Hello,
I got my phone the Samsung galaxy s (I9003) now for almost a year and since a week now, it’s been automatically resetting itself when I go to bed in the evening and I leave it on for my morning alarm. What happens is that even if it is completely full on battery when I go the bed, in the morning the battery is completely empty and when I turn it on, I have to reconfigure all my phone settings.
Does anyone maby know a solution to this problem?
thx

Hi guys,
yesterday my galaxy s running darky's rom 9.5 shut down for no reason and when I attempted to turn it back on I got the thinking icon then an empty battery graphic then black screen. So I plugged it in to the charger and after about 10 seconds I had the full battery graphic (my battery should have been full.) So I then take it off charge and turn it on, now it will boot and run for about 5 minutes then turn off again. Dead battery I hear you say? To test that theory I put my battery into my friends galaxy s, it works fine, fully charged with no issue. His battery works fine in my phone. Both work for about an hour. Then I swap back. Battery works in my phone this time for around 20 minutes, then same problem as before.
So after this massive story is my battery just stuffed and doesn't want to work with my phone anymore or do I have another issue??
P.s during this whole process I have reset battery stats and done a factory reset all with no result.
Thanks in advance

Sometimes bad contacts in your phone.
And sometimes motherboard problem...
I hope it's the first one!
First check would be the rom /Flash base Froyo with pit 512 and repartition checked should wipe a bad rom .
jje
ok so just a bit of an update, tested some brand new batteries and none worked.
will try updating the .pit file.
also phone will not go into recovery mode when not plugged in but will go into download mode using 3 button method.
Its not an update of the pit file .Stock rom and wipe of battery stats and two weeks use will show batery bad or not .
The rom you have has multiple bad battery posts .
You could always ask Darky for a fix .
jje
Currently have a stock rom running and so far so good.
Hope it works.

having same problem. running liquid smooth rom on tmobile. I was using gps and phone just shut off. Now when I try and turn it on, galaxy s4 comes up then shuts off. I plugged it in to turn it on and now were bootlooping..
Cant get into recovery either :crying:
OK, finally got into recovery mode. erased erased erased. restored, and everything seems to be running smooth so far. I just wonder what the issue was with my phone not coming on. I tried the card trick. Didn't help, so I am guessing the battery connections were fine. Hopefully isnt a motherboard issue..
I haven't had any issues with the rom either at all it works great with my phone and is super smooth, but I don't think the rom would have anything to do with getting into recovery when powered off.
2011... nice lol. Wrong thread! Just trying to search for answers
Anyone experiance it? As i read on gsmarena comment, many experiance it...did anyone manage to solve the issue?

If you would specify what ROM you are using, it might be a bit more specific.

Can anyone suggest a stable stock rom?

I have been using XXKPU for a while, it was quite stable but is now very old. At the moment, using XXKQ7 for some time. Also quite ok. Maybe your hardware is faulty.
I never had this kind of problem . i'm using kqe custom rom and i have no problems.
[9001] Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001 random turn off
I have same problem with my i9001. I bought it in march, and it started to turn off randomly in june.
I used 3 different stock ROMs and CM9, and had this problem in everyone of them. I took phone to service, but they didn't find out what was problem (they told me that it is probably faulty internal memory, but new memory and repair for 45e wasn't acceptable for me)
This turn off happens to me usualy when phone is locked and idle. One time it happened on CM9 startup, and only one time phone was active (I was just browsing apps) when it turned off.
When it turns off sometimes it wont turn on for hours. It very rarely helps to take out battery and wait for 10 or more seconds and then put it back.
I noticed few times when it turnes on that on startup screen instead of SAMSUNG (first screen) it shows battery picture as it is when recharging even if phone is not connected to computer/charger.
I also noticed that reported battery is somehow strange. For example one time I recharged phone to 100%, and somewhere about 85% it turned off. I left im over the night, and in morning I turned it on and battery was on 6%. Same happened again with 55% going to 6% in just a few hours.
I found a way to turn it on, but this way is totaly strange and stupid. I take out battery, connect phone to computer with USB cable (as usual for data transfer and recharging), and then place battery. For now, I managed to turn it on this way most of times (which would be about 10%, 10% everything else, and 80% fail to turn on )
I have no idea what causes this but it probably isn't OS, kernel, apps, root/unroot and rest of possible software reasons.
Does anybody know what is actualy the problem with i9001 turning off randomly? And how to fix it?
Sorry for my bad English (I actually dont care )
edit: I tried following ROMs (all could be found on http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001
I9001XXKQ6 XXKPK
I9001XXKQB XXKPL
I9001XXKQE XXKPL

I have the exact same problem, once or twice a day the phone just switches off.
I use Broodrom RC5 currently.
Sometimes I see random green pixels across the screen before it turns off as well.
Hello guys. I'm having some problems with the processes that comes on my Note. Last night i've charged my phone and before i went to bed it was 100%, i've unplugged it and use it for 15mins and battery dropped to 97%. Then i closed recent apps, lock it and went to bed (about 2:30am). This morning when i woke up (about 11:00 am) i looked at the phone and it was 88%. Some processes have an important wakelock time and don't know anything about them. I will post few screenshots here so someone more experienced than me with android can tell me what to do.
This is not happening everytime when i unplug my phone from charger. For example a night before i went to sleep with 42% and when i woke up it was still at 42%.
I only have an Android device for about 2 weeks, before that i was an iOS user that decided to change something. So i don't know many things about Android. Thank you for forum and the support ur offering to us.
I think you dont have any problem

I don't see any problem in your screenshots either.
However, since your are on ICS 4.0.3 think about taking your phone
to the homescreen before plugging or unplugging the charger, to avoid
a wakelock problem. Or upgrade to 4.0.4
Yup looks fine to me

Hi guys I'd rooted my note to RocketRom v3 last week.
Yesterday my phone battery left 9% so i charged it till 100% until the icon appears, so i unplug it and start using it.
The battery status showed 89%, before I went to sleep with alarm set.
The next morning I was overslept as the phone suddenly shutdown automatically and the alarm clock didnt ring. After long pressing the power button, it still don't boot up. So I took out the battery and put it back, switch it on. Left 33%!!!!!! I am not sure what is exactly the problem, had uninstall all battery monitor apps or battery saver apps.
Can anyone please help me because today it auto shutdown again. IT frustrating and anyone could help really would be very grateful!
Do a clean install again
Thanks for replying =D
Just a little issue here, before rooting, this problem also occured when im on stock rom and stock kernel 4.0.4 ICS, already replaced the battery once with a totally new battery. Rooted the phone cause i though it would help, but it turns out the problem still exist. =( (but the developer of the rom surely did a very very good job cause im in love with RRv3 and my phone :fingers-crossed
Just so anyone who can tell what's the problem pls I'm so desperate because my phone can suddenly shutdown from battery lvl 44% and boot up with 0% (need to charge for awhile only can be booted up).
Two days ago I bought new phone. In an hour I found out that it switched off by itself. I turned it on, but after 1-2 hours it switched off again and so on. Through KIES phone was flashed to version 4.1.2 It stoped switched off, but began to reboot every 3-4 hours! So i changed this phone for the new device. Right there I flash through KIES version 4.1.2 and everything there was perfectly whole day, evening i put an alarm clock and went to bed, and in the morning phone was switched off! After turning on it showed 20% of battery. Somebody has ideas how to understand that happens and what i need to do? Wait and watch? Try to flash new ROM with Odin? Try to back my money? Maybe there is any ways to figure out such as log file or something like what?
