Okay I really like your ROM, there's just a few issues I've seen so far. FYI that SnakeS BatteryBooster is great, works perfectly.
1. This is the biggest problem. In-call volume for me changes from REALLY high to REALLY low to the point where it hurts my ear and the person on the other line hears themselves and complains about an echo. Then it switches to so low I can't hear anything.
2. Playing music in my car I plug in a AUX headphone jack into it and some songs sound like ****, and randomly stop. While others play perfectly, but if I plug regular headphones in... no problems :/ well now songs have a scratched cd sound like the phone lags for a second(headphones and phone speakers)
3.FM Radio crashes, I ended up just uninstalling it to save space
4. I use Google Voice for my voicemail service and someone left me a voice mail of about 6 seconds of them talking, but the message lasts for a full minute even after you hear them hang-up
5. Says "Radio" was using most of my battery? I'm not sure if that's the cell service or a actual FM Radio service, because I uninstalled after seeing this.
My Display Brightness in this rom is funked, i have to turn the brightness to 100% to see anything...turning the brightness to automatic or half way completely turns off the back light. And the result of having my brightness at %100 kills my battery in 3 hours

That is awesome that there is still some dev for this phone. Downloading now and can't wait to flash it.

I had that auxiliary problem on cm7. You just have to keep the media volume at 75-80%. At first I thought it had something to do with high quality songs. I think it shuts audio off automatically if it reaches a peak as to not blow a headphone

I'm having the same problem... the best I could do is put it at 50% and avoid using my phone in direct sunlight.
I just ran into something else, I had not used my phone for 5 hours... locked it at 31% battery and didn't touch it at all, I only received 2 emails, and one text message (which for some reason there was no notification for)
Anyways I had put it to sleep connected to WiFi, and I tried to reply to that text and I kept getting "Message failed to send" so i turn off WiFi and my phone says a I have full bars, but no "E, 3G, or H" was shown... just the signal bars. My internet wasn't working either and still couldn't send the text, so I reboot the phone. Weird thing is when it turned back on I went from 28% battery to 4%?? Any help would be great lol I'm still experiencing the fluctuating in-call volume :/

can anyone confirm that this does or does not work on our phone? I heard it doesn't work for CDMA
Works fine on CDMA however I can't get it to work on this phone. It starts fine and set up goes fine but then it will randomly turn itself off. May be a memory issue I'm not sure.
I've been running the beta, and have had no issues.

So I had to remove the app this morning. Not sure if it actually did anything, I used the plotter, and it kept it fairly level for a few hours early in the morning (3-4am) but I think whatever processes it runs to save battery also prevented my alarm from going off as well.
Two issues I ran into were my alarm not going off (even though it was set, i double checked it last night and this morning) and my screen refusing to turn off. Ended up rebooting the phone and removing the app and haven't had those issues again.

The app won't affect your alarm, might want to check task killers or memory managers. Not sure about the screen turning off, but it would be helpful to check your logs to find the problem. Sounds like you have something screwy going on.

Could be true, could be false, that's sorta the problem.
Either way, I'll look into it.
I also have a problem with juice defender. I don't know if it is already a setting or not, but when using any program that utilizes 3g when the screen blanks out (screen mute) you loose connectivity even on programs that are running. I know that you can simply go in and disable juice defender, but it seems like the program could be written to allow programs you select to keep the 3g signal open even during screen mute as long as they are running. So in other words allow for another check list to allow only selected programs to use 3g no matter what. Please if this exists already let me know where the setting is cause I want it.

Been running Juice Defender v1.8.8. for 2 days. Before that, I was running the BETA version. It's running on auto config as I wanted to see how it would manage on its own. Neither one seems to make a difference in battery consumption. It eventually stops running for some unknown reason. When running, the JD icon doesn't appear in the status bar but appears in the task manager. After a few hours, it disappears from task manager so I assume it stopped running. A friend of mine turned me onto this and swore that he got 16 hrs on a single charge on his rooted HTC Evo running Froyo (custom ROM), semi-heavy usage. He showed me at work, didn't charge his phone all day and by the time we were going home, he's still at 50% battery life. I'm running stock ROM (rooted - bloatware removed). I don't mind getting a paid version but if the free version is not working for me, I wouldn't even think of buying it.
Uninstalling JD as I type this.

Is the version you stated the beta?
Disregard the question, lol, re-read your post.
I have the paid version and I swear by it. I can go two days with moderate use. The only thing it does is great extends stand by time. You go hours without your battery moving a percentage point. I have the paid version and it is set by default, and you can set it yourself, to not turn off data if it is using the data. I don't know what the settings of the free version are, but when I'm using the data it never shuts it off. The only way it closes itself is when I charge it overnight. No big deal for all it does. Truly an essential, powerful app. I suggest people take a look at the settings and see how it is set up before dismissing it. Also get juice plotter to see what it's doing

As with any app, different phones play differently with them. I hear from some that things don't work, when they run as intended on my phone. This will always be the case.
I can say absolutely that Juice Defender Beta works without a problem on my device, and I have tested it extensively. It does what it should without issues or problems.
That obviously isn't the case for everyone. I will suggest that before someone blast a well written app publicly and possibly discourage someone who might benefit from it from trying it out, that they contact the developer with their issues and see if there is a known conflict or bug. I have resolved issues with apps like this many times, and almost always it was something on my end that fixed it, not the app itself.
Daswolven, I agree with you completely. Learned that with my Droid1 with the overclock speeds and voodoo with this phone, some things just don't work properly on your particular handset. I took the time to understand what this app does and it is extremely powerful. The best way to find out what's good for you is to try it. On a side note, I have been harassing the makers of Beautiful Widgets about the fc issue with our phones. I think they actually took care of it with the last update because I haven't had one in a while haha.
I've also done research on another app called BatteryFu which is suppose to be a "lean and mean" battery saver, compared to JD. Toby Kurien, the author of BatteryFu, claims that JD is bloated and ended up using memory and battery - against what it's suppose to accomplish. One of the biggest battery drain is mobile connectivity. JD and BatteryFu intelligently and transparently manages this essentially enabling it when you need it and disabling it when you don't. On the Fascinate, other than switching to airplane mode, mobile data connection cannot be disabled according to Toby. So this renders those battery saver apps useless. Perhaps turning off the Background Data would slightly help but it is needed by the Android Market so you'll have to turn it on when you need to access the market. You can also try setting up multiple APN's. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this on the Fascinate. My friend has a Vibrant and you can go to SETTINGS -> MOBILE NETWORKS -> APN. The Fascinate doesn't have APN under MOBILE NETWORKS. Maybe someone here has a workaround.

Significantly improve battery life with Battery STAMINA mode
Smartphones use a lot of power, even when you’re not actively using them. All those apps that you’ve had open are still running in the background, using unnecessary battery. Battery STAMINA mode saves you wasted battery drain by recognising when your display is off and turning off functions you don’t need, while keeping the notifications you want. As soon as you touch the screen and wake up your phone, everything is up and running again.
Get only the important notices
With Battery STAMINA mode, Wi-Fi and data traffic are disabled during standby, but you still receive incoming calls, texts, and alarms. And since everyone has different needs, you can easily customise which apps you want to receive push notifications from even in standby mode. Facebook notifications on or off? It’s up to you.

Turns off data while the phone is asleep. Anyone else think this is going to be a bit af a pointless feature? Surely the single biggest drain on any phone is the screen, background data is relatively insignificant. The other consideration is that every time you wake the phone, won't there be a suddent surge of data transfer while all the disabled apps wake up and reconnect, which will amount to the same battery drain overall?

I'm more curious as to HOW this works. The quote says that data and wifi are turned off. How then are messages and email delivered? Isn't that driven by data? If it works it sounds great but I'm skeptical .

I think that if you put any data-enabled app in the whitelist, stamina mode might not turn data connection off as it'll be needed by whitelisted apps - but that's just my guess.
AW: [Q] Stamina Mode?
Data isn't turned off, Stamina only sends all apps except whitelist to sleep. In that state the apps don't connect and decrease battery.

I reckon it's rather intuitive build in feature from Sony. Ofcourse something that you would be able to achieve through root-software, but it shows a desire from Sony to be innovative. Like guest mode on the xperia tablet s. Sony Cooked it in that rom, and now 4.2 will have it in stock Android. Could happen the same with stamina.

Exactly, that's what i mean its pretty pointless with apps like green power about!
In that respect the camera, dialer, launcher music, email app etc are pointless since multiple variants are available.
It's nothing revolutionary but kind of nice they include it nonetheless
Please elaborate your statement seems like it doesn't have any sense. Why are camera, dialer, launcher music, email app pointless? And whats with multiple variants? And what does that got to do with stamina mode? Then why nothing revolutionary? I don't see any phone having that feature at all.

yeah for sure, I guess most people will.
I for one rather have a 720p low power display than a 1080p display. Since most people don't see the difference I'm wondering how many phone generations it will last. ppi seems a bit like the old mhz en MP races.
Please, can you recommend me any app that works on the same principle as a real STAMINA MODE?
Most important feature:
"Another really useful functionality, is that you can actually choose to white list your most important apps, allowing them to run in the background even when Battery STAMINA Mode is turned on. This way you will get notifications even when your phone rests in your bag or pocket. This is handy if you still want to be able to receive instant messages or IP calls at any time."
I found many apps in Play Store, but the problem is that they have a "WHITE LIST" feature, but this works on another pronciple - see below.
It does NOT stop any app and background data when the white-listed app is running. .
DOES GREENPOWER PREMIUM SUPPORT THIS?
Stop all backround data, stop all other apps and keep only 2 my white-listed apps running (chat + notes)

Hello,
I have encountered this problem for a few weeks now (depends on what ROM I am on). I am on Carbon ROM as of now but the problem is that my music stops playing and sometimes when I press the play button once again it doesn't play until 1 minute or doesn't even play again. When on speaker I do not encounter this problem. I rely on music during my ride to school due to being on the bus for 40 - 50 minutes and I also skateboard therefore, I really need music to play, this really annoys me. I love KitKat and don't want to revert back to stock. Someone please help me!

That's the one problem I can't test; my headphone jack doesn't work. Bluetooth works just fine, at least with Sync and to my PC.
Are you using the rom's music player or an aftermarket one? And if you know how, can you post a catlog and a dmesg? Those will give us an idea of what's up.
40 50 minutes. That sucks and I feel your pain. That's how long my bus ride was, but only because the high schoolers were next to last....something about getting the little kids off first. Didn't matter, I just walked since that was only 20 minutes. The worst part was that going to a store took 20 minutes, so if I needed something it took the same amount of time either way. Didn't skateboard or ride a bike cause they always got in the way going to places and parties after school.
I am using play music, I have installed many other music players but still encounter the same problem. How do I post a catlog and dmesg? Is it hard?
Yeah it sucks, specially when I skateboard I rely on my music to pump me up, I live in a rural area. We have middle schoolers in my bus so its more time. I live on the border of Washington and oregon. I can't go to Oregon school due to living in Washington ._.
Sent from my ATRIX HD using xda app-developers app
That sucks being on the border, until you're 21 at least, then that's a really good location for that area of the country. My long ride was close to yours in that it was because of transfers at other schools in the district (the tease was the bus went within a block of my school on the way to another one for more pickups).
For a logcat, either use the app Catlog (search Play) or have the SDK setup on your pc and run "adb logcat > C:\logcat.txt" and upload that text file. Dmesg is the same as logcat only the command is "adb shell dmesg > C:\dmesg.txt"
Both of those can also be done on the phone (as root) with
Code:
logcat > /mnt/sdcard/0/logcat.txt
dmesg > /mnt/sdcard/0/dmesg.txt
I tried to make the phone ones easy to copy/paste on mobile. Those are also for JB 4.2 roms and up. If you're on stock or 4.1.2 and under then remove the "/0" directory -- /mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt.
I had an issue like that but the problem was my headphones. I noticed that if I moved the jack in a certain way, it would stop playing music. Other thing that you can do is backup your system and flash again, maybe that can fix the annoying issue.

That's how my headphone jack going out started. If any jack was plugged into it, any jack, the jack would need to be tweaked a bit for full stereo sound. Eventually that didn't work and now I don't have any sound at all from there, all I can do is BT audio now .
Interestingly enough, my Moto Bravo has the exact same problem, only the jack still works. I have an aluminum fence tie with just the right bends so it clips to my phone and tweaks my jack to the right position. See below

I can not fund dmesg.txt in /mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt , I can simply try it on my aunts PC since I don't have one myself. I'm at school therefore, I will post it around 5-6 pacific time.

Try /storage/emulated/legacy for internal and /storage/sdcard/1 for the external, both for kitkat/jb42+. I'm not positive what other links the stock roms were using because I don't use them all that much.
i have similar problem with play music on CM11
if i turn the screen off while playing music the phone will shut down.

Now all we need is that unlocked bootloader.
After speaking with ZTE customer support, I was told that they would not officially offer any type of unlocked Bootloader. Also, they made it clear that the Bootloader is to remain inaccessible on the A1P
So far the new patch has been working really good.... Also the battery life has improved

Just got the update notification on my A1P and when I try to complete the update, it tells me "system update failure - package mismatch". Anyone else experiencing this?

Gave that a shot and it didn't work. I just noticed as well the update I'm attempting to download is 96mb, not 7mb as noted by the original poster. Would this be the original b25 update?
Unfortunately I can't post a screenshot, as I'm newly registered. When the update fails, the screen gives me a "status - 8 package mismatch" error before booting and then forces a reboot. Once rebooted and I check on the system update tab, it tells me "unable to update - package mismatch 403". Love the feel of this phone, but a bit frusturated that 2 days into owning it, it's already giving me issues.

Yes the 96mb is the first updated that came out last week.
I would suggest calling ZTE customer support as they have been very quick and helpful to me.
The Customer Axon Support Line: 800-617-5065 (this is the USA number)
Also another way to get there attention is to post and tag them on Twitter @axonPhone they monitor their twitter feed closely.

i am having poor GSM signals on my device, and secondly the recent apps take like 2 to 3 seconds if i press the kill all button
any one else has same issue?
i alsi noticed that the screen is a bit peeling out from the bottom left side :/
GPS issues with this phone. Neither Waze or Google maps are working properly. My old Lg Leon cheap ass phone worked much better when it came to positioning.
Second: Speaker on the phone is not working. Can't use it on loud speaker only holding it by my ear.
Third: Headphones (JBL came in box) don't work well. Mic doesn't work, music stops by itself as if I pressed pause button. Weird experience. Expected more.
Does anybody else have the same problems?

Just to update, I spoke with Ashley at ZTE about this issue. Apparently, they had another 1-2 devices with the same issue as mine, but otherwise nothing. They're sending me a new device, as they had no other solution. All and all I'm pleased with their service. Everytime I've called, they've picked up right away and been helpful. Hopefully the new device doesn't have the same issue as mine regarding the update.

I am glad that they were able to help!!! So far the only issue I had was a charging issue but it was resolved when they pushed out the latest patch.
With Customer Support like this I am really surprised that anyone is saying that ZTE support is not up to par.....
Mirror, comic Warm... etc ,,,, cant work with front cam
guys, I just noticed a problem with this new update (B25) when I record a video with Mirror, comic Warm... etc by the front camera, it saves the video but with sound and a pic.... no video playing!!!! ..... before the update it was working well. .... can you just try to record a video and let me know if it's only me.... and if you have any solution I would like to hear it
This has been driving my nuts, because wireless charging stand and pad receiver I bought have been constantly disconnecting/reconnecting, while the phone is on the charging stand. And each time disconnect/reconnect occurs, the phone makes annoying loud sounds, which cannot be muted, unless you put the phone in the Silent mode, which disables other sounds I dont want to disable. I finally found where those damn audio files are, so I could eradicate them from my phone:
Code:
\system\priv-app\MiuiSystemUI.apk\res\raw\
the two .ogg files inside the apk in that folder are responsible for my and might co-workers, who have to listen to my phone, nightmares. I tried replacing those files with blanks using APK editor. When I did that, the phone just started making a different sound from those 2, identical this time for both connect/disconnect events, but no less annoying and also loud.
Does anybody know of some sort of build.prop hack to disable charger connected/disconnected sounds, or a Xposed module, which can do the job? As far as I've researched, there is no native setting on MIUI phones for that, vanilla marshmallow roms do have it. TIA.

had similar problems early on. solved with xposed module MIUI 8 Tweaks pro version
go to the Power tab
power connection behavior (i use these settings below)
on connection to charger - no system sound, keep sleeping
on disconnect - no system sound, keep sleeping (this one is important as yes, for some reason it disconnects randomly in the night and the phone screen would light up)
additionally, i wanted my led to not flash during certain hours. i used to do this with the xposed gravitybox module, but that is only to work with vanilla android. for some reason it also works to stop the led controls in miui during my quiet hours. now i am happy, when i go to bed i put the phone on the wireless charging stand and it stays completely silent with the display off till i wake up.

Settings>Sounds & Vibration>Charging Sounds
You can disable charging sounds by turning the slider to OFF
This way you dont have to be on silent mode.

What ROM are you on?
I'm running the stock EU ROM by xiaomi.eu, which is basically stock MIUI minus Chinese bloatware and pre-installed GAPPS.

I don't think this is a feature specific to the EU ROM because I have a few other devices running MIUI and this option exists in the stock Global ROM on these devices as well.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. Screen not turning on each time charging starts/stops is just a bonus - I was only looking to disable sounds! And it actually doesnt even require the pro version of MIUI 8 Tweaks - regular one can set those settings just fine

If wireless charging keeps disconnecting\reconnecting frequently, you should be more worried about THIS rather than the sounds\notifications as this could potentially strain\wear the battery\charging circuitry.
Its comparable to having an instable circuit\loose connection which could heat up\spark out eventually.

It doesn't exist on stock 8.0.12 MIUI rom. Trust me - I'm not blind, and if it was there I would have found it. if not after hours of googling then after your post for sure. I am aware the option exists in vanilla marshmallow and some other roms - I've said so in my original post. It doesnt really help to know that. Knives of ice's advice did the trick, so I'm good now, but there is no native setting for it.

The 1000+ amazon reviewers for both, the quick wireless charging stand I use, and the wireless charging receiver sticker I use, who gave near 5 star rating to both, don't seem to be worried about it, so at this point neither am I. As far as heating up goes - I use Ampere app and closely monitor phone/battery temperature - it hardly ever gets over 42 C.

I see. I wasn't implying that your information was incorrect. I apologize if you felt so. All I was trying to say was that the feature exists on a few of my other Xiaomi devices that ship with the Official MIUI Global ROM.
I wonder why they removed it on the Mix. Anyway this is new information for me as I haven't tried the Official ROM as I mentioned earlier.
So that's one more reason for me to stay away from the official builds. Happy on EU.
Good to know that your issue is resolved!
Cheers!

Again, was not implying that your chargers are bad. Just saying, you may want to check why it keeps disconnecting\reconnecting frequently and what may be causing this to happen.
It could be a case interfering\a faulty (not poor quality) charger or even a bug in the ROM itself.
If you do find the source of the problem, this would be really helpful.
Even I've ordered a wireless charging receiver + Stand and they are on the way. So any information that you may find on the cause of the problem would be helpful to me and many others.
Cheers!
