Hi everyone,
I am running on LPF ROM and I'm not satisified, especially with contacts not showing most of photos from facebook. So I would like to revert back to GB. I searched the forum and find the safest way is the using PC Odin with stock ROM
I am planning to use Open Europe N7000XXLC1. My question is
1-) When i installed LPF with PC Odin I used the bootloader filed file from the zip and now do I need a another bootloader to downgrade to GB?
2-) Should I check the re-partition box and find & insert a pit file to the corresponding slot?
I do not want to something wrong and brick my device in the process

1. You don't need any other bootloader to go back to GB
2. No.
Try this to revert to GB:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25285584&postcount=3
And if you get a bootloop after flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26460335&postcount=4
I'm no expert but why are you playing with the bootloader ? when i was on LPY i didn't play with my bootloader going back to GB and everything is fine
P.S. stay off recovery mode until you are on GB again

Is it that simple? Just take a stock GingerBread version and use Odin? By GB version I mean that big file (600MB more or less) that is listed in Dr.Ketan post somewhere.
I'm also on LPF though.
Thanks,
Domenique

Yes... Very simple...
Simply download Stock rom and flash it following Dr. Ketan's method.
I was done that 1 week ago.

Hello,
A close friend just got a Galaxy S and it came with Android 2.1 inside. The phone is bought and being used in Turkey.
We have two simple needs:
1. Upgrade Android to a stable 2.2 or 2.3 version.
2. Fix a problem with the Market not working on Wifi. (I believe this needs root access and market enabler, or something like that?)
Is there any tutorial that's safe enough to follow that will help us upgrade the phone? We don't need a fancy custom uber-customized rom, just a good one running 2.2 or 2.3. It may be a stock or a stable custom rom. And finally, we don't want to brick the phone, so we will make sure not to interrupt any process.
Can you point me to a few noob tutorials?
There is more than enough instructions here, go for XXJVK that is latest Gingerbread, before that you need working second bootloader...

Maybe you should ask in modding thread!;-)

Read the FAQ. That's what they're here for.
simply follow the instructions given in the xxjvk download thread..
do it without the bootloader to be on the safe side..
the process is absolutely safe.. but remember... 'IF YOU ARE RUNNING KIES THEN YOU HAVE TO EXIT IT'
I'll use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
But where do I download Odin?
Flash the bootloader file man.
It can be buggy as hell if you don't.
Just make sure your pc and phone have a reliable connection and everything will be ok.
There should be an Odin link in the same instructions.

Do you recommend PIT and Re-partition enabled?
I would set a 512 pit with re-partition. It couldn't hurt.

And what do we do if we want to return the phone to warranty in the future? How do we clean the tracks of what we have done?
Just re-flash a stock rom. You can download any stock firmware and return it the way it was.
Would that remove traces of the bootloader etc?
If a stock firmware had a bootloader included, then yes it would be over written and all traces gone.
Hi Guys!

Hi! Yes, now that you say it this way thats what i have done. Because in some tut it was said to do it that way, but i guess they were talking about flashing a GB rom/zimage.

As the install guide says you are meant to flash the repack and then go into recovery and flash the rom. You will likely need to flash a gb kernel via obin and then do as hia install guide says

Ok, thanks for your help so far.
So you mean the PC version of Odin. In which state will i have to bring my phone in order to do so? Where do i get the GB kernel from?
Would be really cool if you could help me further.

Well i am not 100% sure, tbh your safest route would be to re flash a stock gb rom then root it and then try again just to make sure theres no issues, in which case you can download a gb rom from the sticky in the dev section (make sure its a older rootable image!) and flash using odin while your phone is in download mode
please start at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 then/or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
i am hoping of course, that you can still somehow manage to get into download mode.
I has almost the same issue! I am running speedmod kernel and i want to put back the cf-root 5.3 kernel so I flashed the tar which was included the zimage via mobile oding and after reboot the phone gave me a blank screen and no recovery! only downlaod mmod where I can manage to flash speedmod again via pc odin...
why is that happend?
Come on mate have you even read the opening page for the liquid smoother rom on all opening pages it tells you to the letter how to install and yet you don't follow it and wonder y you have a black screen. Have you installed clock work recovery after rooting your note if not search how to install cwm on you tube cursed4eva is a brilliant guy who spells it all out for you- . Please don't use the fact you a noob as an excuse as I'm probably newer than you but can read and follow instructions to the letter as the developer knows best.
W00t! The phone came back to life! Thanks alot.
Now, what i dont understand is that repack_lp1 thing. I downloaded I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK.tar ... now do i flash this one using mobile odin? Will this install the CFM?
Look for cursed4eva on YouTube watch the video were he shows you how to install clockwork then read the op of liquid smooth rom simple !
Please do some more research before randomly flashing files without having any knowledge as to what they do.
Before you start fiddling with repacks and leaked ICS based roms, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633938
If you still think it's a good idea to flash anything based on the leaked ICS builds, go to the thread of the rom you want to flash and read the instructions. Again, read the instructions and then to be sure read the instructions once more.
Then follow the instructions step by step and you're good to go.
From my rooted GB Chrack's rom I just used PC odin to flash AbyssNotekernel42CWTouchOriginalLogo.tar then I flashed Liquid Smooth rom without problem. However you should follow the instruction from their website.

Anyone got a easy step by step guide to go from ICS Stunner to the GERMAN STOCK OFFICIAL that is floating around in the forums???
Do i have to go back to gingerbread and then do upgrade or is there a easier process to go from stunner to stock Germany?
Thanks in advance i am sure there are others that are thinking this same thing as the ICS STunner was the popular rom with ICS

Just use good old mobile odin and flash the rom, make sure you use the wipe settings to
i was also on ics stunner 1.4.26.1 i just downloaded the stock rom copied the tar.md5 file and flashed it through mobile odin pro, these steps worked for me, but however there is a problem with my samsung keyboard whatever keys i type it only shows null null ... changed it to swype keyboard there is no problem with swype but however there is a problem with samsung keyboard in this build
so basically install mobile ODIN, Put the tar.md5 file on sd card, point mobile odin to the md5 file and use wipe settings and thats it?
sounds easy downloading the file now hope it works if i am wrong in this procedure or if anyone can add extra things i should do before i flash let me know thank you!!!
Do not use mobile odin to flash from a rom that uses the leaked kernel repack;
Use PC odin.
You risk permanently bricking your note.

You can use Mobile Odin but it's not recommended if you're on a leaked ROM/kernel. Use PC Odin and flash it from there.
Just follow the short "guide" here.

Flash the ICS ROM that is already prerooted form this thread, it's stock ICS with only root.. Flash it with PC Odin and you're good to go..
Ok guys here goes.
I downloaded one of the stock ICS roms. For Premium Suite make sure its bigger than 600MB. There is various sources.
I flashed using PC Odin (V1.85) then did a full wipe after flashing. Its all running buttery smooth now. Enjoy!
(First boot will take a while. Just wait it out. Any longer then 15 mins, get worried!)

Note : If you have i9220 bootloader, dont use pc odin, mobile odin will work. There is no way to remove bootloader till now .Chaifire have brick his device due to this. AFAIK i9220 repack LP5 only have this bootloader

WRONG
I am talking about kernels, not bootloaders.
If you use mobile odin, it will use the bugged kernel to flash the mobile odin kernel, therefore risking bricking your phone.
The risk is a lot smaller then using CWM recovery to flash a rom, but it is still there.
I do not know which extra steps to take if you have a different bootloader.

Do not confuse people with incorrect information.
Only those who somehow managed to flash Chainfire's original LP5 repack have said
bootloaders.
Since that flashing procedure is so complicated, I doubt there's more than 1-2
users who managed to do that.
And don't use red fonts to post panicky and false warnings.
so dumb question i have the international version of note in USA - can I use the german rom or ??

you can revert to stock GB via ODIN (the safest way)
if I were you I wouldn't install LPF ROM yet! It's not confirmed safe, it could damage your emmc storage if you do wipe in recovery!

yes! it is contained in the .tar.md5 file when you flash it! (PDA one)
just wanted to check a few things before installing jelly bean on galaxy s (still on stock froyo) on my friends phone
1. Is is safe to directly flash cm10.1 straight from froyo?? or is it necessary to flash ics /gb
2. do the instructions on cyanogenmod work for installing (it says no need to root)
1.) Best to do this:
2.3.6 GB (root) -> ICS -> JB
That way you don't lose your IMEI (which causes no signal)
2.) You do need to root because you need a custom recovery in order to flash custom roms.

You need to upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.6 first and after that CM 9 and finally CM 10 (This is the best way) , As long as you have CWM, you can flash ICS or Jbean from your SD card
so visit My Android Collections and use i9000 Upgrade or Downgrade to GingerBread 2.3.6 ROM JVU + Root with a 512 Pit File (repartition Ticked) Ideal base for upgrading to ICS and J.Bean
This package already has root and CWM
But first save all your important files ( Backup sms, contacts etc) including your efs folder. as you may never know what can happen when Flashing.
any guides you may need look in My Guides and manuals
