Hello! New member here so please excuse me if I'm posting to the wrong forum or anything like that.
Not to take long of your time, I can't get my phone to boot. It shows the 2 LG logos and won't proceed beyond that. So I need to know if there's a way to flash a ROM and a Recovery with it like that.
Thanks for the help.

Can you access CWM? Try to pull out the battery, put it in, press power button + volume down at the same time. Wait til the LG logo appears and release it.

I guess you need to flash the stock ROM by using SmartFlashTool. Its easy to use. There's a thread that has simple instructions.

Really?! That's great to know.
Recovery is v5.0.2.7
ETA: I flashed the ROM I had on before all that mess started and now my phone is working again. I'm not sure if things went awry because AOKP's last build was screwed or because I removed the SDcard before flashing in an attempt to force the phone to use the 5GB of internal memory that has been sitting useless since I got the device.
can't I flash the last owaine version I used?

It is.
I wiped every thing before flashing the ROM and I have a complete copy of all the files I had on the SDcard saved on my PC. As soon as it finishes charging I'll move the TB files back to the SDcard and see if I can restore my apps. Unfortunately, I have to redo my system settings by hand. But I don't really mind.
Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.

Your welcome. Glad I helped.
Okay, so it would appear that the kernel I am currently running (you can view it here) is affected by whatever bug it is that stock ICS kernels suffer with. But, what exactly is this problem and how does it effect me? So far, I've had no problems with ICS so what is the matter with it? What do I need to do?

The stock ICS kernel has a code in it called MMC_Cap_Erase. It is bad with a faulty firmware (most Notes have 0x19, you can tell by downloading Chainfire's app called GotBrickBug). Do NOT wipe data/factory reset.
Also, you can flash franco or speedmod kernels if you are running stock ICS and be perfectly fine. But, I wouldn't do it in PC Odin like someone suggested. You can flash either kernel in CWM, just do not wipe. You don't have to wipe anything.
After you flash it, reboot the phone, go to settings and then About Phone and make sure the "Kernel" is Franco or speedmod, whichever you go with. After that, you can wipe data safely.

What do you mean wipe data safely? Like removing apps or just factory resetting the phone? Is this risk also a guaranteed, as flashing firmware seems pretty risky to me also.

You wipe data if you switch ROMs. Like if you went from stock ICS to CM9, you would wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. You need to do more reading before you start doing this kind of stuff though. I don't want to see you brick your phone.
I never said anything about flashing firmwares. You can't do that. There's no guarantee you will brick your phone if you wipe on stock ICS kernel. But, I wouldn't suggest trying it.

If you mess with big files or delete a lot of files at once, it COULD but there's no guarantees. I would seriously look at Speedmod or Franco kernels and flash one of them in CWM just to be safe.
Edit:
I never asked, but are you rooted?

Stay where you are then. It probably would be covered if you bricked and not rooted. Don't do a wipe/factory reset in recovery OR settings/factory reset.

You SHOULD be okay. I can not say 100% sure though.
We don't know. There supposedly is a fix (from Google), but they have to have permission to release it from Samsung. Read the threads about it in the General section. Entropy is one of the guys working on fixes and working with Samsung.

No guarantees. More than likely the "fix" would be passed to Samsung for them to release IF they do. There are plenty of "safe" kernels now that have disabled the code to keep you from bricking (Franco, Speedmod, CM9 to name a few). So if you are that worried, read about them and choose something. But, don't choose CM9 kernel unless you are on a cm9 rom, obviously.
Please, your best thing is to READ, READ, READ.

Thanks, so finally what does changing kernels involve? Changing ROMs requires flashing, which I don't want to do. But how difficult is changing kernels and would it cause data lose of contacts and stuff?
Hello XDA!
I managed to brick my Note, so I'd like to sent it to the repair under warranty.
But my problem is, I'm currently on a stock ROM (I've flashed it with patched PIT) and I don't know how I should show to the repair centre that my partition is damaged and what to tell. Also my note has currently 3 flash counters.
I thought about the CF-Root Kernel -> TriangleAway.apk -> Flash a ROM with Mobile ODIN (Think doesnt increase the counter), but when I do it like this, my phone is still re-partionated with the patched PIT, so I have to remove this patched PIT, but when I remove it with ODIN and try to re-partion with stock PIT it would increase the counter? (And wouldn't be able to flash smth else because my note is bricked...)
At the moment I've no perspective how I can manage that. Has someone tip or knows how I could do that?
Thanks!!

Yes theres no other way.
You can buy it in ebay. Its better to buy the jig than to pay the repair, because they will surely see the binary count and void your warranty and also tell them you hardbrick your note by factory reset your phone.

Hmm, isn't it working through CWM? Can't one enter CWM when bricked?
The funny part is that my note is actually working with custom pit, but I have to show to the repair centre that they wont be able to flash a normal ROM, so I have to reset my counter first (this is possible with custom pit and stock rom & triangle_away.apk), but then I have to flash again the normal pit, thats the point. To flash again original pit increases the counter, or I am wrong?

IF u can re-partion with stock pit i guess u can flash stock rom too.
just tell me how exactly did u brick your note
So ive the same problem.. Updated OTA to ics, made a factory reset -> Damaged partition. So i used the patched PIT to get it working again. All working fine now, except that there are much more lags than before.
So i want to send it back to samsung to get it repaired / changed. What can i do now? I think samsung will check the phone and they will notice that it was flashed with patched pit. Is it possible to get it back to stock (with stock pit) to send it back?

Not 100% on this. Don't think repetition ingredients to stock would work as it would fail, but this might actually be a good root to go down. There's a chance the partition would be damaged enough to pose a re- superbrick. Alternatively, install stock ics and go for another superbrick.

First make sure your battery is not completely empty. Try to charge with external charger or manage for other battery

What do you think it is related with brick? Is it your fault of kernel or ROM fault. It is really annoying situation... Im sorry for your loss man...
Im not really an expert on android, but i would consider myself an advanced user so correct me if im wrong....
Couldnt it be, that the boot.img from the rom got corrupted somehow and thats the reason why it hanged while flashing it? Coz as of how i understood what the boot.img is used for, it would explain why u cant boot in recovery/dl-mode. Simply coz there is no bootloader on ur phone. Just an idea...

First off before you start quoting other threads in other fourms, take a minute to get your facts in order.. Miui for the note has not been released to the public as of this date because it has the possibility to brick you device as it has the unsafe Samsung kernel (yes the same kernel as your stock note ), so if your running Miui on your note than your running a leaked version (then in that case you should know the risk involved) that is either running the stock kernel or it has one of the hydracore versions as it is the only option miui has at the moment unless your on one of the cm versions. So not defending either the rom/kernel he was trying to flash or what he was coming from as he really doesn't state either .. it would help if he provided such information. Sorry to the owner but before you get your device JTAGGED you may want to check with a samasung service center because the JTAGGED will void your warranty..

No ,CWM will not erase or even touch the bootloaders ,only PC ODIN can do that ,boot.img refers to the kernel ,I've had a corrupted boot.img flash once ,easily solved via PC ODIN ,the phone would start up and show the logo but nothing more if that happens .I doubt that's the case here but you could try a blind flash in PC odin and see if that works .

Could it be,
that,,,, i forgot to reboot after flashing the Hydrakernel... and eMMC bricked the bootloader perhaps? since the bootloader is stored on the chip as well?

Tapatalking on my n7000
Samsung has a good after sales service, If your warranty is not over I think you have good chance to get it replaced with a new one.. try contact directly samsung support through their web site...
Obviously you don't have to say that you have bricked your phone trying to flash a custom rom...

You said you tried to install XXLA4_CheckromRevo_NoteHD_V5.
was this successful using CWM?, if yes then after the installation, did you do a factory wipe?
