So I ported THIS ROM Over to the captivate, and since Im no dev I have No idea what might be causing this. I am having user report that when they turn there screen off(Sleep) that it doesn't turn back on unless you do a battery pull. I Had to ask so I can see if someone else more experienced can assist me with this.
He has deep idle enabled. It really has no effect on battery. Just a "Placebo" affect. So disable and see if it works.

How may I do that lol?

Use NStools, or does that ROM have Semaphore packaged in it? If it is using Semaphore then use the Semaphore App. Also his 100 MHz may be too low. Slowly bump up the voltages until he finds a stable UV.
Hope this helps

Before anyone flames me or tells me that there are other topics let me say that nothing I do really works for me.
Anyways I'm using CM6 and 800mv kernel 2. 6. 35. In about 7hs of idle and 1hr using music and browser it drops to 64% would that be considered bad?
I use setCPU to limit the CPU when its screen is off. I turned off autosync. using launcherpro. What else can I do to make the battery life better?
Thanks

Try a program called Green Power. It's kind of like juice defender, but so far it hasn't killed my 3g apn
may I ask what you're settings are?

I just used all the stock settings, I don't think I changed anything.
Other than that, two other things I'd try:
1) Shutupbatterysaver. It's in the apps section. It's relatively new, but the dev is adding a bunch of new features. This turns off your apn when your reception falls below a certain db threshold. I tend to lose the most battery when I'm in areas with crappy reception. I just haven't really tried it in conjunction with green power, hopefully they'll play nice together.
2) find the battery thread in this forum and calibrate your battery using htc's charging method.
At 1:00 am my battery was about 75%
When I woke up at around 7:00am it was 43%...
The only that happens to my phone overnight is I have a titanium backup all apps + data at 2:00am..
Is this why it decreases a lot?

It maybe because of either BLN or WiFi sleep not enabled!
I did not have wifi on. I'm using the darky port v8.0. There is an app called bln but I never knew how to use it...

Curious why you would back up all your apps and data every night? If you have tons of apps it will use a significant amount of battery. Obviously could be your kernel that your running as well, or the modem, or a number of other factors.

Try this. Do a manual backup of all ur apps and data and see how much battery decreases. This will give u an idea of how much battery this task needs. On mine, it doesn't take more than 1% to backup like some 45+ apps and their data.
Well the back up doesn't even take 1% of my battery.. but I'm cancelling the schedule just for now to see what happens.

I don't think it's BLN. I frequently have Gmail get a new email in the middle of the night and not notice until morning, which means BLN was on the whole time, and I do not notice a negative effect on my battery.

Some ROMs have an app called Blinky, if you can find it. It allows you to set the BLN to blink, so you can save some battery that way.
Try flashing a different kernel. I can't remember which is included by default but I would suggest trying the speedmod kernel.
I guess the problem was tibu. My battery only decreased 7%. Is that y'alls battery life? And I have the bln app but how do you use it

That is good for idle drain overnight. As far as the app open it and check the box for enable, uncheck for disable? Don't like bln so I can't remember exactly.
I got a 54% decrease overnight and I realized I had wifi on. Is this the reason?

I leave WiFi connected at night and don't see that....I really think you should try another kernel.

I know how to flash a rom but I don't know how to get a new kernal. Any helpful links? Or should I just get a new rom with a different kernal?

Just go to the development section and look for threads prefixed with [KERNEL]. You can flash any kernel with SGS kernel flasher available from the market. I get insane battery life with glitterballs' kernel overclocked and undervolted, though I only enable wifi when doing extended browsing or downloading of files.
I'm running Perception 10.1 and I had HORRIBLE battery drain from day 1.
I noticed that my phone was constantly pinging the Google servers around every 5-7 seconds.
I had to disable automatic updates for Gmail in the stock email app and the ping/drain stopped. No idea what the real problem is. Gmail was set to update every two hours, but it obviously had other plans. Good thing my Gmail is a backup/spam account.
If I leave my phone charging over night, I wake up in the morning finding it off. Which is bad because my phone is my alarm, ha. This only started happening after I flashed WEUI and then ASNET MIUI. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm running MIUI ASNET 1.4.4 with the latest glitch kernel.

Lots of people have this issue, seems to be a hardware related under certain conditions, like when the battery is fully charged, wifi on.
Google "Captivate random shut downs" and you will find a lot of info.
I have a Captivate running Android 4.0.2 (ICS).
I will continue searching and just asked "Captivate Keep Alive" app developer (see "Play Store") if it is compatible with ICS.
If you're on Glitch, try bumping up the voltage of the lowest frequencies by +25 mV.

Thanks for the support. It's been about a month and I've learned to live with it. I've tried Captivate Keep Alive for a few weeks and it hasn't been much help. My main concern is having my Captivate survive the night. Nowadays, it'd turn off and the battery would discharge despite being plugged in.
As for Glitch kernel, I'm using Semaphore at the moment but I'll try that out. Thanks.
In case you are still looking. I think I'm in the same boat as you. Captivate Keep Alive worked fine for GB, but all ICS roms (and kernels) introduced the shutdown during charging. The fix is this app : Wake Lock. It does the same thing KA but it doesn't turn off when the phone is charging. Problem with Wake Lock is that you gotta control it manually.
So hopefully in the future they'll be a KA version with that option.

Thanks so much for the response. Maybe I can finally use my phone as an alarm again, ha. Which option do I choose in Wake Alarm? I'm going with CPU on, screen off, keyboard off at the moment.

Yes, those are the same values I use.
same issues,i've try many room, kernel, i9000 bootloader, configs, etc... no good luck ATM. Gonna try using different modems...

I'm with ICS now with "captivate keep alive" app turn on at any time I go into idle state and my phone dont shutdown.

I was using "Captivate Keep Alive" some on GB Roms, but was appearing incompatible with ICS, as the app, though still present, would turn off before it was supposed to.

I had raised my min CPU to 200 for shut downs.
Saw this post, I've never changed any of my voltage settings, never OC's, etc. I'm presuming in NS Tools, presuming from the "volt" tab, but am unsure of what to change to bump up min frequency.
Thanks

I even put min CPU to 1000 and nothing happens XD but Im using keep alive to 0% and no more shutdows (also use less battery than i though ), but having some bugs... after a while my phone dont receive more calls and cant make xD but i think that is some problem with modem)
Hi,
I have been struggling with my battery lasting not more than 15 hours once it has been fully charged, so I decided to investigate and found out about the deep sleep issue that a lot of people are facing. I would be attaching screenshots of CPU spy and better battery stats.
Most details are in screenshots, i would be glad to provide whatever else might be required !
I hope someone would diagnose and help me resolve the issue.
Thanks in advance

Try the fix in the link, below, also turn of account auto syncing.
also you could try the free version of watchdog, to see which apps/processes are using your cpu.

I had applied this fix .. and i had managed to get healthy deep sleep upto 70% of time in last charge discharge cycle, but in this cycle the situation is back to old one .. i.e. No Deep Sleep .. and i dont know what caused it, this time around. This fix works but it might sudeenly stop working for no reason.
Thats why i am posting the screenshots so that people can look at them and suggest me what caused it ...

This will only work if the root the phone ... well i didnt want to do that for as long as possible.
Ok not sure about network locator, audio1 is I think about a bug of android which you can test by going to sounds and turning of the options in bottom. Especialky the sound when touchscreen is touched. Its sucks but should fix that.
Network thing, again not sure but could be fixed by turning off network dormancy in *#9900#.
Next to this test strange route: turn on airplane mode, turn off phone, pull battery for 30sec then tunr on phone and turn off airplane mode. Dont know why but some reported it works. Could work in your instance.
After this check this thread for addition tips http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649041

(20 minutes without use + 3G off, 10% and gone...) if ill will update the semaphore it will help? to run clean kernel script? and if yes before or after the installation?
if not what can i do? its awful...
the problem is in the device of in the battery? if device in hardware or software?
Have you calibrated the battery? If no, then use battery calibrator from the play store.

i did it like 3-4 times never really helped...
try to find
you could download Betterbatterystats and run without charging. you may know which process is drinking battery juice.
i have faced that problem. It may be caused by modem, kernel, process which disturb deep sleep.
Better try the rom 2~3days. sometimes battery gets better.
Os monitor with root is also good to find which process is using cpu.
