Actively updated for 2+ years, the PCB series of themes return to Lollipop! With that same dedication, exquisite details have been applied to an extensive amount of elements. We're talking Material Light + Dark, PCB graphic images in the notification dropdown and various backgrounds, as well as 3 different styles of keyboards.
That's not all though, as a full theme support for Holo is included! Many developers have not quite updated their apps to use Material design, and in this case, they'll still look gorgeous due to PCB supporting Holo Light + Dark.
► Custom, unique 8-bit boot animation
► "Exo", a sharp, easy-to-read font
► Wallpaper and Lock Wallpaper
► Techy ringtone and notification sounds
► Works with Tablet UIs!
► Full system, Material & Holo (Light + Dark)
► Calculator
► Contacts // Dialer // Phone
► Android Keyboard (3 styles to choose from)
► Settings
► Trebuchet Launcher
► CM Updater & Theme Chooser
► More features and colours in future updates!
All of the above amounts to what is basically a 4-in-1 theme (Material + Holo // Light + Dark for both), delivering outstanding value at a low cost. Don't forget that the CM12 Theme Engine supports the ability to mix-n-match theme components, so use few, many, or all!
» PCB Mini-Site
Change Log is found via the PCB Mini-Site link above
Due to the nature of Theme Chooser, it is not possible to put multiple colours into one theme
» Google Play
* Note that currently only PCB Blue is available for CM12 -- More colours to follow!
Simply install the theme from Google Play, then navigate to SYSTEM SETTINGS --> THEMES, and apply the PCB colour theme you just installed. If you have any issues with applying the theme, or some elements are not styled, simply perform a full REBOOT.
Please note that while a huge amount of elements are themed, you may come across certain ones that were not. This is most likely due to the fact that the Theme Engine cannot quite style them yet, but I will continue to do my best to update it once available.
You may also sometimes see 'out of place' colours, which were used to target certain elements, however I did not find all of them (they might not even be used), but if you do, please include a full-resolution screenshot and post it to the Google+ community.
A _massive_ amount of work has been put into this theme, and I am sincerely doing my best to get it to perfection. Please consider this when leaving your rating! Hope you enjoy, thanks!
Looks good. It looks a lot like the mixer theme I take it he "borrowed" some of your images

He didn't end up "borrowing" them, as I had given him permission previously. The PCB theme of mine above is 'pure' and of my original work. MrDSL is a great guy though, as I had kindly asked him to remove my PCB elements from his market versions of Mixer, to which he peacefully obliged. Mixer can still be found with my PCB images, however the 'official' version is the one that I'll be maintaining on Google Play. It has been about 1.5 years in the making, and I have never been able to ask for a cup of coffee for it before (due to it formally being a flashable .zip).
Anyways, glad you like, and please do remember that I'll be working hard to maintain and improve this theme. Couple of things planned are more system app styling (MMS/E-Mail/Contacts/etc.), as well as develop new colour schemes once the main design is near-complete.
Cheers and please help spread the word by Tweeting + Rating the app if you grab it from Google Play, thanks!!
Hi! Pretty cool theme. Looks very nice on the AOKPCB!!
Would be possible a CM7 version? :B
Keep up the great job!

Thanks for the kind words clockworkninja!! I'm not sure if it would work on CM7, as that is Gingerbread and has many different resources when compared to ICS...I won't rule it out, but chances are slim
Hey scar - as you may remember I'm a big fan of your theme. Currently running AOKPCB Nightlies on my Sensation and using the CM9/Theme Chooser version on my A500.
Everything is great, one tiny thing bothering me though...it's the status bar on my A500. When I first bought the theme all was ok but after update the circular circuit icons under Back - Home - Recent Apps are off center. At least I'm pretty sure they weren't like that at first...Upon opening something "fullscreen" like pictures or movies they are correctly placed but after returning home they are offset vertically again.
After last update my status bar Back Home and Recent backgrounds are still a bit offset and the notifications/toggles area has some parts bright blue.

Hi HunnyBearLewis,
I can confirm what you're seeing with the bright blue parts of the notification area. This is a result of me getting back to the Tablet UI, and I ran out of time yesterday to completely address it I will be doing my best to get that looking proper, but it does seem that the CM Theme Engine has some issues with tablet layouts (they weren't around in CM7).
Otherwise, with the notification button spacing, I believe this may be an issue that stems from AOKP, as I have not changed any metrics for spacing, or even image dimensions (they're the same as stock, just with my design). I'll still keep it in mind though and try to address it. FWIW, on my TF101, the navbar buttons appear a lot closer to each other, but then again, I have 5.
Anyways, I know I haven't said much helpful stuff, but I'll always be working to improve/fix these issues! Thanks for your patience and reporting.
can you make the keyboard a separated flashable zip? so i can flash it in my dx
Hi all,
I just wanted to post up a quick note to let you know that I always check this thread and I always take everyone's recommendations seriously (and thank you for them!). There are a few issues with v1.0.4 (the current version) of the theme, mainly with the Tablet UI notification popup area (blue glitch), and I hope to fix those for the next update.
Life is a struggle for me (as I'm sure it is with many), but as I am a freelancer and work for myself (mainly doing web design/hosting), it is tough for me to dedicate a huge amount of hours to the theme. That said though, it is truly a passion of mine as I also use the PCB theme myself. I will always continue to work on improving it, but please please be patient.
Understandably, website design + hosting is a bit more lucrative than my theme in the Market, BUT I sincerely want to thank everyone who has purchased it, as it really means a lot to me. Please help me by rating the theme and also tweeting/spreading the word about it. I've still got some nice plans for the future, and I will surely work them into the theme over time.
Thanks again for reading this, I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up as to why I haven't been as active as I was over the past few weeks (although I hope that will change!).
Cheers!
Great theme. Found a bug with the usb debugging icon in the notification pull down.
Found a couple more bugs with the battery style. The battery bar in the status bar style doesn't work. It's blank instead of showing it. And here's a couple of glitches with different battery styles. And wouldn't it look better if the battery was blue to match the theme, unless perhaps it's charging or close to dying? That's my opinion at least. This is an hdpi device, by the way. Also, not too fond of it changing the wallpaper. Sorry for the long list

Thanks PonsAsinorem, I know the battery icons are a bit messed up, so I will fix that for the next version (revert the other 'non-circle mod' icons back to stock), although I'm not too sure I'll make them blue just yet (other priorities and fixes to be done first).
In terms of that USB Debugging Icon background within the pulldown list, I have seen it before with other apps too, but I still cannot find where that image is located. It has eluded me for the longest time, but I'll go on another hunt soon
Otherwise, I hope these can be considered minor issues, but I'll definitely try to fix them quickly too.

Hi Spyr0s, I can confirm this, and my goal was to fix Pons' issues (via that screenshot previously) with the Battery Text Mode. Looks like another thing I cannot fully solve, so it's going to be one way (no CM9 circle battery icon) or the other (battery text modes will be borked).
Please leave your thoughts as to what you might prefer, because my goal is to always take feedback that would help make PCB better.
On a side note, the Tablet UI issues have been fixed, and a few other change log items have been added to v1.0.5 of PCB Blue. Here's the Google Play change log:
• Fixed incorrect battery icons being shown on anything other than "CircleMOD" option
• Improved keyboard background scaling on different DPIs / tablets
• Colourized soft keys/navbar icons to match theme colour
• Optimized resource XMLs
• [TABLET UI] Fixed display issues with Notification Area
• [TABLET UI] Created a new status bar background
• [TABLET UI] Improved spacing of notification buttons / softkeys
► Please remember to (re)rate to help our listing r0ank!
Hope you're still enjoying it...Cheersch!

The issue you are trying to fix is an AOKP bug, not a theme issue. Theme Manager was created by CM9 team for CM9 ROMs, if themes are not working correct then AOKP must find a way to fix it rather than just copy the CM9 code.
With your solution in 1.0.5 every CM9 user is being left with unthemed battery icon. I've used Blue Infinitum theme with AOKP and "Icon only" gives you themed icon, "text only" gives you themed text and "Circle Mod" gives you stock battery icon and of course CM9 works fine.
If it's borked due to improper aokp implementation, I'd switch it back. Don't want to short change other users because of it. And I don't use those modes anyways, I was just testing and looking for bugs. Apparently the status bar battery bar does work, you just have to go back in and reset your option and reset the color, even though it's selected. Perhaps we need to get with aokp about their implementation of the theme engine to figure out how best to solve this, for completeness sake. Thanks for working on this.
Hey guys, thanks for the follow up, and helping me understand what exactly is going on here. Keep in mind, I never want to deprive anyone from features/functionality in my theme, however as we know, all ROMs are not created equal (that would be pretty boring wouldn't it?!).
I'll run some more tests, etc., and try to come to a happy solution that doesn't screw with anyone too much Will update with more as I make progress.
Have a great weekend in the meantime all!

Try switching to the System Theme first, then Reboot immediately. Once you're back into Android, try applying PCB Blue again. The theme doesn't have any 'device-specific' resources, so it should work provided your ROM with Theme Chooser support is built properly.
Please let me know what happens.

I've called this 'MarksTheme' because I'm Mark, and I made most of this theme.
I'm not really into the codewriting of it all, infact I rarely venture into so much as an XML, but I do like things to look nice.
I'm a fine-arts photographer by profession, a very visual person, I make and source png's and bring them together in this theme as whatever I feel looks nice.

Problems?
If you are asking for help, try and help yourself first.
flash a rom, make sure the rom works, flash the theme, make sure the theme works, flash extras and check that they work.
'repair ext filesystems' helps the 'stuck at G1 bootscreen' thing.
'fix_permissions' can help problems with forcecloses.
clearing caches helps with software freaking out.
Theme problem? reflash the theme.
Still a problem? reflash the ROM, then the theme.
Bigger problem? reflash HTC 1.6, then the ROM, then the theme.
Big-Ass problem? Wipe, reflash HTC 1.6, then the ROM, then the theme.
Holy F*****g Crap? Format and repartition your SD, Wipe phone, reflash HTC 1.6, then the ROM, then the theme.
It's up to you to go out there and find out how to do these things properly.

theme name and version
what is the problem

FAQ's
After installing it's taking forever to boot up - it can take up to 30 minutes to get past the G1 screen sometimes with a first install
My Gmail isn't coming in automatically - clear gmail cache and data, then reboot, usually fixes it
I applied the themed google apps and something isn't working - flash the standard google apps from HERE
It all went to crap and I didn't make a nandroid backup - then you're a muppet.
I've got a problem and I want you to fix it - aint happening, first thing you should do is look through this thread, or search through it, if you have no luck then look in threads for other themes for the same ROM, if that fails then put up a shout in here, maybe I can help, maybe someone smarter than me can help, maybe.
Can you change X? I don't like it. - short answer = no. Long answer = this theme is how I like it, I listen to all ideas and suggestions and maybe I'll change something based on that if I like the idea or enough people ask for it, thats why there are three versions of the lockscreen and no lockscreen in the basic theme, also there are a load of custom launchers. When I have the time I make pretty stuff.
Who the hell are you anyway? - google is your friend, it ain't hard.

I'm releasing two wallpaper packs of my photography.
These packs are in zip files, unzip to a suitably named folder on your SD card and then navigate to the image you want to use in your phone.
Please remember folks that this photography is how I make my living, therefore these wallpapers , photographs and the packs they are distributed in Exclusively By Me may not be re-distributed, altered, manipulated or changed in any way, nor may they be claimed or implied to be the property of or the work of anyone else.
The first wallpaper pack isn't family friendly, therefore you need to click HERE to see the index of images and HERE to download the zip
You may only do so if the laws of the country you reside in say that you are old enough to look at boobs
The second wallpaper pack is totally family friendly, the index image is shown below, and the zip can be downloaded HERE

These are a few apps that I use and like, no affiliation blah blah blah, some are free, some are paid (c'mon, they're cheap!), search for them in Android Market, in no particular order:
CacheMate clears your cache, either when you tell it to or periodically, sweeet.
Pure Calendar Widget (agenda) the neatest and most configurable I've found.
PowerTime Widget the best chance you've got of predicting how much juice is left in your battery
Advanced Task Manager among it's many cool features is an auto-kill for running apps (with an ignore list), nice.
File Explorer (Quick Finder) for exploring your files, and, erm, quick finding them, I guess..
GDE - The new home experience! that cool cube homescreen thing, you know it, it's sweet dude.
Bettercut custom icons for your shortcuts
Handcent SMS (NEW) the nicest (and now very configurable and customisable) messaging app.
WeatherBug Elite Weather prediction is important in my work, this has sh1tloads of data
MyBackup Pro does what it says
Screenshot ditto
Snowstorm Weather Widget this one stands out because it'd 4x1 can 4 days or split the day into 4 periods, so the displayed weather prediction is accurate to 6 hours instead of 24 (it's gonna rain today huh? when?) see what I mean?
Backup for root users another backup thingy
Overclock Widget keep it nice and easy when the screen is off, then ramp that puppy up when you're using it!
Nightwatch when I plug my phone into my charger, anytime between midnight and 6am (configurable), it automatically fires up a nice bedside clock, win!
Sticky Memo Widget Pro I have a rubbish memory, I like notes...
Retro Clock Widget pretty clock widgets
gTasks google tasks, nice to-to list
Steel browser, prefer it to stock
Y5 Battery Saver learns where your preferred wifi is at and turns wifi off when you're not there, thus saving juice (doesn't use GPS)
Quickpedia wikipedia app, because I like to look clever by knowing stuff about stuff
Twit2go twitter client, like it.
If anyone wants to include any of their free apps with my theme, let me know and if I like it we're on, I can also be bribed with pounds stirling, guinness, chocolate muffins and naked girls.

One thing though, I noticed there are "ghost" images in the app drawer (images of the apps above it). Is that on purpose?

not sure about the red background myself, I added it after changing the buttons so they'd stand out, might shift them back onto black in next update.

ok, I'll check it out, I just saw it too on mine.
Good to know it's not just me.
Ok, after messing with it, I got a few suggestions for the next release.
1. The background for the keyboard would look good either completely transparent or an opaque black, like the app drawer.
2. Do away with the "hypnotizing eye" loading animation and use something, cleaner and with more pop. This theme is way too clean to be using somthing that looks like a runic symbol.
3. For the app drawer pull tab, use either white, black or red. White would be best because it would look like the glow was coming from your trackball (which, on my MT3G, it does.)
4. Also, has anyone thought to make the pull tab look like the notification bar? that would make a clean and simple border for both ends of the screen, and give it some unification and symmetry.

Hey everyone, I was down at david1171 place and he has taught me the basics of how to theme. Seeing as this is the first go-round for me, I would appreciate any and all feedback you care to give.
This dark theme is my adaptation of david1171's Minus-X theme and includes brandenk's app drawer tab and a calendar template from Ted417 (thanks guys). I have posted a base version of the theme for cyanogen roms cause the different adp google apps can break on i know at least the 32a magics so this is without google apps or the lockscreen, the dvanced launcher is included though. Add-ons include David1171's skinned 2.0 apps, Stericsons lockscreen, an add-on for Google Nav
Special thanks to david1171 (buy the man some noodles) and pretty much everyone that he thanks for his theme, ted417, brandenk and pershoot for keeping up Stericson's lockscreen. If I forgot anyone, please shoot david a PM or find me on androidoverdrive.com and I will include your name as well.
And everyone: Please, please provide any feedback and/or suggestions here...Thank you

hey guys give me some feedback to make this a better theme
i flashed this yesterday for 4.2.6 and now theres 4.2.7.1 lol i like this theme alot...i've been looking for a nice black theme and this is it. i don't even know what to tell you that could help...if anything maybe add a solid black keyboard like a gloss type and maybe do the same for the music, power, and search widgets. im not really a big fan of the boot screen but its nice so i can't complain, but this theme is nice, good work man!!
Edit: I guess what i was tryin to say about the widgets is maybe make em more glossy black and not so much white in em? don't know if that makes any sense lol
Good theme but better with the keyboard on this black thème : http://a5-studios.com/dwang/Themes/
and without this bad pic : http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae145/david1171/grid/device4.png
I love the pulldown but I like the app drawer background more I guess (yeah, I'm pouting cause he's gonna change it). A lil more black can never hurt. And my son loves the bootscreen...

Alright, keyboard is redone and I have a new status bar pulldown image that flows better with this theme. Will add them in the next release, next onto the power control widget
Also I forgot to do the progress bars and the dialer during phone call
Hopefully I should have a new release out tonight or tomorrow
made some to changes so we got a v1.0 now, check the changelog
just flashed it and the changes look real good, especially the keyboard...the only suggestion i have is the pull down background maybe make it like a solid transparent black?? and if you can make it glossy at the bottom like the first one (i liked that affect) other than that good work bro, keep it up.

Well I would but then I think it will be kinda boring, I really like the new pulldown a lot better than the old one but if you want a solid black semi transparent I could make a small flashpack for you that will just overwrite that image
Also I am working on the settings widget icon's kinda want something else for them, when you suggested taking the white out were you reffering to the icons or the surrounding the widgets

naw thats cool, its not a big deal at all and this pull down is nice too so you don't have to do that. I was talkin about the white around the widgets i guess its a border and maybe use a widget like the community hero power one. i think the border is like a glossy black, the icons are white and theres like a button or something under them that lets you know when its on. or the one from marks theme, his is transparent with the icons i think but you would have to change the icons and i don't know how easy or hard this stuff lol. i think something like either one of those would be tight. but ultimatly it's up to you lol, either way i'm still gonna use this theme cause i like it a lot
EDIT: i did notice when i was using the internet that the address bar looks white on white (the writing blends in with the address bar) not a big deal but i just wanted you to know in case you wanted to change it.
Yes I know about the progress bar, I gotta go into the xml and edit it. I didn't even notice that it was that light till this morning, so I gotta fix that and make it more of a dark gray or something like that.
I will look into the widget and the border I was playing with the border yesterday but since it is a .9png that gets streched it is kinda a pain in the ass to work with but I still am. I am not sure exactly what I am gonna do yet with it, I was playing around with different ideas yesterday of what I wanna do with them so something soon will be coming soon
Also I am gonna regloss out the bottom of the pulldown
I still gotta get around to the smily icons too but I haven't found any that I really like that small
I am also looking for a font to go with it but everything I find comes out either too small or too big or looks like a jarbled mess on the screen. If anyone knows what program I can use to edit .ttf please let me know
cool...i'm not good with all this stuff but i'll keep my open for you on the .ttf editor
I understand, I am just getting better with doing it myself. It's a good thing I am good at figuring stuff out or at least good at pressing random buttons.
is it hard to create themes? i've wanted to give it a shot but i don't even know where to start at lol
Once you set up adb and get your phone connected then it is mostly a matter of opening up your .apks framework res with something like 7zip then go into your drawable folder and editting the .pngs. try to stay away from the .9pngs cause they are a pain in the ass cause they need to be compiled
It really isn't all that hard but it is very time consuming to do just one image and then flash it test it and check it
Thankfully I was at david1171's place and he taught me the basics
do you have just the dark music widget update?
Not to shabby minus the grim reaper lol
The grim reaper is the avatar that I used everywhere for a long time so I made it my boot screen if you like the just the music than I could make a flash pack for just that if you like
To the people that have d/led my theme what do you think of the statusbar pulldown image(yes I know I forgot to post the screenshot of it) the more that I look at it the more I really like it and am thinking bout carrying it over to other parts of the theme like maybe the widgets backgrounds at first

Contains:
Apollo (CM10)
AOSP Keyboard (stock)
Browser (stock)
Framework
People (contacts)
Phone
Settings
SystemUI
Trebuchet
Note: After applying the theme, a reboot may be required to make sure all changes go into effect, including the background and status bar (especially if it disappears on you entirely).
Color hex code (for any custom settings) : #FF0000 (#FFFF0000)
AOKP Users
Settings > Rom Control : No icons are themed. I originally based the update off CM10. I've been able to flash it and will be updating for AOKP-specific items soon (including the Rom Control icon in the home settings screen), just need some time to get everything situated for it
To make everything red, you have to manually set these options (until I find out if I can set them via the theme...)
Settings > Rom Control > Navigation Bar > "Navigation bar glow color" : change hex to #FFFF0000 > Set > [click the color in the right box just above where you entered the hex]
You don't need to change "Navigation bar color", I already did that, even though it looks white in settings
CircleMod images will be coming in the next update.
Battery Bar enabled? Same as the first bullet, change hex code to #FFFF0000
Toggles: Icon toggle style will be updated. Text toggle style : change "Toggle Text Color" and "Enabled Indicator Color" to hex : #FFFF0000
Stock Launcher will be updated as well.
If you see anything that I missed and did not cover in this list, please let me know!!
Issues / Soon to be Fixed
(AOKP) : Settings > Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Battery icon style > (Set to) Text Only : If you use this, it will be blue, because it changes depending on the charge status and level. Still looking in to whether I have power to change that via a theme. If not, it's something AOKP needs to change at the Rom level.
(Codename) : Volume Slider and Keyboard hide icon (Thanks Sardo Numspa!)
Big thanks to solarus2011 for the permission to use his style icon for my apps!

I've added special instructions to the OP for AOKP users, due to their customization settings. I'm looking to see if I can edit certain areas without the user having to go thru and set them up every time you flash a new theme, but in the mean time that's all I have.
I've also listed a few things that are not completely themed in AOKP, but an update will be coming soon addressing those missing pieces (mostly the Rom Control icon in settings, as well as all of the icons within the Rom Control area), and the stock Launcher (CM10 uses it's own "Trebuchet" launcher, I doubt it'll be too different though).
If you see any where else that isn't themed (that should be at this moment), please let me know! Screen shots are a huge plus!
Just flashed codename android and the things I've noticed are mostly in the email and gmail apps. Don't want to put a screenshot now due to all my private info on it.
Also, just a small item, the volume slider
Just spotted another one, in the bottom left corner, the down arrow to exit the keyboard

I'll give Codename a try, but I may not be able to if they use a different color style for that. I'll check it out Gmail and Email are not themed, so there will definitely be blue in there. The only reason theres red (or your screen shots, green) is because of they use android framework images when selecting, which are themed. That's why theres some overlap. And I'll get the Keyboard hide icon checked out too, not sure why their Rom is missing that but AOKP/CM10 work as they should (could just be a naming convention).
Thanks for the screens!
PS. Sardo, you know you posted a green screenshot in my Red theme thread, right??

Lol yea I just updated and posted in Green a few minutes ago. It only had one post so honestly I didn't know if anyone even installed it lol... It's all good though, I made a note of it in the OP (both)... maybe for this thread just taking out the green screens if you could, I'd appreciate it, to keep the confusion to a minimum
* In case I hadn't said it though, I do appreciate the screens and the info that I'm missing some aspects... There isn't enough time in the world for me to set up and test it on every Rom available lol. Thanks for posting all of it!
Awesome theme bazar, currently rocking the red one and I must say I really like it. My theme I'll be using for a while.
Edit: You still doing a grey version? And I was wondering if you would do a yellow version?

What's up ghoticov! I haven't tried, but I don't see why it shouldn't. Since you don't have to flash it, but apply it in Theme Chooser, it should work with any Rom that supports the Theme Chooser. If EOS does, then you should be good to go
Let me know if you see anything missing.

Would people be interested in a darker version of the Settings, popups, and general UI of the ZF2 that the theme chooser doesn't affect?

You didn't tell how you will achieve this goal.
If it will be in the form of patches for system apps/framework, then i don't need.
ASUS actively updates ROM and system apps (even through google play) and patches will add instability and other side effects.
But at the same time i would be glad to see extended themes allowing to change system-wide GUI style if ASUS theme engine supports it.
There are patches for some GAPPS. While patched apps (dark theme) are looking nice, i found that with every update (and GAPPS updated very often) i had to look for new patched version or even wait for it. So, after several such iterations, i gave up and just got used to white theme.

Sorry to disappoint, but right now modding the system apps/framework is the only way to achieve this. Technically you could use the theme engine to mod the system app, but that defeats the purpose. The theme engine in its current state doesn't have permission to change these types of files.
The only thing that I'm changing in the settings files are color values so it hasn't added any instability. Hunting for these values though...
My goal for this was to make a temporary change to settings, but I could write a script to reupdate it after a new OTA rolls in.
Nice progress, would love to have all black menus, quicksetting and popups, autoblack gapps too if possible like Dark Material theme I was using with cm, no need for modded gapps
I won't be updating anymore, waiting for native linux for dual boot. I used the Light ZE550 Rom and striped it down to ~500Mb with everything working for VoIP and quickcharge; much more can be removed though especially if we use Nova launcher. Booting at 3.1-3.3Gb Free RAM with 720P resolution ; close to 50200 Antutu and 4320 Vellamo Browser. Especially that ASUS will lock the bootloader with upcoming releases, ART will not be replaced in the near future.

Instead of using this settings mod, it might be easier to use a module for xposed like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342570
I used something similar to Asus themes to edit settings theme, but the problem with this method that you cant edit everything with it, and many text colors hard coded in layout xml files which it cant be themed with RRO/Layers.
So for settings its better to make full apk and use it every update until Asus added new features to settings then you have to update it
And i tried to edit SystemUI and its hard compared to Samsung SystemUI or any AOSP SystemUI, Asus used .png and .9 files for pretty much everything in SystemUI Quick Settings which is ridiculous because if you added "Themes" to the ROM you should make easier to theme System apps to get more themes just like what Samsung did with S6 themes you can change everything in any stock app easily
That's my SystemUI theme

The same goes for xml editing. Even when I try to change one color for one text part, it ends up changing the color in someplace I don't want to to change.
Well i guess since CM12.1 has dark settings themes, this is moot now.

There must be a way to port CM themes to Stock. e.g. Dark Material, will try to contact app developer since I paid for that and we already exchanged many emails
CM has tons of bugs, can't stand it, I like more Asus's Framework and UI. Only changing the colors would be awesome. Asus can do that easily, you can join Asus Beta program to request anything, they also do phones and accessories drafts  :
http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=11202
http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=forumdisplay&fid=39
http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=13350&extra=page=1
I have been using CM for years and just realised how it lacked stock features, stability and compatibility.
At least, Asus responds pretty fast to any concerns [email protected]
Got my responses in under an hour from Asus while requesting a critical bug fix in CM for over 2 years did not give any result, mainly the unresponsive lockscreen bug that happens up to 8x a day. Guess what? It happened to my G2 since 2013 and still happened with my G3 last month and that is with the paid version of CM Updater LoL
I just feel shameful after gifting a phone with the latest cyanogenmod or installing it to a friend which kept telling me the phone is freezing in lockscreen.
Sure if you don't use your phone, you won't notice but I use it for everything, from University books, calls, VoIP, television, medical applications, car diagnostic to Office applications.
Imagine after writing a 2000 word text file, your device freezes or random reboots. I never had a single freeze or reboot with Stock ROM since this awesome phone was released except when using Amplify (Also delayed incoming calls and notifications) that I paid and removed soon after. Those are some of the reasons its better to stick with OEM ROM. Its the same story with modded Windows vs OEM Windows.
@aziz07
they can do that with themes but they have to edit some lines in settings and other stock apps also
they have to remove any hard coded color in layout xmls and relink any background color from framework to same app colors, like this
https://github.com/LayersTeam
In Galaxy S6 you can theme everything easily and they have also app to create themes for devs
But Asus did nothing they only implement RRO to the ROM and throw some themes in the store without working to make it better and easier for users to create themes
What happened to the dark menus screen shots in your post #6? Really liked that even more than monochrome dark material in cm.
Release it asap! Yalla xD

This is Rain, an LG Home+ theme for your LG G8, LG V40, LG V50 running Android 9. This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! Rain is a dark theme with some bright gradient accents throughout. The Dark Notifications compliment the ui and battery life! The app icons have a slight gradient to them, with some more noticeable than others. This theme does not support adaptive icons as some of the key features of this theme are blocked by enabling the adaptive icons. If you'd prefer adaptive you will need to use a third party launcher like Hyperion or Nova.
No need to run a third party theme system any more, just use the system theme chooser and you can enjoy all the benefits of an advanced theme system.
To apply the theme simply go into settings/display and select themes. From there select Rain, and push apply! then reboot and then reapply the theme again. It's a bit more in depth than other themes but given the complexity of this premium theme it is required for all elements to be themed properly. Also it is not recommended to "Hide the second screen/notch"'. This may cause some system apps to look odd.
That's it! Simple, easy and quick.
This theme is also meant to run at the highest resolution, with the lowest stock setting for the actual display size. Larger sizes may cause some elements to look slightly off. If this happens please lower the display sizes of the iconography.
Now for the only part that real matters!!!! Screenshot all the thingies!
Enjoy!!!
G Theme 3
Click me for Video Promo
t's back!!! This is G Theme 3. Why G Theme you ask? Well I think you can figure that out when you use it what it's all about. This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! G Theme 3 is a dark theme with beautiful colors and designs throughout it. The Dark Notifications compliment the ui and battery life! This theme supports adaptive icons and I recommended choosing circle which is unlocked as a feature and can be accessed from going into the settings application and then going into display, home and choose the icon shape. Due to this the music app does have a light overlay at the bottom which is a bug that LG should address!!! For real LG fix that will ya.
Now this is the important part. This theme is only for LG devices running UX 6, Android 8.0 Oreo. If you are running a different LG UX or android version this will not work and if you upgrade from the above this theme may not work properly. It is presented on an "as is basis". I do my best to try and update to allow for the theme to function on all devices as best I can and as soon as I can. However due to LG's interesting update cycle sometimes one device may update prior to others.
To apply the theme simply go into settings/display and select themes. From there select Twilight, and push apply! then reboot and then reapply the theme again. It's a bit more in depth than other themes but given the complexity of this premium theme it is required for all elements to be themed properly.
That's it! Simple, easy and quick.
The theme comes with a coral wallpaper but if you'd like to have it animated simply grab this add on and set it as a live wallpaper and you'll be all set. Since most Lg Devices don't support seamless wallpapers just download this and install it and set as your live wall and enjoy!
Live Wallpaper right Here!!!
Please note that refunds will not be given for installations on non UX 6 (running Oreo) Devices. As the title of the theme clearly indicates which device this is for and this app description does specify which OS version is supported..
This theme is also meant to run at the highest resolution, with the lowest stock setting for the actual display size. Larger sizes may cause some elements to look slightly off. If this happens please lower the display sizes of the iconography.
If you run into any issues please send me an email directly instead of leaving a poor rating. Often I am very quick to reply and great to solve any issues. The review system is not meant to be a support channel!
Thank you so much for your support and I hope you enjoy this theme. I've worked extremely hard on this and by far it was the most challenging and time consuming project I've ever made!
Instructional video on how to apply Alpha, see below
You will need ADB installed on your pc: Right here
You will also need the substratum app as well as the Andromeda app and the Desktop client for Andromeda
This thread is for support and feedback for my LG Substratum themes and legacy LG themes. with the update to 8.0 Oreo substratum is now supported without rooting your device. Due to the capabilities with Substratum all previous LG themes will be referred to as "Legacy themes" and the primary focus has shifted to Substratum. Since substratum can provide everything that an LG theme can provide and more it makes the most sense to evolve and transcend into the more advanced theming system.
So this is my first theme "Alpha". It has a double meaning and I feel is appropriate for this theme. Let's stop with the chit chat and post a few screenshots and if you're looking for a way to pass the time then keep reading! I promise you the literature doesn't get any better, but have at it!
Oh hey everyone! Again, I didn't see ya there. You just snuck right up on me now didn't ya bud. Well it's that time again. Another new beautiful LG device is upon us and I had to get it. So it must mean it's time for another fun theme discussion and feedback thread. Now I must get this next bit out of the way to make it clear what the purpose of this thread is. 1: I am not here to sell my work whatsoever and that is not the purpose of this thread. Posts regarding updates, screenshots or other communication are strictly for the purposes of obtaining feedback on what I do. and to see if users are pleased with said changes. 2: I will never post a direct link to anything I make that is paid as that is not allowed and I expect that as users you will not post links either.
My V20 and G6 threads are absolutely fantastic and I encourage you all to check it out at some point if you wish to see how I interact with people. I cannot thank you all enough who have supported me and given me feedback and interacted with me in any way to discuss things theme related. Don't be shy about commenting or giving suggestions or feedback provided it is constructive and is done in a mature and professional manner. Feel free to joke around a bit and have some fun. That's what it's all about anyway. It's a very positive and fairly active thread. Users often give me feedback which is incredibly valuable and also post pics of any bug fixes. That allows me to quickly address issues.
First things first to any mods who may be peeping it is important to note that I am complying with xda rules and there are zero paid direct links posted anywhere in this thread by me. So there are no rules being violated. Rule 11 states that I can use xda to get user feedback on paid applications and that is what this thread is for so I am well within rule 11 which can be found here:
11. Don?t post with the intention of selling something.
Don?t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software or commercial services, unless you?re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Encouraging members to participate in forum activities on other phone related sites is prohibited.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
Off-site downloads from sites requiring registration are NOT encouraged but may be permitted if both of the following conditions are met:
A) The site belongs to a member of XDA-Developers with at least 1500 posts and 2 years membership, who actively maintains an XDA-Developers support thread(s) / posts, related to the download.
B) The site is a relatively small, personal website without commercial advertising / links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)
Be sure to follow me on google plus to stay up to date and get additional theme information regarding updates and other testing and feedback.
So this thread is for all those who are using any of my themes where we can come discuss things, give feedback and post screens etc of what I've been working on. I will continue to add new themes and post screens of my work here and interact with all of you. Remember, I ask that you be civil to myself and other members and keep any feedback constructive.
Pixel 2
This is Pixel 2 theme. This is my take on the Pixel 2 Ui on your LG V30 or LG G6 using UX 6/6+. What you will find is the high standards and attention to the small details that you have come to expect from every single one of my designs. I have created and evolved the way we look at themes in general for LG and set the bar where others will surely try to copy. This is my interpretation on the Pixel 2. Now sit back and enjoy the refreshing yet familiar experience. Do not be fooled by imitations or knock offs that will take shortcuts in order to say they support 20 different LG devices. You know you're getting a brand and quality with me. Now let's have some fun shall we?

G Theme 2 & G Theme 2 Light
This is G Theme 2. You know what the G is for and that is what the backbone of this is. What you will find is the high standards and attention to the small details that you have come to expect from my designs. I have integrated some very familiar and comfortable elements and added some bright and colorful flare to really make it pop! This is the third chapter in the G Theme series.
G Theme 2 is absolutely gorgeous. It is pixel perfection with vectored iconography with all the little details you've been wanting in a theme. You can stop looking for that one theme, it is here.
G Theme 2 brings you crisp and clean and redesigned icons, stunning animated check and radio selectors overhauled from the ground up featuring a morphing design that flourishes, as well as an appropriate long shadow being cast as well as the retraction. The quick settings icons and settings icons features long shadows and the floating action button has been redesigned and implemented throughout the theme. And the keyboard has been reconstructed to replicate the new dark G board style with boarders.
Echo
Please take a minute or two and read this. There are a few things that will help you out if you're lost or confused on a couple things.
This is Echo. What make this theme unique is that it the first and original theme to truly invert the stock ui while retaining features no other theme can do. Echo is all about choice. As the user you should be able to choose if your icons have the default icon frame background or not. You should be able to choose if your navigation bar is white or black... Personally white isn't my thing for this theme but hey it's there if you want! Please don't rate me 1 star and send me a silly message if your navbar is white when you apply this! It may be white if you have it set to be white in settings! As I said it's all about choice so you can set it how you like!
The calendar and clock icons are dynamic in this theme too! And the setting icons will retain the colorful backgrounds they were meant to have! No other theme out there can even come close to giving these to you in such a beautifully inverted style. There are also subtle changes where I felt a few things could be improved from the default light theme.
This theme is meant to run at high resolution only. I do not support lower resolutions and it is not recommended to set it below QHD! This theme is only compatible with UX 6 or UX 6+. Unfortunately I will not be making a UX 5 version of this theme for those wondering as there are too many things that cannot be done on it.
Dark Aosp
It's been a long time coming for this one and today the time has come for Dark Aosp to come to your V30 and G6!
This theme utilizes the dark mode settings found in vanilla Android with a few twists based on your feedback. It is clean, minimal and a very smooth experience. It is also the only theme that uses a true material minimal keyboard, simulating the flat style found in the stock Aosp or Google keyboard!
I hope you will enjoy this one and if you do please take a minute to drop a rating and comment too!
PixTerial
This is PixTerial. This theme is what happens when you combine Pixel Ui with some Material Design and add in some darkness! It's a very clean theme with subtle animations, with an inverted ui of the Pixel Ui. Now throw in some fresh and fun iconography and you have a beautiful theme to enjoy.
Pixel Experience
This is the Pixel Experience. For those who want to enjoy a lighter theme with minimal, subtle changes that want to be able to set it and forget it without having to worry about constant Google app updates and be able to enjoy the Pixel look. This is for you and you're gonna love it! Like Alpha this theme will be updated regularly and will continue to grow as time goes by. Enjoy the clean and refreshing look and experience the Pixel!!! #WhiteUiMustLive
Now you probably didn't bother to read that crap above so let's just post some screenshots shall we?
Some users may experience some readability issues in Settings/storage. So for those who can't deal with these speed bumps I've made a patch for this. It's actually 12 patches so it will take about 30-40 seconds to apply it.
Instructions on how to apply patches are here (same method for settings fix as well as light notifications):
How to install the patch: First update the theme to the latest version. Then download the patches for what you're trying to do. Next change to stock theme. Then install the patches. Then after you've installed them apply Pixel Experience. Next reboot and you'll be all set. If you experience some force closes that is because you didn't revert to stock theme and installed the patches while using Pixel Experience
Here is the patches for the settings fix:

Pixel Experience Dark
Welcome to the dark side. This is Pixel Experience Dark! Including dark notifications! I'm really proud of this and how it turned out! Please take the time to read the app description as there is some important information in there for your benefit which will help you get the best experience out of this theme! Also in the description are optional patches which are theme specific!
So go get it and please drop me a quick rating and if you'd also be so kind to give this a quick share too that would be great!
Screenshots!!!
I've also included a patch for Light notifications because some people mention that they're having difficulties with some apps like whatsapp or telegram where the user name is black on a dark background or that they have a light shadow around said text to make it somewhat readable. If you wish you can install the patch and the entire theme will remain as is but the notifications will be light and you won't have any issues at all.
Also I have a patch for a settings fix. So basically this is the only theme that has been able to change the settings icon backs to have different colors than stock. There is only one method to do it because unlike the G7 they hardcoded them in smali which I can't touch. So due to this some south korean users have experienced a force close in settings (even though I asked them to send me a log so I could fix it none of them ever did). Also there are a few other issues for some dual sim users in settings and a couple screens like storage, accounts that just don't quite look right. These are essentially collateral damage and cannot be fixed if we want to have true Android pie style colored settings icons. So for those who can't deal with these speed bumps I've made a patch for this. It's actually 12 patches so it will take about 30-40 seconds to apply it.

Since this theme pushes the boundaries of the LG Theme system it retains adaptive and dynamic icons on stock launcher. Due to this you will have to select your navbar color in settings, display, home touch buttons. Simply select the dark navbar color. Unfortunately when you select dark it gives you black. This may bother some as it will not be the identical dark shade that the theme uses so I've also made another patch for users who want it to match. This however will kill the adaptive and dynamic icons so decide which option you prefer because unfortunately due to system limitations you simply cannot have both. Like the previous patch just install it, reapply the theme and reboot. If you use a third party launcher this patch should most definitely be used. link to patch: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JddcJfr9RPwgVbZUnH4kfe-88RdsIFxS
Twilight
See bottom of description for Quick Settings and Dialer Add-on Patches!
This is Twilight an LG Home+ theme for your LG V20, G6, V30, G5 running Oreo only (Pie is not yet supported!!!) This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! Twilight is a dark theme with bright gradient accents throughout. This theme does not support adaptive icons as some of the key features of this theme are blocked by enabling the adaptive icons. If you'd prefer adaptive you will need to use a 3rd party launcher like Hyperion.
3rd party Quick Settings Icons:
Some apps allow the user to add a shortcut activity to the quick settings panel. This is not supported by this theme whatsoever. If you decided to add any icons to your quick settings panel they will not show up. They will be 100% transparent. They cannot be added. If this bothers you then in a future update I will make an add-on quick settings patch that will add usability back for them, however it will sacrifice the creativity of the current structure of both styles of available quick settings icons. It will be more minimal and all the icons will be the same color like how most themes are. Due to the complexity and advanced nature of this theme this is something that I am aware of and have embraced 100%.
To apply the theme simply go into settings/display and select themes. From there select Twilight, and push apply!
Please note that refunds will not be given for installations on non LG V20, G6, V30, G5 Oreo Devices. The title of the theme clearly indicates which device this is for and the description also specify which OS version is supported..
This theme is also meant to run at the highest resolution, with the lowest stock setting for the actual display size. Larger sizes may cause some elements to look slightly off. If this happens please lower the display sizes of the iconography.
If you run into any issues please send me an email directly instead of leaving a poor rating. Often I am very quick to reply (unless I'm sleeping and you're in a different time zone) and great to solve any issues. The review system is not a direct support channel!
Quick tip... Search and install the app "Quick Shortcut Maker" on google play. Install, then set a 1x1 quick shortcut maker widget and drag it on your home screen. Then in the activities tab, scroll down to "Themes", expand it. touch 1st option at the top of the list that doesn't have and upwards arrow. Hit Create" button at the bottom and now you have a themes app shortcut.
This theme as you can see from the screen previews shows two different styles of Quick Settings icons. This is because I designed both styles and had a tough time deciding on which ones to go with so I decided to make them both. Minimum are default. If you wish to change them simply install the corresponding patch to the style that you want. After you've installed the patch, apply the default LG theme. Then reboot and reapply the theme. If you wish to change back the original style you can repeat the above process using the other patch. I've uploaded and clearly labeled both patches. Those along with other dark notification patches can be found here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288984
There is also a patch for the V20/G5 and G6/V30 for the dialer. Because these devices have a different screen resolution I could not make a universal round dialer app. I had to make it just plain black by default but you can install a patch for it as well. These are in the same folder as the quick settings add-ons in the above link. To apply them follow the same steps. V20/G6 Dialer: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288982
V30/G6 Dialer: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288984

I see a lot of black and white but the back of my device is silver. ?
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk.
Great idea! I'll definitely be doing some nice dark ones. I had to do this first because well it's th3 Pixel 2! ???
Have you tested any of your themes with a modified DPI? I downloaded a different V30 theme yesterday, and when it didn't look as shown in screenshots, I eventually found that it was the custom DPI. As soon as I reverted to an official setting, it looked as expected.

Do you mean via adb or using the dpi options included in stock? I imagine using adb it will kill the theme. If i recall the V20 was like that and it was simply beyond our control. I myself have not tried the adb method but did try the stock way and all seemed fine.

It was done through ADB. I miss just how small I could make text on the Note8, so I set it to 500 using a shell command. It applied most of the theme after, but certain elements didn't apply correctly.

Gotcha. I figured as much. What wasn't applied? Depending on what was affected there may be a work around. We can support different dpi folders and I'm starting to use only vectors in the regular drawable folder Which in theory should hit everything regardless of dpi...

The wallpaper was applied, and the background areas that were changed to black, from stock white, also updated. Basically anywhere there was supposed to be magenta, there was orange instead. Which is not present in the stock theme at 500 DPI.
I posted some screenshots here of what is looks like: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74282888&postcount=7
I have no problem supporting your awesome work, having used one of your themes on the V20 as well. So I'll buy at least one theme either way, but it would be awesome if it can apply fully.

I wonder if he just used the bold theme as a base and left the other dpi folders in place. That might explain that orange. If at any point you test that on any of my themes let me know what happens at that dpi. I'll be adding a lot of themes in the near future. G Theme will likely be next once I've remade the icon pack for it.
Hey Mark...you made it! :good:
Love the look of the Pixel 2 Theme, but patiently waiting for this dark themes that you are "famous" for!
I think a G Dark and nXt theme would work well with the V30...or something similar to them.
I need to be more decisive regarding which themes I now purchase since majority of my Google credit went to all your V20 themes!
Looking forward to what comes next...

I'm definitely looking to go back to 500 DPI, so I'll try it with your Pixel 2 theme, unless you have a dark one coming within a few days. No rush, of course.
