I tried upgrading my international N7000 to CM10.3 following the instructions in

but now the phone won't even boot into the recovery, all it shows is
Samsung
GALAXY Note
GT-N7000

When i tried flashin from my Mac iusing Heimdall,
the download finished on the mac, but on the N7000
it still showed the blue line etc. I waited a lng time and tried
rebooting, but got the above.
Re-flashing in Heimdall had no effect.
I then tried flashing
hardcore-speedmod-ics-recovery-n7000.tar
using Odin 3.185 from my VMwars Fusion XP install,
and that seemed to finish ok, but no luck either.
I looked for the latest CWM 6.0.4.3 recovery, but I cannot find any
odin-flashable format for it, and of course I cannot use the sdcard
as I cannot even boot into any recovery as is.
Can anyone suggest next steps?

1st things 1st. Why would u use heimdall or odin? And what is your current ROM before trying to flash CM 10.3, was it stock? You should have looked for CWM recovery or Philz safe kernels as base when doing ROM flashing ESPECIALLY custom roms. From what you said, then can you still boot into download mode? I have no knowledge of heimdall so just download Stock Firmware, flash it with odin and see if you can boot your N7000 first.
The worst case scenarios is you are experiencing emmc bug-brick. go to the thread and read carefully to deduce your type of 'brick' and find solutions there. Good Luck.
I was on a stock 4.0.4 (but rooted). I originally tried flashing the cwm from the sd card, but after starting to load it it also just hung,
so I looked for an alternative..
I found a post on stockroms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997) but the links all point to hotfile.com. which my browser says it cannot find. is hotfile dead? Is there an alternative?

I'm sorry so did u succeed or did you not succeed in installing the custom rom? If your custom rom boots fine then all u need is to search for solving status 7 error thread. My advice to all noobs is to always try n avoid installimg anything except stock rom in odin. Always read and re read before flashing anything that's beyond your knowledge. Basic knowledge of flashing cusroms is :
1. ALWAYS make sure you're on SAFE and COMPATIBLE KERNEL. Most rom threads ALWAYS Include threads/links to a specific recovery/kernel to use. Read n RE READ that.
2. Wipe everything IN RECOVERY mode before flashing a rom.

If you're able to boot up properly n prompted to wipe, then do it. But do it in recovery not on device.
Ok, I downloaded one of the stock kernels for my internatinal N7000, but flashing that with Odin 3.185 hangs about 3/4 through (has now been
sitting there for >60 mins).
Looks like I am screwed?
The file I found is KIES_HOME_N7000XXLT4_N7000OXALT4_1103517_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I f I wanted to try flashing this with Heimdall, I'd need to know partition numbers I think
Where can I get those?
Or should I get another file?

Before that, do u have KIES installed? KIES is NOT compatible with odin and will cause potential trouble. So is some firewall and antivirus apps. You need to disable all of them before using odin. Please search the thread http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for stock rom site.

Ok. I downloaded two stock roms from sammobile:

[email protected] 1 mathias staff 750466356 May 9 10:50 N7000XXLRL_N7000OXELR5_MBC.zip
but both fail with some (unreadable, apparently character set issue) error under ODIN.
I found this:
http://droidangel.blogspot.sg/2012/01/samsung-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-all.html
which shows how to do a full flash , including PIT file, but the links again go to hotfile which seems to be down.

Of course you fail... When using ODIN, U should have downloaded the .tar. if you downloaded a zip. then unzip it first to get the tar file, then you flash it with odin. All requests are included in the stock.tar And PLEASE DO NOT Play with PIT files if you don't know what you are doing.
So now what you need to do is. :
1. DISABLE KIES (Uninstall it better), Your firewall, antivirus.
2. Install CORRECT Samsung USB driver. (Search keyword "download samsung N7000 usb drivers")
3. Unzip your zip file and extract the tar.file.
4. Run ODIN as Administrator (Right click/run as)
5. Go to download mode. connect your device to Pc/laptop.
6. Wait until Odin detects your device, click AP/PDA and choose the tar file you extracted.
7. DO NOT tick partition.
8. Let it run
Of course I unzipped the zip to get a SINGLE .tar.md5, but flashing that fails on factoryfs about 3/4 through. consistently.

My Galaxy Ace is stuck in a reboot loop after trying to flash 2.3.6 onto it, when it had 2.3.5 on it previously.

press down home button and then power on phone ...--> you will enter into recovery mode .
select wipe with help of volume keys and there you go out of bootloop
My Galaxy Ace is also in some sorta reboot loop.
Everything was working fine with it (phone is rooted and CWM installed) until I did a phone reset because I was giving the phone to my gf. After doing this the phone reboots, the blue samsung logo plays (without sound) and then repeats ad-infinitum. I can get into recovery mode and download mode ok and I've tried wipe and even restored a CWM backup (it says it was successful) but the phone just keeps rebooting. I can see the phone in odin but I've never tried to flash anything onto it and quite frankly I'm unsure whether it would just make things worse (if it needs to go back to Samsung for repair). Any help would be appreciated...
If you have cwm ..why dont you download some custom rom like cm7and flash it ..that would bring your phone back to life ...then you can downgrade to stock rom if you want ...and btw in cwm try cache partition , clear data /factory reset and clear dalvik cache ..see if it boots after you do this ..

I managed to flash a firmware from samfirmware and it fixed the reboot.
Now my issue is when I connect to Kies, it says there's an updated firmware for the phone but it fails every attempt to install it. I went back to samfirmware and found this firmware: S5830ZSKPD ## but when I download and extract it there's only 1 x MD5 file and 1 x DLL file?! The other firmware had the 4 or 5 files needed to include in Odin... any ideas guys?
I think its a "one package file " ..I forgot the correct name but there is some option like that in odin ..dont worry it contains all the required files ..and if you are scared to do it then go to you tube ..there are many tutorials showing it then...

Unfortunately with this firmware, Kies doesn't recognise it and provides no info.

Thanks anyway but I managed to find the firmware online and flashed it using Odin.
Now Kies says I'm using the latest which is a good start : )
Now I just need to find a way to root my SGS2 GT-I9100T
U can try a custom ROM from the Developer's forums here.
I also once stucked in the Reboot Loop..............
But then I installed a custom or if you want features from a official Rom, you can install Stock Based custom ROm from the Developer forums of Galaxy Ace. Really good Rom have been made by the developers
In the chance that someone else is looking for this latest OEM firmware update:
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPC (THL)
It can be downloaded from: http://translate.googleusercontent....flgljh&usg=ALkJrhiMpHV83dugh4RGwhKpyjIrYIgn2Q
It is in "one part file" format and can be flashed using Odin.
whatever may be the problem ......just rem to keep a backup of ur previously used rom and just flash it with cwm...
Progress?

PS : while flasing with odin : "big partition size!!"
Hello,
I will start with saying that Ive already checked every tutorial in every android website.
here is what I did.
I had Miui (Not the ICS one) I have tried to flash CM9 with the existing recovery. than something somewhere on the flash procedure go wrong and the phone just rebooted and putted in loop with no recovery option but download option. so I tried to flash the stock rom using odin 1.85, and the phone just looping on the image of the mobile operator. I did this procedure with the odin for more stock roms I found.
thanks in advance really I need your help...
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu/
maybe you forget ‘Re-Partition’checkbox, it's important.
Hmmm.. perhaps, you have to make sure all the files are properly placed (depending on the ROM you are installing). Also, I'd recommend using a pit file (and don't forget to click on "Re-Partition".. So far, it worked for me. ^.~
Hi,
I came from an LG 2x, so I thought rooting my device in order to have some extra authorizations was no big deal. I first tried with pc software Unlockroot, but it failed in the process.
Being my GB 236 Note quite dirty I wanted to do some extra backup and cleanup. So I googled and stopped at rootyourgalaxynote.com, I tried the first ROOT method, not working, I tried the second method with pc ODIN 3.04 and abyss kernel 42, ODIN says it worked, note reboots but it stops at Samsung galaxy Note Gt-N7000 with yellow triangle. shocked, I didnt really expect that! After reading a little bit else, I went to sammobile downloaded italian gb 236 stock (the version I had befor kernel flashing) and tried to flash with PC Odin. It Failed. Device still gets in download mode. But now I'm seriously worried. What can I do?
[UPDATE]: I tried using Odin 1.85 and the same gb 236 stock rom but it stops half the factoryfs.img flashing...please explain me what's happening. I don't really want to bring it in assistance and lose my warranty

First you should t have flash abyss through odin since now you are not rooted and do t have the warranty too, the counter of flashes increased to 1 (look at the download mode small text), for rooting you can use chainfire's tool (in the cf-root kernel thread look for it in devolepment section) next get a stock rooted kernel and flash using the tool (read instructions).
For now use pc odin 1.87 and get a firmware 2.3.6 use the pc odin select the file on PDA and flash it, make sure phone is charged 100% and press start, if it doesn't work then uninstall drivers, reboot machine, reinstall them and kill kies process if present in task manager and then goto download mode connect USB and open pc odin wait for the port to be ready aka green and select file then start.... you should be fine its a soft brick afterall.

Yeah I know atm I don't have system nor root nor warranty.
I tried odin 1.87 with the stock rom from sammobile but at one point or another is it cache.img or factoryfs.img, it fails (I also uninstalled kies and drivers and reinstalled them, i also tried installing only drivers, for at&at note, but it doesn't let me). I'm gonna download another stock rom, I just hope in some way I soon solve the thing, given that I also don't know how much charge is left and if the phone still gets charged. it just displays an idle circle near an empty battery when connected to pc or A\C cable.

When connected to charger make sure phone is off the battery meter will show as soon as you connect, case it doesnt leave it for like 3 hours is fine... next about that ROM redownload. The package cleanup you temp directories in PC and try again if still goto recovery abyss I guess? Wipe everything and use the mount option and format partitions I would recommed you to have repartition but I dont have the file you can look for ot in forum its. Hi REVERSIN,
Thx. I was starting to fear it could be sth more than a soft brick. Can the initial use of unlockroot have caused anything (at least a week ago, Note still working after that)?
Sorry but I really can't understand what procedure should I follow since these initial attempts at flashing stocks failed. Should I try to flash CWM? What is the ISS root section (is it in the forum)? Where can i do a normal recovery wipe from? CWM I guess..

If you have the stock recovery, restore default wipes everything.
If you have stock re every and want CWM temporary just to wipe goto n7000 devolepment and check how to root by dr.ketan and get files there
If you have CWM then wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik.... and try. Old download another firmware like kk5.... something else not the new LC1 LX1 releases.... (Latest GB) get an old one to get root easly

Having looked at the thread regarding a similar predicament that I have (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783556), I'm keen to know I can use ODIN to put on a new ROM. Basically these are the steps I've followed;
1. Used KIES to update my ROM from Gingerbread to ICS
2. Use ODIN to update root my phone with CM9 safe kernel (not knowing it would have been significantly better to have copied my new AOKP ICS ROM to the internal SD card first)
3. Rebooted my phone and cannot get past 'SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE GT-N7000' logo.
4. I can still boot into download mode and use ODIN but wondered how I should use it to install a ROM as none of the ROM's I've downloaded, are in the correct .tar, md5, smd format, that OSIN is looking for ?
Some pretty basic reading for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321268

First of all, I'm not sure if this is the answer your looking for, but here is it anyway.
IN PC ODIN, there is a 'PDA' button (same button you flashed your kernel to), you need to download the ROM's zip file and flash it from there.
Stock ROM file you download is zip, you need to extract it one time to get into .tar, then you can use that file with pda of odin.

Would these be the files needed to get my phone back up and running? I am new to Android and screwed my phone up after a factory reset, now it just reads downloading for ages and does nothing. I still get a screen that reads Hyperdroid RedPill Recovery when i power on with volume button up pressed. Volume down I get Android man and it reads downloading but does nothing.
I have looked all over for this situation but seem to get a piece here and there and not the exact same issue all in one so I am reluctant to just do something and make it worse.
Please advise
That is downloading mod, it won't do anything but remain as it is, if you don't do anything.
You need to connect you device to PC in this state and have to use odin
Read 1st line on my sign and read post#2, you will get full instruction, how to use odin.

I've a i9000 and i9300 which I don't really use so I thought I'd do some updating.
A while back I put CM11 on the i9000, and put it on the i9300 yesterday, then I thought I'd root them, that's when the problems started!
Booted into download mode and used Odin to put the firmware on, it reports successful but the phone doesn't boot past the first screen.
I used the CF-Root file -XX_OXA_JVT-v4.3-CWM3RFS.tar but I've also tried JVR, JVS, JVU, JVZ and JW4 out of desperation....with the same results.
I'm glad I started with the i9000, and I'd like to try to recover it, but I'm at a loss now :crying:
That CF kernel is for stock JVT. Hopefully you didn't try it for CM11?
It would last to flash a full firmware, reboot once, and after that you can flash compatible custom kernel (same image contains also custom recovery).
We have quite good sticky threads in this section that can guide you. Which Odin version did you use? 1.83 and 1.82 are the last ones with full compactibility for the i9000.

But I'm unable to install a ROM!
Recovering the phone as above also puts ClockworkMod on, but it fails to install the ROM with file signature errors, trying both the CM and Gapps gives the same error.
Also trying to install ClockworkMod using heimdall as I did previously also give an error
Code:
Session begun.
Downloading device's PIT file...
PIT file download successful.
ERROR: Partition "kernel" does not exist in the specified PIT.
Ending session...
Releasing device interface...
All I want is CMmod back on again!
After quite a few attempts at different ways and a few 'black screens of death' I've managed to get it completely back to stock using heimdall following this. My head is spinning!
Now I've just got to start with CWmod and CMmod again. Now it's stock I'm tempted to try and root it.....but that was the start of the problems last time!
After trying to root again and another bricking I decided to give up with the root!
The issue is when trying to install CWmod I get the same error as in post #4, which means I'm completely lost now as the phone was back to stock.
[email protected] Ok coming from a Windows background I forget about case, and the CMmod wiki is incorrect. The issue is as I've had my head spinning so much I forgot I did this last time!

This was totally wrong way to install. Who adviced you to flash CyanogenMod with Heimdall? Are you not reading install instructions at all?
I adviced you yesterday to go with sticky threads here.

I'm not! I'm trying to install ClockworkMod using heimdall, I install Cyanogen from the SD after entering recovery mode.

You have to flash a stock firmware and after that compatible kernel for it, as kernel and recovery share the same image on the i9000. So unlike other devices, the recovery can not be flashed separately. That's why the kernel must be compatible with the ROM.
If you have flashed once ROM based on Android 4.3 or higher, your partitions sizes have been modified and you must flash also PIT file together with stock firmware and enable re-partition.

Yes I've also flashed the PIT, I used the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196179
which included it.
I will try to recover it using the sticky at the top of the forum then try CWmod again.
Thanks for the help [emoji3]

If you're using Heimdall, be sure to use v1.31 as the later versions aren't working so good on the i9000 anymore.
Do you use Linux or Windows as your PC's OS?

I'll grab an older version of Heimdall as I think I downloaded the latest.
I'm using Windows (7 64 bit).... along with it's USB driver idiosyncrasies

I restored the phone to stock from your instructions at the top of the forum, then tried a rooted ROM.
Everything went fine, although I'm not sure if I had root access (as it worked I didn't bother to check). Then I tried CWmod but it still failed to install, so went back to stock again.....it still wouldn't install
From the ClockworkMOD website..
Download recovery -- you can directly download a recovery image using the link below, or visit clockworkmod.com/rommanager to check for the latest version of ClockworkMod recovery for your device (if your device can be found there).
Recovery: Semaphore_2.7.4.tar

If you use their link (me being lazy did) then it fails, but go to the website and find the image then it works!! It's a slightly different filesize, so maybe a different version?
The ironic thing it that on the CyanogenMOD site it mentions that the phone hasn't got to be rooted to install it, but what I didn't realise was CyanogenMOD it also installs a different firmware...which is rooted!!
At least through all this I'm a bit wiser as to flashing the phone etc :good:
@eusty Rom Manager app is useless for i9000, except for reading the names of nandroid backups.
