As of "Nightly Build 5", you'll notice certain things will be removed in favour of a smaller download size. However, here is the good news: I will be turning these removed items in "extras packs" so that you can add them back if you really want them. You, the end user, will get even more choice as certain "Extras Packs" will use Aroma so you can choose which particular features of the Extra Pack you actually want while leaving out the ones that you do not want.

Running this on a vivid, and it is great. Might be my favorite Rom so far, because it feels very clean.

My ROMs use SuperSU.
You can always get SuperUser from the Play Store. If that still doesn't work then I'll have to investigate further.
However, it seems you're probably the first one to have issues.
Also, remember that although this ROM is ~95% stable, this is still a nightly build, so things can still easily go wrong.
I may have forgot to put that into the disclaimer, thanks for reminding me

Thanks for your hard work
Thanks guys. I'm definitely going to target international as I have noticed that there has been more than just Telstra customers downloading this ROM.
Hey Mr Kennedy, thanks for developing an Oz-oriented ROM.
I'm thinking of getting a Velocity to replace my Desire Z. I can't justify the cost of a Telstra plan but I like the idea that one day the other providers will upgrade their HSDPA and I'll get up to 21/42mbps. Optus might even expand LTE1800 outside Newcastle, but I won't hold my breath on that.
From everything I've read so far (on WP and Telstra Crowdsupport), the Telstra official 4.0.3 update is a disaster in terms of bluetooth and 3G reception.
Does your ROM use the same radio? If so, have you had these issues (ie degraded phone performance compared with 2.3.7)? I would just leave it on GB but posts like this: http://www.talkandroid.com/102771-h...cent-improvement-over-vivid-with-gingerbread/ make me think there's serious performance potential in ICS.
Was unsuccessful with Apple. Despite this, their group interview was still well planned and enjoyable and I'm thankful for the opportunity.
Despite being unsuccessful, it doesn't mean you can't re-apply in six months. They said so themselves. Truth is, you are still given the opportunity to improve yourself by attending workshops, observing the Genius during your appointment, or just walk in and observe the guys working there; and you may be surprised at exactly how much you have learned. Then you can go to your second try ready to tackle it on more effectively and hopefully better.
I sincerely believe that you'll be likely considered for a one-on-one if you can show them that you have truly learnt what it is to be an Apple Retail employee and can show them you have improved by a lot since last time you were at their Hiring event. Six months isn't all that long really, however, it is still a good enough timespan to improve heaps.
Good job and great rom, i am using it.. thanks.
about the job don`t be disappointed, you will fined even better.
Hey Leigh
2 things please:
1) Any screenshots?
2) I'm using the official Telstra OTA (by Pirateghost). If I move over to your ROM, I assume a full wipe is a requirement?
Thanks

Hacked together ramdisk. A "ramdisk mish-mash" if you will.
Pulled relevant files from CM. libs, /usr.
ril from ID.
We're lucky in that we're not the the first devs to port it. The Evo build helped us fix:
keys, lights, lcd density... more stuff that I don't know what it QUITE does, but I pulled it anyway.
Grab gapps from CM. I'll get a link up. Link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version
Scroll downnn. Far right. Clicky.
EDIT: Do a full boot of the ROM. THEN flash Gapps WITHOUT WIPING. After Gapps flash, do NOT wipe anything.
IN OTHER WORDS, DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING AFTER INSTALLING THE ROM (unless you're about to install another).
r2DoesInc is downloading my build now. Once he's all good, I'll post link.
And now, for the main event. What you've all come to see... the LINK!!

Are these bootloops occurring on the device, or are you using an emulator to test it before you try it on hardware?

Thanks guys for taking this on. If you have read the threads you probably already know that this Inc forum is a pretty harsh place. I am not sure why but it seems like there is more name calling, belittling, hating and dev bashing here than any other forum I have been on.
All I can say is keep your heads up, ignore the haters/bashers and know that the majority of us appreciate the work you put into these projects.
THANKS!
This place is rarely like I can think of very few instances where that happened and I read this forum a lot.

I’ve been compiling some Cyanogenmod 9 builds for my tab recently and I've decided to share them here. The Cyanogenmod project is still under heavy development, so there will be bugs. Although I will be testing the wifi builds before I post them I may not be able to catch all bugs before I release the build; install these builds at your own risk and be aware of what you are doing. I take no responsibility for any damage caused by these builds. If I notice small bugs while testing I will make a note of them with the release. I plan on updating these builds every 3 days.
I am fairly new to the Android scene, so please provide feedback if you feel that I could be doing something better.
Thanks to:
The Cyanogenmod team and pershoot- This is their work, I am simply compiling their code.

Thanks! I look forward to hearing the results. The filehosting site I'm using might have been flagged by ESET for some reason. In fact, the reason I didn't use devhost is because I use the same security software and I've had this exact same problem with them. It should work if you temporarily disable virus protection, I assure you that there's nothing malicious in these files If it's still causing problems I'll re-host the files somewhere else tomorrow.
out of curiousity, what's different about this ROM than the other (supposedly...) nightly builds here? Regardless, thanks!

They are all built from the same code so the only real difference is update frequency. The other kangs tend to update every 1-2 weeks so they may be more well tested; I'm aiming to provide something more cutting edge. The builds listed as "nightly" are referring to an official snapshot Cyanogen posted earlier this month, it hasn't been updated and seems to have been pulled from the download site as well.
EDIT: FIXED

When Cyanogen team pushed out the 2 nightlies for the tab they pushed one for P4wifi and one for P4tmo and the one for P4tmo could be used on P4(GT-P7500). So my question is, can we use the one for Verizon LTE also or is there any hardware diffrence between P4tmo and Verizon device?

I'm not entirely sure, but my guess is that there is probably a hardware difference. I would suggest trying this build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1461240. I will try to post a p4tmo build next time but I won't be able to test it myself.

Ok, i stay of it then. But it sure is tempting to try. When we used Tmo build on P4 we just had to change updater script and it was fully functional with 3G.

No camera in any ICS ROM until Samsung releases their code. None. Not going to happen. Period. Stop asking.
I think there is a problem with ICS rom on my LTE tab. It doesn't matter which roms i tried, i always have the battery drain issue ( due to system awake during standby mode.)
- I did format data/wipe cache + davik before flashed the rom.
- Auto sync on except for picture
- Other apps i use which are running in backgound are Hd widget, wizz widget , friendcaster, Battery monitor widget. These are the same app i use when i running 3.2 twz rom ( battery drain about 20-30 mAh. With ICS rom, it is 170-180mAh).
=>Does anyone know how i can solve this problem? Thank in advance!
Just a quick update on what's going on:
Pershoot has posted new builds in the other kang threads; these builds contain new library files as well as kernel updates. You may want to check out the updated CWM recoveries he has built as well. I'll be building these new libraries into my builds starting with the next one. If the kernel updates aren't merged into cyanogenmod at the time of the next build I'll build a kernel as well. I've also decided to leave the 3G and LTE builds to other developers for the time being, since I don't have the hardware to test them it's hard to keep up with updates and issues.
Since I updated I cannot be my tab to connect to my windows pc any ideas?

Oops, know the solution - will upload again in 10 minutes - just popping over to the local corner shop
Sorry for the wait guys, broadband seems to be taking the mick when uploading to dev-host 50kb uploads - wtf?
This should fix it http://tinyurl.com/clvqd2o
Thank you. It's nice to see this phone finally get some attention. I'm having some issues with the Wifi and data connections on my sasktel version of this phone. The only way i can get internet is through passthrough using my computer.
Thanks for this rom, I was hoping something like this would be out there and stumbled upon it by accident
I have it installed and everything but like the above poster, I cannot connect to wifi - when I try to turn it on it just says error.
It was weird since it synced my google account and then after that would only let me connect through pass through. 4g is not working for me at all. Wifi just says error when trying to enable.
I can call/text just fine. Mobile data would be pretty key though.
You don't have 4G because the rom is based on the European RUU.
Btw, how is the performance, any noticable difference?
For all of those having trouble with the WiFi error here is the fix

Forgot that some will be new to this whole ROM flashing thing as it is a entry level device, probably should have explained what the boot.img in the OP was for. Fixed my mistake now - sorry for any problems

Narathan is right, it's because it is the European RUU, and the EU version does not have 4G. If you can find the US RUU I'll happily make you the ROM, but unfortunately I cannot find it.
Made a development index for this device so all ROM's, kernels etc. are in one place http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29295672. Will add to the OP.

So I've been running this ROM for a few days now and I can see a noticable difference in performance!
On stock rom my phone used to be very sluggish - playing music and having a notification come up would result in stuttering and lagging during playback. Also opening, say, Whatsapp would take a good few seconds. Now everything feels very snappy with only a very minor lag when running Poweramp and a few other programs in the background.
I think when people manage to overclock this device to say, 800 Mhz, you would have a really decent phone. Not sure if you can get any higher.
Or by getting rid of Sense 4 would also work a lot I think (on my HTC Desire HD this make a world of a difference in performance).
Battery life is still very good, easilly reach the end of the day with around 50% left, but it still needs to be calibrated.
So, thumbs up and keep up the great work!
Ill give this rom a try. Thing I would like in future releases
battery percentage in status bar as an option vs battery icon
maybe shortcuts in notification bar for wifi, gps etc
no big deal if you cant or have other stuff more important.
Using apps for this currently.
Also some people may find this interesting but launcher 7 works pretty well and fast on this device. With small screen the big windows icons really help I find

I'm thinking of buying this phone (unlocked for 199 €) for my GF basically because it seems like it's one of the cheapest ICS smartphones out there.
I haven't flashed an Android phone in my life (last phone I flashed was a Motorola MPx200 ages ago) and for some reason the process of flashing an Android phone doesn't seem easy or intuitive; and although I use Linux from time to time, I'm no expert with it so... do you think that I should try to flash it so that the phone is snappier or is there high risks of me bricking it?
Just killing some of my curiosity before I get my hands on it.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: wow, I've just realized that, after 5 years from joining this forum, this is my first actual post! LOL!

There is little risk of bricking unless you do something stupid. And you won't see a remarkable improvement by flashing this ROM , you'll have to wait for really good custom kernels or AOSP ROM's

Well, taking into consideration that the CPU is quite weak, I guess any improvement is well received. Are the official ROMs also zipaligned?
Could someone provide some screenshots of the rom please.

ParanoidAndroid 3.00 for the HTC Holiday
(Vivid, Velocity, and Raider)
If you'd like to use this ROM as a base for a new ROM, please ask me first. Chances are very good I won't care.
This is still JB 4.1.2, since we're still building PA with a CM base. PA's new AOSP 4.2 base appears to be on the same 'jellybean' branch, which is why (I'm assuming) the version still went up to 3.00. I didn't change this, it was built that way from PA source.
Disclaimer: I do not claim to be a developer... However, by READING, SEARCHING, and TRYING, I've learned some tricks of the trade. One of them has been building from source. All I am doing is putting a few pieces together to make it compile, all the hard work has been done by h8rift and mg2195. Their repos, hard work, and dedication build this ROM - all thanks/credit goes to them as well as the CM and the PA teams. Being that this is built off of h8/mg's trees, any bugs present in the CM10 ROM will be present in this ROM. The box that I compile on is by no means speedy, so updates will come when there are major breakthroughs, as soon as I can get them built. Feel free to post bugs, but please don't expect them to be addressed quickly, especially if it's not on h8's or mg's to-do list - like I said, I'm not a developer, but I will be tinkering – but with 4 kids, a full time job, a house to manage, and a build PC that’s years behind the game, play time comes sparingly. I test these builds on my own device before any release, but I do not claim it will work for everyone. ALWAYS have a nandroid in case of emergencies. I am NOT responsible for bricked devices or catastrophic failure Changelog and Screenshots live in the second post. .
What is it?
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT. This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.
What works:
- Mobile Data
- SMS/MMS
- Phone
- GPS
- Core OS stable
- WiFi
- Camera
- ATT WiFi hotspot (and probably USB tethering as well, haven’t tested) - StraightTalk Hotspot/tethering may be working too. Let me know
What doesn't work:
- Gallery still hiccups with 720/1080p playback sometimes and tells you it can't play the video. Simply restarting the video once or twice will get it. Also, fast forwarding/rewinding 720/1080 in stock player is glitchy as well.
- Can't control in call volume and remote party may have a slight echo
- You tell me
Your bootloader must already be unlocked and you must have custom recovery installed (WCX Recovery tested, approved, and recommended)
Backup your current ROM
Download ROM .zip to your SD Card
pa_holiday_unofficial-3.00-13FEB2013
Download gapps (20121011) to your SD Card: : Gapps
Boot to Recovery: Wipe Data, System, Cache, and Dalvik Cache.
Flash ROM from Recovery
Flash the Gapps package from recovery
Reboot
IF YOU ARE S-ON - You will need to fastboot flash the boot.img that’s included in the .zip (I always flash boot.img twice, just to be sure) - Drag boot.img from rom .zip to your fastboot directory, boot to bootloader, select Fastboot, plug in USB cable, and from your fastboot directory run:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot
If you're having a problem and would like to bring it to my attention, you're welcome to do so, but please:
Search to make sure it hasn't been addressed
Don't sound like my whiny 5 year old
Perform a full wipe (data, system, cache, and dalvik) and reflash the ROM. Verify the issue persists before installing any apps or backups
Take this work for what it is - and follow h8 and mg's work in the CM thread for progress updates, and give them many praises and thank yous.
Without these teams/members, this would not be possible. Donations should go their way, if you feel obliged:
Paranoid Android Team
Cyanogenmod Team
h8rift for saving the day, and providing his sources
mg2195 for keeping the project alive, and providing an excellent tutorial for compiling/building
Utacka for keeping his 2.55 sources up while PA transitions
gokussjx for the awesome compile PA how-to
htc-msm8660 git
ParanoidAndroid git
ParanoidAndroid merged commits
My git so you can follow along at home with my amateur moves, however if the changes are proper and I feel worthy, I will ask h8rift if they should be merged. That is up to h8rift and intervigil. In the meantime my git is experimental

Looks like mostly everything is working Seems great and looks like new life for the vivid! Glad that my device is coming in a few days
Thanks Homeslice
Only what's working in cm. Att in call Mic still unusable, camera crashes, etc.. but h8rift is doing awesome work!
Nice
You beat me too it I was going to start getting all the stuff together to build the PA, but your ahead of the game, nice work.
Haha yeah... My first successful Paranoid Android build was in mid October sometime.. I've just been holding off sharing until cm was usable enough. You should start on AOKP so I can delete those repos and get some space back
Nice job man! I just hope h8 and mg would fix BT and Cam. so happy to see the development on vivid is getting a new life!
Exciting to see the collaboration and devotion emerging amongst us vivid users. I was actually thinking about starting to learn development as well specifically for this. I have a newborn and full time job and family to be with lol so I can understand where your coming from

What works:
- Mobile Data

- Phone
- GPS
- Camera
- WiFi
- ATT WiFi Hotspot (and maybe StraightTalk too)
What doesn't work:
Here (http://code.google.com/p/htc-msm8660/issues/list) is the Issue tracer for CM10. These issues will also be present in this ROM. DO NOT POST NEW ISSUES TO THIS LIST UNLESS YOU'VE FIRST DONE A FULL WIPE, FLASHED CM10, AND VERIFIED THAT THE ISSUE PERSISTS. IT IS VERRRRRRY POSSIBLE THAT THESE ROMs HAVE INTRODUCED NEW BUGS THAT ARE NOT PRESENT IN CM, WHICH NEED TO BE REPORTED ME, NOT THE CM10 ISSUE TRACKER - Bluetooth
- Non ATT Tethering/Hotspot (StraightTalk hotspot might work too)
- Camera has a bit of a bluish/orangish hue to it (Fix: http://www.mediafire.com/?15guubzesa84e13 (flash in recovery) - Alternatively, just change ro.product.device=Holiday to ro.product.device=holiday (notice the h isn't capitalized?) in build.prop, save, and reboot. I will fix this in the next build)
- process com.android.phone has stopped message on boot/reboot/possibly when you don't have service? (sometimes once, sometimes a few times), but doesn't seem to affect anything after that

To answer the above.. I havent had enough of a chance to play with any of them to make that decision. I like a lot of parts of both of them I guess, and pa. I've never actually got to use a pacman Rom..so I look forward to trying that.. Its just nice to have the option to choose sorry for such a vague answer.. maybe ill have some more insight on that once I'm able to use any of them as a daily. Im on att and need my phone to operate as a phone. And with 4 kids the camera is pretty important to me as well.. so for the time being, these are only for play time for me
I know the limited time deal - also 4 (young) children, married, full time job... Very blessed, and learning time-management^n
Patience with this device is actually on the precipice of paying off Not sure I need to try pac-man, probably settle for one of these three first new rooms, but haven't ever been more excited about any of my phones!
