Camera issue is hard to solve, because it's need a libraries from ARM (or Qualcom), if you want they release libraries soon, read this thread and sign in the petition

Hi everyone
Anyone know how many custom ROM with good quality+stable for SGM S5570 ?
All I know only CM7(tried a lot and its satisfying enough) and some unoficial version of it(still not tried yet).
Someone know any better than CM7?
andro-id by same develoepr as CM 7.1 (tj_style).
parasmi's (Hope I got the spelling correct) emanoN rom - which is simple stripped down version of the stock ROM.
miui rom for galaxy mini
Can someone port miui rom on galaxy mini?

Never tried. Besides isn't it for Samsung Galaxy S and S II? If there any info about MIUI released for SGM please tell me.

Porting MIUI to the mini is almost impossible because MIUI is made for ARMv7 processors and the mini has an ARMv6, also I think MIUI is closed source, which means that you'll need to reverse engineer it first before porting it

I have tried all of SGM unofficial ROM. And I love minimodX ROM by r33p. Now, im still using this rom.
I just take the benefit from install unoffc. Rom, easy to root and can make internal memory freely. And i choose minimodX because have no bug.

That makes sense why I never heard any MIUI released for Galaxy Mini. But I heard (or rather misheard) its about to released for SGA. Is it true?

If that's true, we will try to porting to SGM, but if it's fake, we dont know we can port it, because MIUI rom is compile for arm7 not arm6, and we have to try port MIUI from SGS, some apk we have modify to mdpi support, but not working, need recompile library that support for SGM
Nuswan rom
Now, u can trying this ROM...

news: CM7 and ICS will be avaliable soon.
Just hoping..
where is cm9 ? i ony see aosp v4.0.3 :/
Huh?
CyanogenMod actually IS AOSP with, well, CyanogenMod specific additions/alterations and device specific ports.
i know but cyanogenmod is beter
aosp is base for all modS for android
So what are you trying to say n1k0? Hmm maybe you should check out CM website, because they post updates there.
One thing:
WHEN IT IS NOT RELEASE YET, IT MEANS ITS NOT READY YET.
Maybe you can tell me the vice versa?

In what hindsight? Just because of the ROM Manager (over which I would prefer CWM anytime)?
If the ongoing effort to port ICS to the X8 is based on the vanilla AOSP ICS source tree I think it shouldn't make much of a difference. I can't think of any "killer feature" CM9 contains that might be amiss.
In all honesty, the devs working on the X8 port will have to cut out a whole lot of functionality to make it fit into the little RAM of the X8 and to make it somewhat usable (in terms of speed). If you look at the intended target devices / hardware recommendations of ICS the X8 (and phones having a similar hardware spec) is clearly not that suited to run it.
Anyway, I don't really care if it will be a AOSP based build or a CM9 based build as the only thing that really counts is to make it fit to the hardware of the X8 - and that's the hardest part to make everything work as neither AOSP nor CM9 contain fitting camera libs or sound libs, for a start.
Hi! I just want to know, whether the ICS ported to our phones still have DSP Manager? I love that very much...
Sent from my W8 using Tapatalk
muisc fx is like dsp manager but stil bagly :/
i trY to say ....cm Team tell use they relase cm9 verion yestrday
How do I make DSP manager run on CM9 ICS v4.0.3? I'm using nAa kernel btw.
I came across this article today, read it & immediately thought "WTF is this" ??? ICS cam for froyo/GB but no cam for @maclaws ICS port ?
How is it possible to get that feckin cam on froyo/GB but not for actual ICS port ?
Goddamn ICS+ cam is now available on Google Play (rub some salt in the wound anyone ?)...
What say the devs regarding this new developement ?

@ReaperXL2
you need to check some facts
dev used ICS camera stock app sources and compiled it on GB/Froyo APIs so that that "cool" looks love get to the GB/Froyo peoples
maclaw problem is comletely different as he is implementing camera on "ICS" which is definitely not easy task to do as he have to make camera driver wrapper from scratch sources
Panoramic mode works just the same on it. Just can't edit photos the way u can with ics.

Bro, I did check, but as I am not a "DEV" I did not know the true complications of trying to get ics cam working within ace/ics framework. I meant no disrespect to @maclaw & Team for their exemplary efforts & hard work.
Thank you for filling in the blanks in my knowledge base, I am now more wise with regard to our beloved ics port...
FYI : here is official quote from devs of ICS+ camera...
Quote "Camera ICS is an improved version of the official Camera app included on Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).
We have also added support for Honeycomb (Android 3.0) tablets.
--- NEW FEATURES ---
- Color effects (mono,sepia,negative,...)
- Silent mode (no shutter sound, might not work on some devices)
- Picture quality setting (low/medium/high/ultra)
- Video bitrate selection (normal/2x)
- Video stabilization on/off (only 4.0)
- 720p face effects (only 4.0)
- Panorama mode and time-lapse video on Honeycomb tablets
What's in this version:
1.0.3b

Intel x86 support
Configurable volume keys
Bugs fixed
1.0

Anybody wanting to try this cam app can grab it from my 4Shared here : http://www.4shared.com/android/fqkh3wdB/c103b_2.html
Google Play version is paid version. 4Shared version is free version (legit/not cracked)...

No camera app will work on maclaw ics port.Because its not the app that is the problem but the drivers and libs that are.And those drivers and libs are proprietary .In GB Cm7 we have them as Samsung already released GB ROM. But not for ICS since there is no Samsung support. Maclaw is trying to compile those things which is really difficult since only Samsung knows the hardware and its code.
And an app cannot run without proper drivers and libs.

Hello everyone,
I am trying to get the camera work on CM9 but it doens't work! so if anyone can help me that would be Great and one last question can we use the camera drivers from the official TAB 7.7 ICS firmware?
using also this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651530
EDIT:
First fix doesn't work
EDIT:
Trying to do the kernel work now!
EDIT:
There is no boot.img file in the official samsung rom! (4.0.4)
Decompile the 7.7 kernel, find the driver for the camera, pull that section of code, recompile the cm9 kernel with the new driver.

You don't know what you are saying man! im just trying something and you do this
I will never come back on this thread again (Galaxy Tab 8.9)
You guys are just Crazy To say im having ADHD you don't know what that means i think so im the calmest person here now
No need for that language
But lets just clear a few things up shall we......
You are going to reverse engineer (as you have no source code) about 6mb of data from the 7.7 kernel, find all the relevant parts that drive the camera and then use that to recompile the CM9 kernel to get the camera working.....
This is you whose only dev experience is taking a few apps out of a stock rom, repacking it, releasing it WITH NO CHANGELOG and then shortly after deleting the contents of your release post.

What I've just put in bold is what's really important. Sure, as long as you're willing to fix bugs the community reports because ports usually contain bugs since they are mostly not using native code.

Off coarse i will do that
I just wanna save you the trouble since it's not doable, especially not by you. Stop trying and wait for an official 8.9 ICS, only then we would be able to get the camera working.
Hello,
Our Tab devs should look at amazing work which is done by i9001 devs for getting camera work on ported ICS ROM without any camera drivers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651530
Maybe it is possible to make camera work on 8.9?

Safariking,
well, you haven't made an effort to figure out if it's possible
By the way, Safariking, I saw your post where you suggest P7230 users to flash JB ROM for P7300/P7310 despite totally different hardware. So how you can be so sure?

We currently have one developer working for our tablets since Team GalaxianSoup is absent. I think a lot of reverse engineering went to that specific job you're talking about since the same was done for the T959's (Samsung Vibrant) GPS and more. Only thing we know is the camera drivers are closed source in our tablet so we have to wait for Samsung on this one.
