I was uninstalling apps I don't use and I came across this.
Why is it trying to download after I delete apps? I also noticed a sudden drop in speed whenever I uninstall/install... is there something trying to make a backup or what?
BTW: the main root app I use is Rom Toolbox pro
Here's the settings

Go into your settings, applications, and manage applications.. in there find Market app and clear its data and try again..
For me it took a bit for it all to sync up nice after that, but it all worked.
thnx! I will give it a try

sync can be slow @ times
reboot after clear
I own a nexus one, and after upgrading to gingerbread, some applications which are installed such as dolphin browser and soundhound are installed but are not listed as installed on the market and thus I don't get update notifications for them.
I tried to clear data on the market app to re sync the installed apps but it had been disabled on gingerbread
Can anyone shed some light please?
Thanks in advance,

Do they at least appear on the market?
Yes, I even re-installed the apps, still not showing in my apps though.

You might be able to use Titanium Backup's "Market Doctor" function to re-establish the application links to the Market, though I believe that requires root.
Give it some times, they'll probably come back on it's own.
If not use Market Doctor like suggested, that might or might not solve it.
It has happened to me here and there and usually fix itself.
Another thing you can try is download an app, any app (something free that can be delete afterward) and see if that bring the missing apps back.
Hi everyone I want to remove the default phone and internet app from my phone. I know how to remove others by just deleting the apk in system/app like the gallery and FM radio, but the phone app is different you get force closes.
I'm using dialler one and opera instead but the default ones still pop up sometimes and because I've changed my dpi to 192 the phone app looks crap and annoying.
Can someone help with this please I did a search and couldn't find anything but to be honest the search in the xda app is below par.

Hi, i use Titanium Backup for this. It can backup, freeze and uninstall any app.
First i freeze system apps i do not like, so they are still there are can not be used by user or system. If there is no side effect after using mobile and reboot i uninstall app.
Hope this helps - Cheers
You need to be rooted to remove system apps.
Yeah thanks I am rooted used titanium never even thought of trying that have done the phone app but still unsure on the android browser.

Hi
then first freeze it with Titanium, it doesn't hurt
Is there a way to delete the purchase history of market apps so that phone won't auto restore those apps?
Thank you.

I don't know about that but when wiping for a Tom install I always skip sign in on setup. Then I go to the market and sign in. That way there is no autorestore to slow everything down.

Just uninstall them and when ever you flash an new rom or whatever they will not automatically get installed, but they will however still show up in the bottom of the "my apps" section and just say "purchased" so you can install them at a later time if you wish.
So I removed a lot of system apps that I do not have use for like for example the mobile hot spot app and circles widget. But there's a bunch of apps/services that I don't know what are used for so I was hoping someone here could make a list of what I can uninstall and or what I shouldn't. Which ever is most easier.

You usually dont want to remove services apks...always do nand backup before you start deleting system apks...that way you can go back to the working version...
You can use titanium back up, so you won't have to remove them. With Titanium, you can just freeze'em so they won't bother you... And it's more safe than completely removing them. If you freeze an app, and had a problem, you can always unfreeze them and you're back to a stable state.
