I want to revert back to Stock GB from CM9. .Can i flash with mobile Odin??
flashing with Pc odin gives yellow triangle. .I dont want to that
It is not flashing with Odin that gives the red triangle. It is rooting your phone that does it. I used Odin to get rid of the red triangle (though the phone obviously still retains it's custom binary count)
I just downloaded the following ROM and flashed it with ODIN -
N7000XXLC1---------2.3.6-------2012 March----------N7000OXALC1-----------Open Europe----------------------------- Download (wipe)
I lost the triangle, lost root and gained a stock Galaxy Note.
Flashing stock Roms using PC Odin never gives you the triangle. Flashing custom kernels, Roms does.

Just as he said.. but if don't wana use Odin at all..then download the custom gb rom you want and download abyss3.9 kernel in your SD card..den do the following steps..
1.. go to recovery
2.. flash abyss kernel 3,9..
3.. don't reboot system...DONT...!!..
4.. go to advanced and select reboot recovery.. you will then reboot to abyss cwm recovery
5.. flash the gb rom you just downloaded..and reboot..
Okay first of all, flashing ANY STOCK ROM with PC Odin won't increase your binary counter, i.e. no yellow triangles.
Flashing ANYTHING (ROM obviously) with Mobile Odin won't give you the yellow triangle. Flashing non-stock or custom ROM with PC Odin will increase your binary counter.
So, just download any stock GB ROM from the development section and flash it with PC Odin. Simple!
I'm on Stock GB and wanna try CM9 ICS & other ICS roms... I know i have to flash Chainfire repack first, but which..?! There are more than one version...

Just flash ICS repack from CF which is available in Forum.. .. i guess it doesn't matter which one.. i have been flashing the old one whenever i go back to GB then come to ICS... i have done it many times now without any problems..
The one i found says NO WAY TO RETURN TO GB. So please give me link to the one you installed...
1. You CAN go back. Don't worry!
Here:

Flash it with Mobile Odin (Pro recommended) keeping all the options of Everroot checked. DONT flash with PC odin ...u wont get root if you do that.
Reboot and let the rom settle. Then go to recovery and then flash Stunner or any other ics rom you want.
Cheers! Enjoy your Note.
Hit thanks if it helped
I'm late in the discussion but this topic interests me.
But why can't you just restore Nandroid back using CWM from your GingerBread backup Nandroid?
(you did Nandroid your previous GB rom before you went to ICS, correct?)
Hi Guys
I seem to be stuck in a bootloop.
I tried flashing the latest GERMAN ICS (LPY) usind Dr.Ketans Guide. I Used Mobile ODIN PRO.
What seems to happen now, is when I turn on the phone it loops from the Samsung Splash Screen to a short burst of mobile odin/chain fire (Blue Android in background)
I'm not sure how to proceed, since my home button doesnot work too..
Any help would be appreciated
PS: I was rooted running STOCK gingerbread.

you're lucky. but i wondered why that happened to your note. i also flashed lpy and cf-root kernel from GB using mobile odin pro but it was successful. yesterday i did a full wipe and format the internal storage and now my note is super smooth and the battery lasts more than before (GB).

Ok I would suggest to try PC Odin to flash the Rom.
And maybe just STAY away from LPY at the moment, unless its absolutly necessary. I flashed my note with LPY and regret it since I have NO root, and am afraid to copy any large files to the storage.. Due to the kernal issues.
If you do decide to flash LPY make sure its through PC Odin and you dont do a wipe.
Can you get your Note into download mode?

This is how i did it:
Flashed LPY with odin PC (untick auto reboot)
Flashed CF-root with PC odin (untick auto reboot)
Booted into CWM and flashed franco r3 that i had on my sdcard
Reboot phone again in CWM on franco's kernel and then wipe/factory reset.
Running LPY like a boss!

Yes CF-root kernel is affected, but i think its no problem to flash franco with it because you wont touch the factory reset/wipe.
I'm not 100% sure if flashing a kernel on cf-root kernel uses the MMC_CAP_ERASE command.

i was on stock unrooted GB and flashed the official german LPY the day it was released via pc ODIN (before the warnings came about), everything is fine uptill now, i dont plan on rooting or using any sort of rom... am i in the clear or should i be worried???
---------- Post added at 09:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:47 PM ----------
what i mean is am i ok for now? or should i roll back to GB, also, as i am on the official german ICS and unrooted, will i get future official OTA updates??
bump!!! anyone?
So I am one of the "brave" souls who flashed ICS LPY via Mobile odin from Stock GB prerooted ROM. I flashed it together with cf 5.3 kernel. Its been 10 days now and i haven't had any problems but i was lucky that i haven't used CWR nor factory restore. So after reading all the warnings that LPY has a bug on eMMC i want to safely go back to Gingerbread.
Ive searched the forum and found a few methods (Mobile ODIN, PC ODIN, CWR) but i want to make sure that i don't get my device bricked (have no warranty). So my question is Should i choose Full Wipe or a non wipe option while getting back to GB? Or maybe wait a little longer and just try not to stress the I/O till the issue gets resolved?

Full wipe everything just to have a clean gb rom to use afterwards. You don't want to have remains of other roms in there! Just to be sure!

Download pre rooted rom and flash thru pc odin. I came back to gb litening rom twice from lpy and alba 2.1.
This is the way how I downgraded to gb from ics succesfully. It doesn't mean is 100% no risk at all.
Good luck.

and after gb restored , full wipe? Or the rom itself full wipe?
or maybe wait for new ics?

If you feel comfort with the current ics and without any major bug, just keep using it and enjoy while the dev looking for the solution and waiting for kernel sources code realease.
Just keep in mind DUN USE THE CWM.
OR YOU CAN USE TITANIUM BACKUP AND FREEZE THE CWM FOR ANY ACCIDENTALY WRONG PRESS.

When ICS came out i rushed and Flashed a cf root lpy zimage (kernel only) via Recovery ( i know it was stupid.. ) So i got stuck and i could only come up to CWM. I used the CWM to BACK UP MY DATA (this was before i even flashed the ICS rom). From there i used PC odin to flash kka gingerbread rom. Flashed it without problem. Then i flashed ICS LPY rom together with LPY kernel via Mobile Odin and i clicked wipe data. Everything went well. I haven't used CWM. Now i am affraid that i could have bad EMMC. Should i stay on ICS or should i flash stock GB rom again?

I had answered your question thru email. Stick with your current ICS rom will be the best option and choices. Since I do believe no one at the forum able to give you 100% accurately exactly what happen with your emmc. Just enjoy your ics.
Please don't simply flash any gb rooted kernel so that able use the cwm again and go back to gb. Please read the instruction carefully.
PERSONNAL OPINION: I'm always prefer flash stock or pre rooted gb rom thru pc odin beside flash axxx4.2kernel to perform full wipe.

Well according to the devs here you should be good. But noone can guarantee you are 100%. I decided to wait till the issue gets resolved even though i haven't used recovery at all. I am taking my chances on ICS. But again staying on ICS isn't safe either I am quoting CHainfire here..

It's all possible. Either way, what I wan't to make absolutely clear again:
If the problem is present in CF-Root LPY (and it's not a "leftover" problem from previous ROM - this is possibly the case), then it's also present in stock LPY. This means you *can* randomly brick your phone even if fully booted into Android, under heavy I/O load.
(on the Note there normal and recovery kernels are the same, and CWM is just a userspace program, nothing special(!) - so if the problem can happen in CWM, it can happen in Android)"
So whichever choice you make... good luck.

Yup, is true. Beside you need to stay away from cwm, you should be aware when doing the large file transfer.
Stick with Lpy, do not touch cwm at all, try to avoid do any large files transfer.
Relax bro...u should be fine...just follow what the instruction given by the dev. Since no one really know exactly what happen.

hi
I lost my last sgn after super brick
now i m want to downgrade my phone from ics 4.0.4 to gb
i have not root my phone (fear from BRICK)
is it safe to flash gb rom (from ics) via pc odin
i want paranoid rom to flash (is it safe to install via CWM?)
if i want to come back on gb then my phone not bricked
one more q : when i install paranoid then i recover som space on hard disc ? ( because gb is 650 mb+ and paranod jelly bean is only <300 mb)
Simply flash pre rooted ROM from my signature with PC odin
After successfull flashing, wipe cache, delvic cache and data.
Then follow instruction on paranandroid ROM thread.
You cant manipulate system ROM space..

If u want flash paranoid u must rooted...
U will brick ur note if u do the wipe from stock kernel ics..
So,root ur note using cf root or other custom rom like notecore or speedmod using pc odin n flash custom kernel gb like abyss kernel..
Do full wipe on abyss kernel..
N flash paranoid..

Simply flash pre rooted ROM from my signature with PC odin
After successfull flashing, wipe cache, delvic cache and data.
Then follow instruction on paranandroid ROM thread.
You cant manipulate system ROM space..

dr.ketan, my note is on stock ics no roms/root or anything pure sotck, wanted to go back to GB
i have the tar file for N7000JPLA1_N7000OJPLA1_N7000XXLA4_HOME.tar
will flashing via pc odin cause a brick ? and will the emmc fault still remain ?
Jpla1 is gb rom, you can flash with pc odin, after flashing you may find force close, but nothing to worry Reboot in recovery and wipe cache and data.
Once you are on gb rom no issue of brickbug.

thanks,
sotck ics lags a lot and when i went to ssc they advised me they dont have currently the old rom so they told me to wait for an update to fix ics which i dont think i will go back to (for the time being)
i was worried that flashing the GB stock over the ics might brick the phone using pc odin so thx for your support
will install via pc odin then reboot in recovery (power up + home + power) factory reset after the gb kernel installs
hopefully get this big screen running again

Really need the expert here to help me out.
I restored my phone to rooted ICS stocked Rom, but get stuck in the samsung logo.
I have tried to flash the phone with the ICS stock Rom by odin but stuck at factoryfs.img, then I try to flash the phone with pre-rooted GB but stuck at the NAND Write Start.
any help is much appreciated !!

Sorry, but this seems to be the brick bug. So you didn't read and followe the warnings in all the stickies, right?
So maybe a good point for starting to read about brick bug here (this isn't meant sarcastic).
Easy help or solution isn't possible. You could try with your Samsung warranty.
Have you ever wiped on stock ICS ?

No, I didn't wiped anything on stock ICS.
What I did before is to is to use CWM.zip to root the stock ICS and then flash to Criskelo ICS ROM
it went very well and I don't find any problem.
before after using CWM.zip to flash a different kernel (speedmod), it stuck at the logo screen.
please help me Dr. ketan
restoring usrtnda

Yes , I learnt the lesson of not using the temp CWM.zip.
after I restored my phone, it should be in the default stock kernel .
Are you suggesting I use Odin to install a "safe" kernel , for example , "SpeedMod K3-13 for Odin" and try a wipe?

Yes... u can use PC odin and the tar file of speedmod in PDA to change the kernel... moreover when u install the speedmod u get CWM automatically
PS: not a 100% guarantee of success

I think this one is when you are sure shot brick, may be you should first try flashing rooted GB rom using odin and if that too didn't work, try the method in your link. You can find rooted GB in my sig.

Finally , PIT method as mention in the link works !!!
I got the rooted GB in my Note back in life now ! although I lost 5 GB after pit. it's better than a expensive paperweight before !
by the way, is there any way to restore the data that I have backup in stock ICS without bricks the note again ?
thanks

Great!! how did you backup? If it is nandroid then do not try to restore on GB and if TB or any other app then you can restore one by one, except system apps.
