My Galaxy Ace is stuck in a reboot loop after trying to flash 2.3.6 onto it, when it had 2.3.5 on it previously.
I've used ODIN and no matter what firmware I try to flash onto it, it just goes into a reboot loop.
Any idea how to fix it?
Did you try to do a wipe?

press down home button and then power on phone ...--> you will enter into recovery mode .
select wipe with help of volume keys and there you go out of bootloop
My Galaxy Ace is also in some sorta reboot loop.
Everything was working fine with it (phone is rooted and CWM installed) until I did a phone reset because I was giving the phone to my gf. After doing this the phone reboots, the blue samsung logo plays (without sound) and then repeats ad-infinitum. I can get into recovery mode and download mode ok and I've tried wipe and even restored a CWM backup (it says it was successful) but the phone just keeps rebooting. I can see the phone in odin but I've never tried to flash anything onto it and quite frankly I'm unsure whether it would just make things worse (if it needs to go back to Samsung for repair). Any help would be appreciated...
If you have cwm ..why dont you download some custom rom like cm7and flash it ..that would bring your phone back to life ...then you can downgrade to stock rom if you want ...and btw in cwm try cache partition , clear data /factory reset and clear dalvik cache ..see if it boots after you do this ..

when i always flash by odin or by cwm i always do wipe , wipe cache and wipe dalvik, this helps me everytime
I managed to flash a firmware from samfirmware and it fixed the reboot.
Now my issue is when I connect to Kies, it says there's an updated firmware for the phone but it fails every attempt to install it. I went back to samfirmware and found this firmware: S5830ZSKPD ## but when I download and extract it there's only 1 x MD5 file and 1 x DLL file?! The other firmware had the 4 or 5 files needed to include in Odin... any ideas guys?
I think its a "one package file " ..I forgot the correct name but there is some option like that in odin ..dont worry it contains all the required files ..and if you are scared to do it then go to you tube ..there are many tutorials showing it then...

Yep, that's exactly what it was, thanks again.
Unfortunately with this firmware, Kies doesn't recognise it and provides no info.
I flashed back to the older firmware... I'll just have to keep experimenting I guess.

Well I could flash it with Odin if I had the firmware but I don't.
It appears it's not available on SamFirmware.com
Do you know where I can download the following firmware?
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPC (THL)
Thanks
Lol I cant understand those firmwares ..can you tell me which version of android you want like 2.3.4/2.3.5/2.3.6 ...then ill be able to help you wanr

Thanks anyway but I managed to find the firmware online and flashed it using Odin.
Now Kies says I'm using the latest which is a good start : )
Now I just need to find a way to root my SGS2 GT-I9100T
U can try a custom ROM from the Developer's forums here.
I also once stucked in the Reboot Loop..............
But then I installed a custom or if you want features from a official Rom, you can install Stock Based custom ROm from the Developer forums of Galaxy Ace. Really good Rom have been made by the developers
In the chance that someone else is looking for this latest OEM firmware update:
PDA:KPD / PHONE:KPD / CSC:KPC (THL)
It can be downloaded from: http://translate.googleusercontent....flgljh&usg=ALkJrhiMpHV83dugh4RGwhKpyjIrYIgn2Q
It is in "one part file" format and can be flashed using Odin.
whatever may be the problem ......just rem to keep a backup of ur previously used rom and just flash it with cwm...
Progress?

Read all the previous no way out loop boot
Hi every body
i have installed cwm, custum firmware, every thing goes ok
tryed to use simlock remover, no message, turned off the Galaxy Ace but after rebooting, a continuous loop boot, no acces to recovery, flashing on wath ever firmware version with odin success but on rebooting the loop is back, help please.
PS : while flasing with odin : "big partition size!!"
Tried everything I could with Odin and phone still stuck in a start loop.
I was downgrading from checkROM to official firmware ZSLA2 with CWM (I wanted to keep ROOT, so I selected "Keep CF-Root kernel") due to stability issues, after restarting the phone got into the start loop.
I flashed with Odin official ZSLA2 with the same result (looped start). I flashed XXKKA (again looped start). During the flashing process, Odin says the flashing was successful. By the way, both ROMS are tar.md5 files.
I tried to remove the battery for over 30 minutes and charge it for 2 hours, tried re-partition in Odin (it's my understanding that with a stock rom, it creates a clean installation), but Odin fails to start the process.
What else can I do?
I am sorry if this has previously asked, but I've been searching for over 2 hours and nothing similar came. Somebody mentioned to use a PIT file in addition, but the other person who got his phone soft bricked didn't solve the problem either. As downloading a ROM is time consuming and I've got many problems with upload sites in china (cannot access to most of them), I would thank any help in regards this issue.
Sounds like your kernel isn't talking properly to your ROM.
A fresh start is your best bet. Flash a stock rom and kernel from Odin and reroot it with CF-Root.
What files are you putting into Odin? There should be a total of 4.
I'd also avoid the use of a .pit file. I haven't even seen the mention of one in all my time on the Note forum. I really don't think Samsung uses them the way they used to. (I used to have to flash one all the time when testing roms on the original galaxy tab.)
I am using official ROM N7000ZSLA2_N7000ZSLA2_N7000XLA4_HOME.tar.md5 into PDA and also tried ROM N7000XXKKA_N7000XEUKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar.md5, which I used successfully in the past to make root into my phone.
Does it really make a difference to flash 4 separate files instead of a full pack? Where can I find an official ROM with pda radio and kernel separated? Just untar the ROM?

Oh, they do come into the Note; I flashed the Beta ICS, and one of the things they mention is to use the PIT file for the 16GB version, instead of the 32GB that comes with the leaked ROM. Unfortunately I deleted that ROM, and donwloading it is painfully slow and also wouldn't necessarily solve my problem as I couldn't even make a phone call.
True - the .pit file can change the size of the partition data... But that's not your problem. If the .pit file was the problem - you'd boot, but have 0 storage space (or something else wonky pertaining to your disk size.)
Open the tar up and make sure it has all the files in it. Should be 5.
I've attached a screenshot of the 5 file names. Make sure they are all in the .tar you are flashing.
Even i had similar problem after flashing Stock ROM using Odin (PC). Only thing i did is just rebooted in recovery and Wipe/factory Reset and Wipe cache. everything went fine.

Well, I finally managed to get my phone back. I was getting a lot of corrupted ROMS. I couldn't download your ROM as well; I managed to install the Beta ICS 4.0.3 which comes with a PIT for repartition, as I think the problem was that my booting partition was screwed.
Problem now is: that rom screws the phone and the keyboard, but at least I have my phone back.
Thank you

I too bricked my phone but after reading this guide (ABD wouldn't recognise my device so I couldn't follow it) I understood the partitions had become messed up.
I read somewhere about the PIT files.
I ODINed the ABYSS Kernal and PIT (Q1_20110914_16GB-patched) for my 16gb n7000 ticked the repartition box. It booted into CWM recovery and I used the restore and bingo.
Fix The problem
I had the same problem, the device got into start loop. JUST DO A FULL WIPE..! and the device should start normally. I worked for me.... :good:

For flashing Stock ROM use PC Odin. Not CWM..
try flashing with odin only the PIT file with repartition ticked
then reset file on odin
now factory setting shuld flashing o.k

thanks for the reply, ive tried to flash the PIT file "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4" with & without checking the re-partition, after that the same thing when I try to flash the stock ROM (PC Odin) : fails to write factoryfs.img.
Just to make things clear when I flash a stock rom i load it in BOOTLOADER anwhen i flash the kernel only i load it in PDA
Please before flashing any ROM read all instruction mentioned in thread.
And if you flashing via PC Odin, Select .md5 file in PDA Tab. not in boot loader.
You shouldnt be putting anything in bootloader ideally....
Try and get a one file tar that you put into pda.

Hello.
I have Galaxy Note.
I used to have TeamRocket v1.5 installed and it would work ok.
I wanted to try a new OS so I tried to erase and wipe the data on the sd card. it took a long time so i thought it got stuck and i restarted my phone, since then I cannot use odin to install full roms.
what I am able to do is to install CF-root CWM5 kernel and after that to copy the AbyssNote v4.2 kernel zip and to install from that CWM. that will provide CWM version 5.8.1.5
I tried using Odin3 versions 1.87 and 1.85.
I tried installing on two different windows 7 computers.
i was able to install from these same computers these same roms before.
I tried install several versions of stock roms and the Chinese rom
examples:
N7000XXKKA_N7000OXXKK5_AUT
N7000XXLA3_N7000OXALA3_OXA
N7000XXLP1_N7000OXALP1_OXA
i tried installing versions that contain only the PDA
and versions with PDA,PHONE,CSC and UMS.
I tried using the Q1 pit file: Q1_20110914_16GB.pit
I also tried to re-partition the SD card using CWM but everything provides the same results. whenever I try to install any rom it stuck at factoryfs.img
it seems like if i'll find a stock rom that can be installed with cwm it would work, but i didn't find anything like that so far.
so no matter what I do i get the same results.
please help!
thanks
Kfir
Have u flashed Angelom's Kernel V1.1 or V1.2?? or TRR V1.6??
just to confirm :
-is it stuck on factoryfs ? or u mean when it reaches factoryfs just terminating and giving FAIL in Red ?
updates
Hello.
Odin3 v1.87 doesn't terminate on factory.fs it just doesn't show any progress
anymore when it reaches factoryfs.img
I tries installing Angelom's Kernel v1.1 (I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK) but with same results. here it tries to install factoryfs.img first (not starting with cache like the stock roms) but the results are the same. no progress from there.
regarding trr 1.6. I assume you meant team rocker group. The latest version of their Rom for galaxy note that i could find is 1.5. and the docs on the forum says that it should be installed on top 1.4 and it should be installed on top of a the ICS rom. i don't have anything installed so I don't think just unpacking this rom with CWM while having a clean hard drive would work. (i may be wrong)
gonna try it anyways.. so I installed teamrocket v1.4 zip from external sd card using cwm recovery (install zip), wiped the data and restart.
welp it just shows the boot logo with a yellow triangle and that's it. does not work.
I resolved the issue by sending my phone to the cellular company. They fix it and I didn't need to pay anything. I was able to properly root my phone. Thanks

i can't flash any Rom!
Bricked
Mine if bricked. Nothing has worked. Question for you all. Bought this from a over seas company as I am in the United States. Was told that we would have to ship to Samsung in the UK. We went to the samsung.com/uk site and got the phone registered and it tells us to contact the service center. They will not accept the phone. We were honest with them and told them we would pay but after 5 calls between Samsung and Intercity the repair people they simply will not take the phone.
This is frustrating as I spent $750 bucks for a phone and can't even pay to get it fixed. I knew the risk of flashing but it's hard to believe it happened we've been doing it for yours. I'm not sure if my loyalty to Samsung will continue.
Hi all,
i bought a galaxy tab last month, and i installed cyanogenmod 9 nightlies. i was using without problem. but after 23.07 nightlies i got play store error. it wouldnt open. i saw that google account was removed. than i wanted full factory reset and wipe sd card and than clean cyanogenmod install...
Off course clockwork recoverymod was also deleted (i know i am stupid!)
Than i found some p1000 stock roms and tried install with odin. And i did it, installed rom without problem but when i turn my tablet on its waiting on boot screen. it doesnt turn on. stays on boot.
I found this when i was on recovery mod (tablets stock recovery) SEE ATTACHMENT PLEASE.
Now i have a tablet and i cant do anything. I think if i have a 3 files stock rom i can flash it with odin.
Do you know what do i have to do now? Please help me guys
You have gone this far for nothing.
No Play or Gmail means you just need to flash gapps.
I know people say nightlies no need to flash gapps.
But if gapps is missing, just flash gapps again.
Now you are at this stage,
use Overcome method:
Go to overcome site
Http://www.teamovercome.net
Read the guide,
Missing pictures can be seen here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20974872
Follow the picture step by step.
Basically to restock:
Download GB-stock-safe-v5.zip, unzip it and and flash with ODIN according to the guide.
Once done, continue to flash overcome kernel tar using Odin
and then boot to CWM recovery and flash CM9 twice
then flash gapps.
Hopefully that solve your problem.

You can restock using GB stock safe v5 once, then flash your N stock GB again.
Or if your stock has pit file, you don't need GB stock safe v5.

Could you please post the steps as I am afraid to hard brick my tab again.
If you follow my signature, that will take you to overcome files.
The PDF guide is quite clear.
Anyway it doesn't need to be GB. You want pit file so Odin can repartition the storage.
There is a chance your internal chip is failing.

well, I don't know for sure.
But the P1000N/L has different touch screen driver in their kernel.
You can flash it using Odin and you can even use the recovery, since CWM isn't touch screen based.
But that is not what I am saying above.
You asked for guide, I said Overcome guide is clear.
Have you even download the PDF and read?
Page 7/8 has picture of what to put in Odin fields. You can put GB stock safe v4, v5, or whatever, a Panama or Trinidad based GB, or even Froyo, the picture is still going to be the same (or similar).
So, use your froyo, use the guide. (or not) up to you.

Ok I will try it. Thank you very much!
This error regularly happens when flashing stock ROMs. Then you will have to download and flash dbdata.tar as PDA in Odin (Google "P1000 dbdata.tar"; it's about 1.25MB or so). This solves it for me and a few others.

OK so I am using the correct PIT, or so I understand. I even tried reflashing the dbdata.tar as PDA in Odin. Still no change.
Could this have an affect on the modem of the tab as well and cause it not to read the sim?

No clue, never had to reflash my modem. That may have introduced a wild variable into the equation, because usually the dbdata trick fixes that problem.
I advise starting the whole Overcome restock process from the beginning. Try to ignore the modem part.
YAY! Fully rooted with SU and BusyBox Installed. I restocked to Froyo with PIT and Re-partition, then reflashed Froyo again (no PIT). Then flashed the dbdata.rfs.tar file. Then I was able to use Superoneclick to root and install SU & BB.
Thanks to each one of you for your help!

it still showed the blue line etc. I waited a lng time and tried
rebooting, but got the above.
Re-flashing in Heimdall had no effect.
I then tried flashing
hardcore-speedmod-ics-recovery-n7000.tar
using Odin 3.185 from my VMwars Fusion XP install,
and that seemed to finish ok, but no luck either.
I looked for the latest CWM 6.0.4.3 recovery, but I cannot find any
odin-flashable format for it, and of course I cannot use the sdcard
as I cannot even boot into any recovery as is.
Can anyone suggest next steps?

1st things 1st. Why would u use heimdall or odin? And what is your current ROM before trying to flash CM 10.3, was it stock? You should have looked for CWM recovery or Philz safe kernels as base when doing ROM flashing ESPECIALLY custom roms. From what you said, then can you still boot into download mode? I have no knowledge of heimdall so just download Stock Firmware, flash it with odin and see if you can boot your N7000 first.
The worst case scenarios is you are experiencing emmc bug-brick. go to the thread and read carefully to deduce your type of 'brick' and find solutions there. Good Luck.
I was on a stock 4.0.4 (but rooted). I originally tried flashing the cwm from the sd card, but after starting to load it it also just hung,
so I looked for an alternative..
I found a post on stockroms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997) but the links all point to hotfile.com. which my browser says it cannot find. is hotfile dead? Is there an alternative?

Go to sammymobile.com if I'm not wrong. Download the stock firmware there. Rooted but do u have cwm installed? Rooted doesn't mean you have cwm installed.

I'm sorry so did u succeed or did you not succeed in installing the custom rom? If your custom rom boots fine then all u need is to search for solving status 7 error thread. My advice to all noobs is to always try n avoid installimg anything except stock rom in odin. Always read and re read before flashing anything that's beyond your knowledge. Basic knowledge of flashing cusroms is :
1. ALWAYS make sure you're on SAFE and COMPATIBLE KERNEL. Most rom threads ALWAYS Include threads/links to a specific recovery/kernel to use. Read n RE READ that.
2. Wipe everything IN RECOVERY mode before flashing a rom.

If you're able to boot up properly n prompted to wipe, then do it. But do it in recovery not on device.
Ok, I downloaded one of the stock kernels for my internatinal N7000, but flashing that with Odin 3.185 hangs about 3/4 through (has now been
sitting there for >60 mins).
Looks like I am screwed?
The file I found is KIES_HOME_N7000XXLT4_N7000OXALT4_1103517_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I f I wanted to try flashing this with Heimdall, I'd need to know partition numbers I think
Where can I get those?
Or should I get another file?

Before that, do u have KIES installed? KIES is NOT compatible with odin and will cause potential trouble. So is some firewall and antivirus apps. You need to disable all of them before using odin. Please search the thread http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for stock rom site.

Ok. I downloaded two stock roms from sammobile:
[email protected] 1 mathias staff 808649674 May 9 10:53 N7000XXLT5_N7000MBCLT1_MBC.zip
[email protected] 1 mathias staff 750466356 May 9 10:50 N7000XXLRL_N7000OXELR5_MBC.zip
but both fail with some (unreadable, apparently character set issue) error under ODIN.
I found this:
http://droidangel.blogspot.sg/2012/01/samsung-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-all.html
which shows how to do a full flash , including PIT file, but the links again go to hotfile which seems to be down.
http://hotfile.com/dl/140099962/b9e0d63/Q1-20110914_16GB.pit.rar.html
Where can I get a) separate
CODE_N7000xxxxx_CLxxxxxxx_REVxx_user_low_ship.tar.md5
MODEM_N7000xxxxxx_REV_00_CLxxxxxx.tar.md5
GT-N7000-CSC-MULTI-xxxxxx.tar.md5
and the PIT file?

Of course you fail... When using ODIN, U should have downloaded the .tar. if you downloaded a zip. then unzip it first to get the tar file, then you flash it with odin. All requests are included in the stock.tar And PLEASE DO NOT Play with PIT files if you don't know what you are doing.
So now what you need to do is. :
1. DISABLE KIES (Uninstall it better), Your firewall, antivirus.
2. Install CORRECT Samsung USB driver. (Search keyword "download samsung N7000 usb drivers")
3. Unzip your zip file and extract the tar.file.
4. Run ODIN as Administrator (Right click/run as)
5. Go to download mode. connect your device to Pc/laptop.
6. Wait until Odin detects your device, click AP/PDA and choose the tar file you extracted.
7. DO NOT tick partition.
8. Let it run
Of course I unzipped the zip to get a SINGLE .tar.md5, but flashing that fails on factoryfs about 3/4 through. consistently.

Try updating your odin. Use the newest vers. And try and read this https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...ds-cse&usg=AFQjCNGd2e3iG5hkDeo0KyAjGuCSfQSLUw . If All fails then it's a confirmed SUPER-BRICK and there's nothing except samsung service centre can help you now... Sorry for not being able to help more..
Thanks. That led me to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656635
where I found the PIT file, but for ROMs pointed to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530501
which again points to hotfile and fileserve.com , which (besides being under maintenance) says
FileServe can only be used to download and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.
which makes it useless for finding ROMs...
