Hi, Im using droid 3 outside US. With a gsm card. Phone is unlocked, everything works fine.
But, when I tried to dial *611 (service number for my carrier), phone automatically changes +611 for the verizon international number 1-908-559-4899
How can I do to dial a simple *611?

I have a TN Ty II that was locked to the Orange UK network. I succesfully unlocked it and it has been working fine on T-Mobile(Virgin) PAYG for about 4 months. Now it will not receive or make calls, but signal on T-Mobile is fine, connects to the netork, no problem. If I insert an Orange PAYG Sim the phone works fine (In/Out). Virgin have said that maybe my number is "Black Listed" and that they would send me a new SimCard with the same number!! Seems strange if my number is BlackListed. My question is When a network provider provides a customer with a phone do they log the phones IMS number? Could they then stop that phone working on other networks, or request that other networks block the phone with that IMS?
Any help appreciated.

Hi there, I've got a problem on my motorola droid 3, I'm in Colombia and I need to dial *611 to call my phone service provider, but when I press the CALL buton it changes the numer to another one very different, I guess thats a configuration problem but I'm not sure how to solve it, the number it generates is: +1-908-559-4899 does any one know whats the problem? I'm runnig Verizon's stock ROM

That number is apparently Verizon's international team, my guess for activating the Verizon/Vodafone SIM that comes standard. You should see if you can find an alternate/correct activation number for your carrier, although normally this is on CDMA and not GSM. Are you using the phone in CDMA or GSM mode? If using CDMA mode, your D3 will require flashing a PRL and modified data strings. If it is GSM, I'd suggest activating the sim in a secondary phone, then putting it into the D3.
I just purchased a Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900A), full-price, off-contract, from AT&T Wireless. I used an existing GoPhone (prepaid) account/phone number to activate the phone. The phone works (voice calls) with the AT&T SIM. However, I want to use the phone/device on aioWireless. I have a microSIM for aio. I have purchased an unlock code and followed the unlock instructions. I received a "Successful unlock" message after entering the 8 digit network code. However, I cannot make phone calls (or use the data plan) when the aioWireless SIM is installed. When dialing a number with the aio SIM, I get a recorded message that the service has been deactivated, and to contact AT&T.
When I try to verify whether the phone has truly been unlocked by typing *#SIMLOCK# nothing happens. If I then push the CALL button, I then get the message: Connection problem or invalid MMI code.
Any clues what is going on?

I have no idea.
I would look up the APN settings for AIO and input those (Settings>Connections>More networks>Mobile networks>Access Point Names)
You could always just call AIO customer service or walk into a store and they should be able to help you out.

I thought APN is just for data and has nothing to do with his inability to place calls! especially that he is getting" service deactivated"
I would check the AIO account if its working first.

APN is indeed simply meant for DATA and MMS
Your phone is functional with TEXT message and CALL's WITHOUT even a single APN setting set up
The main problem here is compatibility. OR the SIM card
SOMETIMES you have to leave the sim card inside your phone for at least 5- 10 minutes
At one time it took me 20 minutes for a sim card to be recognized, then I got 4G
It depends on the network.
But if all fails, just call your new network and try to get a new sim card
As long as your phone is fully compatible, and you know it, there are ways around it.

The *#SIMLOCK# and various variants of it no longer works starting from the GALAXY S3 and Above (Not even all S2's accept this code)
I carrier unlocked my Galaxy S 5 and wanted to know if it would work on Verizon's network.
It might work on Wcdma, & Lte. Maybe other chime in.

I'd like to know as well.
Because I'm switching and my S5 is carrier unlocked.
When I put my VZW SIM (which works fine in an iphone 6) in the phone there is no indication of a problem, i.e. wrong sim, etc.
However the signal icon is generic and if I try to place a call it gives me that dreaded not registered on network pop up.
If I look in the properties on the phone the (VZW) number is displayed but it does not show as activated on network.
So my question is does the S5 (actually purchased at a Best Buy store as MetroPCS and unlocked to use on ATT) have the proper modem to work with VZW? If not I will need to sell it.
Interestingly enough I put the ATT SIM in the (VZW) iphone and it worked instantly. Placed calls, send SMS, and get LTE speeds with nothing to change whatsoever!

Hi.
For those who don't know, Freedom Mobile (formerly Wind) is a T-Mobile equivalent network here in Canada, but until recently they launch a new LTE network and their site says I can use my N900A. I used their phone compatibility checker to confirm (see attachment)
However, I bought their sim to test, I get LTE data and works fast, but I can't make phone calls. It just sits there doing nothing and finally hangs. I checked the simcard on another phone and it works, so it's not the sim.
I'm using the lollipop OC1 firmware stock only. What could be the issue here? I appreciate any input.

My phone is unlocked (RegionLockAway) a while ago.
My *#2263# is set to Automatic.
Do calls work on the Bell, Telus, or Rogers network?
