[APP]ReaditToMe - Nexus S Themes and Apps

What Is ReadItToMe Like alot of us I use my phone for music alot and I wanted to be able to hear who was texting me or calling without having to pull out my phone. There are a few apps which do this however I found them to be too bloated and I wanted to be able to have it run automatically when I needed it. Thats why I wrote ReadItToMe.
ReadItToMe reads out your incoming sms messages and incoming callers. It can be set to do this automatically when you connect to a bluetooth device or you plug in your headphones, as well as over the speakerphone.
Translates Txt Speak ReadItToMe will also translate your text messages into proper english so you can understand whats being read.
With ReadItToMe This: SMS from John saying: "btw dat woz amazin, I dunno y I wasn't gonna go lol" Becomes This: "New message received from John. By the way that was amazing, I don't know why I wasn't going to go laugh out loud' As well as that you can add your own words and translations easily through the UI.
This is the feature list so far: - Read incoming sms - Read incoming caller name - Always read - Read only when bluetooth is connected - Read only when headphones are connected - Translate text speak before reading ie lol is translated to laugh out loud - You can define your own translations of specific words - Starts on boot - Reads sms over music (music volume is turned down and then back up afterwards) - Icon in notification bar to show when it is running - Read incoming caller - Supports multiple languages as long as you have the TTS data for that language installed (I personally recommend IVONA over Pico TTS)
Note - It uses the notification stream to read messages and calls by default, so if your phone is on silent you will hear nothing. However if you check the use music stream option it will use the music stream, in which case it will play at the media volume, so if your on silent you can still hear notifications. - Anyone experiencing the issue where it reads on both speaker and headphones/bluetooth simultaneously use the music stream option.
oops! accidentally beamed from my awesome NEXUS S!

voice alerts?

i was wondering if anyone knew any good TTS services to make some notification sounds? not sure if there is an app that does it but i like to hear the phone say what i am getting vs a random sound clip (music/sound effects) and just use a mp3/wav/ogg of the item to play. say "MESSAGE" for incomming messages, "GMAIL" for incoming gmail. just examples. some i found online sound like total robots. i know there is apps but ive never tried any so im wondering if anyone knows how i can basically generate my own. a total bonus would be to make it sound like the original DROID robot sound effect for more things like gmail, messages, talk, voice,etc...

[Q] Cog2.4.1 TTS while on call

I am having a strange issue. When I get a SMS/Text while on a call the system plays the whole text out using text-to-speech, making it impossible to hear the person I am on the phone with. This doesn't happen when I am not on the phone.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
edit: looks like something is forcing the "driving" mode (I think). when I change the speech engine, the voice changes...

[Q] No keyboard during incoming call

Hi!
Just notices this very annoying and strange behavior of my XZ (Vodafone Stockrom 4.2/.67)
When I receive a call I cannot use the keyboard anymore. As a matter of fact, the keyboard does not pop up when I open e.g. the notes-app or any app waiting for text-entry. The cursor is there and blinking but the keyboard does not show up, no matter which app (notes, quickoffice, kingoffice, sms, even google play store the search field.) I cannot take notes during the call or change any contact/calendar details. Really annoying.
Does anyone ever experienced the same?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Don't get SMS notifications on AA on my GMC with intellilink

I am having problems on my GMC to get SMS messages on my AA. When I set it up I chose to include everything except the Phone permission. I chose to use contacts, sms, maps, mic. I have no problem receiving the notification card and listening to the playback on a Hangouts message. But when I receive a text it only shows up on my phone and I get nothing on the Android Auto screen in the truck. Its like I never received a message, so then I have to read it on my phone. I have no problem with using voice commands to send Hangouts and SMS messages, just no notification on the SMS.
The reason I didn't include my phone permission was because I like the way the Intellink works on the truck and so when an incoming call would come in and Android Auto had access I would have to go through it to answer making my steering wheel control useless. So I changed the settings but only removed the phone and now I can use the phone through the truck Intellink but am not getting the SMS notifications through Android Auto.
Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

How-To Make Google Home Announce Incoming Calls and Auto-Read New Text Messages

**Updated 5/27/2017**
After installing these profiles GH will announce incoming calls and read incoming text messages including the name of the caller/sender or ph#.
Auto-Read Incoming Text Messages Demo
1. Download and install Tasker and download and sign up for AutoCast BETA (you will need the full paid version). Also download Announce_Incoming_Calls.prf.xml and Auto_Read_Message.prf.xml
2. Once you have received the AutoCast BETA update via the Play Store, open the app, select "Manage Cast Devices," press +, then select your Google Home.
3. Place the xml files from Step 1 into the Tasker/profiles folder (if these folders does not exist then create them). Open Tasker, long-press "Profiles," select "Import," then import the xml files.
4. Back-out of Tasker to save the profiles. Done!
Google Home will now automatically announce incoming calls and auto-read incoming text messages using your phone's preferred TTS engine (you can disable by setting your phone to silent). Enjoy!
**Important**
- GH must be connected to the same wifi network as your phone.
- Turn off battery optimization for Tasker and AutoCast or your device may disable these apps when idle.

Glad it worked!
Is there a way to make the "Announce Incoming Calls" program answer the call as well? I know Google Home currently has the ability to initiate an outgoing call. Thanks.
Please please help

Whenever im using any of the AUTO plugins, it always just starts playing the same random song. Whyyyy?
I have set everything up as directed and there does not appear to be any errors. I am getting all of the IFTTT and pushover notifications on my phone. But no message actually sends.
