Yes.. you did something very wrong. You didn't search.
Just wait for the Sense UI 2.2 ROM if you want both Froyo and Sense.
Desire ROM 2.2 has been leaked and is fully working I assume, as the devs working on it say it might be out by tonight. Hopefully the Nexus will get a full port by tomorrow... No promises though

Lol tomorrow would such a nice time, but I assume its a tad bit too early. It would be really awesome though..
i mean i want use stock google froyo rom and the apps from sense ui
is this possible?
Nope. Only the game Teeter.
Is there a version of the teeter.apk that will install to SD if we are non-rooted?
I downloaded the OTA and rooted, but cant seem to download the files i need to Deoxed my phone. has anyone already done it? It would be much appreciated.
I tried the manual instructions to Deodex but it didnt work for me
The day the OTA came out birdman tweeted that he is working on it, just give him a little time
BTW, where the hell can I follow Birdmans blog?
I installed TBH 2.3.15(deodexed) over top of the 2.2 OTA. Everything has been fine for me.

if you download the one that is in rom manager it is already deodexed and it is ota rooted. it works pretty good for me so far except it keeps trying to download a diff update and it always says that the download has failed. other than that works really well.

That's because the "Stock" 2.2 on ROM Manager is actually the original 2.3.9 leak and not the actual OTA 2.3.15 released on Sept 22nd.
The 2.3.15 deodexed "leak" through TBH is just that, the "leaked" 2.3.15, not the official OTA.
Be a little patient and wait for the real deal deodexed 2.3.15 OTA that is absolutely coming very very soon.

+1. I used the TBH app and installed the deodexed R2D2 leak over the OTA 2.2, and it's working great!
Maybe I'm missing something...
What is this?

That would be the pre-OTA leaked test build of 2.3.15 which has been deodexed and provided through TBH's app. There are reports that people are installing this over the official OTA without issue, but I'm personally waiting for a deodexed copy of the true OTA as I have found the OTA to be preferable to the leaked 2.3.15 I was running before going OTA (in every respect except for the stupid OTA forced screen lock BS).

Can you quantify other differences? I've seen a lot speculation (me included) about which one is better, but no hard data.
I've using the leaked .15 and have had zero problems.

Truthfully I'm hard pressed to come up with any actual evidence in favor of one or the other. Based on my personal, subjective experience I've found the official OTA to be smoother, more responsive and more stable. When using the new universal rockplayer on all of the leaks there were typical formats (mainly xvid encodes) that wouldn't work correctly even though the older v7 rockplayer played them fine. With the OTA, the universal rockplayer no longer has these problems.
I've never really had any force close issues I can attribute to any of the updates (the only FC's I've run into throughout have been because of websites issues in Dolphin HD). I feel that many of the FC issues people experience may have more to do with the apps themselves than with the system.
I never had any market issues with any of the releases so I can't speak to that aspect (I've always used Beesley's build.prop mods including the current one for the OTA so I don't believe that to have an effect on anything).
My linpack and quadrant scores have been consistently higher with the OTA than with the 2.3.9, 2.3.13 or 2.3.15 leaks (though all that speaks to is a theoretical benchmark score and not much real value). That could be giving me a placebo effect, making me feel like it is more responsive just because there's some numbers evidence (even if the numbers are total BS, lol). I consistantly get mid 14's in linpack and mid 14's in quadrant where with the leaks I would really only hit high 13's in each (even with FlyX and Tranquility which I am currently not messing with until birdman tweets that things are set with the OTA and FlyX). I'm trying to stay safe since OTA updated the bootloader and has a different kernel than the leaks.
Has anyone else who have used both the leaks and official OTA actually kept track of anything they can speak about? I wish I would have kept notes throughout the process.
well i was able to create my own 2.2 ota deodexed update.zip.. but as i began to modify it at 3am my lack of sleep caused me to take short cuts and make an incredibly stupid mistake. I ended up attempting to reflash my phone to test out my update.zip without thinking.. i completely forgot that there was no 2.2 sbf file and i used the 2.1 sbf file. So now i have a hefty brick in my hands, but already have a new one being sent to my house with next day shipping. I will test it out on the new phone and then post it here. It will be deodexed/png optimized/zip alligned/with blackbar modded notification bar.
i was so pissed that i had everything done, and pulled an epic fail during testing.

That stinks. Sorry to hear it.
stupid questions...................
First, what is that "deodexed" thing? Can anyone explain it in plain English? I was pretty good addict flashing Roms on my Nexus 1, but am kinda afraid to do anything with my new Dx, for unknown (to me) reason.
Also, i have heard or read somewhere that if i wipe everything in recovery, before flashing new "zip", i will be stuck at M logo forever.....is that correct?? I would appreciate anyone who can explain these.............ty.

Download and install over stock or themed it will deodex for you
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
So once this is done if u don't like the theme, which im not saying is the case, U can load another right on top of it and still be deodexed with the official ota update?
Hi all,
could someone post a zip of the deodexed system apps of 2.3 Droid 4?
I'd like to try which apps are working on the DROID 3!
Especially the Gallery (which seems to show folders now) and the Music App.
Thanks in advance!
I would gladly deodex the rom, since I need it that way too, but I have a learning curve involved. If anyhone already has it, I might be able to help with lapdock love on the custom roms.

Hey Everyone, I have been pushing the ICS update away, kind of scared of all the bugs. But I'm wondering if theirs any decent Jelly Bean ROMS? With working Data (4G?) and Camera / Video?
I'm not expecting anything perfect, darn bootloader..
I don't think the bootloader is a concern at this point. A bunch of smart and dedicated developers have managed to get past that on the D3/D4/Bionic/RAZR. Now the difficulty is getting a kernel that works well. Anyway, to answer your question, no. It is a WIP ATM.
Yeah I don't really blame the bootloder, making a joke.
How can I download, learn more, keep track of the w.i.p.s? I know hashcode says stuff over twitter, which is probably keeping track of part. Though I don't understand twitter tweets replys.
And do I need to be on the new ICS update to flash them (with Safestrap 2?)
And whats a kexic build over a rom, or are they the same? differences? I know the kexic stuff is going pretty well.

Hashcode's twitter feed is probably the best/only way to keep tabs on kexec right now.
You do need to be on stock ICS in order to use safestrap 2.11 which is needed to flash the newer ICS builds as well as the kexec builds.
Kexec refers to the kernel as opposed to the ROM. So you have ROMs right now that run off the stock phone kernel and you have kexec ROMs which run off the custom kexec kernel.

Hi All...I'm relatively new to android rooting and would like to know what custom ROM's are available for the Droid Bionic??
Some members were very helpful with my questions recently when I rooted my HTC Thunderbolt.
It seems that the Bionic is a little more difficult to work with and I hope there are some options.
My preference would be a fully functional ICS rom, however, if the best I will do is GB then it has to be. I have to have all of the phone working and without hic-cups (phone, data, wifi, camera, etc.)...I am a heavy daily user and cannot afford to loose any functionality.
Please let me know what options are possible and add the links I will need to both root and install the files. I know there are past threads with this question, but I find it easier to follow new answers.
Thank you all for your help,
ghdroiduser
We are on the verge of ICS right now. There are tons of leaks, but anything newer than 232 will be unable to receive the official OTA.
