One of my 'pet peeves' with the Bionic is how the enter key behaves when composing a sms message. It acts as a return key, adding a new line. I want it to act as the send key.
Any thoughts on how to do this? It's particularly annoying on the lapdock, as I have to use the keypad and press 'send' to actually send the message. Would be much more efficient if the enter key did this.
use go sms and its in settings. I love gosms for themes over stock sms

When I'm compiling emails on my TyTN II, I find that often my email will be unintentionally sent when I'm only part way through due to a keyboard combination being used. Section 7.7 of the TyTN II user manual (page 134) refers to keyboard shortcuts and mentions holding down the S key is a shortcut to send the message but as in this (much) earlier thread I found relating to Accidentally pressing keyboard shortcut to send SMS, it refers to SMS sending and I'm having the issue with email. Is this pressing the softkey still the cause (I'm pretty sure it seems more like pressing a combination of keys around the S that are doing it in my case). More importantly, has anyone found a Cab, fix or even a WWE HTC ROM to stop this happening?
It's very annoying and I would have though some solution must have been found by now. I'll mention it in a letter to HTC but based on their past 'performance', I don't hold out much hope of a quick (or even eventual) fix from them. I'm therefore hoping for a solution from forum members so please let me know.
For me, its happened when i accidentally hit the send soft key between the R and T. I know its pretty bad sending half an uneditted email to a client and then having to send another email explaining why it happened and carrying on from there.. very unproffesional.
My solution to this problem is to simply cut and past the recipients email address from the to field to the subject field. Then once i'm done editing and everythings squared off and ready to go, i'll just cut and paste from the subject field back into the to field.
hope this little work around helps you. As for a hotfix or a confirmation message before sending it, i haven't heard of one.
I press that goddamn softkey all the time.....
It is really embarassing when you send a message half complete!
Good tip about the subject line

I use AE Button Plus and have set the soft keys to ignore a single press. If I need to access the single-press application, then I just need to press on the screen.

Thanks for that work-around, that'll certainly do the trick if I remember to blank the 'to' field before creating the email. I've also emailed the AE Button Plus email address to see if they are willing to make a version of the product that works just with the TyTN IIs email and SMS program when thats in operation. I've also unticked the 'send messages immediately' box in my Windows Live Options on the TyTN II (since I use my Hotmail account through this device). I've found that this puts my email into the drafts folder and it's only when I then send the draft that it actually leaves - it's a bit of a pain though given keyboard short cuts are supposed to help rather than hinder.Definitely one for HTC and Microsoft to address.
I am experimenting with a new contact manager. I like funcontact so far, unless you guys can convince me otherwise.
I'd like to be able to compose a new text message and when I click on TO: it would take me to FunContact instead of the default contact management program. Can this be done, if so how?
If this question has been asked 100 times, sorry, did a search, not sure the right lingo...so am posting. Don't flame me please!

Hey my friend has a Eris and she has a few questions about it. First of, is there an app to change the colour of the trackball for text, missed calls, etc. Second question, is there a way to get rid of the duplicate contacts, maybe a different contact/text/phone app. It shows Google sync and sim card numbers seperate even though its the same info.'
The trackball on the Eris does NOT support multi-color....
and I cannot answer your question about the duplicate contacts.. anyone else?
Update: Under all contacts, press the menu button < View and it should give you a menu so that you can filter contacts based on email / phone / facebook or if contacts have a phone number or email..
other then that you could manually delete duplicates? hope this helps..
thanks man. i'll tell her.

TO MODERATOR: Seems we have addressed these questions, feel free to close / remove thread...
I have 2 questions about the ROM. The search feature of XDA seems to have changed and I am having difficulty searching the forums for these answers.
1. When I get a call waiting, the phone asks if I want to hold the first call or end it. Other ROMS that I have used do not ask this question and just place the call on hold. Is it possible to turn this question off. I cannot seem to find the answer.
2. When I am writing an email, suggestive text does not appear. It appears when I am doing other tasks, such as texts, etc. Can this be enabled or is it a feature yet to come?
thanks for the help!
but of course I could not find the answer I want to do a one time transfer of a text message from my captivate to my pc , I don't want to always back up all my text messages or sync it to Google- I just want to save the funeral announcement for my stepfather text that was sent to all family members nationwide to give details of when and where it will be held-some my think it is morbid but i was there when he took his last breathe and for some reason I feel I need to save that text
I know there will be people stating use the search button and i have but have not been able to find an answer i also tried all the search engines and cannot find a free app that I can use once- I don't know maybe it's part of the mourning process as this just happened so I would appreciate any help
thank you,
Harry

or screen shot and send it to your pc
Sorry for your loss. You could use an app called "SMS Backup". This save all your txt msgs and allow you to restore the msgs after reloading your phone.
