But i trying this operation some time, and smartphone rebooting ...

Once you do the wire trick remember! The spit you touch first ; hold it. Then the second spot touch and hold for approximately 1.5 seconds then let it go and touch and hold it again for 1.5 seconds. All this while holding the first spot. Keep trying trust me this error is because you were not doing the wire trick correctly

Make sure you are doing the wire trick properly. Use a paperclip with tape wrapped around the place you hold onto.

It sounds to me like you probably were unsuccessful using the wire trick. This happened too me to. If you rerun the Juopunutbear client from your computer it should reconnect and let you try the trick again (it did for me). In my case the phone would power off after failing the wire trick. Then to get the phone to power back on I had to remove both the battery and usb cable and wait a minute before the phone would turn back on. Each time I failed the trick I had to do this (finally got it on my third try).
If for some reason you want to give up on achieving s-off you can do what this guy did: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697810. Basically:
- flash the stock kernel (HTC Vivid All-In-One Kit may help)
- Relock the phone
- Flash the RUU from the HTC website

i was about to give up and throw my phone against the wall lol.. but yeah use a bread tie.. the metal ones covered in cardboard stuff.. peel the ends off. and yeah

Please help guys. any help is much appreciated !
hi
take your card out and formated with your computer as fat32 it might be correpted
try gain with SD card method if not
use hard SPL method
Use the computer in tow steps and keep your mobile linked while you do the hard SPL flash and uploading the ROM with RUUtility_Kovsky
1 - Downloads the hard rest program X1_HardSPL_v1from xda and unzip
2 - Download the flash utility RUUtility_Kovsky from xda and unzip
Installation, remove the SD card from your mobile it might be corrupted
To lode the ROM to your mobile in tow steps
1- Flash your mobile with X1_HardSPL_v1click the EXE file this will take less than 5 minutes watch your mobile screen and press yes to add a small ROM
2- Don’t remove your mobile USB
3- IMPORTANT you have to copy the new ROM .nbh inside the ROM utility folder called RUU_Kovsky, select ROMUpdateUtility.exe its located inside the folder RUU_Kovsky and pres the ROMUpdateUtility.exe , and start upload your ROM ,this will take less 10 minutes
Put back your formatted SD card
Thanx
thanx for your help bro. but i still am not able to properly understand your methods.
Please explain them in a little brief and please provide the links for ruu_kovsky
It's a request.

Thanx dude. M through now
hi , are you don , if so install this rom, the best
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509891
most probably:
1- you don't have HARD-SPL correctly flashed
OR
2- the ROM you are flashing is corrupted (bad download or bad decompression or bad copy to the microSD)
PS: with the stock SPL you can still flash STOCK ROMS
WHAT TO DO ??
1- remove the microSD card and insert it into a PC (with an adapter or reader)
2- delete the current kovsimg.nbh file
3- CHECK the microSD for errors (right click -> tools -> scan disk or check disk)
4- COPY A STOCK ROM to the microSD and rename to kovsimg.nbh
5- Insert the microSD back into the phone, go to bootloader and flash
6- ENJOY YOUR PHONE AGAIN

[Guide]Rooting after AlphaRevX!

Should also work with Revolutionary!
Okay, it took me some trying and stuff but I finally found a way!
Okay, this is going to be simple step-by-step
First: Copy this to the root of your SD card: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=548407&d=1300751790
Second: Go into HBOOT and click yes when it asks you to update (note: Please make sure your SD card is FAT32 and not FAT, it must be FAT32 for this step to work.)
Third: Remove the img file from your SD card and add this file: http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip
Fourth: Go into HBOOT and click Recovery!
Fifth: Click install zip from sdcard (or some thing like that) (Protip: Navigate in the recovery with the trackpad, not the power button!)
Sixth: Click choose zip from sdcard
Seventh Locate your zip and let it update.
AND YOU'RE DONE!
Have fun being free!
If you're having problems with the HBOOT not detecting the .zip update, please check if you SD card is FAT32.
"Second: Go into HBOOT and click yes when it asks you to update"
i go into hboot bt it doesn't ask me to update!!!
Make sure you SD card is FAT32
Link doesn't work , fix it please.

For those who are facing the link not working of first step, this is the link:

It is nothing but custom recovery packed into PC49IMG.ZIP
yes, this is really real. You can root froyo with this guide.

thanks, it was fat. i've formatted it to fat32!
Yea, FAT seems to just not work with the update :/
And you can check if it's FAT32, by connecting it to the pc, then right clicking on the SD card drive and choosing properties.
what version of recovery is?
nvm -and can i install only super user and then get from market rom manager and install recovery via it?tx
worked here after i've formatted to fat32...thank for your tutorial
3.2.0.0 if I'm not mistaken.
great thx! but when im try to install a rom it says install apported!

CM7 youtube videos

Hey guys- Can someone please post links to a good tutuorial on how to install CM7?
Sorry for the noob question, I've searched but haven't found anything "simple" for me to follow.
Try this one and make sure you use the most recent version of CWR (3.2.0.1): http://mrm3.net/nook-color-how-to-install-cyanogenmod-nightlies/
Do you want to install it on the internal emmc or run from a SD card?
I am running from SD and found that this series of videos helped a lot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Isvtga1Yv0
I installed it onto my sd card tonight in about 15min using this guide:

Don't worry it is quite easy. It might look advanced but once you begin to do it, its as simple as putting files onto an SD card and thing pressing the volume keys and the home button a few times. Just do not skip steps and you will be fine.
Also, make sure you have a micro-sd card otherwise CM7 won't boot, its required. Here is a guide to install it into the Internal Memory (EMMC)
Just follow it step by step and you will be fine.
I will try it out this weekend.. Thanks again!

I followed these instructions and I'm up to the following step-
4. Reboot your nook color with the SD card in. It should now boot into clockworkmod(CWR)
5. clockwork mod is an environment to install roms and programs before the operating system boots to navigate use the volume buttons for up and down. home to select and power as the back button.
- I rebooted with the SD card but my screen is stuck on "loading" with skulls on each end

If this is the first time you have gotten to this screen you should be good. What brand, size and class card are you using?
If you previously got this far and followed the instructions you should have pulled the card and then rebooted. Try booting without the card and tell us where you are.....

c:\android
and ph11img.zip from this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=723431&d=1316354019
copy the ph11img.zip to ur memory card
boot into ur bootloader holding power and volume down..
let the phone search for the zip file and when it asks to update or not select yes and let it update..
now u have the boot loader supported by htcdev.com
nw remove the ph11img file from ur sdcard
goto bootloader again select fastboot thn connect ur phone to pc
goto http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
select ur device as htc salsa
follow the steps directly from step 7
and if u do it correctly ull have a new tab in the hboot saying unlocked...
but it wld still indicate s-on
don worry u can nw easly have root acess nw
be sure to use the fastboot given by me
now first u need to get cmw recovery 5
follow this post to download recovery.rar
unrar it to android dir in c to get recovery.img
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=852074&d=1326296914
while ur phone is in fast boot type the command fasboot flash recovery recovery.img
now voila u got cmw5 recovery
to check pop the battery out again goto hboot
select recovery and a new screen will come with the new cmw5
paste root.zip to ur sd card which ull download from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=723432&d=1316354019
now in recovery select install from zip and select root.zip and select yes
now u have root acess
ull c a app called super user in ur phone
nw to increase ur internal size
go into cmw5 recovery goto advance then select to partition ur mrmy card
u must create 2 partitions
1) fat32
2)ext3
the size depends on your requirements
once dis is done
go to cwm recovery again, wipe data, cache and dakvik cache. Reboot.
Install busybox, and choose the version v1.17.1
now go to cwm recovery again.
flash htc-data2sd sdcard
reboot

i have composed this using various authors...
say thnx if helps...if any prblm cms do ask...
nice tutor, mate. you make it simple. well, im thinking about getting our salsa support ext4. it must be something cool..
thanks...
ya ext4 would be really good and stable...
ext 2 keeps giving me crash report for certain processes..
eagrly waitng for ext4..
How does it matter? I have ext2 and i receive 'Force close' error quiet often. Will ext4 work better?
ext2 is slow.....ext3 is better and more stable and you tend to not get force close, ext4 is the ultimate!
i cant get the ph11img.zip to get flashed
while i enter the hboot it finds it but dosnt ask me to flash it.. i belive it dosnt recognise it as a valid file . what am i doing wrong.
my salsa is hboot 1.07.0000 indian version
thats because with version 1.07 you need to go directly to htcdev for the update...it will update that way easier.....
Good tutorial.
Unlocked my salsa..
Increased internal memory but gives Force close on ext-2 and not much stable.
May be problem of my 8GB class 4 SD card.
Will try again when my 32GB class 10 SD card comes.....
I too have class 4 sd card, 8 gb.and everything is fine on my phone.make sure u have followed all steps correctly.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using xda premium
Finaly got 32 GB class 10 sd card, and seems all problems solved.
My phone works very smooth with 2GB internal memory. This time i have use Ext3.

you just had a total failure on the data2sd side.
plz list up the following so we can help more
1-which rom are you using?
2-what ext partition have you setup
3-how big is the ext partition
4-how did you make the ext partition
Hi BigBearEvo Thanks for your reply I managed to get it working but i made a terrible mistake of formating the system, data and cache. Now when i turn on the phone all i see is the bootloader and it will not go past that coz i think i have formated the internal memory( if formating the above does that). I desperatly need a solution, the problem is that forgot to do a backup from cwm, i looked for an official rom but didnt find anything so i tryed flashing a custom rom (chinese rom, as it was the only one i could find) but it keeps saying error. Please if you know a solution to this tell me about it, atm my phone is useless. Thank you for your help it is very much appreciated.
Btw I am from Australia Im not sure what rom i was using before, I unlocked the bootloader from htcdev which meant i hadto download the RUU for Australia and update it. It was running stock rom. Sorry I am not very good at this stuff. When I turn on the phone this is all the information i can see:
ICON_G PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.08.0000
MICROP-0558
RADIO-7.51.35.19
Do u have recovery installed...if not...then we need to get it installed and get you flashing a new rom again.
Best option is.....somewhere in here is recovery 5.0.2.6 with instructions to flash via adb cmds.
Do this according to post, trust it will work!
Once that's installed go get either iconic or sense 3.5. Flash either of these and presto .....working phone again.
Takes a few mins to flash recovery and upto ten minutes for a custom rom.

I had the same problem so I unlocked the bootloader from htcdev and continued from intalling the cwm recovery step, it worked for me, try it.
Hay, I used the script data2sd-ext3 and that made my phone slow like a dead unit. However, i guess it is because my SD card is not a high speed card.
So i reinstalled everything without the data2sd script and it works well now.
I have a question thoug. I am using link2SD now, and most of the application are on SD card and still the phone speed is accetable. Not like data2sd(dead slow).
Question: When i use link2sd and move softwares to SD card. Will it move the application to ext partition or fat partition. I am asking this because it seems like my fat partition has a folder for each application I installed. and the space on fat is decreasing.
any ideas?
From what I gather it uses both and it doesn't truley move them. It still shows as using internal memory but holds alot on.SD. I.stopped using it the minute I got access to ext3 script.

[Q] Rooting the nook hd "beginner"

Hey, I have been looking for a beginner guide to root the nook hd. I am new to rooting so i really have no idea on what to do. I do have windows 8, so i don't know if that would be a problem. If any one knows how to root the nook hd and wants to help it might be easier to chat in Skype, and my Skype name is doodlebuy97. Thanks for your help!!!
P.S. I have looked up guides, but most of them are advanced guides....

By far, the easiest way to root is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613
You just need an SD card, a card reader, some software you download for burning the card, and the downloads in the thread.
Universal root is what is says.
Gapps refers to the Google Applications and Play Store is one of them
Unknown Sources lets you install files not from Barnes and Noble.
For now, ignore the other files until you get that working.
The nice thing is you can't brick your nook, worst case you just have to try to reboot 8 times to be back where you started.
Enjoy and welcome!
Thanks I'll see if this works for me!

What the site doesn't tell you is the order in which to flash. It's also a lot of info to decipher. Leapinlar has done an incredible job providing all of the resources and info needed. Here's what I did using that thread:
1. Follow the instructions in the thread for burning the cwm image to the sd card. There are easier instructions here that Someone0 posted:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34954992&postcount=132. Someone0's directions are for Win7, so it should be close to Win8.
2. Take the sd card out and reboot your Nook like normal.
3. Connect Nook to PC via USB and copy the Universal Root zip and the Gapps zip to your Nook internal storage (on top level so it will be easier to find.
4. Shut down and reinsert your burned sd card. Boot into recovery via power + volume up.
5. Once in cwm, don't hit the N button unless you want to select something. The power button is "nack" i think, but don't quote me on that. Navigate cwm to install the zip from internally storage. Make sure you find internal storage or you won't see any zips.
6. Once flashed, shut down, take out card, and reboot.
7. Discover the wonderful world of a rooted device.

Power button is Home (Top) I think.
You also need ADB running to copy the files over, no? Or are you copying to internal memory using MTP... Can you flash from there? I had just copied the zips to the card while it was in the card reader on the Windows machine. Then the zips are on the CWM card. After you are done, just do a nandroid backup with CWM too in case something gets borked later...

Wow, you're talking about LeapinLar's Nook HD/HDplus Stock Root - via CWM flashable zips thread. Let me correct and clarify those steps a bit:
1. To burn an image to your sd card in Windows, download the win32diskimager-binary.zip, unzip, and run the exe. Write the unzipped CWM image file (be sure to use the one for your device) to the sd card in your computer/card reader. (The post linked to is for getting adb working which you don't need for this.)
2.-3. Leave the sd card in your computer after burning the CWM image and just copy the zips to it.
4. With your nook off put the sd card in and turn on (no need to press the volume up).
5. Once CWM starts up, install zips from sd card (vol + & - are up and down, n button is select, power is back to previous menu). Do the universal root first, then gapps.
6. After the zips are installed, take out the sd card and select reboot.
7. Look around these forums for more info on enjoying your rooted Nook!

I just reworked my instructions in that thread. After going through it in excruciating detail with SovietRussian, I concluded it needed revising. See if you think it is better.

They do look better. Honestly, they were pretty clear to me to begin with. But I do have previous experience with the Nookcolor. I just looked at natefish's instructions and thought he was making it a little harder then it had to be.

Actually, I was just combining what others told me with that leapinlar was saying to do. What I wrote is what worked for me, so I was just trying to help.
Rooting by changing internal code
Been searching for something I stumbled along awhile back. It requires disassembling the Nook HD. My eyes are heavy from search. Supposedly there is another SD card in the nook and a few words need changing. Anyone recall were it is?
