest that you first enable 3 button combo and than go to download mode and flash custom kernel via odin

Get in to Download Mode (Press Vol+ and Power button while it's off) and connect with usb cable PC. Should be appear a partition with one folder only (I forget the folder name) and inside that folder there is a recovery.img file. Replace the recovery.img file with the previous version (extracted from other CWM update zip). Unmount partition then reboot your phone.
floder name is images

Andro-ID RC3 will not accept any other recovery and will be able to run only it's own customized recovery tweaked by the DEV, you need to replace recovery by going in download mode as shown by CK or flash RC3 again through SUT(new)
thank you .... I will try to reflash again RC3, hopefully this works

I've installed FeaMod 1.4 on the top of stock KQ7 tom busyboxed. It worked great, formating, changing kernels and roms. But today I can't enter into recovery Samsung logo and turn off, the same as Download mode. ROM boots up normally. Please help me. There is option for adb.
It's not April fool guys ;-) I'm writing from this phone now.
Solution and all thanks to broodplank1337:
i9001 Quick Flasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574149 is solution for this problem:

Reflashing the recovery should be plenty. Just connect your phone in debugging mode to your pc, download Feamod 1.4 and extract the recovery.img from it, in the app choose "Flash a new recovery" and "Wipe before flashing", click "Browse..." to browse for the recovery.img file and click "Start Now". This should do the trick

Instead of using FeaMod recovery.img it's also safe to use img from your current ROM extract it using WinRAR for eg.
Thank You broodplank1337!

Hello, I made this,
When I hold power + volume+ i have bootlop. It show samsung logo and restart.
Some Ideas ?
// I use recovery.img from feamod 1.2
hello,
i ve installed the feamod recovery 1.4
and when i try to enter in the recovery i get black screen after samsung logo..
is this the solution?
and "wipe before flashing" will delete all my files and apps?
instead of what you wrote, can i reflash the 1.2 with odin if i have the 1.4 already installed, or can it make problems? Because the 1.2 worked fine when i tried to enter..and i can't understand why this 1.4 doesn't work..
thanx
Wipe option in Quick Flasher will wipe only partition you have chosen (for eg recovery), files and apps are in data partition. You can flash every single recovery.img for i9001 you want. I noticed that sometimes recovery and download mode works second time, try it first.
If that's extreme, copy recovery on sdcard and use:
Code:
adb shell
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13
reboot recovery
Thank you..very kind!

You should flash GingerBread Stock Rom via Odin, if you dont have it already. You should connect phone with USB cable and put it to download mode (press Home button, Volume down and Power button all at the same time) Than flash ClockWorkMod via Odin again... than put the zip file of the Cyanogen ROM on the root of you SD Card... than reboot the phone in recovery mod (press Home + power button until the menu shows) than go to install zip via Sd card >>> choose zip from Sd card .... and choose the CM zip on the root of your SD card..... after it fully loads wipe data and cache and reboot...
ENJOY YOUR CYANOGEN ROM....

After updating to cm-10.1-20121231-NIGHTLY i'm having problems with a boot loop. After rebooting the phone keeps hanging after showing the spinning CyanogenMod logo. From this position i cannot get into recovery-mode or download-mode using the 3-buttons combo. Also the computer won't detect the phone. What can i do to solve this problem?
Can you write down the steps you did to update your ROM?

I've updated using the option in "settings"menu and then the "about phone"menu. The possible update were also shown in the notification bar. So i haven't downloaded them and used the recovery-mode.
Try boot into recovery and install zip from sd, navigate to CM update and flash the update again, maybe wipe cache partition and dalvik first. Flashing twice sometimes helps.

Try these:
*Remove battery.Don't switch on your device.Just go to recovery using button combo and wipe dalvik cache,data.etc.
*If you can't go to recovery.Just go to download mode and flash a bootloader via ODIN( PC).
