just follow Dr.Ketan http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997. He's got it all worked out. You'll see you have to flash a rootable ROM first, then root, then flash lc1.

The easiest way to root your phone is to flash LC1 pre-rooted Rom.

Dr ketan seems to know all.I think he's a bit of a legend. I switched over from iPhone last year and was so impressed with Android and note. I'm loving this rooting stuff even more.much better than jail broken iPhone.

Hey Winston, I have a few questions... I belong to alot of different forums, and I got help with my husky, so to pay him back, I am helping him with his phone. He has an i-9000 on t mobile. It is freezing on him alot. He is stock, and has never modded a phone. Could you help me with which rom, and and kernel is the best gingerbread experience? Can all i-9000 phones use the same roms, and kernels? What is the best way to root? I have had a fascinate, and understand Odin, but most of my phones are HTC. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Edit: Sorry, I double posted, didn't see this one.

Hello, i got a question.
I have a dutch Galaxy Note running 4.0.3(bought it at mediamarket) which i wanted to root.
my question is, is it possible to root the galaxy the same way american people root their phone? (i'm dutch)
If so, what is the best/fastest ROM?
My baseband version is N7000XXLPT
Kernelversion:
3.0.15-N7000XXLPY-CL474507
[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT (date)
Buildnumber:

Im quite new to rooting, so be nice
Welcome to XDA.
Before you root and start flashing kernels and roms read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633938

DAFUQ kernel, SpeedMod 3-3 kernel, Franco Kernel R3 and above, CF-Root 5.6 (not older versions of CF Root ONLY 5.6 )
and Kernel used in Official CyanogenMod and Roms based on it and all known Gingerbread kernels are Safe kernels.
Before you play with recovery, flash roms, restore backups, perform factory reset make sure you are always on Safe Kernels.
And please post questions in Q&A.

Please post questions in the Q&A section. Also take note of xda rule 3. Post only using a clear subject and message.
You're most likely to receive a helpful answer to your question if you use a short subject title that describes your problem and a message that explains in detail what your problem is and what you've tried to solve it.
Just having a [Q] as subject, is not going to help get you question answered.
I may be asking well known silly question, sorry for that.

I found this one
March 2012 / Android 2.3.6 / JW4 / Value Pack build:
CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS.zip
but as you can see it is CF-Root-XX_JW4
and i have XW_JW7
so JW4 is ok but What about XX and XW? does it matter? or i should flash this one only?
Following the root cf-kernel for kernel semaphore recommend cwm and flash.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
But if you want ics or JB, read the threads on the forum.

Help choosing Cf-Root version for Galaxy S2
Though I have posted here many years ago, please treat me as a newbie now.
I have a Samasung Galaxy S2 w/ Android 2.3.4. I would like to add Cf-Root so that I can manually upgrade to the newest available version of Android.
1. My kernel version is 2.6.35.7-I9100 XXKH3-CL479037.
I see there are two KH versions of Cf-Root:
"XX_OXA_KH3: Untested (by me) (thx to robbielicious for the stock kernel)
XX_XEU_KH4: Tested"
Which one is better for my phone? Is there any advantage in using the KH4 which was tested by the maker, over the exact match KH3, not tested?
2. Could you please provide a link (to a reliable download site) for the latest android version? The sites that were in the original post appears to have been shut down.

There is a one click root app and also a CWM installer app if I'm not mistaken compatible for the i9000 available on XDA.

It's weird that there is no starter guide here. You have to flash recovery via odin and download Cyanogenmod from official page. So you go to get.cm and select "galaxysmtd". Download stable cm10 or download cm10.1 here in development section. You can use the starter guide in the i9001 android development topic because they are related.

U need to find ur CF-ROOT, go to link above i mention, but read carefully, its for ur own good on discovering da method to choose cf root, or if u wanna some easy guide, change firmware to jvu, da link+cf root+guide+problem solving already in mr EwOkie thread kn above link.
safest way to upgrade by version (GB-ICS-JB) ans if u miss, there will be some error occur.u can choose any custom rom or kernel in dev section. flashing method are likely with CWM or TWRP.
Juz read carefully n u will know something priceless
