AT&T i9020A with 4.0.4 stock ICS. Fresh install.
I've been told and several internet sources say Google Wallet is now available for AT&T customers, but it doesn't show up in the Google Play store
When I sideload it, and open it in the Google Play store, it says this application is not available but shows the page. I don't have the "Open" or "Update" buttons.
Try this one. Been working for me. The recent update in the Play Store says not compatible for our device, but the one I posted works just fine. Simply install.

If you hate google you can always use a Bing, Yahoo or even altavista. If you think google controls you too much you should also consider getting a WP, Bada, IOS or WEBOS devices you know? I stick with my google devices, they rock .
At the end, its always the carriers fault. I am a dev and I have like 10 devices between phones and tablets, and buying devices that are bound to a carrier is always a pain, specially in the US. That is why now I am buying international versions of the phones.

FYI I bought my device unlocked and not through AT&T. My 9020a is unlocked and runs CM9. You can blame the carriers all you want, but Google decided that Wallet would be a carrier aligned thing. They could've said No. Wallet could've easily been non carrier aligned and like GPS it should be a free utility.
I find Google just at fault as the US carriers here. Let us use phone features as is.
And yes NFC has been horribly pushed by Google. They did a terrible rollout a year ago and even now I barely see anyone using it considering you're forced to use a Citi card, and using it on your Google PrePaid card is quite useless IMO.
TechCrunch wrote a great article about NFC: http://techcrunch.com/2012/06/30/nfc-is-great-but-mobile-payments-solve-a-problem-that-doesnt-exist/
Anyway, I may be unhappy with Google here, but don't tell me to jump to Bing or some other irrelevant alternative. You can't expect everyone to be 100% happy. How many iOS users have zero complaints?

The Google Wallet app is now updated to facilitate all the major credit cards; I got an earlier version from the link on this post. Can I get the latest from the forum like I did the former? I can't get it from the play store, and the update button in the GW settings on my Nexus s i9020a is not highlighting to allow for the present update. Or perhaps there is another way. I have version 1.1-R57v5. There is a version 1.1-r67-v12, which I believe may be the one before the 8/1/2012 update. Much thanks and appreciation for the support.

Its been said that XPERIA PLAY is going to be available on February 13 with android 2.3 (gingerbread) pre-installed. Will this mean that Nexus One will have the update to 2.3 before XPERIA PLAY releases? Am I making myself clear? Trying not to sound confusing.
who knows, just use the custom roms here. too much threads about when gb is coming out, just wait.
Google is completely silent about the issue, so if anybody tells you otherwise, they are just guessing.
Well google said that nexus phones will be the first to get 2.3 before any other phone besides nexus s. So if xperia play come out on feb. 3, wont that mean the nexus one will have the 2.3 update right before the release of the xperia play?

I'm not denying that the nexus one is a developer phone, but it is no longer Google's main focus developer phone... that would be the nexus s. Which is why I worded my post as I did. I wasn't trying to spout mis-information, the nexus one is no longer THE developer phone for Google.... the nexus s is and it was advertised that the nexus s will get all official updates first. The nexus one can fall anywhere after that... if at all... that's Google's call. Its the basic order of how things work. We are not guaranteed 2nd dibbs before other brands or phones.
I'm sorry for the false information. I misread phone blogs here and there sometimes.

Same may or may not happen with the Nexus S, but it is a developer phone because it is easy to lock/unlock and also you can target the Nexus S when you build AOSP source code

Does this mean the N7 w/ 3G will be locked to AT&T, and not available as an Unlocked Device? I certainly hope not!
Okay, Scratched that... Contacted Google Device Support (Actually Got an Intelligent Person this time) and they informed that it will be unlocked, and AT&T is only listed to let buyers know AT&T Service can be used on the Device. (and he hinted at a possible AT&T Data Only plan for the N7)

but with my experience with Google Support is they are often wrong...
YOu can't even select it now. For me it takes me to a page where it says, "The page doesn't exist on this server" or something.
Remove the _att from the end of the link.
strangely enough the canadian version of those pages don't have that issue. In canada (and likely UK and so on too) it's still the old "unlocked" thing in the selection and it works like it used to with the american before the change.
It is available for sale yet? Neither _att or without it works with a purchase link .
The links are fixed now, but they're out of stock I think.

They haven't started selling yet, so it's not really OOS. Also, I've seen them change the links twice now. It's still slightly broken (ie: if you click on AT&T then 3G again, it gives you an error message about not available in your country).
Any second now.....and it should go on sale......hopefully....

In stock now in the usa!!!!
It looks like they already sold out, I managed to get in an order of the Nexus 7 w/ the ATT Sim Card, but the device said 'unlocked'. The strange thing is, if you're on the page where it gives the description of the Nexus 7 3G + ATT Sim Page, if you scroll down, you'll see a 3rd Card that lists "Nexus 7 + WIFI + HSPA" w/o the ATT Logo and if you click that one I see that it's "Not available in your country"...

once root comes out you will be able to. you can probably get it to work on verizon by sideloading an app as well. i did it on my dads phone and it worked a while back when vzw wwas locking down google wallet.
From everything I have gathered so far... for AT&T customers
*) Your phone must be officially supported. They have to select some option in your account to turn the feature on.
*) You need a ISIS sim card regardless of whether or not your phone has a secure element.
*) The secure element is inside the ISIS sim card so your phone does not need one
*) ISIS only supports Chase and Amex cards. You can use serve.com (American Express) to virtualize existing credit cards though. I'm not sure how easy it is to switch cards like it is with Wallet.
*) Serve.com virtual cards can only be used at tap-to-pay terminals that support Amex. (apparently not all of them support it)
Don't ask what "feature" they have to enable. It doesn't make sense to me that something has to be flagged in your account but then again it's AT&T so who knows. The store rep I talked with said they did have NANO sims w/ ISIS but only had gotten ten or so total sim cards in. They are only swapping them out on phones that are officially supported and because the X is not supported, it wouldn't work even if you had the sim because the "feature" wasn't enabled on your account.
I really want to throw my middle finger up at the carriers for blocking wallet. To be honest though another side of me really wants to see how the app and everything else works with ISIS. Google Wallet, when it works without having to hack it, I believe is a better option but ISIS could be superior if it takes off. Not superior in performance but in offers and loyalty rewards. I'm sure that will come with a price. I don't know why but I trust Google with big data. I don't trust the carriers and whoever else is in the bed with ISIS with my purchasing data.
Come on Moto, give us 4.4 already!

Google has said the way they're doing it, it can't be blocked.
So, what's this mean for Wallet? In theory, every Android 4.4+ device should just work with Google Wallet as long as it has NFC. Being part of the core Android OS also means carriers and OEMs can't strip out the functionality, as it would be a violation of their CTS certification agreement with Google. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Verizon.

Verizon allows us to use the Google wallet app now, but has disabled the tap to pay feature. This renders it useless, so I just installed the apk from the other thread and it now allows me to use tap to pay.

Yeah I figured out I'm in the same boat. Last night when I updated the app I mistakenly assumed they had rolled out the full release early or something.
I had applied for the beta, but never received any notice of being accepted into it. Lo and behold, I got an email about an hour ago saying I was accepted into the beta even though I got the update last night.
At the moment it seems that it is just Bank of America Mastercard and VISA (and BoA affiliates) or US Bank VISA (and USB affiliates) per the link that Samsung sent with my beta invite.
Here's hoping that more major banks will be available at the full launch... I've been itching to use Samsung Pay since I got the S6 shortly after launch. So far the reviews coming in from South Korea are positive.

That's pretty curious... something tells me there are more requirements that are necessary that are not exactly transparent to us at the moment.
It'd be nice to hear from Samsung regarding exactly what cards/banks will be supported by launch, considering some of the "supported" cards/banks aren't working in the beta.
It's not costing me anything to wait for the service to launch in full, though it is a little disappointing to know that our phones have the latest and greatest tech for mobile payments yet Apple and Google are grabbing the headlines. I'm just hoping this isn't a debacle in the making...
I'm in the beta, I have the app installed and functional. Only problem is when I go to verify a card I get a connection error that says, "Failed to connect to server. Try again later. (645104)". Does anyone else have the same problem or know of a fix? Samsung support had me try reinstalling the Samsung Pay framework but that didn't help.
Edit:
I found a solution to my problem for those who are interested. I had to turn off my device encryption. Since I didn't need device encryption and only did it for peace of mind, I decided to just let it go and decrypt my device. Verifying my credit card then worked after that.
Note:
Prior to decrypting my device, I had called support three times and gone through troubleshooting. During which I:
* Tried different internet connections
* Restarted my phone 4 to 5 times
* Uninstalled Samsung Pay, rebooted, reinstalled Samsung Pay
Of course none of which solved my issue until I decrypted my device.
Yaddam205, this happened to me too, but based on a tip at reddit created a shortcut to the first samsung pay activity (using nova launcher or quickshortcutmaker). That seems to do the trick allowing you to install. It's working for me now.

No, it's not working for me. It says access denied call customer service and links to the number.

I got the beta and I have US Bank and I have to say it's working perfect!!! I have had a bunch of people compliment it already! I'm excited for this.
Damn. I signed up for the beta soon as it was posted and still haven't heard anything.

Try again. I signed up twice and the second time around I got it.
Guys uninstall the old package pro and download version 6.3 from this website. They disabled the urgentfwupdate from version 6.6 which will allow samsung to send updates to our phones.

Wil these 4 checked box, block all future updates?

Quick question, My N7 is not rooted. I've tried it it seemed to be working when I checking the boxes? Also, will it block all future updates?

Im not sure exactly how you would expect any of us to know if it will block future updates.
Nothing in life is guaranteed and we obviously cant predict if samsung finds a way to force the updates despite being blocked....its common sense really.
That said it blocked the first BS update on my exynos and its blocked the current BS update on my snapdragon so we are 2 for 2 lol
Im just happy its working still

Samsung Pay
Hey guys I have a Samsung Pay question, I factory data reset my phone to get rid of the update, installed package disabler pro stopped the update successfully... however when I reinstalled Sammy Pay I cannot complete the setup with my fingerprint, iris, both, nor the pin... Only disabled the software updates and left all bloatware active... How can I get one of my favorite features back?
Any help appreciated
Anyone know where I can get the previous note 7 app to get around this bull crap lock down?

Thank you force70, completely missed it. I've seen you in several threads. You know your stuff.
I am thankful for all those who have contributed to helping us get our note 7s back.
Thank you soulja4187 and force70, and everyone else who helped.
Next big dilemma: Been hearing they may block our IMEI#s since we are not giving up our note 7s. Can we hide or disable this act?

We can't stop them from blocking if that actually happens.
But if it does there are fixes for that also thank god lol.

Old news at This point, that was announced last week.
It remains to be seen where else it will happen though. I will be very surprised if they do that here or in the US honestly.
But if they do no biggie...

you say no biggie, is there a link or an existing thread about this?

Hi guys. Does this APK (on first post) require validation/authentication for it to work? From what I understand, even you buy on Playstore it won't activate this older version.
---------- Post added at 11:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 AM ----------
I've just read on Playstore reviews that "buying lastest version then replacing with this version" doesn't work anymore. Any other alternatives? Is a custom ROM the best option at the moment? I currently don't have the 60% battery OTA update installed, just the green battery icon at 100% (charging very slow). Thanks.
