[Q] How to find bluetooth address of my Revolution - LG Revolution

I need to find my bluetooth on address on my revolution to sync it with my sixaxis controller.Ive tried downloading the bluetooth address finder but it doesnt show up when i make my phone discoverable. Any siggestions or if theres any frimware downloads out there that will resolve this?

Are you referring to the bluetooth mac address?
With bluetooth on, go to settings, about phone, status ... it should be listed at the bottom.

Wireless tether?

I just rooted a phone on .5 stock firmware. Wireless tether from the market and pre 9 both install fine and start fine... but on other devices i dont see the network showing up. Is there a modified version or one that works good with stock? Thanks

I just tried pre3 and 3 evos dont see the ssid but a iphone does? Wtf someone please help haha

it shares the network in ad-hoc mode. Android phones by default can't see that unless they have a modified wpa supplicant. Iphone's and pc's can use it, buy game systems can't either. And apparently, neither can chrome os, damnit...

WiFi HotSpot for root

Found this the other night and wanted to share.
market.android.com/details?id=android.tether
If you open the link via the Market it will tell you that your carrier doesn't support it.
If you open the link via browser on your phone you'll be able to login to the market with your gmail credentials and invoke the download.
If you open the link via the market a second time you'll notice that install is an option.
I was able to install to my GingerVolt 1.3 without issue. I haven't actually tested to see if it works as a hotspot but it looks pretty legit.
The link actually came from the help off another HotSpot app I demoed in the market for $10. Said to use this instead if rooted.
Thanks to all of the devs for all of their time and mind blowing work. You guys are insane!

Add https:// to the beginning of the link. The forum app wouldn't let me post a link as my second post.

It wouldn't allow me to download it via the website. It said my device was not compatible.

You need to type in "wireless android tether" in your search engine and download the latest beta. I didn't go through android market.

That's what I use....works every time

OP this doesn't work

But this does

I second that. I downloaded and installed Beta 11 from the google.code repo, changed the device setting to LG Optimus S and the type to "softap". Worked perfectly allowed my rooted Nook Colors to connect FINALLY via my phone. I had used WF Garden before but could not connect my Nooks, now all my devices are connecting without any issues.
Wow. That 2nd link worked like a charm. Thanks

Mobile Hotspot?

Anyone have problems getting their touchpad to find a mobile hotspot from your android phone? If not, what app do you use? I'm rooted and have tried open garden and one other that I forgot the name of. Both didn't show up on my touchpad when scanning for a wifi connection.

Ok, I'm bringing this back up because I still havent really found a way to wifi tether with my Droid X2. I have done some research since posting this thread and found out that my Droid X2 only puts out an ad hoc connection which the TouchPad doesnt recognize. I have came across a couple possibilities though.
One is a patch that modifies wpa_supplicant. Not really sure what or where that is since I just found it and havent been able to play around with my TouchPad yet. But I think that patch is device specific and needs to be modifies IF it is to work for the TouchPad. Not sure. Here is a couple links.

Patch on XDA:

Another possibility and probably the easiest fix is downloading the app "zt 180 ad hoc wifi switcher" from the play store.

I will try the app when I get around to messing with my TouchPad which might not even be until tomorrow. But if anyone else tries either of these methods (or any other that works) and has success, please let me know.
Try Wifi tether for root, they have in the Google store. I have not used the latest one but if you have problems with it go to there web site and find the 3.0-pre12. I use that on my Droid Charge and have not had any problems.

I've tried a bunch of wifi hotspots apps, including wifi tether. The problem is my phone only puts out an ad hoc network which doesn't show up on the touchpad. I don't know what the Droid charge puts out.

I use foxfi and use the wifi and bluetooth options
You need an app to access the hotspot from your phone? I always just turn my phone's hotspot on and connect to it, never knew you needed an app. Interesting. Done this on gingerbread and ICS roms for my Inspire 4g.
Dunno what to tell ya... I have an SGS 2, a Dell Streak 5 and a 7 and A Galaxy Note... on all of those the only thing I use is the native hotspot tether with no issues with them putting out a signal to any other device I have
Maybe you oughta look at some type of wpa_supplicant tweak for the Droid X2, not the TouchPad, that you may need to implement to get tethering functioning correctly

Well I managed to get it working with pdanet on the touchpad and foxfi on my phone. But that's the only way it works. Weird. At least it works one way though.

Stock WebOS cannot see Adhoc networks. I'm not sure if the Droid X2 supports AP tethering.

Razr i mobile hotspot

Hi guys. I have been trying to set up mobile hotspot on my razr i but with no success. I'd like to connect my older phone via wifi. It all seems fine after setting it up it is all connected but no data go through. With my old nokia it worked without any problem.
Any suggestions?
Have anyone got it working on razr i?
I am still on ICS 4.0.4
No rooted and also don't want to use any hotspot apps from play store.
Many thanks.

Go to Settings>More( under wireless and networks) > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
You should see three options;
1. (Usually Carrier Name)
2 (Usually Carrier Name) dun
3. (Usually Carrier Name) MMS
Tap the first one, and scroll down until you see apn types. Change from
default to
default,dun. (NO SPACE)
That should fix it!
