Hello Guys....
Need help here, especially after i screwed up my SGN until both CWM & SuperSU won't install anymore.
What i did was:
Upgrade from rooted GB to ICS LPY.....seems ok.
Rooted Stock LPY to Kingdroid ICS v1.4.......seems ok.
Flashed Abyss 4.2 kernel, without wipe, and flashed Rocket ICS LPY.
Then when i decided to flash back to Kingdroid ICS v1.4, it seemed fine but no more CWM only Super SU.
So i flashed CWM.zip, followed with SU-Busybox-Installer.zip, it's running fine till complete but when rebooted, CWM & SuperSU were not installed.
Then i tried to flash back to both Stock GB & ICS using PC Odin and tried to root ICS LPY using same instruction, yet CWM & SuperSU just won't install anymore here. And i notice there's this old superuser instead right now.
May i know what i had done wrong & how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I see.
Try flashing LPF Rom via PC-Odin and follow the instruction from here to get root!
I think it should work!
Edit: Changed the link, check it out

Okay...flashed LPF with PC Odin successfully, rooted using Dr. Ketan's instructions & rebooted......................same issue with no CWM & SuperSU installed but old superuser. Downloaded SuperSU from google market, now it has both old superuser & SuperSU but no CWM
Dear Sotiris20, thanks for your tips though
FINALLY it works.....what i did was to flash CF-Root-SGN_ZS_OZS_LPF-v5.3-CWM5.zip using mobile odin, and voila CWM is installed, old superuser is gone & replaced by SuperSU.

Kingdroid V2 comes with franco-kernel r3.
In that version you dont get a CWM app and SU app. They are still there though but not visible in the appdrawer.

Hi! Thanks for the info, as I was wondering what had happened to my SU app after I flashed Kingdroid v3 on my N7000. Kingdroid v3 has franco kernel r5, and as I understand, has CWM. I know I'm still rooted because MyBackup Pro has indicated that.
Is the SU app in Kingdroid v3 from Superuser or SuperSU? Also, if the apps no longer show up in the appdrawer, how do I manage root access? Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone.
My problem sounds strange.
Whatever ICS build I flash, I cannot uninstall app or clear data.
As a away to fix this, I've reflashed back to different stock GB ROMs ( KJ3, KJ4, KK3, Cl1 wipe) and the problem still the same.
As I had read somewhere; this problem occurs only with some NEW Notes which come with indirectly rootable ROM and you downgrade it to earlier stock GB in order to root.
The initial Firmware that came with the device LA1 ...
Any suggestion please ?!
worth to know that I am currently on TMT 1.0. I 've tried earlier version of MIDNOTE ,ZCLP6 and everything was the same "trying to uninstall does work and application info always shows Computing"

Have you tried with Titanium Backup Pro? That allows uninstall, at least for me.
Cheers!
the reason why is cause you will not be fully rooted properly

To make sure you have proper root, try to paste anything (a pic or video) to the /system folder and see if it's saved
Tested, root works perfectly .... but it's still not fixed
Ok try this:
-download AbyssNote Kernel version 4.2 and ICS Stunner and put them in your sd card
- reboot to recovery and flash AbyssNote Kernel version 4.2 (ONLY use version 4.2)
- after flashing is done, go to advanced menu---> reboot recovery
- now your in Redpill Recovery, go to install menu and flash ICS Stunner 1.4.19
- press reboot system after you finish installation
Test if uninstalling is working this way

Do I need to reflash everything starting from android ?!
Because I've flashed this working method over TMT with wipe data/ factory reset!

Can you flash AbyssNote kernel version 4.2? If you can then you're lucky, just flash it, go to advanced menu and choose Reboot Recovery and from Redpill Touch recovery flash your preferred ROM
Hey.
Yesterday i was trying to do an update of the 'SU binary' in Superuser under the ICS StuNNeR v1.4.26.1 ROM. But it didn't let me do it.
It told me something about S-ON and about not having a root access. So i thought that i was kinda screwed.
So i downgraded to an Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread ROM via PC Odin that was pre-rooted to see if that would help and installed CF-Root v5.3 via the 'Initial CF Root Flasher'.
After i had installed that Android 2.3.6 ROM, i made sure that i actually had full root access by copying a file from my SD card to the system folder after pressing the R/W button in Root Explorer.
That went all fine. I could also delete that file in the system folder again. So all was fine here.
Now i went into CWM and did those things.
1. Wipe Dalvik Cache
2. Wipe Cache Partition
2. Format Data / Factory Reset
After that i installed ICS StuNNeR v1.4.26.1 via CWM again (i have tried with other ICS ROMs to).
The installation of the ROM went all fine.
Now i'm in the ICS StuNNeR ROM on my Galaxy Note and i'm trying to update the 'SU binary' in Superuser.
Here it will fail and give me this message: This updater cannot update the su binary on phones that have some kind of write protection on the system partition like S-ON. You can continue to use Superuser with your outdated binary, or update su with ROM Manager.
And when i try to press the R/W button in Root Explorer here, then nothing happens either.
So my question is, what i'am doing wrong here to not get full root?
I have tried every possible ways to get root on any ICS ROMs, but without any luck.
If someone can give me an EXACT way of getting the full root back on ICS, then i would be gladly.

Well, I was double checking the instructions on Stunner and he doesn't say you have to flash the repack anymore coming from Gingerbread. He said tested and worked fine with CF root. Is the instructions of the OP of Stunner what you did?
---------- Post added at 11:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:13 AM ----------
I know on .19 of Stunner neobuddy switched to SuperSU, but he switched back to Superuser for compatibility with kernel. I'm on .19 now so I can't check the SU binary updater to see if I have any problems or not. Maybe someone else can!

Yes.
This is what i did.
Backup data apps.
Download and copy latest Stunner ROM on your SD Card.
Make sure you are on Rooted ROM. Reboot in recovery.
ONLY IF YOU ARE ON GINGERBREAD: Flash Abyss Kernel. Goto Advanced and Reboot Recovery. Tested and confirmed working on CF-Root Kernel.
Wipe Data (Recommended but not mandatory if you on Stunner ROM already)
Flash ROM.
Flash suitable Modem (Optional, recommended ICS LP5 modem)(not included in ROM)
Reboot and Read Caution.
Do not restore system apps or system data.
So yeah, as you guess. I have no freaking clue on why i can't get full root on ICS StuNNeR ROM (or other ICS ROMs).
Just follow chasmodo's guide in the Development forum (it's a sticky so you'll easily find it)..
Your problem is when you flashed Stunner directly from CWM recovery..
That guide has all the necessary steps, just follow it exactly and you'll be good with full root
So, you can't put a file in /system on Stunner at all? What about TI Backup? Do you use it? Can it gain root access?
I'm trying to work through this with you as much as I can, I'm not the smartest person on here by any means .
I want to tell you to install SuperSU, but I'm not sure if that's best. I tell you what, could you flash .19 Stunner instead of .26.1 and see if it works with root?
Edit:
I'm glad matius44 is on here to help you now!

Are you sure you used Abyss kernel version 4.2 exactly? It has worked for many users but there are minority who did not work for them too..
However, if you want to flash Stunner you can flash the ICS Repack by Chainfire (LP1 ONLY, NOT LP5) and from that you can flash Stunner and maintain root..But it's been discovered recently that repacks kernels are dangerous so I do not advice you to do it, you flash it on your own risk..

Yeah, i have used the AbyssNote kernel v4.2. Is there any difference from the AbyssNote kernel 4.2 Final CW Touch to the AbyssNote kernel 4.2 Final RedPill Touch ?
I used the AbyssNote kernel 4.2 Final CW Touch one though.
EDIT: Oh, i actually did flash an Android 2.3.6 LC1 ROM that is rooted before i flashed an ICS ROM with the AbyssNote v4.2 kernel. Maybe that's the problem?

Oh ok, then i will try again with the RedPill kernel to see if this will work then.
Stay put.
Installed a rooted Android 2.3.6 ROM via PC Odin.
Then i used the 'Initial CF Root Flasher' after placing the CF-Root v5.3 (LC1) zImage file in the 'zImage' folder and then used the 'already-rooted.bat' file to get the CF-Root 5.3.
Now i used CWM Recovery (By pressing Volume Up + Home and Power button) to flash the CheckROM NoteHD v6 (LC1) ROM. Yes, i did check that i had full root access here before i did continue.
Now when i'm in the CheckROM NoteHD ROM, then i opened the CWM application and then booted into CWM Recovery and then flashed the 'AbyssNote Kernel v4.2 Red Touch Original Logo'.
Then i restarted the CWM Recovery.
From here i did this.
Wipe Dalvik Cache, Wipe Cache Partition and Format Data / Factory Reset.
Now i installed the Nandroid backup i had of my ICS StuNNeR ROM earlier before i got those problems.
And after i did this, then i finally could update the 'SU binary' in the SuperSU application and get full access to the System folder with Root Explorer .

Am afraid to say you're one of the unlucky few who this method does not apply to them
Now you have 3 solutions:
1- From a rooted Gingerbread ROM flash the LP1 (notice LP1 ONLY, NOT LP5) using Odin (Mobile or PC), and after that flash Stunner from recovery. However, I do not recommend this seeing the recent news of how dangerous ICS kernels are..
2- From a rooted Gingerbread ROM flash the new official CM9 (taking into consideration the known issues) since it uses an open source kernel instead of one of the leaks' kernel
3- Wait for official ICS release so we have more reliable ICS custom kernels
Your choice mate
EDIT: Glad you sorted it out

Just use your mobileodin and download speedmod k3-9 in tar file and flash, thats all.
As far the CWM App , you need to install CF root kernel for it. But all other kernels by default give you access to the CWM Recovery.
I have read particular threads here in xda note forum... and believe me, I am getting more and more confused on the procedure on how to get back to GINGERBREAD as I read more and more about this stuff... Forgive me, but my mind is only like PENTIUM 4, I dont really understand some High-level procedures...
So here is some details
Reason why to go back to GINGERBREAD:
Because I'm afraid that my Note has suffered "slight" emmc brick. I could not mount /system as R/W on root explorer and File expert or ES file Manager also tried remounting using terminal emulator...
History:
during my CRISKELO V8 days, I have flashed in CWM the "hacked S VOICE" and after reboot, experienced random reboots and FC's. and then it could not read my internal as well as my external memory card, and says i need to reformat it, so i reformat it and everything went well.. but still getting FC's and random reboots however it can now read my internal and external sd card, so to get rid of FC's and randome reboot I flashed Kingdroid v5.1.1 final version and everything went well, smooth and all running except that i noticed that i could not mount my /system as RW so decided to revert back to gingerbread.
Current Phone Info
pda: n7000xxlrg
phone: n7000xxlrb
csc: n7000dbtlrg
ROM: Kingdroid ICS Note Mania v5.1.1 lrg
KERNEL: speedmod-n7000-ics #k3-11
Android version; 4.0.4
Planned Procedure in reverting back to Gingerbread
1. Flashed Abyss kernel 4.2 (the one with touch type CWM) via PC ODin. (may increase flash counter but it doesnt matter)
2. boot in CWM and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik
3. Install Gingerbread ROM.zip via CWM (probably Kingdroid gingerbread rom)
4. boot in CWM and wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and reboot system
Please tell me if my procedure is correct and please advise me if i am missing something... I desperately need your help here guys... cause i dont wanna cause more trouble to my note as he suffered a lot...
THANK YOU!!!!

SuperSU : Installed correctly but failed to update binaries
Busybox Installer app: Installed correctly but could not install any version of the busybox
Another thing is that i have no space left on my /system it is 100% used?? why is that?
does this means I have partial root??? If thats the case... then what can I do to obtain full root???
Thanks....

It seems like you don’t have full root. Revert back to GB. Root your device. Upgrade it to any ICS version. Remember to do full wipe on safe kernels. Not on stock ICS kernels.

Ok probably I would revert back to Gingerbread later, because i am at the office right now. I will follow your instruction on reverting to gingerbread and as of now I am downloading n7000dxlc2 2.3.6 for indonesia... but i am from Philippines will it work for me???
another question... why is my /system 100% used?? Is it because i do not wipe data/factory reset when i install ROMS and so some system files remains in my phone?? it is stated in ROM thread that it is ok to flash their ROM even without wiping.... its really weird...
Thanks Sir for your response:good:

For the first question . YES it will work for you.
Second after installing Rom you have to do all three Wipes for a clean install. Your system shows full because you didn't perform wipes after flashing

Hi there friend. . .
I have successfully flashed stock gingerbread and it is rooted. . . /system now can be mounted as rw i also tried to install ics now, however. . . If i flash a custom ics rom (kingdroid v5.1.1) the root is gone and /system is again read only and cannot mount as rw, I also tried kingdroid v7 ics but i am stucked at boot screen. . .
For your reference here is the procedure that i made,
Ics to gingerbread
1. Install abyss kernel 4.2 do full wipe
2. Flash stock gingerbread rom (lc2) via odin, but i could not root it. Error says cannot install su apk or busybox apk /system is read only
3. Flash rooted stock gingerbread rom (kj1) via odin and root success /system can now be mounted as rw
4. Install abyss kernel 4.2 do full wipe and try install kingdroid v7 but stuck at boot screen
5. Install abyss kernel 4.2 do full wipe and try install kingdroid v5.1.1 sucess but root is gone and /system is read only
6. Flash agian rooted stock gingerbread rom (kj1) via odin, root success and /system can be mount as rw.
Now im stuck at rooted gingerbread rom, is there a way i can install ics custom rom without any problem? Seriously. . .whats going on with my note? Hahahaha crazy. .

Hahahaha crazy. . .

UK Samsung Note GT N7000 just upgrade to 4.0.4 N7000XXLRK... everything went fine, found the speed has increased and the battery life is way better than the original rom....
But there is the problem... I made a total backup using CWM before I flashed, but now I'm in 4.0.4 I cant install Titanium Backup nor CWM. to retreave the backup info.. I installed Rom Manager and try to install clockwork through that it download and installed, but nothing else happens, found out Samsung note not supported...... I really need to get CWM installed I have searched the net but very little is coming forward..
The more advanced were getting the further back were going, I may have no chance but to go back to Gingerbread
Thank you for any help you may give.
Merry Christmas & happy New Year.
Well it seems to me that you flashed a rom without Root / custom kernel...
The only way in my eyes is to flash a Kernel with CWM via Odin.
Find a fitting kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
thank trahzebuck for the quick reply.. My phone was rooted before, and after the new flash its still rooted, I have just been told to check out "emmc bug" program from play store.. it seem that I have a dodgy chip... I have root checker basic that say I have root access, So its not that I installed a rom without this is what i installed N7000XXLRK_N7000XXLRK_N7000ORALP2_HOME.tar.md5... after reading a little about the EMMC BUG im not so sure I want it now, shame....

Look for lrk kernel. Download the zip version, place it on ext sd card and flash it from stock recovery. Or install mobile odin and flash hydracore or speedmod
