My Galaxy Ace is stuck in a reboot loop after trying to flash 2.3.6 onto it, when it had 2.3.5 on it previously.
I've used ODIN and no matter what firmware I try to flash onto it, it just goes into a reboot loop.
Any idea how to fix it?

press down home button and then power on phone ...--> you will enter into recovery mode .
select wipe with help of volume keys and there you go out of bootloop
My Galaxy Ace is also in some sorta reboot loop.
Everything was working fine with it (phone is rooted and CWM installed) until I did a phone reset because I was giving the phone to my gf. After doing this the phone reboots, the blue samsung logo plays (without sound) and then repeats ad-infinitum. I can get into recovery mode and download mode ok and I've tried wipe and even restored a CWM backup (it says it was successful) but the phone just keeps rebooting. I can see the phone in odin but I've never tried to flash anything onto it and quite frankly I'm unsure whether it would just make things worse (if it needs to go back to Samsung for repair). Any help would be appreciated...
If you have cwm ..why dont you download some custom rom like cm7and flash it ..that would bring your phone back to life ...then you can downgrade to stock rom if you want ...and btw in cwm try cache partition , clear data /factory reset and clear dalvik cache ..see if it boots after you do this ..

when i always flash by odin or by cwm i always do wipe , wipe cache and wipe dalvik, this helps me everytime
I managed to flash a firmware from samfirmware and it fixed the reboot.
Now my issue is when I connect to Kies, it says there's an updated firmware for the phone but it fails every attempt to install it. I went back to samfirmware and found this firmware: S5830ZSKPD ## but when I download and extract it there's only 1 x MD5 file and 1 x DLL file?! The other firmware had the 4 or 5 files needed to include in Odin... any ideas guys?
I think its a "one package file " ..I forgot the correct name but there is some option like that in odin ..dont worry it contains all the required files ..and if you are scared to do it then go to you tube ..there are many tutorials showing it then...

Yep, that's exactly what it was, thanks again.
Unfortunately with this firmware, Kies doesn't recognise it and provides no info.
I flashed back to the older firmware... I'll just have to keep experimenting I guess.

Well I could flash it with Odin if I had the firmware but I don't.
It appears it's not available on SamFirmware.com
Do you know where I can download the following firmware?
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPC (THL)
Thanks
Lol I cant understand those firmwares ..can you tell me which version of android you want like 2.3.4/2.3.5/2.3.6 ...then ill be able to help you wanr

Thanks anyway but I managed to find the firmware online and flashed it using Odin.
Now Kies says I'm using the latest which is a good start : )
Now I just need to find a way to root my SGS2 GT-I9100T
U can try a custom ROM from the Developer's forums here.
I also once stucked in the Reboot Loop..............
But then I installed a custom or if you want features from a official Rom, you can install Stock Based custom ROm from the Developer forums of Galaxy Ace. Really good Rom have been made by the developers
In the chance that someone else is looking for this latest OEM firmware update:
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPC (THL)
It can be downloaded from: http://translate.googleusercontent....flgljh&usg=ALkJrhiMpHV83dugh4RGwhKpyjIrYIgn2Q
It is in "one part file" format and can be flashed using Odin.
whatever may be the problem ......just rem to keep a backup of ur previously used rom and just flash it with cwm...
Progress?

download mode can be done by pressing Middle Key(HOME Key) + Power key and Volume Down Key .
Here is what you will need:
1. You might already have USB drivers for you Ace if you have Kies installed. If not, download manually from here.
2. Download Odin Multi Downloader v4.38 (Imp.- version no. is important) and the cooper_v1.0.ops file from http://www.mediafire.com/?lga31u288f6nvu2
3. Now download a firmware of your choice from samfirmware.com.
link for latest india baseband firmwre :- http://www.hotfile.com/dl/148986856/f274ebd/S5830DDKQ8_S5830ODDKQ7_INU.zip.html
4. Make sure you have the phone’s battery charged to at least 40-50%.
Now that you have everything now you need to go and set Odin.
1. On ODIN select the OPS button and load the Cooper_v1.0.ops file unto it. Ensure that the Auto-Reboot, Protect OPS and Reset Time is checked.
2. Unzip the firmware .Zip file in a folder If you get have the contents in .TAR (or .tar.md5), Check “One Package” option on the left side & skip PDA, Phone, CSC, BOOT options & directly go to ‘One Package’ option. Browse for the .tar (or .tar.md5) file & select it
3.enter into dwld mode
4.click on start
the whole process wud take arnd 5 mins.if it bootloops on restarting.enter into recovery(home + power button) n erase caches.

Maybe the downloaded file is corrupted..Try flashing another baseband FW and check it.
For flashing kernels theres a SAFE AND FREE app
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attachdl/bca6a9b5a73472139b21ff4f2d7b4722/51a03873/1/9/0/2/9/3/1/Universal_Kernel_Flash_Tool_110.apk
Install this app and open it
Select the md5 or bin files from it and flash them and restart.
There you go...its done
I dont know about downgrading to GB..never tried and not gonna try it

You can't enter recovery after flashing original fw via odin? Try taking out battery, put it back in and force recovery. Press it for a long time till it enter recovery. Then factory reset. I encountered this once on galaxy ace, endless bootloop and can't enter recovery but download is okay. Then I pressed the buttton until it somehow got into recovery. I don't know if this works but you can try though.

We do not have any JB custom kernel that is flahsable with Odin. So I suppose you flashed GB custom kernel on JB, that is your problem. Flash whole STOCK JB FW again. After that use ONLY JB kernels. CoCore 6.x for example. Only one not abandoned from updates for now.
Do this again with JB, step by step: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086965
And kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140597
Unzip it, put it on SD card, install Frapeti's universal kernel flasher. Install some ROOT explorer, this app needs it to work. Use it to install kernel.

I belive I soft bricked my i9305 when I tried to install Chainfire3D. I get stuck on the samsung logo but I can still access recovery. I did a CWM backup in Rom manager before it soft bricked but I cant access the backup from the default Recovery and I never flashed into CWM Recovery. So I wonder if I can flash CWM recovery from default recovery so I can reach my backup. Factory reset did not help, still stuck on Samsung logo. I tried flashing 2 roms but I get a error message E:Failed to verify whoe-file signature, E: signature verification failed. I can also add that I did not use Odin to root my device, I used Framaroot. I have no idea what my region number is and such so I'm not sure I can flash the stock rom ether.
Any kind of help is appreciated.

You can not flash a custom rom or a custom recovery from the default recovery, use odin to flash clockworkmod recovery.

A good idea would be for you to read the basic faqs and guides first .
ODIN and Root have nothing at all to do with entering download mode .
No download mode means you require a service centre repair .

I can not enter adb shell ether because I never had the chance to enable usb debugging. Is service center really the only way? I can still install files from default recovery.

rebooting, but got the above.
Re-flashing in Heimdall had no effect.
I then tried flashing
hardcore-speedmod-ics-recovery-n7000.tar

I looked for the latest CWM 6.0.4.3 recovery, but I cannot find any

1st things 1st. Why would u use heimdall or odin? And what is your current ROM before trying to flash CM 10.3, was it stock? You should have looked for CWM recovery or Philz safe kernels as base when doing ROM flashing ESPECIALLY custom roms. From what you said, then can you still boot into download mode? I have no knowledge of heimdall so just download Stock Firmware, flash it with odin and see if you can boot your N7000 first.
The worst case scenarios is you are experiencing emmc bug-brick. go to the thread and read carefully to deduce your type of 'brick' and find solutions there. Good Luck.
I was on a stock 4.0.4 (but rooted). I originally tried flashing the cwm from the sd card, but after starting to load it it also just hung,
so I looked for an alternative..
I found a post on stockroms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997) but the links all point to hotfile.com. which my browser says it cannot find. is hotfile dead? Is there an alternative?

I'm sorry so did u succeed or did you not succeed in installing the custom rom? If your custom rom boots fine then all u need is to search for solving status 7 error thread. My advice to all noobs is to always try n avoid installimg anything except stock rom in odin. Always read and re read before flashing anything that's beyond your knowledge. Basic knowledge of flashing cusroms is :
1. ALWAYS make sure you're on SAFE and COMPATIBLE KERNEL. Most rom threads ALWAYS Include threads/links to a specific recovery/kernel to use. Read n RE READ that.
2. Wipe everything IN RECOVERY mode before flashing a rom.

Go to sammymobile.com if I'm not wrong. Download the stock firmware there. Rooted but do u have cwm installed? Rooted doesn't mean you have cwm installed.

If you're able to boot up properly n prompted to wipe, then do it. But do it in recovery not on device.
Ok, I downloaded one of the stock kernels for my internatinal N7000, but flashing that with Odin 3.185 hangs about 3/4 through (has now been
sitting there for >60 mins).
Looks like I am screwed?
The file I found is KIES_HOME_N7000XXLT4_N7000OXALT4_1103517_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I f I wanted to try flashing this with Heimdall, I'd need to know partition numbers I think
Where can I get those?
Or should I get another file?

Before that, do u have KIES installed? KIES is NOT compatible with odin and will cause potential trouble. So is some firewall and antivirus apps. You need to disable all of them before using odin. Please search the thread http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for stock rom site.

Ok. I downloaded two stock roms from sammobile:
[email protected] 1 mathias staff 808649674 May 9 10:53 N7000XXLT5_N7000MBCLT1_MBC.zip
[email protected] 1 mathias staff 750466356 May 9 10:50 N7000XXLRL_N7000OXELR5_MBC.zip
but both fail with some (unreadable, apparently character set issue) error under ODIN.
I found this:
http://droidangel.blogspot.sg/2012/01/samsung-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-all.html
which shows how to do a full flash , including PIT file, but the links again go to hotfile which seems to be down.
http://hotfile.com/dl/140099962/b9e0d63/Q1-20110914_16GB.pit.rar.html
Where can I get a) separate
CODE_N7000xxxxx_CLxxxxxxx_REVxx_user_low_ship.tar.md5
MODEM_N7000xxxxxx_REV_00_CLxxxxxx.tar.md5
GT-N7000-CSC-MULTI-xxxxxx.tar.md5
and the PIT file?

Of course you fail... When using ODIN, U should have downloaded the .tar. if you downloaded a zip. then unzip it first to get the tar file, then you flash it with odin. All requests are included in the stock.tar And PLEASE DO NOT Play with PIT files if you don't know what you are doing.
So now what you need to do is. :
1. DISABLE KIES (Uninstall it better), Your firewall, antivirus.
2. Install CORRECT Samsung USB driver. (Search keyword "download samsung N7000 usb drivers")
3. Unzip your zip file and extract the tar.file.
4. Run ODIN as Administrator (Right click/run as)
5. Go to download mode. connect your device to Pc/laptop.
6. Wait until Odin detects your device, click AP/PDA and choose the tar file you extracted.
7. DO NOT tick partition.
8. Let it run
Of course I unzipped the zip to get a SINGLE .tar.md5, but flashing that fails on factoryfs about 3/4 through. consistently.

Try updating your odin. Use the newest vers. And try and read this https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...ds-cse&usg=AFQjCNGd2e3iG5hkDeo0KyAjGuCSfQSLUw . If All fails then it's a confirmed SUPER-BRICK and there's nothing except samsung service centre can help you now... Sorry for not being able to help more..
Thanks. That led me to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656635
where I found the PIT file, but for ROMs pointed to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530501
which again points to hotfile and fileserve.com , which (besides being under maintenance) says
FileServe can only be used to download and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.
which makes it useless for finding ROMs...

i believe my phone is bricked and im struggling to get it opperational. Here is what happened...
I have a GT-N7000 on 4. 1. 2 Jelly Bean, which i rooted and flashed to custom ROM CynoganenMod 12 on 5. 0 Lollipop. All was going fine, i rooted my phone, installation went accordingly. After a week or so whithout any problems, my phone started to freez, slag and hang which it never did before, so i decided to flash it back on 4. 1. 2 Jelly Bean I did all as is step by step on Odin 3.-v1.8. When my booted, it booted into System Recovery...
reboot system now (I did)
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage (I did)
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partion
apply update from cache
-----------------------------------------------
# MANUAL MODE #

Nothing seems to work, so when i pull out the battery but it back and press "Volume down, Menu and Power button it takes me to the screen with the Warning and yellow triangle where i can install a custom ROM...
Volume up : Continue
Volume down : Cancel ( restart ) (I did)
When i Volume up it takes me to...

My problem is i have no clue what my PDA nor my CSC code is. Im from South Africa and not sure either which of these are correct.... XFV, XFC, XFM, XFA (im not network locked) so i dont know which firmware to flash with Odin to make my phone opperational again? Any help please guys.
Johan
Download Philz kernel in tar.md5 format and flash using Odin... Then try to boot into recovery. You should see cwm. Factory reset and flash a stock rom again.

I have tried Phillz and did as you suggested. Im confident that i dont have the correct firmware. I downloaded this from Sammobile : N7000XXLSZ_N7000OJVLSB_N7000LSO_HOME.tar.md5.
Not sure how to go about this....
Doesn't matter what firmware you had.. Once you do a factory reset you can flash any rom made for the n7000
Were you able to get into Philz cwm recovery after you flashed the kernel?
Hi there.
I am happy to report that my phone is back to its original state. Phew, that wat too close for comfort.
I figured that it was obivously bricked or something close to it.
The problem was that i repartitioned it with the wrong PIT file and wrong kernel. Why i did that, i dont know? So i found firmware i thought would be the correct one! In its bricked state i copied the file superuser to my external, so can unzipit in CWM recovery. I download a file flashprogram Samsung N7000 +Pit. I then unzipped it and found the .Pit file which i flashed onOdin3 v1.85 at the same time with the firmware, have it repartitioned, and install the firmware.
It passed with success. Go Green!!! )
It booted to Philz recovery and installed the zip file superuser, took your advice then rebooted.
My phone switched on but a page came up where i had to give a password decrypting the device storage. Freaked out repeated the same prosesswith Odin and it started up normaly and suprised to see it restored to its original state* *smile*
*Just be carefull not to go flash the wrong stuff on your phone if your not sure what you are doing ( like i did! )*
I took your advice to heart and want to thank you for your expertieze. I learned alot from my phone the past 3days.
Regards.Johan
