There shouldn't be any yuto brightness in Stock cm, cause the sensor isn't used by the stock sensors libs that are used. If its there its a bug and should be reported.
CM has that bug. If you want to control brightness from status bar, use brightness control from from status bar option, it'll be somewhere in the settings it works perfectly

Ah, thank you, that worked for me also!

I had seen a friends Samsung Vibrant and he showed me how you can actually raise and lower the brightness settings of the phone by holding your finger on the status bar for a second and then swiping either left or right on it to adjust the brightness levels.
Just a cool feature if anybody is interested in investigating it.
Thanks,

I've seen this in action and it's pretty cool. Wonder if it's hiding in an .apk somewhere....
As far as I know, its in the framework Part and @kmobs tried it but needs help with the linear layout ...
Any application?
Is there any application with this feature? To change screen brightness INTO the status bar.
Any one can create such application?

You could
There are ROMs with brightness controls in the notifications.. Open Notification bar, tap the icon.. Has various options from Auto/30/100 all the way up to like 5 or so options. I tend to leave mine on Auto except when I'm using the phone as a car GPS in which case I need it brighter, and I let Tasker do that for me.
Hello everyone,
I am missing the brightness toggle on the notification bar. There is the option in CM10,but it doesnt appear. Is that normal?
I have searched the forum, but the search funktion doesnt work this time....

You sure you didn't enable the swype notification bar to adjust brightness-setting? For that, just swype across it (from left to right to increase the screen brightness, from right to left to decrease).
Where i can turn off the swype notification bar? I didnt find it in the settings...
I got it in cyanogenmod 9 at System » Status Bar » Control Brightness.
I translated it from my languaged rom to English, so these might not be the exact words, sorry.
I found it..it was under system-statusbar-brightness....but it doesnt matter if it is on or of... if i swipe from left to right or from right to left nothing happens..maybe its a bug of cm10...

You need to hold the middle of the status bar, (not dragging it down) and you will notice a change in brightness after about 2 seconds. Then swipe to change the brightness via this method. I find this helpful so everytime you pull down the bar it does not change the brightness, however it is not the most convenient having to hold the bar down first. Hope this helps.
You are my Hero...it is working fine now, only thing i had to to is not setting the brighness to Auto, then the toggle works...
Hi guys.
How can I activate the statusbar slider to adjust the brightness ? I really miss that option from KK 4.4 ... ( i'm using mackay rom 4.4.2 and i can't find this option anymore )
As far as I know it is not implemented in KK yet....

Thanks for reply,
I think I'm going back to 4.2.2 then
Only because of that? oh thats sad !....because for example there is a toggle and a tile with them you could adjust it in the same way as in display settings. And I think this feature will be inlcuded too soon anyways :fingers-crossed:

Let me explain this When I stay in the house the brightness is always at 0% but when I go outside, I always forget to adjust the brightness and I can't see the display from the Sun so I have to adjust the brightness to 100%. But even if you can't see anything on the display, you know you only have to slide the status bar to change the brightness.. this is my little problem
( and not because of only that i want to go back to 4.2.2.. the incoming call delay is annoying too, Or when you press the unlock\home button and the display turns on you have to unlock it and only after unlocking you're able to change the sound mode with volume keys <> volume keys works with 4.2.2 in lockscreen <> It's not a big problem but for example when you're in traffic it may be a problem for others too ..so for everyday use the 4.2.2 it's better for me
half the notification panel is unusable. unless im missing something there appears to be no way to remove the brightness slider. i know it was a setting on my note3. also cant find a way to remove the stupid s-finder and quick connect buttons. please tell me im missing a setting somewhere for these. they are a giant waste of space.

That's correct. There is no way to remove it unless you do some modding. Stupid move they took out that option. What were the DA's thinking!?
It's not a solution, but when using Lux Brightness to control auto-brightness, it has a module show up in the notifications pull-down. It did remove the stock slider, though I haven't gained any space.
However I do prefer Lux when it comes to brightness control (set to Dynamic) and their module at least is more informative than the stock one.
I'm also not sure if the phone can go into the overbright mode any longer but I've never had outdoor visibility issues.
I was actually able to get rid of it without modding by installing Lux Auto Brightness & using it to manage my brightness. Once I set it up the Samsung one in the notification panel disappeared. Also, with Lux, you can have it set to not show in the notification panel, which is what I've done.
If you root and install xposed framework, you can disable the S planner portion, but no luck with brightness yet.
Which module or option under xposed framework did you use to get rid of the s finder and quick connect?
Thanks

Download wanam xposed from play store. Then it's in notifications.
Here is the option. Among many.
For some reason i dont see that option for my wanam xposed
....
Sorry figured it out. I installed wanam from xposed itself. Need to go to the playstore and upgrade the program from there.
He's right. Installing LUX does remove the stock brightness bar but the thing is, the LUX bar isn't all that pretty either...

In the Lux settings you can disable their bar once it's there.
