I needed a backup phone and didn't have much of a budget also thought I could get something decent . Having used the i9000 prior I thought that would be ideal.
So I bought this I9000 that was stuck on the samsung logo from the bootloader.
Fired up Odin used the jig got it into download mode flashed the phone.I used Odin 1.85.it showed green pass and reset.the phone seemed like it was gonna reboot but went dead and now I.have no display trying the jig.charger USB connection nothing gets it to react. I checked with an alternate battery as well. No luck. Any ideas what could have happened and how could I revive this?
i have the same issue!
You sure that it's a I 9000? Not I've of the variants?
Knowledge is Power. Guard it well.
It was the i9000m but I flashed the KG3 Odin official firmware and the rest is history
Suggestions anyone?

Are you able to atleast get in to the download mode?

Maybe lagfix was enabled prior to flash... That would cause a problem I believe.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
even if it did, wudntve killed the phone , i shudve still been able to goto dld mode. and odin over rules everything, doesnt matter if lagfix was on or not.

After rooting my phone and after using it fire about a week something weird happened to my phone, on Sunday the phone restart it itself and when it booted up the phone was stock on the Samsung screen after the metro pcs boot animation. I took out the battery several times but to no avail. It was dead. I finally took it to metro yesterday and they have me a brand new one. I'm more sure if i will root it again though.

Setting phones on fire usually kills them.
Did you try CPR on it? Check if it still has a heart beat.

Overcome may brick a cdma device. You should read before flashing.
Or ask if unsure.

This isnt my phone but me and my friend successfully rooted his galaxy mini but when we flashed CWM we must have used the wrong one from the app and bricked the device or something as the device wont turn on. Is this bricked and if it is how can we unbrick it.
Thanks
If you can go into the download mode just flash stock rom through odin

Thanks guys, will the phone still flash even if the phone doesnt tirn on? I will try flashing with odin this weekend but if it doesnt work do you think samsung could fix it?

To find out if it's a "soft brick" or "hard brick" try going to "Download Mode" on the Mini. Do this by turning off the phone simultaneously pressing the Volume Down + Power + Home. When prompted, press Volume Up to confirm.
If there is a Download Mode, the phone just got a "soft brick" which means you can fix it on your own. If there is no Download mode, you're pretty much screwed.
IF there is a Download Mode, then it means you can still flash a ROM/firmware via ODIN. But I suggest flashing the right CF root kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Mini first. That will probably fix the phone's failure to boot. If it doesn't reboot properly after rooting, then I would suggest you flash a new ROM/firmware instead.

Oh, if there is a Download Mode just as I explained above, you can still flash any ROM or kernel via ODIN. Cheers!

If it seems like you can't get into download mode, there is a trick (it worked for me, when I thought my phone was hard-bricked, but obviously TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Get a friend to help - it's almost impossible to do this by yourself (unless you were born with three hands) :silly:
Take out the battery, sim-card and SD-card
While holding down all three buttons for download mode (Volume Down + Power + Home), get your friend to insert the battery.
Keep holding down all three buttons until you see download mode (can take up to a couple of minutes).
If it doesn't work at first, keep trying - it took me about three of four tries before that lovely sign came up
Good luck.
PS: sorry I really can't remember where I got this from, so can't give due credit. If I'm plagiarising anyone, please let me know and I'll fix it.
Hi everyone. My Galaxy N7000 had suddenly surned off after I flashed it. It is not turning on, and is not detectable in Odin. I cannot go in Download mode or somewhere else. Nothing is working. Battery is fully charged. I tried another one and the results are same. The phone turned off suddenly, after that I turned on it again and it was freezed. So I put off a battery and put it again, than I tried to turn the phone again nothing has happened. JIG and other staff are not working. I live in Georgia (Europe) and here is not official Samsung service center so please help me and give me advice.

He may still be able to "blindly" go into download mode + the more information about how people brick their Notes, the better.

yes. I flashed cwm.zip What can I do now? I downloaded google chrome and was using it when the device has stopped working and freezed. Is there any hope to fix it? AND if it can't be fixed. Just tell me internet shop where I can find new motherboard for it. It's N7000......
The internet shop you are looking for doesn't exist - Samsung Repair Center (or whatever name it has) can replace it.
But first you should verify that your brick is true. Using CWM.zip is deadly but your other statements aren't so clear.
1. So maybe you try to install a GB or ICS stock Rom with Odin on your PC. If the installation stops in Odin at "factoryfs.img" you are bricked.
2a. Then you can try the workaround with repartition (excluding the damaged sectors) from hg42.
2b. Or replace the motherboard
and where can I find a new mother board? The device is not dettectable in Odin. ANd why is cwm deadly?
AW: [Q] Please help me. Samsung Galaxy N7000
Samsung only has the boards. They'll replace it for you.
Not CWM is the problem but the cwm.zip you used - but I think that isn't confirmed until now by your statements. Try Odin and stock rom first please. Thanks

You tried a different battery: nothing
You can't start in download mode or recovery mode (are you sure you pressed the correct buttons long enough?).
If so you have a cold stone now. Only a Samsung Center somewhere can help you.
One more try. Pull battery out for a couple of minutes. Reinsert. Immediately press volume down + power + home for 15 -20 seconds. Press volume up. Open PC Odin (make sure appropriate drivers are installed first). Connect to PC with USB cable. See if "COM" box turns yellow. Report back...

Or light blue in case using a newer version of Odin
Note to self. Put phone away when tired.
Long story short, clicked the wrong link, disengaged brain and flashed a ROM for i9100 through PC Odin (complete PDA and PIT so should have been repartitioned).
Reboot and blank screen. But I can still hear the music when it boots and recovery must still be accessible as if I vol down+home+power I can get it to be recognised in Odin still. I just can't see anything.
As Odin sees it, I have tried installing philz's kernel, the 16gb pit file and stock ROM but still black screen. The ROM flash clearly worked as music has changed.
Not impressed with myself. Any clues what might be going on? Unless it's hardware wrt the screen I am hoping it's savable.
Thanks in advance.
Search for removing yellow triangle with old fashion on ics where you had to flash i9100 kernel to get it working, on this you had black screen as they aren't compatible i9100 and n7000 screens. I don't remember exactly what you had to do so I suggest you to search for it. It tells you how to enter dl mode blind and then flashing via odin a working rom.
Good luck

Thanks. Do you mean this thread? Have ordered a jig to follow those instructions.
All very odd - can't get any response from the Note after leaving it overnight - stuck a multimeter across the terminals of the battery and zero despite it being left plugged in all night.
Not good...
Yes this one but I think you could start from point 8 not 7 so jig isn't required. Remove battery and hope it has charge on it to flash it without a issue. Dunno if the flash with odin needs battery charged since the cable is applied on phone. So carefull.
Again hope it works
