Dafuq are intruding in my topic?!

if you are saying you want to downgrade to GB from ICS, then you should probably
1. download and flash abyss kernel v4.2 thru CWM
2. reboot into recovery
3. flash GB ROM
4. reboot

Mobile Odin should be a safe way back from imilka....
provided you are 100% certain your Note is fully rooted.
Try to paste a file (any file) into /system folder using any explorer with root permissions. If you succeed, you have root.
If not, stay well away from Mobile Odin or any type of CWMR retreat.
Use PC Odin.

Partial root is bad news. Do not use either Mobile Odin or CWMR.
Use PC Odin.

Hello, I need to go back from LP1 ICS (imilka) to stock rom, which is the easiest way to do that?
I do not have a Windows PC and no PC Odin for that reason, could I flash one of the stock roms with Mobile Odin?
Many thanks

Hi, as far as I can tell the procedure goes like this. You flash AbyssNote http://www.mediafire.com/?o2yi462tby2lzan
Then you restart recovery. Now full wipe and then you can flash stock rom or restore your nandroid backup. I hope this helps.
You can watch this just to be sure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr3DDEh8vyc&hd=1

Yes you can use mobile odin / cwm to flash stock rom.
I recommend wipe cache n data before n after switching custom to stock n wise versa.

hello,
yes flashing abyss with mobile odin worked fine, had to extract the zImage from the zip file first
will install rom now via recovery when download is finished, thx guys
Just mobile odin is enough
1.extract rom(stock) file to tar.md5 n place on sd card
2.open mobile odin, select open file n point to rom file.
3. enable ever root option if you want to keep root intact
4flash
Done
You need nothing to do with abyss kernel
Still u ned any clearance, download guide from last link on my signature, extract it. You will find a file 'update rom using mobile odin' in new folder.

Update to ICS from Rooted GB,which is the best: Mobile Odin or PC Odin?

I want to upgrade/update from stock GB rooted. Which one to use? I have paid mobile odin and also access to pc odin. Which one is guaranteed not to have binary count and/or Yellow triangle?

If you're going to Stock ICS then use PC Odin, It will not increase the Binary counter - either way you will lose root but follow Dr. K's method to root once on ICS.
I believe the Yellow triangle will only trigger if flashing a non-stock (Custom) Kernel via PC Odin. I use Mobile ODIN for kernel flashing.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just watched Cursed4eva youtube video using Mobile Odin to flash German ICS stock on rooted gb. I think that was also ok. but he did mention if binary count is triggered. It also has everroot enabled. Seems ok ?
If you want to flash just stock ROM, you can use either.
Stock ROM won't raise counter in anyway.
But i do recommend is go with PC Odin. as well clean.
You are already rooted so make backup with titanium
Hard reset (wipe cache and data from recovery) on existing GB ROM
-Flash ICS using PC Odin
-Root it, and restore appl using TB (avoid restoring sys junk, just only restore user app)
And yes above menton method won't increae flash counter.
Use first link on my signature to get ICS ROM + installation N rooting instruction

Successfully updated to DXLR2. Now another question- How do I install a custom kernel like Speedmod without triggering the binary counter?
Follow Dr.ketan's Rooting guide for ICS and install a custom kernel through CWM recovery or using mobile ODIN. :good:

I usually flash kernels with Mobile Odin or CWM.. I don't like to flash custom kernels with PC Odin as the Binary counter increases. Yes, I know that you can use Triangle Away.. But this for me should be a last resort when there are other methods available..
I rooted via Dr. K's method and flashed the latest Speedmod Kernel via Mobile Odin - I am running Stock 4.0.3 with SpeedMod K3-11. NO Binary count increase and no need for Triangle Away...
I think there's a few people getting to used to using TA to take short cuts to do things....It is itself, not without risk...

I've searched for hours about this and you might have just answered my lingering question. I am on stock rooted 4.0.3, and have been looking to flash a custom kernel, while avoiding pc odin, and binary count. Just wasn't sure if mobile odin was safe or not to flash kernel, while running stock kernel.

Mobile Odin is safe to flash a custom kernel.
Download the kernel you want to flash to your SD card (internal or external).
Run Mobile Odin, grant access through Superuser and go to the kernel section inside Mobile Odin pro and look for the kernel that you earlier saved from the download.
After that, just tap on flash firmware (inside Mobile Odin still) and that would restart your phone and once booted, you now have a new kernel.

Rooting Note on ICS ROM PROBLEM

Hi,
I am new to Android Phones. I tried to root my Galaxy Note using the above method
2. Long, No raised couter OR Exclamation mark
-Downgrade to Rootable GB ROM and Root it. OR Download This pre rooted GB ROM and flash using PC Odin
-Wipe cache, data and delvic cache from recovery
-Install Mobile Odin Pro
-Copy ICS ROM file in .tar (you want to flash) to Internal SD card (recommended, but you can have it on EXT too)
-Download Odin (.tar) version of custom kernel like Notecore, Speedmod, CF root kernel Or other any with same function. If newbies have confusion to select, here is one for example Notecore V12 std kernel. You can use this. But newer version can be found on link mentioned above.
-Open Mobile Odin Pro
-select open file
but i run mobile odin without downloading the odin version of custom kernel (I got confused, I thought I needed to do thisafter running mobile odin) and now my phone is stuck in flashing mode for about 45mins switching on and off.
What should I do?
Thank you in advance for your help...
Christina
Flash Pre rooted ROm again Wipe cache and data and repeat procedure, that will be safe.
It worked! Thank you!
Just a quick question...
I followed all the steps mentioned on the thread up to installing mobile odin and copying the ics rom....
but I am confused with the odin version of custom kernel...I am trying to find the correct cf-root kernel through the link you provided but I can not find the KJ1. I downloaded the one you have attached below mobile odin screenshots. Is that ok?
And also where do I copy the kernel? Internal or external sd? Should it be in a specific directory in order to be detected by mobile odin?
Sorry for all these questions but I looked around and there is no specific instructions anywhere about this part.
Thank you...
Which rom you want to flash?

Since I am new to the android platform phones, I think it will be better if i explained what my objective is so I won't confuse you too....
I want to be able to install and use rooted applications like titanium back up. I read that in order to do this I have to root my phone.
So what I want to do now is to root my phone in order to use ie titanium black without upping my flash counter.
Also I do not care to have a custom ICS, I prefer the stock one for now until I become more familiar with all these.
I followed the steps but the customn kernel things has confused me.
My phone is as mentioned before a galaxy note with ICS 4.04 before I started the procedure, now I have Gingerbread 2.35.
What should I do?
Thank you

Go to this thread and just flash the kernel using PC Odin.(First way)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
You will have CWM and rooted device. After that you can use Titanium Backup and all other applications which required root
Sahil hez on gb rooted.rom. So no need to flash custom kernel with pc odin. i think mobile odin will b best for him.
@op
Go to first link on my signature, download any ics rom you want
Download notecore kernel std tar version
Copy both.to sd card
Now look to rom switch over from my signature and find how to use mobile odin

Thank you for the quick reply!!!
Just to be sure, when you say first method you mean the one below
1. Short, easy - requires to reset counter
-Download Odin (.tar) version of custom kernel like Notecore, Speedmod, CF root kernel Or other any with same function. If newbies have confusion to select, here is one for example Notecore V12 std kernel. You can use this. But newer version can be found on link mentioned above.
-Flash it using PC odin for PDA tab.
-You will get exclamation mark and raised counter, which can be reset with Triangle Away
-First time opening triangle away application, it will ask to download file(flasher), let it complete. then choose to reset counter, it will restart in special recovery an finish job.\
If yes, then this brings us back - almost - to my original question....how do i use the custom kernel (cf or notecore) with odin? I know it uzips to a zimage etc but how do I use it which odin? Also which cf kernel -if iuse this one- is correct for my phone? Is there a link you can provide that explains all these?
Thank you!

Hello everyone.
I am new to xda. Verry happy to found you all.
Sorry for device, is not i9000 (is i9001), can't find Q&A on i9001
The story: i tried to root my i9001, because my 2.3.6 lags and freeze (all go personalization)
I installed ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.3 but home button is navigating up, and phone is restarting in recovery mode, can't do anything.
I tried woth Odin, AriesVE.ops + Boot_loader.tar, but Odin Multi Downloader v4.43 doesen't recognize my phone (desinstaled kies, reinstaled samsung drivers 3 times, restarted pc).
Now i can't do anything in recovery menu, and only odin that recognize phone is Odin3 v1.85, not any tar place.. only a pit place, i loaded "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4" that comes with odin. Than I load boot_loader, go start and is stuck at SetupConnection until phone restarting.
If anyone can help me with my problem i would be very grateful
ok, new drivers solved the problem, odin recognize phone now, hope i will root it
Odin is a bit dangerous you *risk* bricking your phone, not likely but still, I like to play it safe. Always.
The safest way to root the phone is probably checking the wiki [link] or SuperOneClick [link]
As for the I9001 and the I9000 mixed: link post 7 and 8
You dont need odin to root. Even with stockrom and recovery you can root. If you want to root it see my tut about flashing back to stock and then post 2. Futhermore, odin is not as risky as KIES..

Hi,
to root your I9001 you just to put this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=713519&d=1315472889 to your internal SD-card. Then you can use even use the stock recovery (CWM Recovery of cours too) to root your phone.
HiHiMan

[Q] How to install CWM on stock 2.3.3 (not rooted) ?

Hi All,
I got a SGS for my wife and it has stock provider's 2.3.3 ROM.
I want to preserve it, so I need to install CWM somehow (without root), do a clean NANDROID backup, then flash in CWM the "GamerzROM Legend Edition v2.0" without rooting the phone first.
I'm guessing this new rom comes with ROOT so no need for flash rooted kernels via ODIN ...
How can this be achieved ?
You must root first
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
in order to root i need to upgrade to 2.3.6 first, right ?
No
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
Hi,
I don't know how to instal CWM without root! but you can flash semaphore kernel with Odin and you have root and CWM.
Download the tar file containing the kernel from here
Start Odin application
Select the tar file as PDA (do NOT select Re-Partition)
Put the phone in download mode
Connect your phone through USB to your PC and wait for the ID:COM to become yellow
Press start button
I hope it helps!:good:
