Mobile odin does not change bootloader? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As far as I read about the brick bootloader on the forum if I flashed the official LPY from GB using Mobile Odin means I am still on GB BOOTLOADER even though I flashed the ICS CF-Kernel version?

Which Bootloader froyo or gingerbread

Hello all,
I am running now MIUI 1.9.2 Android version 2.3.5.
i want to install a custom kernel but forgot which bootloader i started from..
Froyo or Gingerbread? How can we know?
OR how can we get a gingerbread bootloader without wiping everything?
thx in advance!
You don't have to wipe anything.. just flash bootloader using Odin...you can download gingerbread bootloaders from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16374373&postcount=70 ... having gingerbread bootloaders is better

[Q] On LPF - Back to GB reverting Bootloader?

Hi folks,
I have gone from GB (official) > LPY > LPF inc. the new bootloader.
Question is, is there any way of getting back to the original XEU bootloader to make the phone completely like out of the box?
Being an ICS bootloader, will this effect GB operation?
Thanks
I just flash germany LC1 using PC odin which is a 1 file ROM, and seems the bootloader is reverted to old one.
Ahh excellent. I have the 1 file XEU GB rom but there is nothing inside it for Bootloader.

ICS bootloader won't affect you in any way if you just flash any GB Rom, with or without its own bootloader.
But what about warranty purposes?

I don't think they can even see what bootloader you've got. Kernel is another
matter, though.

Downgrade to GB

Hello, I've looked around to find this answer but couldn't find an exact match. I want to downgrade from rocketrom ics to stock GB 2.3.6 using odin, my current. Kernel is franco. My device is checked and known to have dangerous eMMC bug. Is it completely safe to flash stock gb from rocketrom?

Afaik the full wipe part will be performed under the gb kernel as that is flashed before the from, so you'll be fine.

Sorry but i need to clarify this
So, is it ok to flash any rom with safe kernel? For instance CM9 RC1? I'm on official ics 4.0.3 from samsung, and like most of the note users i have the f*ing bug

Cm kernels will not work with tw based roms, only with aokp/aosp, and vice versa. You'll have to read up on the kernel pages themselves on which rom types they support.
So flash to gb first, perform full wipe, root and install cwm, then you can install custom kernels and roms from there. Never install from ics kernel, only downgrade to gb to be safe.

Downgrading to gb means; directly flashing a gb rom right? Yes, i'm new to all this.

Most of the rom files split down into three files but If you place the original tar file into pda, odin sorts out the partitions correctly for you.
All stock gb kernels are safe from emmc superbrick bug, safe to perform wipes.

[Q] Stock ROM the best ?

Hello, Im on jellybam and I get games little laggy. I done full instal, full wipes, full formats. Everything is clean. And I heard that ICS stock ROM is for best performance and games running very smooth. Is that true? If yes, which one Stock rom I have to install. Im from Lithuania, East Europe. Do I need first downgrade to GB and then write ICS? Or easiest way would be flash GB and try upgrading vie Kies?
I was on JellyBam and have went back to a stock-based rom, but I installed Sammy stock roms first. The process is simple...
1) Download GingerBread rom for your model from here
2) Get Odin, and follow the instructions on the thread to flash GB.
3) You can now either download a stock ICS rom from that thread, or do an OTA update, it's up to you. Using Odin will not increase the counter as it is an official rom.
4) Flash ICS using Odin/OTA
5) DO NOT WIPE ON ICS UNLESS USING A SAFE KERNEL. Personally, I'd go for Philz kernel, so download it and follow the instructions on that thread.
All you need to make sure is to be on a safe kernel whilst on ics. So you can flash ics using odin and the install a safe kernel and do a reset to get going.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Ok, so I need go to GB, then ICS and then to safe kernel, yes? And when I flash safe kernel then I should do full wipe and flash ROM again or just wipe?
Load the rom you want on pc and the corresponding philz kernel to ext sd
You can install ics using pc odin
Once it's done, boot into recovery and install philz kernel and then boot into recovery again and do a factory reset.

Ok, I try it tommorow
philz kernel is better or speedMod is better for performance?
Philz is Samsung Kernel. No tweaks. If you want good battery the speedmod performance then try hydracore

I looking for stock ICS and I found only One ICS for Baltic region N7000XXLQ3 and there is no philz kernel that is near XXLQ3 , so what to do? I tried KIES but it just showing rotation CONECTING... and nothing happpening, i reinstalled drivers, but still nothing.
As far ics is concerned, most of the ics kernels work with any rom. So worth a try

Download the stock rom you want from the link you were provided above and download the philz kernel for that firmware and flash them in mobile odin. You don't need to flash the kernel after the firmware has been flashed. With mobile Odin you can do it all in just one step.

Well, you can flash kernel at the same time you flash the firmware in mobile Odin by selecting kernel in that option. Your build last three letters have to match the kernel version...check philz thread that is explained in,detail there.

I found on samfirmwares.com ICS 4.0.4 for Baltics. PDA is N7000XXLRI , CSC N7000OXXLP9 . So witch one of philz kernels I should donwload?
