Hi,
I want to check USSD Queris (e.g. *140#) on my tablet in case of checking my balance or etc. is there any way?
Thanks.
iirc there is a Samsung code app on the market that may work

If you have the AT command reference for the radio or modem you can do it that way..

If you install the ICS cm9 then yes, stocks no. Your sim toolkit may have a entry for you to do so.

The kernel and modem are firmware that interface the hardware to the OS, not files. It's kind of like the BIOS on a PC.

this. they arent 'files' in the traditional sense once they are on your phone.
Is there any way to verify, other than looking at about phone?

Flash a new modem and you'll know for sure.

About phone will tell you the info you need. Don't really know why you think you need to verify that.

Of course it's the same, doesn't matter if you're running GB or ICS. Dial *#9900# and disable Fast Dormancy from the menu you get there.

its definitely not the same code, it worked perfectly fine before the last update
since then about 2 weeks ago its not possible to get into the menu, it just say connection problem or invalid mmi code.

whoa.. i guess it only works with the original keypad....
crazy
I'm on Criskelo v10.1 and the code is working fine.
I've also tried on another Note which is on Stock ROM, the code is working as well.
The only code which is not working on both Note I've tried is *#0011# to show the GSM status.

What is that new patch? Is samsung now making safe ics rom?
In some roms certain config apps are missing.
There is a toggle app for sgs3 that works on note

Hi, I've started looking into rooting my T and started finding out if I could unlock my bootloader to start off with, when I saw that in my service info menu I can't unlock the bootloader... What can I do now? I would like to install custom kernels and ROMs but can't with this in place. I'm with o2, using the James bond edition. Any help please? Cheers!
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
If the service menu says no, then you cannot unlock your bootloader, which means no custom kernels and that you are limited to custom ROMs that are stock based

And there's no way around it? Is there no ftf that could enable it?

I read somewhere that it was related to bring sim locked. If I sim unlock could that help?

i dont think so.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896553
I know this is not for xperia t, but some loose connections are made between sim unlock and boatloader unlock allowed. I'll test it when coursework isn't so piled up, or if anyone else could test it?

Have fun,
1. you have to pay
2. you need a removable battey
if you have a removable battery good luck (But you have the LT30p, so no removable battery), but be careful, because if you get the wrong test point you will HARD brick your phone. And without knwong which is the test point.its all a guess
It says that newer models have the same unlock code nowadays. At any rate I'm afraid I can't test right now

Stumbling block 1 with this method
How are you going to remove your battery to find the test point?
do you not think this would have already been tried...its already a method used on xda, I used it to unlock my neo (The free method). But on the T..how are you going to get the back off without specialist tools
What I'm going to do is first just SIM unlock and see the config menu to see if the unlock status has changed. I'm not going to interfere with the hardware. I might also ask my carrier why that's in place and if they can do anything about it. That's my plan so far... I don't know much about the programming of android but I presume that this is simply a value which is similar to Boolean; true or false, so would it not just be a matter of finding the relevant code and changing it? Like taking the (I'm assuming that this would be in system file maybe?) Files of a t with unlock allowed and comparing it to one with unlock denied? Or simply flashing a generic firmware which is unbranded? I only know a bit of visual basic, so sorry if this sounds stupid. I'm still a learner

If it was that simple, it would already be done. We have devs with EMMC access that can not do that yet, so a pleasent phone call to your carrier is not llikely to work.
Thanks for enquiring, and if you have any ideas please PM bin4ry or the_laser, they are the guys that are up to date with this,
regards
greg
I can confirm that having the SIM lock removed by your carrier will not change the bootloader unlock status. Done this with my Xperia T skyfall edition being locked to o2, SIM unlock Code given by o2 but bootloader is still locked and not available to unlock
Just another note updated firmware but lock is still there, just encase anybody was thinking after updating it may have changed.

Are you joking.
Follow the link in my signature to the all in one thread.
Locked bootloaders = stock baased roms only
Unlocked bootloaders = any rom

No problem. Its the first thread in the Q&A, in the stickies (You will need to press the sticky section if you are on the app)
I'm able to install the app from the play store OK, but it's not connecting to my Sim.

I have the firm element sim. It allows you to download the app, put in numeric pass code but then it says device not supported. I did all the hard legwork for you...

you likely need to change the device model in build.prop to trick it
Yes, that would work but without a backup or a custom recovery you are really playing with fire. Huge Risk
The app will also not work on a rooted device.

all you have to do is install root cloak and you can use this on a rooted device but it will not work on the Moto X

thanks to @graffixnyc you guys have a backup already located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/img-kxe21-187-42-pure-edition-rooted-t2892882
it's also super easy to use root explorer and create a copy of your build.prop.
and you guys have a test recovery for at least flashing zips. that's all you need right now honestly. take some risks. that's how you learn.

It does on Verizon! Not that I'd use it
So in theory one must change model number to supported device and hide root?
Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone had success?
Looking to get Moto X Pure but would like to keep using Softcard. (currently using Softcard on rooted ATT Note3 with root cloak).
Thanks in advance.
Just picked up a used phone, and I'm curious if there's a way to check if it's been rooted before?
I think you want to check if the bootloader has been unlocked.. This degrades the phone.
