Yes of course, i don't understand because on ginger it works without problem. Online on ics just plus in the USB port immediateley UNKNOWN DEVICE

You're using an 11 year old operating system that hasn't had a proper update in 4 years...
Probably a driver issue! IIRC ICS uses a different protocol for usb than GB, so that's probably why.

Sure xp is an old operating system but with the nexus prime i didn't have problems and it works fine. It' s a driver's problem but what could i do to solve it ? Thanks

plug the phoine in
go into device manager and remove the listed device with the error unplug phone an plug it back in and let it reinstall itself
if that fails, try it on a different pc if it works then you know its your pc causing it

Download and install the correct standalone USB drivers:
windows 32bit
windows 64bit

Nexus One USB Connection Issue

Hello I just got my Nexus One (woot!). I connected it to my PC and the Nexus One keeps saying USB Connected then Disconnected over and over. Windows sees my phone (im on windows 7). anyone know how to fix this problem?
check and make sure the cable is plugged in good to the computer, im having problems with mouting the sd card in 7 it cant find the driver for the phone.
nvm it seems my monitor's usb port doesnt like nexus one
yours found the driver?
yeah it found it problem was that my usb port on minter didnt like nexus one and kept disconnecting it.. i plugged it in to a DIFFERENT USB port on monitor and now its working 100% solid. kinda funny actually
If youre having problems with the drive try downloading usbdeview (32-bit) (64-bit)
unplug your phone, run the program and select all items on the list with the word android in them, and uninstall them all. Then plug your phone back in and see what happens.
still nothing
I had to download the newest android usb driver in order to get it to work on xp.
You need r3 of the driver, which doesn't appear to be on the android site yet (I got it by installing the full sdk with the updater app and then doing an update).
You can get the driver here:

is there anyway someone can open access to this? i wanted to download it but it says access denied.
thanks

The problem can be the typical Nexus one. The USB port maybe damaged. I think my problem caused by the port. But for this I can't give a lot solution just this, you have to change the panel. I don't know how much is it. Anyone can give us a trick for that. And one more thing. For transfering files you can use airdroid. It's a really useful app.

[Q] MTP USB Device won't install on Windows

When I connect my Galaxy S to my PC it starts to install the drivers.
The driver consist of 3 parts, but the last one, the MTP USB device, fails to install. I tried restarting my pc after installing Kies and also tried alternate drivers for Windows 7 x64.
When I connect my phone in Kies mode I get an error saying:
FsUsbService64
Service Initiali Failed
(screenshot attached)
Anyone familiar with this problem and/or it's solution?

I have the same problem, however using Windows XP 32 bit SP3
And I get:
Try this, its good for win7 32bit and 64bit also. (My girlfriend and I both have our own SGS, and her win7 32bit is working flawlessly with this driver just like my win764bit.)

Thanks a lot! I will try this later on when I'm able to connect to my pc.
If this doesn't work, could it have something to do with the firmware version?

All I know is that this usb driver package helped me and my gf either, without this pack I got the same error like you did, and since then everything works properly. If this package cant help you then I have to admit this is beyond my knowledge.
Just found our that i left my usb cable at work
Thanks again for your suggestion. I will try this after the weekend.

Some more info.
The last one is from Event Viewer, where it claims that this version of Windows does not support Windows Portable Device drivers.
What a bunch of bollox, my HTC HD2 synced just fine. Must be Samsung crappy driver I guess.
And yeah, I got v 4.5 of windows installer.
update: after lots of googling, I've solved the issue.
re-installed Windows Mediaplayer 11 !

huh?.. mediaplayer? wierd solution ..
I had this issue too, on my moms pc.
I installed kies befor plugging my phone to the pc, it worked perfectly then, installed the drivers and all. could not see if you had tried that. so its worth a shot
another thing to keep in mind
open TASK Manager in Windows
and make sure ADB.EXE is not running
if ADB.exe is there just end task it
when ADB.exe is left in memory, it locks up the USB connection with the phone, and Kies goes into dumb mode

Not really, WMP 10 is the one responsible for the stock MTP driver.
My old computer worked fine with kies, but this new 64 bit one just wont insall the mtp driver, even if i try manually.
Just a quick note on what I discovered last night when trying to get my SGS connected.
Bluetoothe needs to be off
It has to be using the stock Home screen I was as ever using LauncherPro. As soon as I switched back to stock it connected.

try what I did, re-install WMP 10 (or 11)
I don't know if this is obvious or not... but if your running a downloaded Launcher such as Launcher Pro... make sure you revert back to the stock launcher when trying to connect to KIES. This has been my problem until I stumbled across it last week.

[Q] Computer not recognizing phone in download mode

I rooted and installed Cognition 2.1.6 on my phone a few weeks ago and want to change to Cognition 3.04. When attempting to flash back to stock via Odin, my computer will not recognize the phone in download mode. (I'm using AIO Toolbox and running the debug check.) The PC fully recognizes the phone until I'm in download mode. I get an error "The device has malfunctioned" and the device manager shows an unknown device. I uninstalled and reinstalled the 32-bit drivers and the same issue occurred. I've tried both Odin 1 click and Odin 3 click and neither recognizes my phone, although I doubt it matters which version of Odin I'm trying. I've searched all over the forums and the closest thing I've found is pointing the device manager to the driver, but the Samsung USB driver directory has numerous .inf files and I have no idea which one to choose. Any help?
Other relevant info: Win XP SP3 32-bit, Captivate Build 1012...
havent heard good things about xp and aio toolbox... dev doesnt own xp, but does have vista and win7,
when pointing to a driver select the whole samsung folder and check the box that says "also search sub-folders" .... or wait not sure if xp has that option, its been 6 years... hope it does.
but if your drivers installed by the program, you shouldnt need to manual install.
try different usb cable (you didnt do that fast charge tinfoil thing did you?)
try different usb port,
try different operating system (torrent win7)

Hmm... The only issues with XP seemed to come with flashing a custom ROM step not the drivers. It seems like there is an issue with the drivers and/or usb ports. Have you tried connecting it to the USB ports near the back of the computer?

I had this problem when I tried last weekend without using AOI, so I doubt it's an issue with Toolbox. (I just pointed out that I used Toolbox to note that I definitely had debugging on. I tried to include as much relevant info as possible in the OP to avoid a lot of "have you tried this [basic function]" replies.) I tried multiple ports, too. I'll give it a go in the morning and see if Trusselo's "search folder" suggestion is a possibility...
I had this same problem and i searched for a fix for the three button method

[Q] Galaxy Tab Issue

Not sure when it began but I am unable to connect my tab to any pc. I have tried 4 different ones. It just gives me the error message "usb device not recognized". I have the custom rom from overcome(the latest one) installed. I put the tab in download mode and the same issue remains. I turned on/off usb debugging and it still doesnt work. I even tried the *#7284#. That did not help either. Please help.
Hi..firstly, welcome to XDA Samsung Tablet Forum. I see you already register since Nov 10 but your post so far is only 2 post. So I'm consider you are still newbie (same like me
Anyway, back to your question.
Have you go to samsung webpage and download the kies?
http://www.samsung.com/my/support/d...WDXME&prd_mdl_name=GT-P1000&srchword=GT-P1000
Do that first, after install it, go to >>Tools>>Install driver. Click it.
make sure your tab is connected to your PC via USB.
After you click the install driver, kies will download the driver for you and it will automatically detect your USB tab.
please try.

Sounds like a fault with windows. Try running updates or use a registry cleaner/fixer see if that helps.
CCleaner has one.
[EDIT] Ah I misread, looks like you have tried other systems with same issue. Not sure then.
I'm assuming you're not using the same cable with all of them, otherwise you'd want to try a different cable. If you've tried the different cables between the different devices and still the same issue, you might roll one of them back to stock and see if that fixes the issue or not. It's possible you have bad usb ports, but more than likely it's a software issue on the tab.

How about the usb cable? Possibility is high due to cable itself. Since you using the same cable with all PC. You should try to change it.

Bad cable or bad tab. Borrow a cable to eliminate that.
Not sure, When i was reading instruction for how to update with overcome rom it said that if Odin doesnt recognise the tab try a different USB port.

And same as mgregor, don't use front panel to connect USB.
Used drivers must be obsolete. Use 3.2.1 or 3.5 and be sure android platform modem is activated to be recognized by b2c
Try LG United Mobile Driver, there is a link on knzo's CWM recovery thread. And yes try a direct port on motherboard behind your cpu case.
Also try another usb cable.

if you cannot open the mobile, you can go to a mobile technician and tell him to resolder the usb port of your LG optimus....

Be sure platform modem is activated in peripherals manager. This is what makes the phone being recognized by pc suite and b2c

Hi guys,
I finally managed to connect my phone to my pc. The problem was about the cables that I tried. Another original lg cable solved my problem.
But now I have an other problem. The brightness of my screen. It is usually at the minimum brightness and I can't change it. It does not change anything when I change the brightness settings. I tried other firmwares from http://luivit.altervista.org/firmwareP970/index.php but did not work still the same!
Help please...
