Hi,
I just flashed my Note with KingDroid ICS NoteMania Edition v1.4 from the ICS rom leaked from the Taiwan version.
It took so long stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and I was thinking that it might need to reboot manually so that I removed the battery...(I was stupid)
After that, I couldn't go to recovery but still could go to download mode. However, when I connected it to my computer, there was no response at all, which means I can't use odin PC either.
I tried some many ways and finally I got it connected with my PC. I used odin PC to flash the rom I donwloaded at this website (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997) but it was still the same, stuck at "Samsung Galaxy Note N7000". Afterwards, I try the ICS Rom from Taiwan and it stuck at data.img when I flashed it via odin PC.
After doing that, I can go to recovery mode but I couldn't flash any rom or kernel on it.
I was just wondering if there is any other method that I could save my phone back or I need to send it to be fixed or repair?
Please give me some ideas and any helps will be truly appreciated!!
Try the first method again and if it sticks on Samsung logo again go Ito recovery and full wipe. This might solve the problem bro...
Don't worry I don't think your note is bricked!

Most of the bricks won't allow anything, so the fact you can get in recovery and download is good. Make sure you have drivers installed on computer and maybe try PC Odin again with download mode.

Thanks for replying. I just forgot to mention that "full wipe" was not working...it would freeze (the bar was not moving, which used to while it was normal) and went back to "Samsung Galaxy Note N7000" again.
I would like to try download mode again but is there any rom recommended or suggestion that I can save the "misbehaving" booting system back to normal?
Thanks again for any help. I truly appreciate your help.

Any ideas or suggestion that I can do for my phone? Thanks.
Hi!
I had flashed my Note with leaked version! it was from i9220 with LP1 kernel! there was not any case of bricks from that time so I didn't know that I mustn't do wipe or anything in CWM! so I wiped my Note and tried to flash back Gingerbread and my Note stopped responding! I could enter only in cmw and used redpill recovery to revive it!
So my advice would be If you could get connected with ODIN! flash abyss recovery 3.9 or FM kernel 2.0! Perform full wipe and try to flash any ROM.
then wait and pray! I tried at least 10 times before it worked for me!
Thanks for replying. Here is my silly question, how to flash abyss recovery 3.9 or FM kernel 2.0 via odin PC? I haven't done that before. (I used to use recovery mode to flash kernel.)
----
I got the answer, using PDA. Thanks.

go to download mode on your galaxy note (power+vol down+home), choose volume up; open ODIN; connect you phone via USB cable; select PDA and choose FM Note Kernel 2.0 and flash it
FM-Note kernel .tar version:
Code:
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote/kernels/FM/FM-Note-Kernel_V2.0.tar
if you flashed this successfully, try to flash abyss 3.9 kernel using CWM.
After that flash ROM through this red pill recovery (I flashed MidNote ICS-first version, because I didn't know that it had bad kernel back then, but you should flash any GB ROM)
Good Luck!
OK, now I got some progress. (thanks again for any help)
I flashed in abyss 3.9 kernel and I can do the full wipe now.
However, while I tried to flash roms, such as ROCKET-v22-LA6 or other roms I downloaded from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997), the installation took me about 30 minute to flash them in. It used to take like 5 minutes or so.
In addition, it showed some information like this,
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
And it still sticks with the log "Samsung Galaxy Note N7000".
Is there anything wrong that I did or what else I can do?

Is my Galaxy Note Bricked?!
Hi,
I have a Galaxy Note GT-N7000
ICS 4.0.4 (updated from Gingerbread)
Baseband Version: N7000XXLP1
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-I9220ZCLP1-CL131270
From my stock GB Rom, I've installed Criskelo ROM V1 before.
Then I unroot my phone to stock ICS 4.0.4.
Root ICS on it.
This is where tthe problem begins, my bluetooth can't work, S planner can't sync with my Gmail.
In Clock Work Mode recovery, I did a BIG ERROR.
Wipe data/factory reset & Wipe cache partition.
My Note went back to custom format.
After that I installed latest Abyss Note Kernel 42 CW.
Flashed it in Clock Work Mode.
My Note got stucked with black screen logo " Samsung GALAXY Note GT-N7000" when I reboot it.
When I pressed Vol Up + Home + Power Button.
It went into Clock Work Mode but it keeps blinking the page, I can't choose any options.
When I pressed Vol Down + Home + Power Button.
I can still go into download mode.
Connect Note via usb cable, can't detect my Note.
Does this means I've bricked my Note?
Can anyone pls advise me what to do?

Oh man you should NOT have done a wipe on a stock ICS. I hope you have not triggerred the eMMC bug of Samsung. More details can be found here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633943
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698977
Based on what i've read and my experience, you can try the following steps (at your own risk):
1. Download a SAFE kernal from XDA. Try HydraCore if you dont know which one to use : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863
2. Download 0din for PC 1.85
3. See if 0din is able to recognize your device (those blocks in 0din turn yellow). If yes, Follow the normal steps for flashing using 0din (use the safe kernel you downloaded)
(If you are not sure of steps to use 0din, have a look at the screenshot / steps at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 )
4. Now that you have a safe kernel you can install the rom of you choice by using CWM. Try - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716088
Let me know if the above works...there are some other procedures involving pit files as well which can be tried if the above doesnt work but i'm not too sure about that.
Your last resort will be to take the phone to Samsung service. They might have to replace the motherboard if the eMMC is corrupt. (If its under warranty dont tell them about your flashing experiments..just tell them you were doing a factory reset )
More information on safe kernels - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857556
Dear Friend,
Donot worry.
The Abyss kernel you had flashed is a touch version. Try touching and install any rom.
Or find connect to Odin and flash Hydracore kernel by G Lewarne.
If you are not able to connect to Odin
Uninstall Kies
Install Samsung ADB drivers
Plugin the note and check again.,
Enjoy. ...
Flash HydraCore kernel via ODIN..
Hi rnd0m
Thanks for yr reply.
I've followed yr instructions to use ODIN to flash HydraCore kernel.
I downloaded Standard Kernel V1 ODIN Tar.
ODIN recognised my G. Note (Yellow box : "0: [COM 5]" )
Waited for one hour, the green bar gets to about 20% only.....

Hi,
Have you flashed successfully before using Odin? Try disabling firewall / antivirus and try.
Please post screenshot / log so that we can see where exactly it got stuck.

Since I can't flash Hydracore kernel using Odin,
can I try install Criskelo ICS ROM using my External SD Card?
Before this I've Rooted ICS on Galaxy Note GT-N7000
Wipe/ facotry reset & wipe cache.
After doing that does this mean my phone is still rooted or not?

select wipe with help of volume keys and there you go out of bootloop
My Galaxy Ace is also in some sorta reboot loop.
Everything was working fine with it (phone is rooted and CWM installed) until I did a phone reset because I was giving the phone to my gf. After doing this the phone reboots, the blue samsung logo plays (without sound) and then repeats ad-infinitum. I can get into recovery mode and download mode ok and I've tried wipe and even restored a CWM backup (it says it was successful) but the phone just keeps rebooting. I can see the phone in odin but I've never tried to flash anything onto it and quite frankly I'm unsure whether it would just make things worse (if it needs to go back to Samsung for repair). Any help would be appreciated...
If you have cwm ..why dont you download some custom rom like cm7and flash it ..that would bring your phone back to life ...then you can downgrade to stock rom if you want ...and btw in cwm try cache partition , clear data /factory reset and clear dalvik cache ..see if it boots after you do this ..

when i always flash by odin or by cwm i always do wipe , wipe cache and wipe dalvik, this helps me everytime
I managed to flash a firmware from samfirmware and it fixed the reboot.
Now my issue is when I connect to Kies, it says there's an updated firmware for the phone but it fails every attempt to install it. I went back to samfirmware and found this firmware: S5830ZSKPD ## but when I download and extract it there's only 1 x MD5 file and 1 x DLL file?! The other firmware had the 4 or 5 files needed to include in Odin... any ideas guys?
I think its a "one package file " ..I forgot the correct name but there is some option like that in odin ..dont worry it contains all the required files ..and if you are scared to do it then go to you tube ..there are many tutorials showing it then...

Thanks anyway but I managed to find the firmware online and flashed it using Odin.
Now Kies says I'm using the latest which is a good start : )
Now I just need to find a way to root my SGS2 GT-I9100T
U can try a custom ROM from the Developer's forums here.
I also once stucked in the Reboot Loop..............
But then I installed a custom or if you want features from a official Rom, you can install Stock Based custom ROm from the Developer forums of Galaxy Ace. Really good Rom have been made by the developers
In the chance that someone else is looking for this latest OEM firmware update:
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPC (THL)
It can be downloaded from: http://translate.googleusercontent....flgljh&usg=ALkJrhiMpHV83dugh4RGwhKpyjIrYIgn2Q
It is in "one part file" format and can be flashed using Odin.
whatever may be the problem ......just rem to keep a backup of ur previously used rom and just flash it with cwm...
Progress?

Hi,
I came from an LG 2x, so I thought rooting my device in order to have some extra authorizations was no big deal. I first tried with pc software Unlockroot, but it failed in the process.
Being my GB 236 Note quite dirty I wanted to do some extra backup and cleanup. So I googled and stopped at rootyourgalaxynote.com, I tried the first ROOT method, not working, I tried the second method with pc ODIN 3.04 and abyss kernel 42, ODIN says it worked, note reboots but it stops at Samsung galaxy Note Gt-N7000 with yellow triangle. shocked, I didnt really expect that! After reading a little bit else, I went to sammobile downloaded italian gb 236 stock (the version I had befor kernel flashing) and tried to flash with PC Odin. It Failed. Device still gets in download mode. But now I'm seriously worried. What can I do?
[UPDATE]: I tried using Odin 1.85 and the same gb 236 stock rom but it stops half the factoryfs.img flashing...please explain me what's happening. I don't really want to bring it in assistance and lose my warranty

First you should t have flash abyss through odin since now you are not rooted and do t have the warranty too, the counter of flashes increased to 1 (look at the download mode small text), for rooting you can use chainfire's tool (in the cf-root kernel thread look for it in devolepment section) next get a stock rooted kernel and flash using the tool (read instructions).
For now use pc odin 1.87 and get a firmware 2.3.6 use the pc odin select the file on PDA and flash it, make sure phone is charged 100% and press start, if it doesn't work then uninstall drivers, reboot machine, reinstall them and kill kies process if present in task manager and then goto download mode connect USB and open pc odin wait for the port to be ready aka green and select file then start.... you should be fine its a soft brick afterall.

Yeah I know atm I don't have system nor root nor warranty.
I tried odin 1.87 with the stock rom from sammobile but at one point or another is it cache.img or factoryfs.img, it fails (I also uninstalled kies and drivers and reinstalled them, i also tried installing only drivers, for at&at note, but it doesn't let me). I'm gonna download another stock rom, I just hope in some way I soon solve the thing, given that I also don't know how much charge is left and if the phone still gets charged. it just displays an idle circle near an empty battery when connected to pc or A\C cable.

When connected to charger make sure phone is off the battery meter will show as soon as you connect, case it doesnt leave it for like 3 hours is fine... next about that ROM redownload. The package cleanup you temp directories in PC and try again if still goto recovery abyss I guess? Wipe everything and use the mount option and format partitions I would recommed you to have repartition but I dont have the file you can look for ot in forum its. PIT file download fireup odin select it in PIT section and see if repartitioning is shocked, of so select firmware as PDA and flash again.

Thx. I was starting to fear it could be sth more than a soft brick. Can the initial use of unlockroot have caused anything (at least a week ago, Note still working after that)?
Sorry but I really can't understand what procedure should I follow since these initial attempts at flashing stocks failed. Should I try to flash CWM? What is the ISS root section (is it in the forum)? Where can i do a normal recovery wipe from? CWM I guess..

If you have the stock recovery, restore default wipes everything.
If you have stock re every and want CWM temporary just to wipe goto n7000 devolepment and check how to root by dr.ketan and get files there
If you have CWM then wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik.... and try. Old download another firmware like kk5.... something else not the new LC1 LX1 releases.... (Latest GB) get an old one to get root easly

i already install the HydraCore but still nothing happen, it takes 5mins to boot in " Samsung Galaxy Note n7000" and "Samsung".
Baseband still Unknown
Keyboard still the same,
have you done a factory reset ? If still the same after that,
go to samfirmware.com and download the rom. You current is XXLRQ .. but you can download the latest XXLRT.
Open odin and select the tar.md5 file in PDA
put the phone in download mode and connect to pc.
Start to Flash and let the phone reboot atuomatically.
This will not remove your apps or data but will install all Stock apps again

im having a hard time on understanding this "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997" i dont know where to start
Did you download the firmware from the above thread?.. if yes unzip it and you will get a tar.md5 file. also go to philz thread and download a kernel that is same as the rom you downloaded. put the kernel in the external SD keep the rom file on PC.
now boot into download mode. ( vol dwm + pwr + home till you see N7000 logo and release). you will enter a screen asking for vol up to confirm,. press vol up
open odin on pc and connect the phone to it. the box on the left will show yellow. click on the PDA tab and navigate to the rom file. dont tick anything else other than default what is there, press start and wait for it to finish. phone will autoboot . now check if the phone is working fine or not. ... reply back for more TS
I was trying to install Ultimate_N7000_LSC_JB_4.1.2_v5.1 on non-rooted device.
After booting into Recovery and installing CWM, i tried Data wipe/Factory reset.
(Battery was 100%)
The screen switched of suddenly and now i am stuck.
Here are somethings i have tried:
1) Tried flashing N7000DDLRB_N7000ODDLR4_N7000DDLR1_HOME.tar.md5 using ODIN. Never goes beyond NAND flashing (Tried in Admin mode, with ODIN Mode)
2) Tried flashing cm-9.1.0-n7000 and had status 0 and status 7 error many times.
Most of the flashing methods mention : "wipe data/Factory reset". Whenever i do that, i get stuck in "Wiping Data... .Formatting /data"
I have tried "Fix permissions", it wont work.
I didnt take a ROM backup and now i really regret it.
Currently when i navigate using CWM i can see all my internal as well as external memory files. So, i guess my OS is gone and files are still there.
The Custom Rom Counter says: Yes (Count 4) in ODIN mode.
Can someone help ? Please i am desperate.
What rom you on before flashing?..GB or ICS?

ICS 4.0.4
I had not done any Modifications, rooting to my N7000 before yesterday.
Would like to go back to Any ROM.
Unrooted ROM (ICS 4.0.4), Leaked JB Rom, CM9, CM10. Any ROM. Just want to get my phone up and running
What error do you get when flashing with Odin?
Does it stop at "factoryfs.img"?
How did you install CSM on your stock Rom ICS 4.0.4?
Your "soft bricked" sounds more like "super bricked" to me.. Did you use CWM.zip to wipe?
Tapatalking on my n7000
Yes. I used CWM.zip.
But now that my phone is not working, how do know what is the firmware version?
Can you tell me the exact file names i should use
PDA: CODE_N7000xxxxx_CL627135_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.m d5
PHONE: MODEM_N7000xxxxx_REV_05_CL1067428.tar.md5
CSC: GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-Oxxxxx.tar.md5
What does xxxx stand for? I have the Serial No. of my phone. And have done normal OTA updates only.
Brought from flipkart in August (if it helps narrow down the xxxx)
Superbricked or soft, please help.
Just downloaded some CWM file (Sorry i searched a lot, i couldnt remember the source)
Here are the steps:
Flash it with Odin 1.85, (Click PDA, choose the file and press Start)
After this you will have Root on your phone.
Now you can go into CWM and flash the Rom.
1) Download Ultimate XXLSC Jelly Bean 4.1.2 custom ROM for Galaxy Note to the PC
2) Connect the device to PC using USB cable and transfer the downloaded ROM zip file to the phone's SD card
3) Unplug the USB cable from the phone and then turn it off
4) Enter into Recovery mode by switching on the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together
5) In CWM Recovery, perform a full data wipe
Here is where it suddenly stopped and the screen went blank. (I am double sure battery was 100%)
Thanks for the prompt replies

In ODIN it gets stuck in "NAND write start"

If you have warranty then claim it.. Super brick means that the emmc chip it's burned.. There's some methods to get it to partially work but you lose around 3Gb of memory and generally you can not use TW roms.. Or at least stock TW.. Not to mention the random reboots and freezes..
So most likely if you don't have warranty then use the pit file method or pay for a motherboard replacement..
Tapatalking on my n7000
Thanks for the suggestion.
I managed to flash 4.0.3 ROM and stock Kernel and it somehow worked. (did too many things)
Here's the current status: Running 4.1.2 (XXSLO, ZSLM5). Unrooted and stock ROM. (Updated from 4.0.3 to 4.1.2 in kies)
Everything is back. The phone runs good. But when i try installing any software, it will freeze. The apk/app installs eventually but after 2-3 reboots.
Can you tell me the issue?
I read it somewhere that the "Cache" partition is damaged.
Can someone please tell me any way to avoid freezes.

Hope you guys can help me.
Was updating my ICS (Criskelorom) to JB 4.1.2 XXLT6 ROM of Philz (PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5) via Odin 3.07. Initially had some issues but, managed to get to where Odin resulted in a PASS. On REBOOT I only get up to the Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 screen with a yellow ! triangle at the bottom. I was able to get to both Recovery and Download modes but would never get passed to homescreen and just stay on black screen.
Did it several times and got worried I'd brick my phone so I ran the ICS zip I had stored on my SD via Recovery mode and was able to get my phone running. Still want to pursue my JB upgrade though but, not sure if I was doing it right. Any help would be much appreciated guys.
Here is what I did...
MADE SURE OF THE FF.:
1) Install USB driver for Samsung Galaxy Note to transfer files between the phone and the computer using download of KIES from Samsung site
2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone to connect the Android device with the computer
3) created a back-up of my contacts only
4) charged to above 80% battery charge
5) The phone should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier - I had unlocked it during my ICS upgrade from the GB original OS
THEN FOLLOWED THE STEPS:
Step-1: Download PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 for Samsung Galaxy Note to the computer
Step-2: Download Odin 3.07 which will help to install the root package on the phone. Extract the Odin zip to get Odin3 v3.07.exe file with some other files
Step-3: Place the Galaxy Note into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot appears on the phone's screen. Now press the Volume Up button to continue to enter into Download Mode
Step-4: Run Odin3 v3.07.exe as an Administrator
Step-5: Connect the Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait for some time until Odin detects the phone. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn yellow with the COM port number. Also, the successful connection will be indicated by a message saying Added in Odin.
Note: If the Added message does not come then try another US port, try the one located at the back side of the computer. If Odin still fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver
Step-6: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 file
Step-7: Now configure the Odin settings. Ensure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. As for the Re-Partition, uncheck the option
Step-8: Once everything is set, click the Start button in Odin. The installation should begin now and would take about few minutes to complete
Step-9: When the installation process is completed the phone will restart automatically. And soon a PASS message with green background will appear in the Odin indicating successful installation. After the home screen appears on the phone, unplug the USB cable from the device to disconnect it from the computer
Was able to reach Step-9 but my phone would not get to home screen.
Please help me with any advise anyone can give me?
thanks.
By the way, saw another option for Steps 5-6:
Step-5: Connect your Note N7000 with your PC using a data cable. Once the device is successfully connected, you will see a notification in Odin in the bottom left saying Added!! - if for some reason, you do not see the said notification, try another USB port. Also, check for ID:COM port being depicted by a number in yellow to make sure that you have successfully added your device.
Select the following files in Odin at their respective tabs from extracted XXLT6 firmware folder:
Step-6:
Click the PDA button to select the .tar file extracted earlier.
Click the Phone button, and select file with *modem* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Next, click the CSC button, and select file with *csc* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Click the PIT button to select the .pit file. (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Ensure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options selected in Odin window. Also ensure to select Re-Partition checkbox only if you are using a .pit file.
Except since I only had the TAR file I ignored the rest so I assumed I was doing it right up to that point. Also, the YELLOW highlight in Odin 3.07, wasn't yellow but kind of light blue.
That was it. All I did. Still, not succesful.
Please help.
Thanks.
Phew! That's a lot to read.. The file you are trying to flash is just a kernel not a whole rom. That's why your phone after the flash has a JB kernel and ICS rom. That's why the phone does not boot. To upgrade to JB, download a stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin the same way just in PDA of Odin.

Sorry about the read. =)
Was thinking I'd rather be complete than have anyone helping need to ask more clarifications to help me. =D
Oh that's why. Thanks for the reply. I will do that.
So I need to get the WHOLE ROM from the site you mentioned. A ROM that is complete, Kernel and all. Actually I thought I did get a complete ROM. Did not realize it was just a Kernel. What would be the best way to determine if a ROM is complete? What is usually the size of the file itself? The one I downloaded was like 8MB so I thought that was pretty big. Kinda looked for awhile for that XXLT6 original JB ROM so didn't stop to think if it was just a Kernel. My bad.
By the way, are the ROMs on Sammobile rooted? Or do I need to root them?
thanks again!

They are just stock roms, to root again use the philz kernel but for jb this time. Also use the .zip this time instead of tar file, you can flash the zip file from stock recovery itself. You can raed more in philz kernel thread

Got it, thank you Sirs you've all been a very big help. I ran into some issues with TW right after completing the install of 4.1.2. Every darn thing was stopping even acore and TW. Was about to chicken out and go back to my safety ICS ROM when I got to read some stuff about needing to Clear/Reset on Recovery mode after any firmware flashing as well as Clearing the Cache so I did. And voila, it worked. I think I'll rest my worrying brain for now on the root. =P
I'll root it next week. I'll just have fun with it for now. Been up playing around with this for over 24hours now. Having too much fun but already drained.
Thank you again for you help!
same situation here...!!!
hello XDA ppl...
I had ICS 4.0.4 and attempted to use PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0.tar.md5.
That took me to the same situation I think... kernel for JB and ICS ROM...
I power on my phone and it gets to a GT-N7000 Note + Yellow Triangle screen and NO MORE!
I can get to PhilZ Recovery Mode or ODIN Download Mode.
That´s all...
I will attempt right now what you told the creator of this thread and update if it helped.
any help is welcome...
FIXED!!!
AWESOME!!!
My bot is back again!!!
Thanks a lot guys...
This thread worked as a charm. :victory:
1. Odin 3.0.X
2. Factory Firmware
3. Flash it as PDA.
4. No yellow triangle.
5. Removed battery and waited 5 seconds.
6. recovery mode.
7. clear data/factory reset.
Done!

Safest way to get to JB with wipe (that is formatting) is to get philz kernel for ICS and then reboot to recovery do factory reset and wipe /system /data /internal storage /cache and then reboot to download mode and flash JB from odin. Else if you dont want to loose data, just boot into download mode and flash JB using odin.

Yeah!! May be you want to start by not wiping on a stock ICS kernel.
