[Q] Problems installing CWR to Samsung Galaxy Mini - Samsung Galaxy Mini

I rooted my phone successful few days ago by this guide. Now I want Custom ROM so I need to install Clockworkmod Recorvery before I can install Custom ROM. I tried to install CWM by this guide but I got problems. When I push Start in Odin it starts...:
Download Start...
<0> Create File...
<1> StartThread Detected : 1
<2> StartThread Detected : 0
<3> StartThread Detected : 0
<4> StartThread Detected : 0
<5> StartThread Detected : 0
<6> StartThread Detected : 0
<7> StartThread Detected : 0
<8> StartThread Detected : 0
<1> setup connection...
<1> odin mode.. check plcatform verification. ...but freezes there.
Any ideas? I tried other USB port and other USB cable but no help. I can't try on other PC because I have only one PC. My main computer is Mac and Odin won't run on Mac.

flash it by stock recovery... can you?

flash this cwm using stock recovery.

Hey finAndroid, can your phone still detected by Odin
if YES : flash a stock firmware and use stock recovery to flash above sph21 's CWM
if NO : you got a big problem, because bootloader has been wrongly written. In this case, you need professional service to fix

i just flash my mini to have a CWM recovery, but im confuse if i did it correct
i followed the step by step, odin says PASS, and my phone reboot, but my apps aren't, deleted..
when i watched on youtube... flashing galaxy S to havwe CWM, it deleted all his apps... CONFUSED

Use only Odin 4.38, I once tried 4.4x and it just didn't work.

If you can get to download mode (can see download on screen) Then it is fixable with Odin. If you cannot see download then im afraid you are like me with a bricked Ace. Only service centre or jtag will work.

Mobile doesn't react at all, but Download-Modus works.

Hey, I really need your help.
Today I tried to install new Custom ROM (MIU or something).
I installed it normaly and rebooted. I didn't watch what the mobile is doing in that moments and when I took a look at it it was turned off.
The problem now is that it doesn't react at all.
I managed to put it in the download modus. Pressing the buttons and turn in the battery then. It connects via USB but it does show nothing on the display.
The next step then was to flash it completely new with ODIN.
But ODIN just stops at setup connection:
Download Start...
<0> Create File...
<1> StartThread Detected : 1
<2> StartThread Detected : 0
<3> StartThread Detected : 0
<4> StartThread Detected : 0
<5> StartThread Detected : 0
<6> StartThread Detected : 0
<7> StartThread Detected : 0
<8> StartThread Detected : 0
<1> setup connection...
Once I got the error messages:
<1> --- cannot open the usb serial port. code: 87
and
<1> --- cannot open the usb serial port. code: 2
Can you please please help me get it going!!!
Greetings,
Your Dematik

Hi Dematik!
You can read about similar issues here (unsolved)
or here or this or this
It looks bad, but...
Good luck anyway.
Hey, thanks for your effort.
I think I pressed Volume UP + Home + Power. This is the RAMdump Mode isn't it?
If I'm correct it isn't useful to recover my mobile?
Thank again.

Hello Dematik!
You enter in recovery mode when you press just 2 buttons: Home + Power.
You're welcome.
Good luck.
Well I'd suggest you to try the "POWER + HOME + VOLUME DOWN" combo instead of the one you tried, because they are different. If a yellow "downloading..." appears in the middle of a black screen you are in the right downloading mode that should work with odin, just talking from my experiences
Or If you can open CWM, then just flash another Rom if not Odin is your last choice
If you are getting an error of cannot connect to the serial port, reinstall the drivers and flash via Odin.
Press that damn thanks button even if I didn't help you. I just love to earn more of them

Hel please

Odin won't download CWM

Hello,
I want to download ClockWorkMod recovery, and Odin won't download it.
My steps:
1.Stop Kies
2.Open up Odin
3.Turn off the device and put on Download Mode
4.Connect USB
5.Set up Files (tass v1.0.ops and one-package cwm.tar)
Odin write:
Download Start...
<0> Create File...
<1> StartThread Detected : 1
<2> StartThread Detected : 0
<3> StartThread Detected : 0
<4> StartThread Detected : 0
<5> StartThread Detected : 0
<6> StartThread Detected : 0
<7> StartThread Detected : 0
<8> StartThread Detected : 0
<1> setup connection...
and stuck. Please Help...
EDIT: Hey! I have solved my problem! I don't run the correct OPS file.
But now, when I want to backup my phone, it write alot of errors such as: 'Can't open /system, Can't mount cache...'
You can't backup stock ROM, don't bother yourself.
