Hello guys, how are you?
I'm developing a ROM for i9000B based on CM9 and I don't know if I'm looking to the right direction. All the ROMs I tried, the I/O was drastically improved (5000+) while mine I get 1300...
I remember "Low Data Storage" - init.d helped it but it's not working.. so I'm a bit confused here.
Already tried to find some answers but couldn't see anybody talking about it (just lagfix which is for Samsung ROMs)
Could anyone point me the right direction?
Ah, it's based on CM9 29/05 (I compile from the repo), busybox 1.20.1-cm9 (already tried with 1.20-git) and Devil Kernel 2_0.94
Best Regards!

Hi Folks,
After much searching I have not found satisfactory answers to my questions so I thought I would post.
I was looking at the SuckerPunch kernel and while I know it is for the Captivate, will it work on the Samsung Galaxy S i9000?
If not, is there another SpeedMod based kernel with UV/OC capabilities, up to 1.4 Ghz (so not Voodoo)? I am currently on Super Optimized and looking for a change.
Cheers
Nevermind. Check this out:

I want to flash a Kernel that is oc/uc -able(just to 1.3 Ghz) which is compatible to Darky´s Rom 10.1.
I am looking for that quite a while now, but finding kernels seems to be a lot harder than finding Roms. I came across the Damian Gto and the Glitch Kernel (on Xda forum) but it seems like Damian does not support 2.3.3 and the Glitch Kernel is only for MIUI ?
Could you please help a desperate noob?
thank you
If I am corrrect from memory Tegrak have a kernel that allows oc/uv they have a few apps on the market to also control it. I know they have some for JVP/Q. Darky 10.1 I believe is JVH I'm sure they did one for JVH.
Good Luck
I will look into that and try to help!
thank you
I used the Tegrak OC app, which works but is not really stable.
And Yes, you are right Darkys 10.1 is JVH based...
Why are Kernels so difficult to find? especially for Gingerbread?
I am still searching...
Hi. I have a question. I have an Samsung Galaxy S with 2.3.6 XXJVU and I obtain 1300 score in Quadrant
1)Lag Fix for 2.3.6 are released,if yes , give me please
2)Its any possibility to obtain high score than my score on 2.3.6 ?
Thank You!
do you know what lag fix is?
any lag fix should work.
just find newest one you see should work. all it is is formatting your phone storage from rfs to ext4 or something else.
quadrent scores dont count much for some people. but if you want to improve try new kernal, scripts, or a whole new rom. look in the dev section. new roms get over 1300 + easy. ive seen 2000+ with a good rom and kernal and some overclocking
try to flash to custom kernel like semaphore...and flash the pikachu thunderbolt tweak as well. you can feel the different.
Hi, I have been searching - to no avail - some existing answers that seemed relevant.
My question is simple: my Galaxy Note N7000 is running the recently rolled out stock ROM ICS 4.0.4 (LRG), to which I flashed the K3-7 SpeedMod kernel (which works fine - including NTFS support - apart from the bluetooth problem etc).
However, it seems that it is missing tun.ko and I cannot run OpenVPN (which is a must for me).
I have tried using the tun.ko loader app from the market but it tells me that there is no available module for my combination (ROM, kernel, model).
Can someone please help? Thanks very much!
PS. I am a new member and cannot post to dev forums (ie directly to the kernel discussion)

It may be silly to reply to one's own post, but I found the problem and would like to share it just in case someone else encounters it.
It was not at all a kernel problem, in fact SpeedMod indeed includes the tun.ko module (if you run the tun.ko finder app it will tell you that it is already loaded). My problem was ifconfig, in the OpenVPN installer configuration I had to set the ifconfig path to: /system/bin/ifconfig (and not /system/xbin/...). It all became apparent after looking at the openvpn log files and understanding where it was failing.
Thumbs up for the SpeedMod kernel! :good:
Hello there,
just flashed the new semaphore 2.9.9 kernel on my i9000 after getting the cyanogenmod 10.1. On the official semaphore website they say there are 6 governors, but when I use the semaphore manager app only 4 are displayed. Performance and Powersave governors are missing. Anyone a solution?
Thank you,

I don't know if this will fix your problem, but there is a new 2.9.10 version out, you can find it here:

Maybe you can try installing that and see if it fixes your problem. Sorry if it doesn't help though.
