My LG Thrill is unlocked and I am using it with Tmobile, and it is rooted using the latest CM7. I wanted to update my baseband to the newest V20 RIL but also keep root, probably running the stock rom that comes with the new baseband.
Will I have to unlock the phone again after updating baseband?
You will have to reroot but your phone will stay unlocked.

I am wondering why it is that every rom that I flash make me lose signal. I've tried updating to gingerbread and the baseband from that and no signal. I've tried other roms meant for froyo and still no luck. I've even tried changing frequencies when on these roms and nothing helps. Any ideas?

My stock rom works fine, its just any other rom. Also I didn't need to reflash the froyo baseband to get stock working again.

Same thing here. Just flashed GB baseband and i lost signal completely. Also on rogers p925g. Why is it not working if GB baseband is flashed?
Just to be clear i flashed GB rom after GB baseband.
The only gb baseband is from the p920 international euro version which doesn't provide 850mhz reception which is still used this side of the pond.

I'm running v20c right now but I've got a rom backed up in cwm that's on v20p baseband ... can I use cwm to backup to it or do I need to reflash v20p before I back it up does anyone know ?

Yes it should you just won't flash baseband unless you use LG flash tool so you will have the rom on 20c baseband Wich is the same as 20p I believe someone correct me if I am wrong thank me if I am correct already

if it dont work you can use acid hazard to put the stock 20p kernel which i tried today with the thrills v2.2 for 20p it didnt work over 20c baseband till i tried lestats kernel option and i put the att stock kernel on and it work doesnt change baseband but makes 20p roms work on atleast 20c i know atleast that particular combination
Okay so not a newb just moving too this phone and had a question about basebands im on froyo and i got this phone 2nd hand i rooted my self but im wondering about gingerbread if i flash a gb rom without updating baseband im assuming itll brick or the radios wont work right? Now my other question is there a way to update gingerbread with a straight talk sim on stock rom or is there a easy way to update the baseband without a computer

Hi,
I have just bought a 2nd hand Optimus 2x. It came with Android 2.2.2 installed so I ran the mobile support tool to upgrade to Gingerbread to at least try the stock rom before trying anything else.
It said there was an update available but after checking the phone said i have the latest version installed (v20l).
When i checked i have the 725 baseband but the v10b rom.
Does that mean that someone has had a custom rom on it before and loaded the Froyo rom bck on it?
Whats my best option? Go back to older baseband and let phone auto detect and install latest, just flash v20l rom or go to a custom rom i.e. Cyanogen?
Graeme
It seems that the base band has been changed.. its not a problem imo, u can update the fone through the lg update tool on a computer or just do the ota update.. the letters at the end (v20b) is representative of the country but should not affect u.. once u have updated u can root and the down load the get ril app and check if the base band and ril match (if not that app will help u fix it) .. all In all shouldn't be any problems updating

You can only flash 4.4.2 factory based roms or AOSP roms built on 24A.
Do they have a baseband zip that u can install all the baseband at once?11a-24a?

If your bootstack is already 24A you don't need to flash it again.
