Funniest bug ever
First off thanks for your work. Just did a full wipe and everything started back to 0 with this rom [IMM76D] Nexus S 4.0.4 stock OTA (deodexed, rooted, zipaligned, busybox) and I choosed my new ringtones and notification sound and after my first reboot my notification tone just started to play for no reasons.
No incoming txt or phone call and there was no way for me to turn it off. Did that twice same error.
Well my bad it does that all the time I just have to pulldown the notification bar and it stops.
Sorry again.

Could anybody please re-up the full audio files and the power-on/off sounds?
I would appreciate. THX
Edit:
Got them here at AndroidCommunity.com (not flashable tho).
Using this guide i was able to make my own flashable zip-file after all.
Still, the power-on/off sounds are missing in that package but should not be hard to find.
Thanks for attention.

[Old Now Froyo Only!]
Hi all,
Update 30/03: Testing seems okay so flashable zip file for recovery added.
There seems to be a lot of demand for a silent video camera and I sometimes wonder if the motives are questionable but nevertheless, I aim to please.
LG have put security around the video camera sound files (these are in camera.apk/res/raw/ - camstart01.wav and camstop01.wav). They verify the file by name, id and most significantly a hash key. This means it is impossible to change the files without changing the code.
So here we have the modified Camera.apk with code changes.
No video camera start sound
No video camera end sound
Still camera sounds not affected
Sound file verification and sound trigger code removed, no code added
Download the .zip file below and flash it from ClockworkMod Recovery.
Download: O2xNoVideoSound-unsigned.zip
Please report back and I like the 'Thanks' button below...
It seems to work like it should, no beep when starting/stopping recording!
Thank you very much
works great thanks!
Thanks! It works without problem!

I tried flashing this through CWM and it ended up getting stuck in a boot loop. Had to restore my backup to get it to boot again. I'm running stock Android 2.2.2, Kernal 2.6.32.9, Build FRG83G and LGE version LGP990-V10d.
Any ideas why it's not working?

No, I don't know why sorry. It should work, it simply replaces one file.
In fact I can't imagine what could even cause the loop. To be honest I'd need to see a log to confirm what the problem was.
If you can get a log with adb whilst it's looping I'd take a look for you but of course this is effort you may not care to go to.
Thanks for the reply and offer, but yea that is a bit more effort than I think the silent video is worth at the moment. Hopefully nobody else is having issues.

Searched high and low for this, didn't find anything, so I went on and did it.
Attached are flashable .zips to give the Search button the default pre-JB behaviour, allowing for in-app search and/or activate wake with volume rocker. One with both mods, one with vol. wake only + undo .zip.
Works with stock deodexed JB ROM.
Credit goes to Articudos. I have decompiled android.policy.jar, modded it for volume wake, then created the .zips modifying his (his thread is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788719 if you want the JB key layout fix only).
Tested on my device and it works. Nevertheless, flash at your own risk.

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum.
Many people got phone calls on stock ICS, then changed to 4.2.2 and lost it
But while seeking the forum, I GOT IT AT LAST!!
Although, it has a bug, which is when u receive a call and slide the call button, as soon as u press it it says "unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped working", but it might work perfectly on other ROMS
I tested it on Infamous ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220912
Here it is :
Format System (No data wipe required if ur reflashing same rom)
Install ROM, Gapps, and the file attached
Fix permissions (just incase)
Dont reboot untill u do all of that, as in dont reboot in the middle of the procedure.
There u have it
Please tell me if it worked
EDIT : works perfect on infamous 1.7.2, just extract the zip file, paste all the files in their place, and keep the phone.apk untouched (keep the original phone.apk Cruz it works)
P.S : i really appreciate Khomsn for making the CM10.1 build with phone calls, but that build is REALLY laggy.
Thank you everyone.
P.P.S : u have to flash i9103DXLP2 modem (has to be that number specifically) really important to do, link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40754968&postcount=15 (thanks John Kester )

Umm... i just installed the phone.apk from Khomsn's thread as a normal apk and that seemed to fix my problem.
Otherwise. Just push the phone.apk in /system/app/ and fix permissions (i dont think fixing permissions is neccesary but i just do it incase)

Consider installing gapps that contains a phone apk after which you flash the phone fix above. Your tab should make calls flawlessly but know that the speaker is set to off by default so you have to activate it when making a call.

i think it's the META-INF that's the issue.
i'll try to put them in another zip and reply.
BTW: i've got a build of infamous aokp with phonecalls "without the need to do anything" but i think im gonna need permission to upload it.
But for the time-being, i think installing the phone.apk like a normal app will work "iv'e tried it out of curiosity and it actually installed )
but i still don't know why com.android.phone keeps FCing after opening mobile data in settings or when answering a call. Anybody got any tips.

this thread should be sticked. nice job well done, bro!
Description
The Galaxy S4, like its predecessors and some other devices, has a hardcoded "increasing ring" feature where the ringtone starts out quiet and gradually gets louder, reaching full volume in about 3 or 4 seconds. Some people don't want this (like me).
There are two ways to work around this behavior. First, you can use an app, such as Disable Increasing Ring. The advantage is that you don't need root. The disadvantage is that now you have an app running 24/7, using up memory unnecessarily, albeit a very small amount. The second solution is to patch the SecPhone.apk. That's what this mod does.
Most of the credit goes to gharrington in this post whose method I used to patch SecPhone.apk.
Feel free to use in ROMs, redistribute, etc., but remember to give credit.
Instructions
As with all mods, nandroid backup in case something goes wrong. This mod is provided as-is, use at your own risk, etc.
You can install this one of two ways. The ZIP file can be installed from pretty much any recovery, such as TWRP. It will automatically clear cache/dalvik. Or you can manually copy over the APK with a root file explorer.
Note
I'm using a MDC ROM currently, so I modded the SecPhone.apk that came with MDC. I don't know if that particular apk has changed in later official ROM updates. I can easily perform this mod on newer versions if someone wants to PM me newer SecPhone.apk file in /system/app. I'll try to keep this thread up-to-date as newer updates come down the pipe for as long as I have this device.
Download
Update zip: SecPhone.zip - 9.11 MB
APK file: SecPhone.apk - 10.51 MB

It appears as though you can flash the zip in recovery. The .apk is also attached, so you could move that to system/app to replace your existing secphone.apk, set permissions and reboot. Or you could adb push the .apk to the system/app directory and adb reboot. I'm pretty sure any of those methods will work.
Any chance of getting call record enable in your apk?

Samsung should really just make that an option to disable in their next update. I miss to many calls because I heard my phone to late

It worked perfectly for me, I used the .apk and followed the instructions. I'm on the Sonic rom. It's MDL.

Thanks for this, but it doesn't appear to be deodexed. Does anybody have a copy of the deodexed version?

I'll look into it. The instructions on the post I linked to in the top post didn't work. I kept getting FC when I tried. I'll have to look around to see if anybody has figured that out yet for the S4. If you can find a guide, I'm happy to do the leg work.

Well I applied the necessary patches, but it didn't work. The button appears, but the button doesn't activate anything or sometimes the phone app just crashes when you press it. It just might not work with MDC as I saw others stating basically the same thing with MDC ROMs. You can try the MDN version in that post. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about what's going on behind the scenes, so I don't know how to debug this. It's too bad because call record would be really handy.
Still waiting on ForceROM to update to MDL then I can get to work on the MDL version.
Can you post the file so I can try it? Im on ForceROM running MDL...
